Bruce jumped lightly, forgetting he'd been on the phone. "Meeting... at... two..." He muttered, writing down the information sloppily. "Um, no, there's nothing else. I guess, go ahead and send up the files? I'd like to go over the records of the past few weeks. I don't know if you noticed, but I haven't been the most active boss. That's going to change," he said, his tone turning a little sour as he spoke.

"Okay. Who exactly was the lunch meeting with?" He asked, somewhat confused. He didn't remember who the meeting was with. "I guess, just reschedule when our schedules mesh again. That's all for now, just send up the files from the last... oh, six weeks." He said, leaning back in his chair and closing down the solitaire game.

Selina Kyle.

"Your meeting was with the Gotham DA sir..." she said rather hesitantly.
"I'll be right up." She quickly hung up the phone and turned around to the filing cabinet, she grabbed the files he had requested and walked down the hallway to her bosses office. Without bothering to knock he pushed the door open and walked up to the desk with 4 quick strides of her long legs. She laid the files down, having to bend over slightly to do so. A beautiful diamond necklace that hung from her neck escaped from her shirt. Her eyes widened as she recognized the very piece of jewelery she had stolen the night before...

[flash back.]
The alarms began to wail as she took the necklace delicately from its holder as if it were an infant. She stuffed it into one of her many pockets on her belt that slung off her thin, black spandex clad form. Turning around with a pleased smile preparing to leave she ran into...the batman.
"we should really stop meeting like this...." she purred quietly as she forced a kiss on him before quickly running off into the night....
[end of flashback.]

She quickly pulled the necklace off and held it in her fist, hoping her boss hadn't noticed.
"well Mr.Wayne if thats all you need I'll be at my desk if you need me...." she said quickly beginning to turn to leave.

The first thing that went through the detective's mind was: Damn, this woman can talk! It took him almost a full minute to process the information she had given him in her rant, and only managed to gain a small amount of understanding of the project. When he snapped out of his stupor, he took her hand and shook it gently. "It's nice to meet you, Doctor. Um, well your operation sounds quite...interesting I guess. The only problem is that, until recently, there hadn't been any break-ins, thefts, or even tagging problems in this area. The PD just likes to check into odd cases. You know, in case he's needed."

With a grin, he walked back over to the door and held it open. "If you're still offering that tour, I'd be happy to take you up on it." It seemed odd to him that he was pulling out his charm on this woman. She seemed like a desk-jockey with no real life, yet he was oddly attracted to her. Of course, it wasn't enough for him to want anything to do with her other than the crime scene, but he figured that it would be nice to try and get on her good side. There was something about her that he couldn't put his finger on. He normally went for types that were a bit more edgier and, though she didn't look the part at all, he sensed something about her that he couldn't read. There had to be more to her, good or bad. He would keep his eye on her, just in case she was hiding something from him. Or, at least, that's what he told himself. "So," he added, "how about it?"

"Gotham D.A., Gotham D.A..." He trailed off, biting his lip thoughtfully as he drummed his fingertips on his mahogony-wooded desk. "Ah, yes, we were going to discuss cuts and losses," he muttered to himself. He dropped his chin to his chest, wondering why they canceled the meeting. He looked up at the door through his eyebrows as his assistant came in.

"Miss Kyle, you are a lifesaver..." He said, looking down at the files with a glint of excitement in his eyes. He caught a glimpse of a rather beautiful diamond necklace, though he didn't get a very good eye-ful. He lifted his eyes from the manilla envelopes, perfectly organized, and looked up at the attractive young blonde. "Selina." He said abruptly, his voice loud enough to get her to stop, and holding a bit of a warning.

Selina's heart raced faster when her boss called her name.
'why did i wear the damn thing?' she thought quickly to herself. Before she turned back around she put on her usual lovely smile and looked at Mr.Wayne through her eyelashes.
"Yes Mr.Wayne?" she said, her smile turning into a light smirk. she bent down over his desk again lightly resting her elbows upon it and cradled her face in her hands.
"Is there something else i could do for you?" her voice purred on.
'stop trying to seduce your boss.' she thought violently to herself. The necklace she had quickly dumped into her shirt before she had turned back to face him was jabbing into her skin rather uncomfortably, making her heart only race a little faster.

Bruce smirked ever so lightly and leaned forward, setting his elbows on his desk as well. He brought his face closer to hers, his eyes flashing in amusement. "Tuck your shirt in, Kyle. We run a tight business here, I wouldn't want to lose you to Corporate." He winked, his smirk growing slightly.

"Also, order some Chow Mein from the chinese restaurant?" He said it in the form of a question, then pulled out a twenty from his wallet and handed it to her, once again sipping at his coffee. "Order something for yourself, and put my lunch in the break room fridge; I plan on working through lunch." He said, opening up the first file and scanning it to get the gist of what it held. Then, shifting his eyes to the top again, he lifted the file and sat back in the chair. He allowed his foot to push him back and forth, swiveling as he read over the seemingly unimportant information.

