I really like this one.

The only thing that I would change is the 'Avatar Arena' to just 'Arenas' and the little avatar that they feature there. It's kind of creepy.

Besides that, I really like it

Overall I like this layout the best out of the five of them. The images are light and inviting while the avis give a taste of what new users can expect. That being said there are terrific ideas you could apply from the other samples to this one. Such as the lower three options from design 5. The picture for the art arena is much more appealing then the avi for the arena. Theres also the picture used for the backround in design 3. It eliminates the white non used area of the front page and makes it more of a joy to look at while also showcasing the awesome art work of the site. (You guys draw so well but barely give us anything to look at.) Maybe tossing a drawn picture of somewhere in gambino or another gaia lanmark would give the front page more personality.

This one is my second favorite mock-up right now. I like how it ties in the avies to the people behind the computer, it's good advertising. Also, it uses more color than most of the other mock-ups, which is good for visual designs.
