This one is horrible! scream
Significance
I don't really like it, no.
I think gaia would be best off staying away from using real life images on the homepage. They could be offensive, turn people away, or limit the target audience in some way.

Using real life pictures seems to causes too many problems for what they're worth. :)

I don't like this one...
the emo in the back is a little weird for a thing on the first page.
The girl - why do we care?
The lockers - assuming that all the members are just highschool kids. Some of us are older or younger, don't forget.
The av's and the avatar arena thing right below it makes this look like just another doll site.
Forums are crammed into the corner. They don't matter.

Overall rating: Meh, 1 or 2, still haven't decided yet.

I think they should come up with a whole new design, one with a smaller online counter, no real-life photos, and a picture that's not so feminine.
I like this one too. whee Actually I am very impressed that you chose someone normal-looking to reflect a user as opposed to a... well, a model. I guess I like the everyday-life look of the front page model, and the avatars look like something to reinvent ourselves with. 3nodding After all, it might be who we personally are. 3nodding I like the concept! whee

evil evil evil evil evil evil evil evil the girl is ugly!!!
and the avatars!!!
i don't like it!!! evil evil evil evil evil evil evil evil
Nah, it's too boring.
I'd actually change the photo of the girl. Don't take a supermodel or so, but something better than this (to the girl: sorry for being rough)
How the heck am I supposed to relate to the girl?

The problem w/ using real people is that some people may or may not relate to them. I'm not anything like that girl and I probably wouldn't hang out with her in real life, so why should I be interested in the product that she's advertising?