Selina gave a small bubbly laughter that sounded like tinkling bells before she left the room.
"yes sir." she said as she shut the door behind her.
'thank...god.' she thought to herself while she ordered the Chinese. She didn't bother ordering anything for herself. Instead she pulled out a can of tuna and ate it with a fork while she waited for the delivery to come.

After many hours of emailing, filing and typing, Selina was finally off work. Bruce Wayne hadn't come out of his office yet. She dismissed the thought and went home so she could begin the real fun.

The night was young as Selina jumped from her roof to the dark alley below. her mask hiding the upper part of her face, her crimson lips glinting in the dark light. She had the necklace ready. She was planning to sell it off to some guy for a pretty sum. she placed her back against the wall and ran her hand down the front of her suit waiting for the idiot to show up.
Pamela Isely Poison Ivy

Yet another sigh escaped her lips, this one taking on a more exasperated tone. The police rarely understood what was going on. But what could be expected from a bunch of brainless dopes. “Detective, the city’s crime rate has steadily been going up despite his efforts. Do you honestly think it would be so strange for the lab to suddenly fall victim to break-ins?” She questioned, making her way towards the door Max now held open, the natural sway of her hips visible now that she had discarded the white lab coat. “That laboratory that we were just in is where we store and research our previous failed experiments. So that we can figure out what didn’t work at all and what came close to working.” The doctor explained and took a right down the hall, walking slowly so Max could catch up.

“We don’t have a very large facility. Well, not nearly as large as we would need for what we’re doing to be truly effective. But with any luck we should be getting more funding in the near future.” Pause. “What brings you to Gotham detective? I mean, I assume you’re new since you haven’t been down here for previous investigations.” Suddenly Pamela had become very aware that her behavior could be considered impolite. She certainly lacked certain social skills, a result of her general aversion to people. “I don’t talk to other people too often.” She explained, thinking out loud. Her eyes cast a glance towards the detective. Another door passed by. “Our more successful research slides.”

Her mind traveled back to what had brought her to Gotham. It had mostly been this job, though she could have just as easily worked anywhere. But the Gotham was crying out so desperately to be purified. It was perfect for her own testing. How was she supposed to know that Batman would show up the same year as Poison Ivy? Pamela brought herself back out of her thoughts once again, cursing her own distractions silently. “Or is that too personal a question Detective?” She asked, glossing over the pause and smirking subtly. As if to hide the smirk, or at least control it, she bit down on her lower lip gently, still awaiting his answer.

[Harley Quinn]

After she got word of where the Joker was, she swiftly changed into Harley. She fed Bud and Lou, her twin hyenas, prior to getting into the car to get to the ship. On the trip there, her mind was crammed with all the potential things that may occur following the death of Gotham’s great Batman. Harley was more than joyous about joining this group. She wanted to identify who else would be taking part in it. Ooo, I just can't wait until me and my puddin' can be alone, with no stupid bat getting in the way of everything!

Upon arriving at the vessel, Harley ran to her puddin', and embraced him. "Sorry I'm late Mista J, I did make breakfast y'know.” She wanted to remind him of what he missed out on. Harley’s eyes soon locked on the stuff that was coming off the boat. “What’s all this stuff for?" She asked, pointing at the computer towers, TV, and all the other objects. "Oh, and what're we doing today puddin'?" Harley asked, wanting to take her mind off the plans for a little while. She did however, wanted to tell him about the gang that she would soon be joining, but was going to wait until whatever he had planned for this Saturday was complete.

[Harleen Quinzel]
Max.

Following after her, Max had to distract himself from her lips. Women chewing on their lips had always been a thing for him. Nevertheless, he wanted to keep his mind on the task at hand, so he took to following her slower than he normally would. He wanted to have as much time as possible to look around at everything that could form a reasonable explanation out of why anyone would want to break in here. After a few moments to himself, he smiled and spoke up. "Yeah, you're right. I am pretty new to the city. And, I guess the thing that brought me out here the most was my old town, if that makes sense." He paused and tried to think of what he really wanted to say. "That is, I was tired of my home town, as beloved as it was. I needed to change something and when this job popped up, I couldn't turn it down. So far, it hasn't really been all I had hoped it would be, though..."

He looked at each door as they passed by, listening to her small description of what happened in there. But, still he wondered just what she might be hiding from him. She seemed trustworthy enough, but there was just this air about her; as if there was something that she desperately wanted to show the world, but knew she couldn't. Max allowed his hands to slip into his pockets as he began to relax around her more. It seemed pretty weird and almost surreal that he was here, on a case his very first day on the job. Whenever he thought about it, Max got the shivers and almost thought he was dreaming at one point. But, no matter how excited he was, he couldn't let her know just how new he was to the job, or she would take advantage of his inexperience.

