October was a great month. Spooktacular October which was also the start of Fall semester, something that was a blessing in it's own way. School was a tiresome thing, but it was also a way to be out of the house for hours on end without needing an explanation. It was a Get Out Of Jail Free card in the Hart household. Something that would not be taken lightly. So as Beatrice Hart sat on one of the stone benches with her legs stretched out as far as possible, all she did was lightly beat her heels against the pavement as she sucked down her orange and mixed berry smoothie. It was tart and just the way she liked it. Breakfast weren't really her thing, never were and never had been unless they were fluffy golden waffles or thin crepes stuffed with fruit. Two things her mother would never ever allow her to waste ingredients on. So instead she settled for what she could make in a blender or the occasional hungry moment where she relied on toast to pull her through.

Swaying back and forth lightly while her music blared from her earbuds; it wasn't until one bored whine that she flopped over to her side and took over the remainder of the bench in order to lie on her back. "Cece, you were suppose to be here ten minutes ago...!" Chewing mindlessly on a strand of her curly blonde hair, she swished her legs that dangled off the edge back and forth as if the motion would somehow help her missing companion problem. "Ohhhh Ceceliaaaa! Where are you I miss you so! This stone bench is so cold and hard and I just don't know what to doooo--" Taking a long sip of her smoothie, she was unaware how loud her voice was carrying due to the earbuds. "The sky is ugly! But I still love it so, this bench ain't so cold once I've warmed itttt, now rabbits please leave before I take three; oh woe I'm bored so very very booored~" Saying everything in a singsongy voice, she bursted into complete laughter when radishes and shoes got into the mix. Her bored was never a good thing.

Adjusting her position on the bench after everything 'song', it wasn't until the fourth one that the tart obsessed girl hung upside down with her hair everywhere and her legs hooking over the backrest of the bench. "It's the, top of the morning its the boring-ish time; most of us fighting the sleep off with jaaaavaaa! But oh look there is me with the smoothest of smoothies being energetic and splendiferous all the saaaameeee!" Finishing it off with a left jazz hand and a loud slurp of the remainder of her smoothie, a frown came to Beatrice when she sucked it dry. "Well drat. One really is the loneliest number... Maybe I'll have to stop by one of the stores nearby and make it smoothie number two." With nothing but her mutterings and random singing outbursts, there was nothing really else for her TO do.

Living alone had been a thing to get used to for Sage. Instead of waking up to the tea already made and breakfast on the stove she had to get up earlier than what used to be to do those things for herself. She'd been alone nearly a month now and rarely left her apartment unless she had to for groceries or other errands that new fell on her instead of her mother. It took a lot of getting used to, not returning home to find anyone waiting for her with a fresh brewed kettle of tea and cookies waiting in the kitchen. Slow going, Sage would say, but she'd gotten there. And she'd been preparing herself for the first day of the semester and she didn't want to get out of bed.

Her whole world had become her mother and their little place. Neither of them branched out to make friends with the neighbors or anyone in the town actually. They'd kept to themselves and kind of forgotten the real reason for being on Rosegate. The Liddel women had moved to Rosegate in order to give Sage a more "normal" way of life but instead hadn't made an effort to make that happen. So when Alice had left her daughter, Sage promised her that she would try and make friends instead of being the hermit she wanted to be. So she'd signed up for classes at the local college and got a job at a coffee shop making teas and coffees for the locals. It gave her enough money to pay her bills and help her save some money as well. Of course, her mother left her with a sizable fund in case she needed extra money for emergencies. She hadn't had to touch it but it was nice to know that she had the funds just in case.

As her alarm went off next to her, Sage reached over to turn off the buzzing. She hadn't slept well, having woken up about an hour before her alarm and just stayed in bed, thinking about the day ahead. It was scary for her, facing the large campus without her best friend to be there for her at home. Of course, there would be letters in the mail every other day as the mother and daughter reported on their lives and the people around them. Sage had gotten a letter the day before from her mother, telling her everything she needed to hear from her. While she had wished the elder Liddel woman could have said it to her face and hugged her while doing it, she understood that Alice belonged in Wonderland; Sage was beginning to think she did too.

Pulling herself into a seated position on the bed, the green eyed teenager looked at the time finally and gave a defeated sigh. She couldn't miss the first morning of classes, she knew that. It had been the promise she made herself when she signed up for the semester. "I promised Mum too," she muttered to herself as she pushed herself away from the mattress to stand at the side of the bed. One yawn and a lazy stretch later, Sage was headed for the dresser. While it promised sunshine and warmth outside the windows of her small apartment, Sage knew better. The wind tossed leaves around lazily and she could almost smell the crisp autumn air outside. It was a chilly day and she knew it might possibly rain later.

