Gaia how about showing some consistency? Updated!

Should Gaia make a better effort cleaning up the forums, town topics, and other nasty areas of the site?

It was a very very very very looong time ago.

I remember when most of the forums were "normal". I remember when you could actually post in the LI and get honest yet respect replies, I remember when you really had to put a TON of effort into extended discussion thread or risk them getting sent to the GD. The only forum that kind stays the same is the AMC as its mainly about gateway anime series for North American teens and even though anime isn't that popular on TV much it still pretty the same.

I remember when you could actually post in the LI and get honest yet respect replies, I remember when you really had to put a TON of effort into extended discussion thread or risk them getting sent to the GD. The only forum that kind stays the same is the AMC as its mainly about gateway anime series for North American teens and even though anime isn't that popular on TV much it still pretty the same.

I've only been in the art forums, zomg, and now SF since I returned to Gaia. The art shops had too many threads moving too fast, half the shops were of poor quality. Not to be mean but why start a shop if you can't draw, art freebies is the place to practice ><

Even the zOMG forum was full of ridiculous drama and people complaining about elitists, you can't even post a victory thread without getting downvotes.

Now seeing your topic doesn't fill me with hope for Gaia's future. Extended discussion was full of interesting political and religious debates. I'm scared to visit them now.

Oh it still has some quality post, people, and thread from time to time but its pretty much ran its course as well. Really I could make yet another thread saying how a lot of threads can just get the axe as so many aren't used much and for the most part just make more work for the mods.

I remember in 2008 or 2009 when I first started playing Gaia on my first account I was viewing some posts in the GD. Some guy was having a bad day or something so he created many threads with dozens of pictures of dead cats and kittens and just sets of gross things like weird mouth diseases that made me want to throw up. I'm not the kind of person to report things usually but that just sickened me. I know I'm not the only person who reported him because people posted saying they were doing that, dozens. And you know what, it took and hour... AN HOUR for them to be removed. Who is moderating forum posts and taking care of reports? I swear, it really made me feel like I didn't want to be on this site anymore after that.

Plus there's always been the cybering on towns which I witnessed just last night. Then there were two people on zOMG beginning to do it today. Seriously? gonk
I've seen the constant hacking on Towns, and the spamming on zOMG in front of one of the boss areas just to annoy people. And it's kind of sad when someone says, "Please stop, or I'm going to report you" and the other person replies, "Go ahead. It's not like they do anything about it" because that's quite true.

I don't even view most forums because it's usually just spam and trolls. I wouldn't have ever come back if a couple friends didn't convince me to. The only things I've ever really liked about Gaia are the Towns feature and zOMG, which Gaia doesn't appear to care about much at all.

Sadly, I associate Gaia with all these things like spam and cybering, bad management and bad moderating and sadly, I don't think that will ever change.

Indeed and that's the point of this whole thread is to bring such thing to light because sadly the mods don't know all the time nor do the upper staff. Also please remember that the poor mods have like five or more forums to police, probably get their Pm space maxed out, and just other woes. The whole system probably should get an update but I don't see it happening any time soon.

As I pointed out in my gaming thread (here on the SF) its the sum of all Gaia's part that's makes it great if any area lags then the whole site looks bad.