Unexpectedly, Max began to get a familiar feeling in the pit of his stomach. It unsettled him and turned his cheeks slightly red at the thought of what was happening. He tried to hold himself back, but knew that it was useless. He gave in and a yawn slipped through his lips. Max covered his mouth with a sheepish look and mumbled a "sorry." He knew that had been incredibly rude of him, but there was no way he could have held it back without looking like a moron (and that was something he really didn't want to do in front of her.) He just hoped that she wouldn't get too offended by it. After all, it wasn't her. He was just really tired.

Barbara had driven a long way back from college to come back home her black Mitsubishi Eclipse packed with all of her belongings to start moving into her new home later that evening. She was just planning on unloading her car and going out on the town with Angela after she dropped in on her family,of course. She sighed at the fifth stop light she was stuck behind to get to her new apartment. Luckily for her (and mainly for the sanity of her mother) it was only a few blocks away from a decent meal at home which equaled time to hangout with her little brother James, junior. A small smile crept to her lips as she parked her car in it's designated spot at the complex and picked up a big box and dragged her suit case behind her finding her way towards the spot she would call home.

Barbara let go of the suitcase as she searched her pockets for the key. She let out a loud sigh of relief when she placed the key into the door and opened it. It seems her father and mother had already struck and had her big furniture already settled inside. "Good.. That helped me out quite a bit." She said happily as she dragged her bag and box inside the room and then quickly unloaded her vehicle. After all that work she flopped onto her couch with a thud and laid down. 'I can pop in and visit dad tonight and have him show me where to go. That way I won't be lost when I go in on Monday.' She thought with a grin on her face. With that thougth and a quick glance outside she got her keys and went back outside towards her car.

Once inside she backed out of her parking space and headed out towards the Gotham City Police Station. She drove at a decent speed and arrived at the station abit quicker than she expected. Barbara knew for a fact that her father was still working since she noticed his car parked behind the station. She noticed the starbucks on her drive over and decied to get her dear dad a drink and a snack to munch on. Plus she was craving something sweet and cold. With that she began to walk down the street with her purse slung over her shoulder and her coat flapping a bit behind her.
Pamela Isely Poison Ivy

“I don’t think Gotham is ever what anyone expects it to be.” Pamela reasoned, thinking about her own experience in Gotham. She had come not only for the job, but to escape her own past. She had arrived in Gotham around the same time as Batman. Quite the coincidence in her book. As the pair walked through the otherwise empty halls of the facility, Isely rattled off what was behind each door and occasionally delved into an explanation of what things were used for. Monotonous? Yes, but she enjoyed her work for the most part. She got to do what she loved even if it wasn’t her ideal goal at the moment. Certain things could be adjusted after all. Like what exactly the science in the labs were being used for. Even though it seemed her focus was on the doors, the yawn did not escape her attention. Turning around to face him once again, she fixed her gaze. “Am I boring you detective? I apologize.” Despite the sarcastic implications of the question, it didn’t show any trace in her voice. After all, she wouldn’t be surprised for other people to find their job boring. “Or was something keeping you up all night?”

Her eyes drifted over towards a clock on the wall. “If you’ll excuse me detective, now that the tour is finished I must get back to work. You may look around some more if you wish, we have nothing to hide. And I trust when you’re finished you are capable of showing yourself out.” Pamela began her walk back to the lab they had originated in, her heels clicking against the laminated floors of the hallway and the sway of her hips returning with the movement. “Oh,” the scientist turned around again rather abruptly. “I’ll be here for a couple more hours if you need to ask any more questions. We just want to put this horrible business behind us once and for all.” She added on for his benefit before she turned back around and resumed her walk.

Once she had made it back to her lab, she sat down once more. It was shaping up to be a busier day than she had originally planned. With an exasperated sigh she turned her attention back to the disorderly slides.

Barbara Gordon

Barbara now cluched a beverage holder built for two and a small bag of sweets as she managed to kick the door open and let herself out of the building. Her long red hair floating gently in the breeze as she made her way back to the Gotham City Police Department. She reached the stone steps and began her march up to the door only to have someone on their way out open the door for her. "Thank you so much!" She added as she just gracefully walked into the building with ease. She moved to the front counter and sat the things she had in her hands down on it and looked at the receptionist.

"Hello, Ms..."She began as she noticed the name plate on the counter. "Hernandez, but may I ask you where the Commissioner is?" She asked meekly. The woman glanced at her and raised an eye brow. "Why do you need to meet him?"She asked bluntly as she looked Barbara over. "He's old go find someother man to pester." She added. Barbara bit her lip but remained silent her frustration nearly getting out of control. "I kind of wanted to have coffee with my Father. I just got back and I start working here Monday morning.."She added as pleasently as possible. Mom always said try to wound them with kindness. The receptionist went wide eyed and pointed in the direction towards his office.

