Thanks for all your feedback. After more listening and some discussion on our part, we have decided not to release the header/footer as shown in the mock or with the minor changes described in my previous post. We are going back to the drawing board to review our options and make more changes taking into account your suggestions. Please stay tuned - I'll be posting an update soon - maybe in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for your input and for helping shape a better product!

Thanks so much to this development team for being willing to listen to our feedback~! heart It must be hard to put in a bunch of effort and then have the idea pitch not loved by the userbase. Your professionalism in noting and responding to the feedback was amazing and exemplary; way to go~! 3nodding

I really need my speech bubble and hope that your new version will allow me to keep it. whee

Keep up the great work! User Image

thank you very much for reconsidering! it shows a lot of integrity and professionalism to listen to all the negative feedback and retract an unpopular development, and the way you handled it all was very commendable. i look forward to seeing what else your team can come up with!

A little birdy had told me you're retracting the whole idea. eek

Thankyou. A heartfelt warm thankyou to the team. whee
I know it is painful to drop the whole idea and restart from scratch, but... Aye, I feel happy and guilty at the same time. sweatdrop
But good luck to whatever else you'll come up with! I'm rather excited. biggrin

Thank you so much for going back to the drawing board on this! It's this kind of staff behavior that makes people get their faith back in Gaia, that makes people who otherwise thought you didn't care that you are listening. I also give you props for handling all of this with a professional attitude(and when I saw 'professional', I mean not loosing your cool and actually trying to make compromises).
i'm so glad that the idea is going to have some changes. I really didn't want my bubbles to leave.

Thank you very much for listening to our feedback! I know it's hard to make such a turnaround on a project like this, but proof that Gaia listens is very very valuable.

Now, I was leery about the footer, but I was also looking forward to the tech advancements that were going to come with it. (Once you backtracked on the PM bubble thing, it was actually starting to sound almost decent.) I believe you also were talking about more customizable shortcuts, which has been a dream of mine for some time.

Maybe you could do it as a header or a sidebar instead? I'm not sure it needs to be "floating" as such, but instant access (instead of scrolling to the top) would still be nice. Of course, you'd still have to factor in load time, and older browsers/computers, but I have confidence Gaia's devs can figure this out. biggrin
