I am a Wiccan and our symbol is that of a Pentacle, and the fact that the new Vampire Hunter item has an upside down and red Pentacle. Being a Pagan I know how many associate the Pentacle with the devil, and even more so when it is upside down. This greatly offends me because once again the Pentacle is being shown the wrong way and in alliance with a Vampire or devilish theme too it.

I would like to see Gaia fix this, the symbol should be placed right side up and done in gold or silver, or it should be removed comptely because it is offensive to Pagans to show the symbol in that way.
I'm actually tired of Religion being tied into Gaia Society.
Just let it be.

I personally like it.
Not because it's "semi-paganistic" or "omg devilworshipping satanaistnist bullsht".

because it's the first item of it's kind.

And because it's Satanistic, i guess... xD

So... What did we learn?
Before someone goes off and disambiguates something as something, Think of who you might offend for saying an item is offensive.
I'm pagan myself, and have no problem with it.
A jillion different pagan religions view the pentagram in different ways -- and you'll also note that from the avatar's perspective, it's right-side-up.

This is one of those cases, I think, where's there's no way to do it that's going to satisfy everyone.

That's not the Pagan one dear, that's the Satanist one. There is a difference and many many pagans don't even let themselves thing of the two as alike.
Pentagram= Pagan
Pentacle= Satanism
So, if anything, Satanists should be the ones offend, not pagans. 3nodding I'm certainly not because I know it's just a item on a website and doesn't affect me or the Goddess.

Thank you Fleep!

BTW... Whoever designed the items... Give them a hug for me o.o
I've a idea. Why don't you suggest a item with that pose you want.
Your religion ain't a be-all and end-all. The pentagram thing could have easily come from any number of anime, and this is a anime site.

That's exactly why they shouldn't have it, because everyone equates it with Satan when Wicca and Paganism has no belief in Satan.

And I think all Christains and Catholics would be offended if a upside down Crucifix was a new item. So I think I have every right to be upset by this.

If you were a Pagan, you wouldn't believe in the Devil.

Also, you don't have a monopoly on pentacles.

Only uneducated people think they're the same. They are different and now is the perfect time to educate people about it. Instead of seeing this as offencive, see it as a chance to teach people about the true meaning.
EDIT: woo, messed that quote up >3<

The reversed one is Satanism, dear. Don't get your panties in a bunch.

I'd wager the only ones that have the right to be offended are second degree initiates in Wicca, but they also seem to be of a minority that isn't speaking up.

So why do you care, exactly?
"Second degree initiates"?
The upside-down pentacle used to not be an association to satanism actually... and to me it's just a symbol.

That, darling, is the sign of Satanism, not pagans.
You'd think that as a pagan yourself, you'd know the difference.
