xHello all!

I'm closing the shop up for a bit, unfortunately! Real life has completely taken over and... well, long story short, I inherited a two year old. My free time is now severely limited and I'm just not in the proper mindset to be exhausting myself emotionally in the way that readings require of me. Sorry about that! 6.20.2011 - 4:00pm - I've upped the price of the 21 card reading a little. (Sorry) It's still on a bribe basis, but it usually takes me two to three hours to do the reading and type up the summary and stuff. So any customer after page 4 should bribe a little higher than those before. (Realistically, though, if you can't afford the 21 card, pick something else. The Deck's discussion is basically the same thing, just with fewer cards usually)
6.27.2011 - 2:11am Closed-ish the 21 card reading. It's just so much work ;^; Also: Added the following rule: ♔ Feel Free to Harass me! If you want your reading done faster, come keep me company. It'll keep you on the forefront of my mind.
6.28.2011 - 4:00am - Added Past Customers Post and Added "up next" icon in slots.
6.29.2011 - 4:00am - Added Guest Reader and edited the form appropriately.
6.29.2011 - 11:00pm - Added the (7)8 Ball Reading
7.1.2011 - 10:30pm - Made the 1 card reading free for previous customers and the 3 card, 5 card, and 7 card readings free for customers who pay with an item for my quest. Freebies are available for the life of my shop, but are limited to one per week. However, they will get immediate priority, regardless of how many paying customers I have.
7.23.2011 - 3:30pm - Got my first bad review. :C Surprise surprise, it was rooted in a misconception I had. And here I am going out of my way to avoid them... *sigh*
7.24.2011 - 12:45am - Changed the form a bit (added request for sexuality if love is involved, made year of birth mandatory, eliminated last name. we don't need no stalkers/identity thieves up in here) ; Added the introductory video ; Added description of how I got into Tarot ; Made an announcement about it. : )
8.20.2011 - 10.1.2011 - Closed the shop for reconstruction!
10.01.2011 - Shop is now opened! Changed a lot of the thread around!

I've actually been the biggest skeptic all my life. I was born and raised Catholic, and even after leaving the church to pursue my own ideology (when I was 13, lol), I still remained a skeptic about ghosts and angels/demons and "magic"/"psychics". Then, through a chance encounter, I met my best friend. He was raised in various Christian communities, but he has always had a natural flair for the divine arts. For a few months in the beginning of our friendship, some creepy unexplainable stuff happened (more often than I would have cared to admit), and while I wasn't a "believer", my undying skepticism was shaken quite a bit.

After like, three years of friendship, I finally decided to allow him to give me a reading... and it was incredible. It was spot on, though I still believed that it could've been a coincidence. Then, a few months after that point, he was giving my mother a reading... when the cards revealed that she was going to have another grandchild very soon. Nobody else-- not even my best friend-- knew that my older sister had called me the night before then and told me she was pregnant. I was astonished, and my family actually noticed that all the color left my face. What's more is that he predicted her gender (while my sister was only three months pregnant), and he predicted that she would be born yellow, and she was (she had severe jaundice when she was born). I couldn't believe it, and yet, I kindof could.

He had given me several decks of my own through the years, but I didn't really think to use them, and when I did, it was just whatever. Then one day I was talking to someone I had only just met online. After about three hours of talking, I decided to do a quick little 'test': I asked him if I could guess his past (in very specific details), and guessed it all right. He freaked out and thought I knew him from real life, when I really didn't. After that, I kindof began to come to terms with the fact that I am mildly empathic. I don't feel what others feel, per se, but I'm amazing at reading people (I know what a person's about after seeing their face once, especially when it's in person).

Then, one day in February, one of my good friends was giving readings to his friends, and I was sitting in on them. His mother is a spiritual person, and she has carved a path for him that, in my opinion, he doesn't belong on. She believes him to be a guru, and he tries to fulfill her expectations, even though I believe his gift lies elsewhere. So he allowed me to sit in on three or four readings, and it seemed like he was just pulling some of the stuff out of his a**. It made no sense in conjunction with the meanings behind the cards. That day, I went home, spent HOURS looking online for the right deck (they have a site with like, 2000 different decks, and I went through ALL of them). I found it, bought it, and, thank goodness, it is the perfect deck for me. Many people keep a personal and a public deck, but I can only see having one-- it fits me and works with me.

TL;DR : I was a skeptic, but stuff changed, so I decided that I'd try reading. lol.

What I first liked about k_r3dn0w’s reading was how she started. She made a point to remind me (and most likely her other customers including repeating ones) that tarot reading is not a science and is not set in stone. This shows that our lovely reader takes the precautions to be sure that her customers do not misunderstand what they are receiving from her. She then proceeded to make the reading personal by stating how she went about it and any possible problems she faced. This made me feel as though I was actually involved with this reading and could even imagine myself being there.

As for the actual reading, I can honestly say I am amazed at how accurate k_r3dn0w’s interpretation of the cards was. Though many could argue that this was because I frequently talk to our wonderful reader on a near daily basis… It wouldn’t explain how she managed to expand on things that I have never mentioned on Gaia. So that in itself is completely remarkable to me and what I suppose is a part of what makes tarot an art. So many kudos to you k_r3dn0w.

Personally this is the second time I have received a reading from a tarot shop and surprisingly it is refreshing to see the difference between the readings. It once again proves the point that tarot is not something to be set in stone. It shows individuality and I can guarantee that this shop’s owner easily has that.