So dressed in skinny jeans and her favorite jacket, she laced up her black boots while eating a hurried breakfast of pop-tarts and milk. And then it was a brisk walk to campus not fair away thanks to student housing just a few blocks south of Rosegate's college. Blonde hair pulled into a messy pony tail as she hurried to campus, her first class just after 11 am and she needed something to eat besides a half stale strawberry pop-tart she's wolfed in 30 seconds. As the last of the so-called pastry was swallowed, Sage passed by a familiar face, or rather body, draped across a bench on campus. She stopped to look at the female, green eyes clouded with confusion before she laughed to herself, amused with- oh what was her name? Berenice? Bethany? Beatrice?

Shaking her head, Sage gave the girl no second thought as she went in search of the first classroom on her schedule. English 101, it read, and she found it easily enough. With a satisfied smile, she slipped her bag off her shoulder and onto the ground before sliding down the wall and taking a place next to it. Reaching into the well worn bag that needed replacing four patches and three stitchings ago, Sage pulled out a book. From the binding it could be told she adored the novel along with the dogeared pages and the inky notes written into the margins. Her script littered nearly every page with character notes or thoughts from the scenes typed in her hands.

She had nearly an hour before the class was to even congregate in the room, so why not pass the morning reading? She could find a more suitable breakfast after this class, where she could sit and enjoy a hotter meal without being rushed. She only took the one class in the morning everyday and then one evening class once a week. That was the one she was most looking forward to; creative writing held her passions and interest for as long as she could remember. Having grown up in such a bizarre world, Sage had more than enough imagination to create a thousand different universes to share with the world and it meant she rarely had to actually talk with people, she could just write and stay hidden away just as she liked.

Splash! The cold water felt good on her heated skin and helped settle her nerves. Another night of next to no sleep because of nightmares. The only difference between this night and all the others was that she hadn't called her aunt and asked her to come over. There came a point where Zara felt like she just needed to suck it up and go it alone. However, she was sorely regretting that decision right now because today was the first day of classes. Which meant dealing with...guys...on no sleep at all. Alright, so maybe she'd gotten an hour. But that was a huge maybe. The hours had all blurred together after a while. It didn't help that the apartment building made creepy noises in the night and that she now lived alone. That combination in itself had caused her quite a few sleepless nights. Looking at her reflection in the mirror, Zara sighed slightly at the faint yet noticeable bags there. Awesome. First day of classes and I'm gonna look like a zombie because I just don't have it in me to spend a half hour on makeup, she thought as she walked out of the bathroom.

Zara changed into some clean clothes slid her shoes on before she grabbed her purse and left the apartment, making sure that it was locked behind her. Some might call her paranoid for it and they'd be absolutely right. She had every reason to be paranoid, in her mind. It was early and the air had a chill to it though she didn't mind. Just like she didn't mind that she'd probably be sitting on campus for a bit before her only class of the day. It was Psychology 101 and from what she'd heard of the teacher from previous students it was bound to be a good class. But what to do to pass the time before she had to be in the room? She could go grab breakfast though she doubted it would stay down too well. Maybe she could stop at the diner and check her schedule for the week. It should have been posted by now, in theory. She could grab some toast or something while she was there and see if there were any extra shifts she could pick up.

So mind made up, she made her way to the diner. It was busy already, though that wasn't too unusual. The place was almost always packed and even when it wasn't full it was still quite busy. There was always something to be done whether it was bussing tables or putting away the dishes. All things that most people would find tiresome after a while. Zara just found it quite relaxing, most days anyway. She poked her head into the back and asked one of the cooks to get her some toast when he had a spare moment before she walked into the tiny little break room to look at the schedule. Originally, she hadn't been scheduled to work at all this week since it was her first week of classes. But she had to make money to pay the bills and someone had gotten injured the last week of summer vacation anyway so her name was scattered across a few days. Not too busy, but just enough to keep her pretty well occupied, she noticed.

Grabbing a glass of water, Zara took a seat at the counter and kept mostly to herself as she ate her toast. There were a few regulars who stopped to say the usual hellos and wish her a good first day of classes. Nothing too uncommon as most of the diner's customers were all regulars who knew most of the waitresses by name. Especially Carter, who'd been her longer than Zara could even think back. Where was that redhead, anyway? She was almost always here. Maybe she'd run to the ladies room or something. Glancing down at her phone, Zara made note of the fact that she had about a half hour left before her class was supposed to start so she set some money on the counter for her toast and water. She could have paid later, yeah, but she had a feeling she'd probably forget by the time she got back here tonight.

The walk to campus took her a good twenty minutes and she spent the next five looking for her classroom. Despite having attended this college for a year now, she still had trouble finding things sometimes. Thank god they made maps or she never would have found it because the classroom was tucked into a back hallway of a building she'd never even heard of. Then again, that might be due to the fact that most of her classes in previous semesters had been math or language related. Zara took a seat near the middle and waited, hoping she might know somebody in the class. Otherwise it was going to be a long hour and a half.

