No, they're artists who are working fast and care about getting the job done more than the quality. Some artists work well under pressure and time constraints, others get lazy and take shortcuts.

I hadn't really noticed this before you pointed it out. Now I really can't get over it. eek
Urg, I noticed it on the Elegant Satin Coat I'm wearing as well. The opening is further to the left on the body (looking at it on the customize avatar screen).
I'm wondering how many items are "centered" this way. Hopefully someone decides to fix this or they stop making items this way in the future.

I sold my Gogh Reed because I couldn't bear having it, when I couldn't wear it without it looking funny.
This has also been a reason why I haven't bought certain items.
