Miriam was startled from the commotion and ran to the window. She scanned the streets below before realizing Jason had gone to the door. "Wait! It could be a bandit raid! Or worse! " She shouted as she followed him. She hoped it was just a bandit raid as no Darkspawn had been seen for a couple of years now since the Ferelden Blight had been dealt with.

Jason ran out the door and down out of the building. He heard the commotion and followed the sound, people were rushing past him to escape something. He got to the source of the commotion and there was nothing but chaos. The place looked like it had been hit by a storm. A few bodies here and there and some injured trying to get up. "What the hell happened here?"

"I-I dont know..Everything.. Was calm. Then the shadows.. They exploded in here, people screamed. People trampled each other trying to get out.."A man said rubbing his head..

Miriam muttered a curse as she chased after Jason, soon finding him at the aftermath of the explosion. As she surveyed the wreckage, her eyes looked for telltale signs of blood magic. Normally with chaos like this it meant somebody was trying to summon demons but so far nothing and everything looked like it contained the necessary signs of magic. "By Andraste....this makes no sense. " She muttered to herself as came to stand behind Jason.

Jason turned to Miriam. "He said the Shadows exploded. What is that supposed to mean?"He asked as he poked and prodded the debris. "Hmm.. Something did come crashing through here."He said. He pointed to a dark corner in the back of the room. "The way things are destroyed and tossed around, I'd say it came from that corner."

Miriam frowned further at this news and looked at the corner. If this is what she thought it was they were ill equipped to deal with it. Demon's, especially the ones that hid in the shadows were bad news and it meant blood mages were around. "Are you armed? If not then we should go. Nothing we can do and it would be best if we let the Templars handle it. Anything summoned by Apostates that are Blood mages are generally bad news. " She said softly to him, her hands going to her daggers. She knew the shadowy thing wouldn't stay still for long.

Jason looked back at the mess and back to Miriam before starting to walk away.. "Damn..."He said softly.. "I am usually unarmed, this place has been nothing but peaceful where ever I am.."He said.. He helped the person to their feet and looked down. "Can you walk?"

"Y-yeah. Just stunned.. Thats all.."

Miriam kept an eye on the shadowy creature as Jason helped the villager. This didn't feel right to her. "We should leave. Now. " She took a step back towards the door, still keeping her eyes trained on the unknown creature in the corner.

Jason looked around. He didn't see anything in the corner.. He squinted and thought he saw a shimmer.. "Yep, lets go."He said helping the man walk out of the area.. He stopped when he felt something on his ankle.. He looked down and saw a tendril around his ankle. " Oh shi--" He said before being pulled back into the darkness.. As he was pulled into the dark corner he felt a coldness.. Everything went black.

Miriam was startled as the shadowy thing made it's move and was startled even more when Jason suddenly disappeared as he reached the thing. "By the Maker.... " She managed to get out before it suddenly had her in its grip and all went dark.

Jason slowly sat up and rubbed his head. He looked at his hand and there was thick blood on his palm.. He slowly stood up and looked around.. It was as if night had suddenly fallen all around him. The sand beneath his feet was jet black and the sky had not a single star but he could see clearly..
