Quick explanation- I am the Captain of the GGN Moderators Guild- I am the one spearheading the guilds' upgrading proposal, I am the one keeping the SC threads going- along with site moderator Pirhan. Along with the proposal team from the GGNMG, we worked tireless hours with Panagrammic- in PM's and in the guilds Chatroom- getting the proposal fine tuned and then he went and chopped it up, dumped it in SC and let the rest of Gaia kill it. That was the plan all along it seems. And now, we need someone to champion our cause.. Guess it's back to the Facebook campaign and PM's to Lanzer!
That sure explains a lot as to why things aren't getting anywhere.
You're the captain of an unofficial, user run guild that does not represent the entirety of GGN guild owners. You've got almost no understanding of how things work at the HQ level from what I've seen of your various threads in here, and you tend to overreact to pretty much everything. Are 31 question marks, or 16 exclamation points really necessary? It's hard to take someone seriously when they do stuff like that.
Next, you're working with a Site Moderator. While sure, they can shoot messages to the Gaia Office via email or whatever other ways of communication they have, they can't exactly get anything done. Really, when it comes to updates, mods are just like the rest of us.
I don't know how much time you really spent talking with Panagrammic, but in the end he was only a messenger and organizer. He still didn't have the final say in stuff as far as I know. It was likely he went to devs capable of working on guilds and they were the ones that told him migrating stuff was too much work, so see what users in the Spring Cleaning forum thought of the alternatives (Which I agree suck, guilds should have been updated every time the main forums were so as to keep up).
Finally, PMing Lanzer is absolutely the wrong way to go about it, at least how you're suggesting.
This topic is quite frankly pushing harassment by encouraging your guild members to mass PM him. If you want to bring the issue up, make a proper Site Feedback thread. Not something as "bawwww" sounding as this, structure it right, be specific, keep it bumped over the long term when it falls off of the first page. Alternately, have a person or three take the issue to Ask The Admin.
The way you go about things now, and have in the past leaves me completely unsurprised that nothing has been done. Outside of Gaia's issue of not keeping things maintained, your approach is "OMG MY FAVORITE THING DIDN'T GET AN UPDATE WHEN YOU DID UPDATE SOMETHING THAT USES COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CODE/DEVELOPERS!!!", so it isn't likely to get much support. Be just a little more calm, a little more structured. Most importantly, be persistent, but don't scream things like this.
I definitely agree that GGN Guilds are
long overdue for a code update and that it should include migrating previous topics, even if that means shutting down guilds for a week or something. But just screaming won't do anything.
