It's a very visually appealing design but there should be a combined scenery of different avatars in situations blended together. Gaia isn't about one person, it's a community and if we tie in a community with avatars then you get the point of Gaia across.

I love this one a lot, it makes the site looks cool and fun! also I think a lot of anime fans will be attract to this look.

This is easily my favorite layout! None of the others even appealed to me in the list, but this one is great! Colored and bold to attract anyone's attention, and the mermaid looks happy and blissful, which almost always strikes a good note in people. I love the fantasy aspect, and the colors just work! Not to mention, I'm a red-head too, so I always associate with red-headed images almost always in a positive way wink This is definitely the winner in my book, no contest.

This is the strongest out of the 5 because it has the most encompassing focal point taking up 75% of the users vision. But what is going on with all the alignment? The dead space is way too huge and the reg button is an eye sore.

People will like this for a strong homepage and gives GaiaOnline a great and definite identity to the first time user. The other designs were vague on "what" is GO is that goes beyond the typical "online community". Its good that you would advertise the unique environment (the look and feel).
Also VC totally throw their cash-lined grunders at strong and appealing communities that are unique and innovative.

This is my favourite, but it does focus a bit too much on the aquatica - however if you are new then you wouldn't know that and just see it as a nice picture.