"Finn! Finlay Darling get in here now!!" A screetch filled the Darling-Finch home as well as the sound of angry chittering of a rodent. All the eldest Darling had wanted to do was clean out the attic. Simple task right? Well no, no it wasn't in the slightest. Apparently a family of squirrels had so kindly made their home up there and were now arguing with the beyond frazzled owner of the place. "You CANNOT stay here. This is MY house, not yours. We've been here for years while you've been here for oh, probably only a few months." A frustrated hand raked through the top of her hair and remained there as her eyes squeezed tightly closed while she counted to three in her head. This was not what she wanted to be doing on her day off from work. Cleaning and groceries. That was it! Nothing more and nothing less, but no. She had a bunch of rodents to deal with instead.

Maybe if she had been a princess, Carter could have gotten these stupid rodents to leave. Use some magical singing and the batting of her pretty eyelashes. Maybe throw in some magical tears while she was at it. Hell, maybe she could just get Artemis to come in and throw them a few blocks away; or see if any of the wild ones wanted a quick snack. "LOOK. If you don't leave right now I'll--" Interrupted by a nut being thrown at her knee; that was just the last straw. "THAT IS IT. YOU FIVE ARE LEAVING--SQUEAK SQUEAK SQUEAKITY DO YOU UNDERSTAND NOW?" With broom in hand she advanced on them with big heavy steps. Yet before she could even get the first on in, their amble little feet quickly scurried around her and made it down the attic steps. "THATS RIGHT! YOU BETTER RUN!!!" Chasing after them, the grand chase in the Darling-Finch house quickly began.

Through the halls, around the kitchen table, in the laundry room, and even a little slap-stick chasing through all the rooms. "Scram! Get out! GO!!!" Beating the broom behind their stupid furry tails, Carter gave a cry of triumph and pumped her fist into the air when she successfully eradicated the menaces from their rickety old home with a simple slam of the door. Hurrying over to the nearest window in the living room, she leaned over the couch as she opened the window to poke her head out. "YEAH YOU GUYS BETTER SQUEAK-SQUEAKITY RUN!!!" Scrunching up her nose and lips curling up into a smile, the red-head stayed there in all her gloating glory. So yeah, maybe she didn't have the whole princess thing down. But she certainly did have her father's spirit; even if she hated the old codger.

When she finished her glorified gloating, the young woman closed the window and dusted her hands against the other in satisfaction. "Ain't no squirrels got anything on me." With a snap of her fingers and a brushing off of her shoulders; she made her way to the kitchen where a sloppily wrapped present with the name 'Finlay' scrawled across it. "Finn! Come into the kitchen! I have something for you!" Finding that getting rid of squirrels was more than enough attic cleaning, she decided to go about with the perk of gift giving instead. For two years she waited for this very day, the day she could give her baby brother all the hope and dreams in the world in just one little box. Tuition and more.

Lance was up and ready to head to the office since six in the morning. He'd been heading in earlier and earlier recently, trying to get ahead on a case he'd been assigned. That meant less sleep and less time to eat and in the Andrews family, not eating was like a sin. So of course, like clockwork Lance heard a knock on his door and he glanced at the time to confirm his suspicion. Samuel was surely bouncing on his heels on the other side of the door, a bag in hand. Lance reached up and slid his reading glasses off and gave a curt affirmative to open the door. The door tore open and in stepped his twin, grinning larger than the Chesire Cat. "Mornin' L," Sam greeted before Lance could say anything. His twin stopped in front of his desk and brought the messenger's bag he'd had draped across his body around to his front, popping open the straps. "Working hard or hardly working?" he asked to which Lance rolled his eyes but nonetheless smirked at. Every time Sam came to his office he asked that same cheesy question. Every. Time.

"I don't slack off Sam," Lance replied, pointedly looking at the papers scattered across his desk. Not much happened in a small town that required legal help but when there was a lawyer needed, he always got the job. No matter what people say about him or how cold he is to others, Lance was an excellent lawyer. Sam looked up from his bag and frowned and Lance heaved a small sigh, knowing what was coming.

"Yeah I know. That's why I come here everyday. Y'know, besides wanting to just hang out with you," the twin replied before reaching back into his bag and pulling out a take-a-way box in a plastic bag. He gently set the box down on the edge of his brother's desk then glanced back up at him to see Lance giving him a blank stare. "Come on. I'm sure the only thing you had today was some coffee and those gross saltines you seem to have grown accustomed to," he stated, chuckling a little. A tiny smile broke out on Lance's face and Sam started laughing. "Seriously man, only pregnant women enjoy that stuff the way you do."

"Hey, hey, The day I stop eating those is the day you stop wearing those ugly sweaters you like everywhere," Lance replied, smirking as he reached for the box. Sam feigned hurt and dramatically placed his hand on his chest, gasping.

"I'll have you know, ugly sweaters are the most wonderful thing on this planet," he snapped back. Lance gave a short chuckle then popped the box open, the smell of food filling the room. The smile on his face started to drop and Sam shoved his hands in his pockets as a pregnant silence overtook them.

"She helped you make this, didn't she?" Lance muttered, glancing up at Sam. The twin was looking at his shoes sheepishly and he gave a little nod. Lance sighed again and set the box on the desk.

