G9 Laptop no longer works in homes CORRECTLY [edit 02/10/12]

Update: 02/10/12 = Thanks for the update to allow equipable items back into the home... but now the laptop looks PATHETIC. Its SMALLER than my phone! Can we get it back to how it was before? =<

I addressed the official housing feedback forum , but didn't see this thread until now. I'm going to try to fix this issue and a few others. Stay tuned.

The G9 Laptop (market) was marketed as the first MC to be ALSO a homes item. Ever since its always sat on my desk by my bed. But now it no longer works sad

Can you make it work again?
My Home is so sad without it...

Give us back the ability to put regular avatar items around our Homes, Gaia! D: This was the ONLY good use I had for keeping dumb items like the Vial of Unknown Liquid. It made a great decoration in my home, and now I can't put it in any more.

I just went into your house, I agree without the laptop its missing that extra something. I hope normal avatar items work again, I used to keep a newspaper on my desk and since I'm remaking into voodoo themed I wanted to leave some dolls around too...but I can't have that now. :c

Ditto. I had a pair of slippers, a plushie, and some masks that I kept on the bookshelves. It just made things look more home-like. It would be nice if we could do that again.

Aside from the fact that the grid seems to be less flexible/properly aligned now than it used to be (Link), this was my main sadness with the update. I'm very glad to see it was updated, but I'm hoping that as they make things more stable, fix issues like layering and placement, we'll also be able to use regular items again. I used to stick a laptop on the desk from the image above, but now that's not possible. As others have mentioned here and elsewhere, there are tons of items that work in a very nifty fashion in homes like the Vial of Unknown Liquid, various slippers, and so on. It would be great to have that level of customization again in time.

God, I remember I used to keep some of those old tavern trays in a house I made for a mule. Fun times.
