I don't want to sound elitist when I say this: but for me it's hard to see an item that just came out surpass 2003/2004 items in cost. I'm not saying just because an item is older it should be worth more...but it is just weird to see these items surpass some of Gaia's well loved and most coveted items like the Kiki Kitty, the OMG/AFK cats, etc. You know what I mean?
It's true!
It used to be that I could stay "afloat" with buying recent items by selling off old items I don't use anymore--I could always find something to sell in order to buy things I wanted more.
Nowadays, it's like "Gee, I could trade this letter that I've had
since 2004 and get ... 1/8th of a Demon Cat..."
More and more Gaia is doing things to reward the users with the endless wallets. :/
I mean, if they were to like, release a RIG
and the special items that could be found in that RIG at the same time? I think it could work.
If I spent $10 and wanted one of the RIG's items that cost 499 GCash... If the RIG was 99 or less? Heck, most of the time I'd buy 5 of 'em. See what I get. Might get what I want, right? And if not, I can still get the item I wanted in the first place directly. And I'll have spent the same amount
and ended up
HAPPY.
I'll admit that the first few times around, I thought the RIGs were pretty fun. The items were interesting, and although they did include Gold-shop items... they ONLY had ones worth the same amount as the RIG itself. So it wasn't a
complete rip off (like spending 149 GCash on a RIG and getting a cash shop item worth 15 GCash). It still sucked getting crap though, so the entertainment value wore off. Fast.
What I really don't get is
why Gaia wants these items to
be super rare. What is the
point of creating scarcity like this?