"Come on Lance, you know she loves cooking for you...And she misses you. I don't understand why you won't just talk to Mom," Sam started but Lance cut him off with a pointed glare.

"Enough. I don't want to talk about it," he stated in a tone of finality. He glanced at the time again then turned in his chair, facing away from his brother. "You'll be late if you stick around here any longer. I'll see you later." Sam sighed a little and turned, heading for the door. He would have told his brother that he didn't have to work that day but Lance's mood had already gone sour and sticking around wasn't going to help.

"Yeah, I'll see you later L," he said before leaving the office. Lance groaned and put his head in hands. He wanted to hate Sam so badly but he just couldn't and the rumbling in his stomach betrayed his thought to toss the food his brother had just brought him. No matter how much he resented his mother, she was still an excellent cook and the smell of her food always make him hungry. Instead of tossing it, Lance pushed the box to the side and picked up a sheet of paper. He could eat after he finished dotting his I's and crossing his T's. With a wiggle of his fingers on his right hand and a bit of magic, his pen snapped up to his hand and he began doing just so.

who told you you're allowed to rain on my parade?

Samuel left his brother's office a little down trodden, his hands shoved deep in his pockets. He wished his brother could get over what ever it was that was keeping him from their mother. He of course didn't know that he was the cause of the rift between them and if he had, he'd have dragged him to their mother's house that instant. Sam stopped outside the law firm and took a calming breath, rubbing the back of his head. "One step at a time..." he mumbled as he started down the street towards his mother's restaurant. He hummed to himself as he strolled down the sidewalk and when he finally made it to Tiana Palace, his mood had already lifted. Pushing the door open, the smell of food and the heat of the fire blazing in the back hit him, a feeling he knew all too well. "Morning all," he greeted some of the patrons there for a late breakfast as he stepped in, letting the door swing closed behind him.

"Sammy?" he heard his mother's voice from somewhere behind the kitchen counter as he drew near. He stopped to give a little kid a quick hi-five then stuck his head over the counter. He met the sight of the woman sticking a pan in one of the ovens before standing up to see him. "Did you see Lance for the morning?" she asked, leaning over the counter to kiss his cheek.

"Yeah. He's working himself to death as usual," Sam replied with a sigh. "Don't worry about him though Ma. He can't resist your cooking; you know that," he added when Tiana's smile wavered. She nodded then glanced up over his shoulder suddenly. Sam was about to glance over to see who she was looking at when he felt a hand land on his shoulder and his father's head showed up next to his. "Oh! Hey dad. You need any help around here?" he asked. Naveen grinned but shook his head, jostling Sam a bit.

"No. No, it's your day off. You don't need to take a day off from the hospital just to come and work here," Naveen told him. Sam chuckled and reached up to straighten his father's hat then pushed off the counter.

"Fine, I'll just go...I don't know, take a walk. Enjoy nature," Sam replied chuckling. "But first, let me get an iced tea to go," he added. He reached for his wallet but a pointed look from Tiana stayed his hand. It was clear where Lance had gotten that evil eye from. Sam sheepishly returned his hands to the counter and Tiana handed him the drink a few moments later. "Thanks Ma. See you two later," he said on his way out.

"Bye Sweetie," his heard his mother call out before he stepped out of the shop, back into the chill October air. He took a nice long sip of the sweet drink then moseyed down the sidewalk. Perhaps he'd go and see if Louis needed any help setting up his club that night. The day was fresh and he was just getting started.

A knock on the door woke her and Vivienne yawned sleepily before pushing herself out of bed. If she took too long her dad would just make a racket so she managed to grab a robe to put over her pajamas and answered the door, scratching her head as she did. "Yep?” Her father smiled down at her, obviously used to the young woman waking up in less than an instantaneous fashion. Rapunzel could wake up almost instantly and Eugene could as well on most days, but Vivienne had a tendency to be sleepy until someone pushed a warm mug of tea into her hands, which was just what her father was doing. She sipped at it for a while, smiling at the peach flavor as she slowly started to wake up. She had to go to campus, right, that meant getting dressed and stuff. Blinking rapidly at her room she thanked her father for the tea and he laughed at her as he left, then she made her way over to the dresser. "Clothes…. Clothes, clothes, clothes. What clothes do I want to wear today…?” She sipped at her tea for a few more seconds before setting the mug down on the dresser and moving to her closet instead. She grabbed a pale purple sundress with a flower design embroidered along the edges and placed it on her bed, then dug through her drawers until she found a comfortable pair of blue jeans to wear under it. Pleased with her choice of clothing, Vivienne finished her tea and hopped in the shower.

By the time she was showered and dressed, it was getting a little to be about time for her to go, since she planned on heading out early so she could visit her bestest friend in the world. Being an adult didn’t mean that she couldn’t be a little childish sometimes and Vivienne was definitely a lot like her mother in that manner, she couldn’t help but get excited very easily. On her way out the door her mother handed her some money to buy some overly expensive campus food and she was on her way, not directly to campus of course, she had made sure to leave enough time to spend with Camillia, after all, any day she didn’t get to see her best friend was a sad day indeed.

