I think gaiaonline should make someway to merge posting on threads and posting images that you can draw on site like TegakiE and iScribble.

Like maybe have an option or something where you have a place for text and if you want press a button and draw something to add to the post or something.

It would make doodling on ABR and other art threads much easier, and fun; or for normal RP's where if you wanted to you could draw something to illustrate what your post is saying as like a little plus... because I think it would kind of make threads seem a little more fun... But I could be wrong all together, and Gaiaonline might not be able to hold that much memory or something and it would be hard for them to manage... Or not.. This is just my Idea~ and I have screen shots from the other sites to show you what I mean~

I'm on the fence about this.

On the one hand, it would be nice, but it has potentially NO way to block obscene pictures being drawn. It would have to rely entirely on the people involved, and if the people involved don't mind the obscenities, then it won't get reported.

Also, if you were able to do this in a thread, the window had better be very small. Because it's bad enough that people have these huge, ******** obnoxious flobs and ridiculous "post styles" that make their 5-sentence response stretch half a page.

Couldn't have said it any better then Bleeding already has. Sure, it would be nice, but there are plenty of negative aspects. It would also most likely cause a good bit of strain on Gaia's servers.

if they can track people for the award stuff they can make this happen
I really like the idea, as I'd find it really fun, but I can see a lot of possibilities for it's abuse. It's a tricky one.

Unholy Shapeshifter

I might need correction on this,
but didn't Gaia have something like this
at one point? An oekaki board?

While I do see the perks, I see more abuse than
anything, which was mainly covered in Bleeding
Apocalypse's post. Especially if people from the
CB and the GD get in there.

Also, there's another thing that wasn't mentioned:
Server space. I know they're just pictures, but at
the rate that people post? The drawings may be
posted at the same rate, and that will accumulate
to quite a bit of server space. That's why the Art
Arena makes you link it yourself, rather than
hosting the image for you. At the rate they're going
now, adding more costs for another server area,
along with the board, might do more harm than good
from a business standpoint.

Agreed.

i don't think this would benefit anyone outside of Art Threads- and it would be a ton of extra work for the devs.

On one hand- It could be a potential gold sink. You could pay 'x' amount of gold to submit your work to the art arena... or 'x' amount of gold to save it. Otherwise it doesn't get saved.

To prevent abuse, there could also be a license to access it. You pay let's say 50k to access it. It's reasonable enough for most users and most artists already make more than enough to pay for it.

I'm afraid I'm not following on the
license to access part. I'm not working on much sleep,
so could you clarify for my stupidity?

As nice as it sounds, the abuse and the strain to the servers like everyone else said would be a major overkill.

Soon, you will see the Annoying Donation Rabbit from Tegaki E running around Gaia if they did it >.>

In a nutshell- it's the same thing as the trading and vending pass. You pay a fee to access those parts of the site.

The only difference is for a violation (some 13 year old kid decides it'd be funny to draw boobies), your pass can be revoked and you have to buy it again... except at x2 the price for each violation.

If Gaia wants to make money off of it, they could offer a gold or GC way for paying for saves. Which... is legitimate since you're using up their server space.

There could also be a cap on the number of saves (probably like three initially) and a gold or GC way to unlock more slots (similar to the dress up closet).

So... it'd go like this. I want to use Gaiadoodles or whatever they decide to call it.

I go to Meredith (or whatever NPC they assign) and buy an Artistic License for 50k.

I draw whatever I want, and if I want to upload my picture of a bunny to the art arena, I pay the art arena fee (whatever it is). If I want to save the picture and not submit it, it's 10k.

I draw two more pictures, and pay 10k each to save them. If I want to be able to buy more slots- it's 20k per slot.

I draw boobies for lulz and Meredith bitchslaps me and takes away my license.

If I want to draw on Gaiadoodles again, I have to buy the license again... except this time it costs 100k.

There could also be an option to display your art in your profiles.

Agreed also. I think this would be abused way too much and people would use it to draw things against the TOS, plus like it's been said some people might not report it because they like it, then the next thing we know guilds that allow this kinda crap would appear and we'll be spammed with porn guilds.

I'm also worried about the amount of server space it would take :l
