So I think that Gaia should boost up the securaty beacause people migth get hacked and someone wouldn't want to get hacked and if someone for gets there password there user shouldn't get banned off the computer they should have to take stuff all over again like their birthdate etc. so vote on it because I amhopin that if I get enough votes maybe Gaia would consider it and do it because I really want this idea to go far and I only want the best fro this sight so please just vote for it thanks gtg got a manie petty

No matter how much gaia ups the security, there will always be idiots that give away their passwords.

More security can't stop people from being idiots and giving away their passwords. Most of the hackings that happen in gaia is because they fell for a scam and gave a way their password. No one can stop that but yourself. Not to mention having an easy password won't help. If you never give away your password, have a strong password etc. then you won't get hacked.

They're doing as much as they can to bump up security.
But there are still idiots out there there that don't read warnings and give out their password to everyone and their mother.
Unfortunately, Gaia can't stop people from being dumb.

The temp-ban on accounts is there for your protection, it's to slow down brute force attacks. Security questions were, when Gaia had them, tricked off of users and then used to hack accounts.
You can't type in your PW in PMs anymore and there are warnings everywhere. Unfortunatly some do still get phised, often due to thier own greed- and some fall for scams but there is no helping them sadly...

It took me a moment to sort through what you were trying to say. Though I will respond. The security on here is just fine. The problem is the user. If a user falls for a scam, than Gaia really didn't have anything to do with that....they even give you warnings when you're leaving the site. I've been logging into Gaia for two years as of last month and I knock on wood as I say this, but I haven't had any problems with scammers yet.

This announcement might make you feel better about your accounts security. One also has to remember your account is only as safe as you keep it.