She swung by the florist’s shop and walked on in, grinning almost madly because she was never anything but ecstatic to see Cam and all her lovely flowers. "Cam! Cam! Cammy!” she practically sang on her way inside the shop, bouncing over to her friend and giving her a hug the moment she set eyes on her. "You look as good today as every day! We need to set up a day when you can come over and we can do each other’s hair again!” She grinned, her face bright as can be, she was practically glowing just because she got to spend some time with her friend before what would probably be a dreadfully boring day of classes, but she was getting close to done and then once she graduated maybe Cam would let her help out at the shop.

Breakfast was two bagels and then Constantine Jeremiah Hook was off to work, or at least, he would have been had he not been surprised with a large amount of spray painted graffiti the moment he’d arrived. The man stared at the mess for a moment and frowned, grumbling silently to himself as he took in the bright yellow and orange paint covering the outside of his workshop. It was a good thing he didn’t leave any of his work outside or the supposed “heroes” that liked to torment him might have sprayed “Captain Loser” on the boats as well. "Can’t even be slightly creative, can they.” he huffed, crossing his arms and shaking his head. Captain Loser? Really? He couldn’t even be offended by it, he was more upset at how stupid they were and obviously lacking in originality. Perhaps if he stopped painting over it whenever it happened on a near weekly basis, all the paint would have coagulated into some sort of interesting “hip” collage of insults that he could at least be moderately impressed by, but that would only push customers away and it was easier just to have the workshop be coated in a dull brown paint.

Unfortunately he was fresh out of paint and hadn’t bothered to get more the last time he’d run out, the corner of a previous insult could still be seen in neon green paint on the corner of the building. He’d have to buy more paint. Or actually go out of his way to keep these assholes from spray painting his workshop at least twice a month. He continued to frown as he walked away from his workshop, leaving it locked up. He was at least certain he could keep anyone from getting inside and dealing actual damage to the goods he made, but if someone did manage, he would hunt them down and make them wish they’d never thought to get on his bad side. Whether he liked it or not, Jerry still had to deal with the stigma that was his father’s name, everyone knew who Captain Hook was and they knew that as his son, Jerry was just as much of an a**, even if he did hate the man.

Heading back into town he paused by a couple of different shops, but he knew that the average security system wouldn’t do too much to keep heroes away so he needed something better, something with magic. He didn’t have any magic, his mother was a bar wench and his father a pirate, magic didn’t run in the family, but he could probably get a hold of some kind of magical artifact if he went to the right place. As he continued looking, his eyes landed on the magic antique shop and with a shrug decided that he might as well give it a shot. As he entered the building a little bell went off, alerting the owner or cashier or whoever to his presence and he walked right up to the front desk, he had a question and didn’t want to waste his whole morning looking through a bunch of stuff he didn’t know anything about. There was a woman there, luckily enough, so he could at least get to the point. "You got anything that will keep assholes from painting on my shop’s walls?” He was certainly a bit brusque but conversing with people wasn’t the easiest thing in the world for him, especially when he went out of his way to come across as an a*****e, though he didn’t have to try too hard for that.

Desideria had woken up early and spent nearly a half an hour taking a scalding shower to help her warm up. The weather was getting colder and she would be chilled easily enough on a regular basis. Slowly and with a semi-permanent frown on her face, she had readied herself for the day, very displeased that she had not been able to get all of her classes later in the day. She would have to deal with it, of course, but that didn’t mean that Desideria had to like it. She layered a large ocean blue sweater over a black long sleeved shirt and a pair of jeans with warm boots to keep her feet from freezing, it just took a well air conditioned room for her to be cold and unlike her mother, she didn’t like being cold and it definitely bothered her greatly. Eventually though she would be forced from her apartment and to campus. It was her first semester as a college student but she wasn’t feeling particularly overwhelmed or nervous, it was just going to be another school with a lot of people she had to make sure she didn’t care about. At least Remus was lenient with her scheduling at the library and would work around her school schedule.

Her breakfast consisted of oatmeal, it was warm and it was easy to make, so she didn’t have to bother with any sort of ridiculous recipe or face yet another cooking disaster. There had always been servants to cook for her at home, but Desideria had elected not to bring any with her, they were all terrified of her for one and she didn’t want to risk hurting anyone else either. At least she had a second room in the apartment that her parents had designed so that she could remain inside without her powers making her a danger to anyone else. She had spent a lot of time in that room in the few months that she’d been in Rosegate, but she was thankful to have it in the first place. At least she wasn’t hurting anyone.

