Welcome to Gaia! ::

He sighed. Did she really have to go faster? The hunter began an easy sort of loping walk, hardly a speedy walk for him, but he didn't feel like -chasing- people tonight. Testament was a rather lazy hunter. And tonight he wasn't even hunting. The blonde was rather, practicing hunting, he wouldn't kill her if he caught her. Maybe mark her, or make friends? At this he laughed out loud.

That thought seemed a bit out there.

People didn't want to be friends with a hunter who was at the top of the 'to kill' list of Madder and Lily Redfern. Needless to say, some also had a problem with his alter ego, the prowling jaguar.

Her head jerked suddenly as she flipped her hair over her shoulder; a powerful chill ran down her spine as she did so, raising goosebumps along her cheekbone. She had caught a glimmer of a shadow from the moment before.

She turned a corner sharply, heading towards her aparment building.

"Only two more blocks away," she thought, looking up from time to time. Normally she would have already attacked the person following her, but tonight was not a good night; and given the fact that they had been trailing her from the Black Iris.

But how was she any threat to any of the higher ups? It wasn't like she took more than her share; she probably took even less. What was going on? Her pace quickened yet again, into a sort of half run.
He sighed, yet again. She seemed to not be wanting to fight. It was always more awkward when one tried to attack someone and forgive them, when they didn't want to be attacked. Or something like that. He turned into a full run, attempting to catch up with her before she got to her destination.

He was a good runner, even in human form. And in a block or so he'd pass her unless she shifted into a cheetah, which he highly doubted it. Cheetah shifters weren't very common.

As if in cue with the 'shifter, the vampiress' sneaker-bound feet started pounding the pavement as her arm pumped at her sides. The long tail of her duster flew out behind her. Tiny curls of hair clung to the side of her face as sweat began to rise from her pores.

Oh how she wished to be on the roof painting right now...not running for her life....There it was, her bulding was insight. She forced her legs to move quicker as she neared it, darting into the bare street.
Aha He easily caught up with her, and reached out to snag one of her wrists. He didn't want to kill her, honestly, but cats did like to play a bit. It had been a while since hehad gotten a job, so he might as well get back into shape. If she had been a random person, she probably would have flipped out at his appearance, but since she was coming from the Black Iris... probably thought he was going to kill her. And eat her insides or something.

"Hullo," He drawled, not even out of breath.

Almost there...she looked up to see the steps; she felt her wrist catch against his hand, snapping her backwards and almost into him. She looked up to him, pulling away as far as she could.

Her free hand rested against her chest. What had she done? Her mind raked through the past year or two. Was this Lily and Madder's idea of entertainment? Well, it was amusing to her.

"H-hello," she answered rather unsuredly.
"How you doing?" He asked, pleasent as could be. This was said as if to bely his appearance, for he knew he looked more scruffy ragged punk than poliete evening gentleman. His chasing after her couldn't have helped either. He would release her wrist, if he thought that she wouldn't strike at him or run.

"Couldn't help but notice your departure from that club, did you have a nice evening?" He ran his eyes over her, searching for any muscle quivers that would betray her actions.

"Fine... and yes..." she pulled away from him further, feeling his grip on her wrist. Was this Lily and Madder's sense of entertainment? It was certainly not amusing to her.

She stared at him with widened eyes. What had she done? This was probably her last night in Kaffeyville; and how was her death to be written up in the papers..hopefully not with all the detail she was seeing. She damned her brilliant imagination.
"...We seem to be at a misunderstanding," He attempted to remedy the situation. The wooden knife in his pocket probably didn't help. He wondered if she had done something wrong, because only guilty people appeared to be so... nervous.

"I'm not here to hunt you, but rather extend an invitation?" He asked, ending the sentence with an upward tilt of his voice. That usually indicated a question, but he meant it as more of a hopeful sound.

She eye him warily, debating whether to trust what he said or not, but in the end, she acquiesced to the feeling of fear leaving her her stomach.

She stood straight, muscles relaxing, and a feeling of morning soreness settled over her. She sighed silently, looking to the ground and then back to the 'shifter; she smiled, apparently relieved.

"Sorry," she replied. "You had just been following me from the Black Iris, and I didn't know if Lily and Madder were in on of their moods or not..."
At this Testament raised an eyebrow, him, work for the Redferns? Hardly, they were more likely to give him the knife than he them. He and vampires in general had a rocky relationship. The urge to play had drained out of him with her comment.

"Ah, well... we're not on so good of terms, they and I," He said, almost sheepishly. All he had done was kill some friends of their's, and they acted as though he had gone after -them-. Or something. Being a killer for hire did have some downsides.

"I was going to play with you," He said, baring a feral smile at her, "But you interest me too much, so I decided not to rip a hole through you," Yes, because that was far more reassuring.

She took a half step backwards, "Thanks...I think."

Rip a hole through her? She would feel really comfortable around him now. Though her nerves had calmed remarkably fast, she was still on edge. She could only guess what could have put him on the bad side of the most powerful vampires in Kaffeyville, but then again, she was standing here with him...

Oh dear and oh well, anyone that could have gotten her in trouble would have been long gone and telling the infamous duo right now.

"Play?" she raised an eyebrow to him and laughed slightly. "If you say so.."
"Come on, don't say that you think I'd really Hunt you?" He asked, blinking in surprise. When he hunted he had a certain affect, which many who knew him recognized. Testament was an outgoing guy usually, except when he hunted. Then the 'dark side' came out, to be cheesy.

"I'd more like to know your name, and why pray tell you seem to think that Lily and Madder would single you out," He smiled charmingly, hoping to put her at ease again. One's enemy's enemy was your friend, afterall.

She sighed again and tried to half turn; he still had her wrist. "Lily and Madder don't need a specific reason to single anyone out; you just have to breathe wrong, and that's the last moon rise you'll ever see."

She tapped the toe of her show against the asphalt. Her name? Did she dare? He had been chasing her just minutes before and was now asking for her name. This was insane...so much for the boring night she had left the club with.

"Eilan Bial," she smirked. "A pleasure to meet you...?" The end of the sentence ended with an upward, questioning him.
"Testament Faith Peterson," He replied cheerful, jovial, and the village idiot for all purposes. What she said was true about those two though. The twin vampires were prone to executing or Hunting people just for fun.

It seemed a bit of a crazy night, didn't it? He with his Hunting, chasing, and talking. And her for replying. He could still gut her and leave her bleeding if he so wished, and if not? Well, they might have something nonviolent going on.

"Pleasure's all mine, afraid of our oh so wonderful vampires?" He asked, meaning Lily and Madder. Only crazy people weren't afraid of them, but he'd rather hear what Eilan had to say. Interesting people made his world go round.
