What i'm looking for is something along the lines of an overture from westerns with the instrumental stylings of Metallica (i loved them from listening to Call of Ktulu). Extraordinarily dark but with a heroic element that starts off subtle but becomes more pronounced towards the end; however, the darkness of the tone should be like it's still masking the hero's better qualities.