She trudged to campus, still frowning, her platinum blond hair had been messily braided down her back and she was glad to not have to pay any more attention to it for the remainder of the day. She glanced at the list of classes in her hand and sighed, wandering around the campus until she finally found the room she needed to get to. It took a while since she knew next to nothing about the campus, but she had eventually found it, with a few minutes to spare and entered the room, taking a seat near another girl in the center of the room. She had found that most people liked to sit near the front or the back so the middle would be the place where she was least likely to get in trouble for other people talking. Her blue eyes glanced over at the young woman beside her and she debated silently if she should bother to introduce herself, but it had become a custom for Desi to get to know at least one person in each of her classes so that if she missed a day at least she had someone she could contact for missed assignments. "Hello.” Unfortunately getting to know people wasn’t particularly easy for someone who spoke with little to no emotion in her voice. What to say next was also a bit difficult for her, but she decided she might as well introduce herself, that should make things easier, right? "I’m Desideria, it’s nice to meet you.”

Though she, like most other students, had been preparing herself to resume her classes after a nice little break, she wasn't particularly excited about it. In her mind, school was simply going and dealing with the idiocy of her fellow classmates for several hours each day. Though she didn't mind it (she was used to dealing with stupid people), she wasn't exactly thrilled about it either.

At least she would have Beatrice to keep her company. Cecelia had been pleased to hear that she had quite a few classes with her best friend, which would make the prolonged social interaction a little less ...excrutiating. Beatrice always knew how to brighten up Cece's day, even though Cece's days were never really all that bright to begin with. Such was the life of a “villain”; plenty of people seemed to think that Cece did nothing but like, murder puppies and then tweet about it.

She had her own ambitions, for sure. They may have been considered evil to some, but Cecelia had always been a go-getter, and being born to a mother who had possibly the worst reputation didn't exactly make life easy. Still, Cecelia had stood by Maleficent her entire life; she knew that she and her mother had both been cheated, and she certainly intended to see it through that the bubbly princes and princesses she was forced to spend her time with would get a taste of their own sickly sweet medicine.

But today was not the day for evil schemes. Today was a day for education, and Cecelia had gotten up early to shower and turn her thick, black mane into perfectly silky curls so that she would show up to school looking positively flawless. After getting ready and making sure she looked put together, Cece hightailed it to Starbucks for her usual mocha latte before arriving at school. Once her car was parked and she had everything she would need, she set off to find any sign of Beatrice.

It didn't take her long; though the campus of the school was pretty big, today seemed to be Cece's lucky day. After just a few minutes of walking around, she spotted her tart-loving, blonde best friend sitting on a bench by herself, singing loudly by herself as she drank a smoothie. As Cece approached her, she couldn't help but roll her bright green eyes. It even amazed her that they had been best friends for so long; they were just such polar opposites. While she had always been brooding and hard to approach, Beatrice was bubbly and lighthearted. It was a pretty unlikely friendship, but an unbreakable one just the same.

”Am I interrupting your duet with your smoothie?” Cecelia said snarkily, taking a seat beside Beatrice on the bench and taking a sip of her still-hot coffee. Crossing one leg over the other, she took a moment to survey the scene before her; it was still fairly early so the campus wasn't that crowded yet, but she could already tell she was going to need to have her shoving elbows at the ready as the day wore on.

”I'm late, aren't I?” She asked, raising a dark eyebrow as she continued to sip at her drink. Of course she was late; she had a habit of always being “fashionably late” no matter what the occasion, and why else would Beatrice be sitting there, singing to herself like a lunatic? ”Class doesn't start until 10:30, right? Debate 101, I think. I only glanced at my schedule like, once. Guess if I show up to the wrong classes I'll get even more dirty looks than usual,” She mused aloud. Finally, her green gaze flickered sideways and came to rest on Beatrice. ”Your outfit's cute. Any cuties walk by that I need to scare off? Seems like this campus is infested with teenagers. I feel old.”

                                                                          User Image

Finn’s morning routine was starting to become rather rough. Instead of waking up with a feeling of being refreshed—you know, the way people wake up on commercials, the teen dreaded the sun shining through his cracked window. He never felt rested recently, no matter how much he slept, all he wanted to do was sleep more. Tossing back over and covering his head with a pillow, his plans to sleep in were interrupted as he heard Carter’s screech fill their small home. Jolting upright, his bed creaking so much he’d thought it might snap in half, Finn stumbled out of bed in a tangled mess of sheets and blankets. After dealing with an unexpected sensation of vertigo, Finn fumbled to find his clothes and get dress. Hastily pulling on one pant leg, he hopped outside of his room with his hair an absolute mess and his shirt dangling between his teeth. “What in the bloody hell—” He grumbled as he threw his shirt sloppily over his head and found his other pant leg.

