*shakes head at thread* I believe I made my case in the previous thread similar to this, so I ain't going to bother saying anything beyond "Guild's not in a the priority list simply because it is not in dire need of an update."

If you're interested in any tidbit info on Town 2.0, I received a post from codemonkey in AtA this week pertaining to it. :3

Your statement just sums it all up. ^ . ^

Thank you, I will definitely take a look at that. 3nodding

EXCUSE ME... PAN CAME TO THE GGNMG- NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!

You need to speak calmly. stare I take being shouted at as trolling.
I am not trolling- I am speaking loudly so you understand.. We don't randomly go to developers... They were assigned to the GGNMG to work with us...geesh.. If you are at least a crew member on a guild, join the GGNMG and see just how hard we have been working

It was never mentioned that they were assigned to you, had I known that, I would not have made my comment.
Speaking in all caps only makes me want to not listen to you, because it makes me think that you are just a child throwing a fit. No, I am not saying that you are, but you need to understand that CAPS gets you nowhere, overreacting to a flash-based update gets you nowhere. Now, had they done an update to the forums, but not the guilds, I would understand why you are so frustrated. But, this is Housing and Towns, which has only just recently started obtaining much-needed updates. It is flash-based and uses an entirely different type of code.
No one is going to care if you try to boycott Gaia itself, because it won't have any effect at all.

And, FYI, I am a captain of two guilds, and am and have a been a VC and Crew member of many other guilds. They die due to lack of interest and the captain not doing enough to keep the guild active. It isn't Gaia's fault there is more than one place to roleplay in, or create things in. I am in that guild, and I did post in your little harassment topic. >.>

The Guilds HAVE been receiving updates here and there, but the Devs can only work so fast and on only so much at a time. Would you rather they pushed out a huge update for guilds, which the end result of will be the destruction of the Guild's entire system, just because some users became impatient? They have to do this a little at a time, take baby steps, or it'll end up broken as hell - like Alchemy came out.

The big update we need is for the forums- specific requests were made- deleting them, cleaning them out, etc. If you are a member of the guild, you can read the entire proposal. If we get forum reforms, we will be very happy and can be quiet for a while. But we aren't getting that. The last update the guilds got was putting our ranks under our names- and that was no biggie- it was just done a couple of hours after we told Pan we wanted it because the rest of Gaia had it. It wasn't a big coding issue,

Oh and we aren't calling for a boycott of Gaia- it's a boycott of Gaia Cash! Why finance Gaia if they won't use our money to make our experience the best that we want?

-sighs- I am wasting precious gathering time trying to reason with you.
The Guilds are in no dire need of an update.
Boycotting GC won't do you any good. Start showing up at every ATA meeting and ask about what they plan on doing with guilds and such. Seriously, you're angry over a flash-update being before a guild update.
Were I a Dev on the Team, I wouldn't give a rat's a** about you, because that is just childish and silly.

Uncle Kenny
Just to clarify, Housing is a built using Flash, Guilds is built using HTML/PHP/CSS/JSP/etc etc. The developer who has made all the updates to Housing, codemonkey37179, is a Flash developer. He is our go to person for everything Flash-related and thats what his job is. Housing, the Valentines Flash space, and the in-progress Towns 2.0 project, are all the result of his hard work. He isnt working on other areas of the site because Flash spaces are his specialty and thats what hes kicking butt at. And on a further note, we always have multiple Developers working on multiple projects. The completion and launch of one project does not determine the disinterest in another.

That said, we do have a smaller team than in years past and as always, we have to prioritize the projects that will have the biggest impact for the most users on the site. We have not forgotten Guilds and we arent just ignoring the requests for upgrades. There are improvements wed like to make to Guilds but there are other projects on the list that are higher priority currently. As we move forward and complete projects, we will prioritize our list again and again so no project is at risk of being completely ignored.
I apologize for mamaritas behavior. As a guild user and captain, I have seen problems come up here an there but nothing feature-threatening or major. Updates would be nice, but I am patient and love the fact that the devs have el code monkey for his flash skills not to mention his being clever with the outfit). I cannot wait for more updates regarding flash spaces and forum and guild features

I've seen a number of users attempt to start a boycott. One of the failures of these boycotts is there aren't enough users willing to participate. Another failure is users don't seem to realize that if you want to boycott GC, you should do that with GC items as well. Buy buying them, you encourage users to sell them on the market for gold. And you're wearing 7 cash items now. Are you planning on boycotting all GC items?

More on topic, I get you're frustrated but you are coming off as rather rude toward the people you want to work on things for you. Threatening devs (boycotting) and being rude isn't going to motivate them to work on what you want. Might I suggest you adjust your tone? A dev was nice enough to come into the thread and give some information, don't be rude and make that the last dev response you get.

And, barring typos because of Gaia on the Go and its hatred for apostrophes and left parenthetical marks, I am not happy with how you are behaving, mamarita. The fact is that Guilds is a stable feature for now that does not require major fixes. Sure, I would love to tip people in there. Yes, I would love to have the guild streamlined so to have similar appearances to those of the current state of Forums. But we do not need them NOW because they are NOT, contrary to your notions, absolutely necessary at this point. And, given how you are throwing a tantrum rather than being reasonable and civil, I do not expect you to be taken seriously. In fact, I will, at some point later today, make a thread suggesting changes to Guilds that will be handled nicely and calmly. Maybe the devs will give it serious thought if one is not immature.

Uncle Kenny came to the guild and basically told us that we aren't going to get anything done. Here is the exact quote taken from his post on the GGNMG:
"Yes, we have dropped the ball with Guilds in the past. Yes, promises were made that probably shouldn't have been since they couldn't be kept. But Guilds is still a feature of the site and as such, it's still something we're committed to making work as well as we can. We have not forgotten about it and we are still listening.

We do have guild enhancements on our list, but again, they are not the highest priority thing on that list. Yes, the fixes are a long time coming but the feature does still function, you are still able to use it to organize in groups and communicate within those groups which is the purpose of Guilds as a whole. It may not be the smoothest experience but you can still do pretty much everything Guilds was built for. Meanwhile, there are other features which impact more of the site as a whole and which affect a larger portion of the userbase, which are broken, don't function correctly, or have issues with their experience that prevents users from even using those features. There are also a myriad of small bugs and enhancements that just make things easier for everyone.

We don't want you to stop supporting the feature you love and want fixed, at no point did I attempt to say that. All I did was offer you the best way I could think of to show your support in a way that does not deter anyone else. I don't want you to waste your efforts or get your hopes up with the idea that mass PMs/emails will get it moved up the list because things just aren't black and white like that.

We have set goals for ourselves to do our best in fixing what we already have on the site. We aren't jumping into big new projects, we're prioritizing our current features and doing our utmost to make them work as well as possible. You can read more about where we are as a company, here. But we have to take things one step at a time and other features currently are in more need of attention than Guilds. As we get the bigger things fixed, we can start to look more into long-standing, but not as site-impacting, issues like Guilds and others. I cannot promise any specific fixes or any specific timeframes because I'm not the one who makes those decisions but I can assure you that Guilds are not forgotten.

In short..Guilds are screwed...

I now rest my case
