Oh and we aren't calling for a boycott of Gaia- it's a boycott of Gaia Cash! Why finance Gaia if they won't use our money to make our experience the best that we want?
I've seen a number of users attempt to start a boycott. One of the failures of these boycotts is there aren't enough users willing to participate. Another failure is users don't seem to realize that if you want to boycott GC, you should do that with GC items as well. Buy buying them, you encourage users to sell them on the market for gold. And you're wearing 7 cash items now. Are you planning on boycotting all GC items?
More on topic, I get you're frustrated but you are coming off as rather rude toward the people you want to work on things for you. Threatening devs (boycotting) and being rude isn't going to motivate them to work on what you want. Might I suggest you adjust your tone? A dev was nice enough to come into the thread and give some information, don't be rude and make that the last dev response you get.
Uncle Kenny came to the guild and basically told us that we aren't going to get anything done. Here is the exact quote taken from his post on the GGNMG:
"Yes, we have dropped the ball with Guilds in the past. Yes, promises were made that probably shouldn't have been since they couldn't be kept. But Guilds is still a feature of the site and as such, it's still something we're committed to making work as well as we can. We have not forgotten about it and we are still listening.
We do have guild enhancements on our list, but again, they are not the highest priority thing on that list. Yes, the fixes are a long time coming but the feature does still function, you are still able to use it to organize in groups and communicate within those groups which is the purpose of Guilds as a whole. It may not be the smoothest experience but you can still do pretty much everything Guilds was built for. Meanwhile, there are other features which impact more of the site as a whole and which affect a larger portion of the userbase, which are broken, don't function correctly, or have issues with their experience that prevents users from even using those features. There are also a myriad of small bugs and enhancements that just make things easier for everyone.
We don't want you to stop supporting the feature you love and want fixed, at no point did I attempt to say that. All I did was offer you the best way I could think of to show your support in a way that does not deter anyone else. I don't want you to waste your efforts or get your hopes up with the idea that mass PMs/emails will get it moved up the list because things just aren't black and white like that.
We have set goals for ourselves to do our best in fixing what we already have on the site. We aren't jumping into big new projects, we're prioritizing our current features and doing our utmost to make them work as well as possible. You can read more about where we are as a company, here. But we have to take things one step at a time and other features currently are in more need of attention than Guilds. As we get the bigger things fixed, we can start to look more into long-standing, but not as site-impacting, issues like Guilds and others. I cannot promise any specific fixes or any specific timeframes because I'm not the one who makes those decisions but I can assure you that Guilds are not forgotten.
In short..Guilds are screwed...
I now rest my case
Thank you all for reading!