Coming out just in time to see his red haired sister chasing a family of squirrels around their house, he stood there too dumbfounded to think about jumping in to help. She handled it well enough, finally shooing them out an open window. Finn shook his head as he took in what just happened. “Damnit Sis, the way you were yelling I thought we were being robbed.” Not that the Darling-Finch home would have anything worth stealing, but thieves would be thieves— luckily, that had not been the problem. “Sounded like a three ring circus out here; you startin’ a side show? Didn’t take you as the ‘animal tamer’ type.” He teased with that oh so subtle devious grin of his. Making his way over to the kitchen table at his sister’s calling, he plopped down in one of the chairs with a big yawn. “If we don’t fix up where they came in, they’ll just come back. Maybe Piper will have an idea…” His best friend and roommate certainty had turned out handy in helping fix problems in their old home. Duck tape had been the solution for most of their problems, but that was hardly permanent. He’d always tried to fix things himself, but somehow tended to make it worse than before. He was learning to be handier with mechanics anyway, as he’d just recently begun working with her at the body shop. Not that he really had a clue to what he was doing yet. Where was Piper anyway? Oh, that was right, today was the first day for the college students wasn't it? Was she already up and gone for the day? He furrowed his brow with pursed lips in slight disappointment—he didn’t like missing the chance to see her in the morning, he thought the blonde haired girl was especially cute with bedhead and pajamas on.

Coming back to the present, Finn looked down as his sister handed him a sloppily wrapped present with his name scribbled across it. “What’s this? You know it’s not my birthday till spring. I didn’t forget an anniversary, did I? How embarrassing.” He joked. In reality, he’d already seen the box before him…though admittedly he’d pushed it to the back of his mind and forgot about it. A couple of weeks back, snooping around he’d landed upon the loose floorboard in his sister’s closet, and found this exact box stored under it. It didn’t take him long to guess what it was for, but he never did confront her about it. Opening the present, he found the box filled with money just like before. He couldn’t think of what to say. On one hand, he was incredibly grateful for the idea of being able to go to college. On the other hand, he didn't want this gift—she should use it for her own education, if she wanted that. His sister had always taken care of him, but he was older now, and he disliked the idea of still relying so much on her. She worked so hard for this family, had already been through so much, but he was an adult now and could stand on his own two feet. “Sis, I don’t know what to say…this is generous, way too generous. It’s for schooling, isn’t it? I don’t need you to do this for me. I can work my own way through. I’m not a kid anymore, ya know. Plus you taught me a good work ethic, remember? He explained with a half grin at the last comment. Finn shook his head and put the lid back on the box, nudging it back toward her stubbornly. “You should use this on something for yourself, you've long earned that.” Despite trying to convince her to rethink the plentiful gift, in the back of his mind he already knew it was futile. When his sister was set on something nothing deterred her from it. There really was no point in him fighting this, was there?

"We were being robbed." Rolling brown eyes at him, the moment he came in proximity hands reached out and ruffled his hair; making the messy hair even worse for wear. "Robbed of the freedom to go in peace in our own household! Could you ever imagine that in this pristine house." Grabbing his face with worn and calloused hands, Carter leaned forward and pressed her lips against his forehead. While some siblings avoided affection like the plague the Darlings were never against it. They both grew up with hugs, playful banter, and giving affectionate pecks; the whole works. Sometimes even pranks. "Haha very funny. I won't be seeing Piper for a while I don't think; so if you see her first can you ask if he would check the attic out? Last thing I want are for these squeakily-squeakers to come back." She grumbled while placing a plate of bacon and scrambled eggs in front of him. It wasn't the best breakfast, but at least it was something. Slightly burnt bacon and all.

Taking her spot opposite of her Darling; a soft smile graced her features when he noticed his interest in the box in front of them. "I know, I know. No, you didn't forget a super special anniversary or anything.. BUT this is technically a special occasion." Wiggling in her seat in anticipation, she was forced to cover her mouth with laced fingers to keep the big grin from showing on her face. For years she had waited for this moment. The moment her little brother would open up of box ironically enough filled with dreams. Money was always tight in this house, but despite all the broken pipes and car breakdowns the eldest Darling was still able to save up for his first two years of college. It kinda made her the most awesome sister in the world. The moment the lid was off the box she reached over the table and took both of his hands in her own. His response wasn't as desirable. Really she was expecting tears of joy and arms to be thrown around her neck, but even she knew that was realistic.

"Now look..." Her voice trailed off for a moment while her lips pressed into a firm line. She had to choose her words carefully. Finlay was a stubborn ox(But not as much as her) so it would be difficult for him to fully except the idea. "I know that it's a bit hard to accept this... I know if this was the other way around I would be doing the same exact thing but, Finn, nothing would make me more happier than to see you bettering your future by accepting this." With her right hand she reached over and tucked some of his hair behind his ear; her other giving a reassuring squeeze to his. "I'm okay being at the diner. If I wasn't, I would have found a way around it. You know that." That was a bit of a white lie there. Maybe a big white lie but what else could she do? Out right say 'Yeah I've wanted to go to college since junior year but let's be realistic here'? No, absolutely not. The truth of the matter was that if Finlay went to school it would bring everything into full circle. It would make her actually feel that she succeeded in raising him right, that she did a good job. "Please, go for a year at least. Nothing would make me more happier, not to mention it'll put my mind at ease knowing Piper has someone to go with. You know how she is." Their pixie friend had a knack for getting into trouble. They all did, but while Carter and Finlay were good at brushing it off Piper was sensitive. It stuck around a bit longer. "In short, my light. I will not let you reject this. I'm dead set on you going and I won't take no for an answer!" Stealing a piece of his bacon; she finished it it two bites with ease.