Barbara then picked up her things and began walking in that direction. She looked at each door as she passed and found the one she was looking for and knocked on it. "Come in." Said a voice that belonged to Commissioner Gordon. Barbara managed to get the door open without spilling or dropping anything and walked in. "Suprise..I brought you something to eat." She said as she walked over to his desk. Gordon stared at his daughter unable to think of anything to say. "Um...Thank you Barbara. Your Mother didn't say you were here yet.."He began as he took his coffee and bread.

"Thats because I haven't been over there yet.. Each time I go it's kind of hard to get out and do other things.. Plus I would love it if you gave me a tour...You know show me my office so I won't get lost on Monday."She added as she plopped herself down in the seat in front of him.
"We kind of need a new TV, since the other one kind of got busted after I lost against batty last time." He said and loaded the TV onto the truck. "The computer towers, I figured that I could kidnap an egghead and force them to design a machine capable of not only destroying batman but giving the residents of this city, a nice laugh." he said as he loaded the last of the items onto the truck. "I figured that we'd grab gotham's attention via TV and guess who the main star will be." he said, showing off a wicked grin.

"Why, it'll be batty." he whispered into her ear as he told the henchman to take the items back to the hideout. "Now, we will be heading off to the TV station and give gotham's police dept. a little run for their money." he pulled out a few playing cards. "Lets head off to the TV station, I bet Gordy will love it when I get back on TV again." He said, his voice twisted with anger and humor. "Harly dear, please take up as my driver and I'll be the famous director." he said, air quoting director. "Gotham, You belong to me now, I shall bring a smile to your face, even if it means making it real." he said and laughed a little.

Barbara Gordon

Barbara glanced at her father and tried to think of what could possibly have him preoccupied. "Let me guess you have a case and you don't want to share it with me." She asked as she leaned forward in her seat and took a sip from her frozen Starbucks drink. "Does it have something to do with the bat or the clown Dad?" She asked as she took another longer sip.

Gordon rubbed his forehead and peered up to look his daughter in the eyes. "You know your to nosy sometimes...It reminds me of your mother." He added as he tried to think it over. "It's not about the Joker... So far he's been out of sight which is good for us. It's something that is kind of out of the ordinary.. Several robberies near the edge of town. You shouldn't worry yourself with my cases Barbara I have a new guy on it." Commissioner Gordon then dismissed the subject.

Barbara frowned as she continued to finish off her drink. "Who's this new guy?" She asked as she felt the need to pry some more. "You'll meet him when he gets back. Now let me show you your new office and hopefully it will keep you out of trouble." Gordon added as he pulled himself up from his seat and finished up his coffee. Barbara soon too stood up from her seat and followed him towards the door. Her mind was a bit puzzled about the fact that the Joker wasn't up to no good at the moment.

Gordon opened the door and walked out only to be followed by his daughter down the halls. Her boots clicking softly behind him. "Aren't you cold?" He asked trying to hint that she should be wearing pants instead of the skirt she was wearing. "Not really.. So how has James been this past week?" she inquired as she walked next to him. Her father glanced at her and sighed. "Oh your brother is the same as always.. Nothing new other than he's ecstatic your back." He added as He finally reached the door to the office he was searching for. He quickly opened the door and Barbara walked in and looked around quickly.

"Oh.. This is quaint... Will I be aloud to add some color?" She asked as she looked at the blank walls and the desk that had paper stacks with files scattered everywhere. The computer on the desk was a bit dusty and ancient looking which made her cringe. "I guess you haven't upgraded the systems here yet.." She added as she exited the office. 'Oh yes I have my work ahead of me..' She thought as she moved through the building her father now walking behind her.

"Are you going to see your mother?" He asked as she reached the front entrance." No.. Not tonight.. How about I see her Monday?" She asked as her father frowned at her. "I have plans Angela was supposed to meet me and we were going to some kind of costume party thing.. I promise to go tomorrow evening ok.." She added with pleading eyes as she held the main door open in preparation to leave. "Fine Barbara but at the very least give her a call and tell her your here. You can say your just to tired from the drive over and your going straight to bed." He reasoned. Barbara nodded as she exited the building waving goodbye.

She moved quickly towards her car and was going to cruise around town. Her other job should be roughly ten blocks away. Why not she thought as she still patiently waited for the phone call from Angela. What could it hurt to go take a small trip to Wayne Enterprises and quickly request a small tour before she started the following weekend. She pulled out of herspot and began to drive toward Wayne Enterprises stopped by the occasional stop light but still able to reach her destination. She parked her vehicle in the garage and began to go down the steps to make her way towards the main entrance.
