Cade gave an irritated moan and leaned up from his reclined position inside a black 1971 Mercury Cyclone. The car had seen better days; rust spots were apperaing on the body, an obnoxious crack ran diagnoally across the windsheild, and Cade was pretty sure that the sputtering engine was going to give out any day now. But those and the many other flaws the thirty year old car had didn't bother Cade at all right now. The only thing that made him want to scrap the car was the static now coming through on the radio.
The blond blindly flung a hand forward to find the dial in the dark car, twisting it in every way imaginable, trying to find a twinge of something even resembling music. "C'mon..." He muttered, quietly willing the radio to pick up signal. Purely out of frustreation he pounded his fist on the dash over the radio, silencing the static completely.
His frusterations weren't purely because of the aging electronics. Oh no, they went much deeper than that. It wasn't in the detective's idea of a great night off to sit parked in his car outside some stupid 'Better Earth' research facility watching for what ever dumb kids kept burgalrizing the place. He'd gotten the call about an hour ago that most of the police staff was working a robbery and they needed him to steak-out this lab. Oh, he'd complained at first, wondering why they didn't dump the newbie that Max kid on this job, but he'd lost in the end.
And now, here he sat. In darkness and in silence, watching the dim and empty sidewalk for anyone who might spice up his night.
