Welcome to Gaia! ::

"I'm awake you fool so no need to smother me..." Rolanda snapped as she got up her glare more than threatening enough as she walked out of her room in just her nightgown. And so her day began...

Rolanda hated this day; the anniversary of her son's death, the only day since the loss of her brother that she had ever cried on. It would be her butler; Hazim's duty to accompany her as always even though she didn't much like his overtly familiar attitude towards her she appreciated the compassion he held on such days.

Along the way though she could hear the mutterings of the townsfolks as she walked towards the cemetary...
"Its her!" said one man as he looked at the young woman and her butler resentfully.

"She's probably going to the cemetary again to pretend to mourn," said one woman to another gleeful to have something to gossip about.

"I know, its so obvious that she pushed her dear brother, husband and even her son to go to war that its rather sickening just to think about what she has done to secure power for herself..." gossiped the second lady as she glared at the richest woman in Lassen.

"I wonder when Sir Hazim is going to be next..." replied the first one as a few children ran by only for one of them to bump into Rolanda.
"Out of my way!" Rolanda scolded harshly as she shoved herself past the child coldly no one noticing the flower she had slipped into the child's hands, when she arrived in front of her sons cemetary she put down the bouquet she had been carrying and left not wanting to be there a moment longer all the while she ignored her butler's conversation.

'No 1 in this village matters or even amounts to anything...' she thought snobbily as she made her way back home indifferent to those around her, 'Hel i bet that to the gods i dont even matter seeing as they have taken everything from me without leaving me with anything...'
Hazim remained silent all throughout the day although he did smile when she offered the flower to the girl, however when they arrived at Rolanda's mansion he set about preparing dinner and getting ready for the evening and the night.

However that night something unexpected snuck into the house... While Hazim was faithfully locking up the mansion and Rolanda was preparing for the night there was a scream from the entrance as Hazim was attacked...
"Hazim!" Rolanda yelled out as she dashed out of her room the moment she heard the cry, her bow and quiver of arrows that her husband had taught her to use in hand. When she arrived downstairs though it was to find a man in black with his crossbow aimed at Hazim but the moment he caught sight of Rolanda he jumped out the window and fled into the night.

"NO!" Rolanda shrieked as she tossed aside her bow and dashed towards her fallen/beloved butler taking his head onto her knees as she pleaded with him, "Hold on, Hazim! This... this is all wrong! It wasnt suppose to be this way!"
"Hmmm... looks like the handsome one is going to be the Einherjar..." Thrud remarked as she appeared in front of the woman her eyes reflecting sadness as she looked upon the man's lover who seemed grief-stricken...
"Help him!" Rolanda pleaded dropping al pretenses of proud of nobility, "All my life death has taken everything and everyone that has mattered to me, i... I love him he's the only one who ever cared enough not to die on me so please don't make me lose him PLEASE!"
"...I guess you'll be the one i'm seeing..." Thrud replied as she did the soul transfusion spell and sucked the life force dry from Rolanda and inserted it into the butler only to take the mistress's soul and to leave the area in search of more Einherjar.
(Alright 2 down 1 to go...)
Thrud leaves Lassen and heads to the wilderness east of Crell Monferaigne where a small village is located and where a dozen of bandits are surveying a noblewoman's carriage the 6 guards surrounding the carriage are looking around only for one of them to look at the noblewoman and ask.

"Milady i do not approve of this road..." the guard captain whined for the umpteenth time.

"Do not question orders, it is imperative we get these books to my future-father-in-law as nobody else can be trusted..." she said crisply as she seemed rather nervous herself, her young 20ish attractive face peering through the curtains of the carriage in a rather fearful manner.
Garret was eyeing the carriage, and fingering his staff, and whispering to a couple of the young teens near him. "There are only 6 guards. Watch out for the horses. One wrong move and you're dead. if the guard is too strong, don't be afraid of running away. And make sure you catch them from behind. Blocking their way won't last long... so we go in there, grab what we can, and try to get out of there. I'll cover you."

The head bandit of this group awaited for the carriage to slow down, then he woud go down and strike the first guard.

"Right..." Said one of the older teens with a malicious smirk that promised nothing but trouble as within moments the first guard walked by and didn't notice the bandit until it was too late soon enough it was chaos as the dozen or so guards fell save for one young man who stood in their way his spear held up and ready.

However the last guard was a young man who stood between the carriage and the bandits, his spear drawn and his head and side bleeding from a blow to the skull and an arrow in the rib as he yelled at the noblewoman.

"Dammit, Kallia get the Hel outta here..." He yelled over his shoulder at her as she shook her head trying to pick up various books that had fallen from the broken carriage window.

"But..." She hesitated only to say as she took off on one of the horses, "I'll come back Kay!"

"You'll only get to Kallia over my dead body you bastards..." the man challenged the bandits pathetically as he hefted his spear, his body bleeding from both his head and from an arrow in the side, he had already lost the fight from the beginning...

The young bandits backed off, scared of the berserker fury in the older man's eyes yet eyeing the books and steel and other rich currencies in the carriage that promised them everything so they did what was natural sought to protect one another and turned to their leader for help in killing this last defence.
Garret stepped up and twirled his staff as he approached Kay. He kept his guard up ready for a counter attack. "Now, in this case, the person is acting in a blood rage that won't stop until he dies and passes out. Usually the smart thing would be to keep your distance and wait things out, But since I know what I am capable of, I will be risking myself to put him out of his misery." The older man instructed the youths. Gripping his staff on the two ends, he was ready to spring.
Kay panted and attempted to clumsily evade the attack only for it to hit him, in response he attacked back (missing badly) and soon fell under another attack.

"Garret, we've left Kadmar to deal with the noble," Reported one of the children as he stepped around Kay whom was being spat on by a couple of children and teens whom were angry with the cruel merc/guard for killing their loved ones. Then they caught sight of the carriage and started pillaging it like a group of rats as they went through everything and started to carry off the treasures unsure of what to do with the books, leaving it to Garret to take care of.

"Bastards... with... last breath... i... curse you... to Hel..." Kay said as he glared up at Garret viciously his hatred spewing out against the man, not only for bringing children along and turning them into nothing more than a group of murdering butchers but also for destroying the only woman he ever loved.

The children pulled back from him, suddenly afraid (except for the older teens whom were used to getting cursed on a regular basis) and sought to hide behind one another.
"Let her go... we don't have any ill will with her." Garret stated as he attacked Kay's head horizontally, to finish him off.
