I'm really upset about all of the inflation..

I just feel so defeated now. I loved this site so much, and have been on it since 2008.
I just checked some of my wishlist items and my heart sank because I will never be able to get those items. Unless I pay real money that is...

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I feel that my goals are pointless now...
I can't afford to buy anything on this site, and I wouldn't with the state it is in now.

I used to buy gaia cash or monthly collectibles quite frequently. I don't anymore, because it's all about gaia cash now..

I used to feel like I would be able to reach my wish list goals, but now I see that I simply cannot do so the way the market place is now.

Maybe you'll read what I'm saying, gaia staff, and maybe see that some of us feel sad and defeated now, even about a site some of us used to love so much...

I see your point though. It wasn't JUST those things that made me enjoy the site, but a lot of my friends and the people that I talked to left because of the bad inflation. A few things went south for me because of this.

Didn't they get rid of most of the hangout places too?

Not OP, but I feel similarly.

zOMG was a big reason I came on. It's basically dead. For a 10.1, it's almost impossible to advance because I can't solo the new area (10-12), and I'm too low for most people to want to take. I remember I'd come on and I'd see thousands upon thousands (okay, exaggeration) of people willing to help each other out, to do the bosses together. Now? Hell no. It's a shadow of what it was, and it's terrible.

Towns? Pretty much dead. There's not many people, and quite frankly, the ones that I've seen are the more annoying loud/obnoxious do u wanna cyber type people. Houses have basically been abandoned, so that also kills a lot of people's interests in it.

The forums? So many people have left. Again, it's a shadow of what it was. I've recognized a few people from my pre-hiatus time, and I'm glad they're still around.. but I don't blame the ones that aren't. If I wanted porn and annoying 13 year olds I'd go on tumblr, tbqh. This site used to be so much more. There's still some great people, don't get me wrong I'm not saying everyone is a shithead or anything.. but it's not the same.

I remember during events everyone would become great friends. I remember this one awesome chick I met during one of the Valentine's events. I miss that. I miss how people made friends easier, and it wasn't everyone out for themselves like it seems to mostly be now.

No, wealth isn't everything, but the wealth issue is directly caused by Gaia's staff not listening to us. As a result, a lot of people have left the site. Features are being neglected (zOMG is going down for maintenance soon and it's honestly up in the air as to whether or not it'll ever return) or never even started/completed (inventory arranger, anyone?) simply because Gaia can't profit as much or at all from them, and people are sick of it. (And the things they can do, like monetize zOMG, they aren't bothering with because it's not seen as a priority.) The wealth issue has a direct tie to the quality of the site.

Towns 2 probably isn't going anywhere since it's their new baby. The other hangouts just seem to... continue to exist without any updates to them or even any relevance (the Venus sponsor hangout still exists? for some reason?)

I wish they would update the old hangout areas!
And didn't they abandon the house project? Weren't they going to allow us to get bigger homes?

I haven't heard anything about them abandoning it. the only features I know they've abandoned is stuff like guilds. but the housing is probably bound to get an update... eventually... ...at some point.

I think you are quite wrong about zOMG and the new area (DMS)! People are still playing the game, usually one server is more populated than the other (usually it's brain clam or bladed vase) and people are willing to help people, if they are listening and not trolling!

Wealth doesn't matter to me either, but the site has pretty much become ONLY about the items. And the only way to get any of the new items is to either buy them outright with cash, or sell stuff from the cash shop and hope prices don't screw up too crazily in the meantime.

well i thought that too but all you have to do to combat it is collect bugs, make ink, and sell that at those ridiculous prices. i have over 300 million gold without much effort where a couple years ago i would be lucky if i had 300.