Carter left her seat and walked over to the counter where her bag was sprawled. "I have to go out for groceries. Is there anything specific you want? Or do you just want to come with me?" Shoving everything that had spilled out; she slung the bag halfheartedly onto her shoulder. It wasn't the greatest way to spend her day off but someone had to do it. Someone that would reek havoc on the whole town in the process.

Everything was so new and strange from the moment he stepped onto the train and the moment he stepped off. Noah Estbury wasn't a great fan of change, but when life threw you such a curveball what choice did you have in the matter? It had been only a month since he lost is parents. A month that was suppose to be filled with solid grieving but was instead filled with papers to sign and kingdom disputes. Now with all of that over you would think he'd have the proper chance to grieve but no. Instead he was shipped off(Thankfully by train) to the town of Rosegate to live with his new legal guardian until he was old enough to take over his beloved home and kingdom by the sea. Would Maria their cook be missing him? What about Maurice and Tammy? They were in tears from the moment it was announced he was to leave, so it wouldn't be surprising if they were. The very thought actually made his stomach drop and guilt to build up. "Maybe I'll send them a letter once I find this place and person...: He thought while glancing down at the address. 623 Sunny Meadows Road was his destination, wherever that may be.

Being rich and rather entitled you would think that finding a house would be no problem. That wasn't quite the case here. All family time that he could remember since, well, forever had been spent out on the ocean not in neighbouring towns or far away lands. The calm tilting of a boat was what he was used to, not the clickity clacks of a train on the tracks. So left and right he look and took; but to no avail he only got lost. "E-excuse me--!" Almost every person he stopped to ask would either simply brush by him or gave him instructions different from the last. Some would say to take left at Applegate Avenue, while some say to go past and then take two lefts and a right. Yet whatever way he took lost, lost, lost was all he got. With everything wrong turn the teenaged boy only grew more frustrated with himself. How could it be so hard to find one place?

After one too many wrong turns, Noah crumpled up his useless map and collapsed on the curb. "Whats the use? I'll never find this place at this rate... Who knows, maybe Kiefer gave me the wrong address..." Sighing deeply, and running both hands through his hair in frustration; tears began to build up in the corner of his eyes. "Stop, Noah. Stop, stop, stop!" Letting his hands slip down from his head to his face, he rubbed at those irritating tears until his eyes were red. If he just took a second to calm down and cool off, maybe just maybe he could figure it out. A small rest was all that he needed. The train had been long and draining after all(Not that him getting motion sick halfway had helped at all) so it couldn't be helped that his mind was a bit frazzled. So with three deep breaths he leaned back on his hands and tried to clear his thoughts. Tried to being the key word..

Dropping her cup the moment a familiar voice interrupted, Beatrice gave a happy squeak and quickly pulled herself upright. "I'm so so glad your here!" Throwing her arms around the younger girl's shoulders, she nuzzled her fluffy head against her shoulder before peeking up at her with a grin. "You did miss a wonderful duet. Oscar worthy really. You missed our fruit medley about the apeel of college life. A real tear jerker." Winking poorly(Beatrice never quite perfected winking. It was more of weird blink) at Cecelia, she allowed her affectionate hug to linger a bit longer before she finally pulled away and settled comfortably against the bench, this time like a normal person. You aren't that late by the way. I think I was just super duper early." Exploding into a burst of a giggles, they were interrupted by an annoying bout of the hiccups.

Chest rising and body jumping with each annoying 'hup!', her hand lightly slapped Cece's thigh a few times. "Make it stop!" Throwing her head back with a whine, her feet stomped against the grown softly until her little fit was over. "False alarm. It's all good, my main lady."One weird wink later and a nudge to the side, Beatrice brought her legs up and sat criss-crossed. How the beautiful brunette was her best friend was one the world's greatest wonders. How she could stand being in the same room as her well... Sometimes things were best left unsolved. "Mmhmm. 10:30 on the dot." Nodding in agreement, she reached down and picked up her discarded cup before tossing it into the trash can with a satisfying swiss. "If anyone gave you dirty looks, Cece, I'd put them in your place for you. No one messes with my, boo~" She chimed. "Not that anyone would if they knew what was best for them. " When the matter of cute boys came across, her smile faded and she shrugged.

Lately Beatrice didn't really notice these things. There was only ever one boy on her mind and he made all the other ones pale in comparison. "Hmm. I think I saw a few, but they all kinda left after the seventh song I think? Guess my outfit was so cute and my singing so damn good that they all couldn't handle it and fled." Chuckling lightly, she slung her arm around her. "So what about you, beautiful? See any men that have fiiiiine written all of them?" Clucking her tongue and snapping her fingers, the blonde gave her shoulder a friendly squeeze and giggled. Everything about her friend made her happy. From every eye roll and snarky reply. Cause the greatest part about Cecelia was that she was always real with. Not fake like some of the kids she knew in high school. Cece as a whole was just superbly amazing.
