I've been a gaia user for almost 8 years now, and in the past year or so the barrage of announcements has gotten kind of ridiculous; especially the announcements pertaining to cash shop items. I think that users that have been on the site for a certain amount of time and are aware of the cash shop and buying gaia cash should be allowed to disable any announcements that pertain to it. If I were interested in the cash shop, I would buy gaia cash, and I don't need to be reminded of it 10+ times daily. Creating a filter that can be applied to a users account to block out key tags like "cash shop" "gaia cash" etc wouldn't be too difficult.

It would be nice. Honestly I'd be happy with just a sales schedule instead. The announcements are such a mess right now. I don't know why Gaia won't make a separate subforum for their sale announcements either.
