If I remember correctly, it was said that not all of our money was going to the sister site at all. I don't know why you think that it goes RIGHT to this other website. Granted there is a lot of things that need to be fixed on Gaia, but when a corporation invests it's resources into things, there are other places that the corporation would get their money from, like ad revenue, sponsorships, that sort of thing.

The cash shop isnt where Gaia gets all of it's money from, and the revenue from the cash shop probably mostly goes to keeping Gaia up, i mean, the servers aren't down, are thyey? but then obviously a portion of it would go to the corporation's pot for future investments/endeavors/etc. Gaia takes a LOT of money to run, so I don't think as much of our money goes into the corporation as pepole are making it seem. :/

HOWEVER... the NSFW portion is a small portion of the site, from what I can tell... it's one of MANY DIFFERENT forum areas. The site is in beta, which means it's still testing, so I hope that they do implement proper blocks and stuff for people to not see that s**t if they don't want to. I haven't been able to explore much of the website, but it really doesn't really seem like its solely based on porn posting. ^^;

Also: how should a lady act? I hope any way she pleases.

I never said they were taking all the money we put in to Gaia to the other site. No where did I say that. I am just not an advocate of porn sites and do not wish to be used as one against my will. I really do not think that is so hard to ask for.

Also this feedback thread really isn't about the new site I think we all got off topic here I did mention inflation did I not?
How about all the things that used to be fun on here and it seems have become abandoned?

But it's not a porn site, that's what I'm saying. There's more to the site than just that, that's like saying Gaia's an exchange website because it has the exchange in it. Gaia is made up of all of the forums, not just one. I dunno why you're getting on my case for bringing it up when it has been the topic of conversation for a few posts and honestly is irrelevant to what you said.

And whether or not this thread is about that website or not... I don't see how what I said has nothing to do with the topic at hand. Gaia is expensive to run, it takes a lot of money to run the site, I don't think as much money is leaving the site as everyone in this thread is thinking, so I was hoping to insure you of that. ^^; I feel like most of the money DOES stay on gaia, but they also probably have to make up the money they've lost with all of the other endeavors that have failed or who have used more resources than they gained. I do hope we see new features and maintenance on existing features soon. sad

But we did get a new feature by way of the pet avatars recently, so I think that we're about due for a new feature within a few weeks. Inventory arranger, hopefully!

Oh sorry! I didn't mean to sound like I was getting on your case about it! I just thought that I should change the tide of the conversations before my "feedback" got sent to the recycling bin like a lot of threads have for discussion the Tentacl site. rolleyes

No you are right about that I am sure it's not cheap to run Gaia. I merely think that maybe instead of all these rigs they should spend time on more fun and worth while pursuits like making more games for us to play and fixing glitches.

I hope most of the money stays on Gaia. I love this site. That's why I was so upset about what I had been hearing and seeing with the lack of care about inflation and all.

The marketing teams and the people who do events/develop new content and glitch fixes aren't the same people, sadly. I like the monthly item RIGs that we have, but I do not care for or think that the other ones are necessary. sad I wish that the marketing team would focus more on successful, clever advertisement than just posting announcements about things over and over again.

it's also a problem since it seems like these departments work absolutely independently of each other and don't seem to have any communication. o.o~ Last Halloween, UK made an awesome gold sink but then the marketing team released flynn's booty right at the same time which is counter-productive. People were speculating it was so Gaia could make more money off of FLynn's Booty, but UK explained that it was even worse than that... they just have such poor communication between departments that no one discusses when to release things in tandem with other parts of the site. sad

I honestly feel like the broken parts of the site are being truly neglected, especially since in between new features it feels like absolutely nothing is happening. Lately we've been getting some new stuff, but no fixes to old things that desperately need it. I think it's kind of shitty of Gaia to hire new artists, but not to hire new developers and admins when it's obvious that they are needed.


I actually don't like the animal avatars at all. @_@ I think they're really cute, but I prefer the human base for myself. An owl one would be adorable tho!

If they had made them a little bit more cute.. or like made them to look more like the animal they are supposed to be... it's like all the bases resemble each other hard to tell who is wearing a bear vs. cat sometimes... mostly they all look like cats to me anyways! xd

But I love owls so I am for anything that they make that is owl related. Unfortunately there isn't many owl items. neutral But I'd rather see more fairy items if they are going to keep just pushing out EQ. All for better fairy wings and floating feet mods!
