Jay let out a soft sigh, staring at the passing clouds. He was surrounded on all sides by members of the Angel Guard, the king and queen's personal army. Their pristine white wings glittered in the sunlight that reflected down on them. Jay's wings, on the other hand, were pure black, spanning a few inches longer than the Angel Guard's wings. The seemed to glow instead of glitter, and with a dark hue.
Suddenly, in perfect synchronization, they turned and dived through the clouds, breaking through the cover and descending at an extremely fast pace. They went in full dive bomb, none of them batting an eye. When they came within about five feet from the ground, they twisted upwards, tucking their wings in as they soared carefully over the ground. The Earth Kingdom now came into view for them, and one by one, the Angel Guard soldiers broke away, turning and flying back up into the clouds.
By the time Jay reached the castle, he was by himself. He tucked his wings in, dropping a few feet to the ground. He looked behind him, then sighed quietly. Alone again. It wasn't a big surprise. The escort was really only to make sure he wasn't shot down on his way to the Earth Kingdom. Sinjin wouldn't arrive for awhile, and neither would his luggage. He was stuck with nothing for now...
Sighing, he adjusted the lapels on his coat. It was a dark purple dress coat with matching purple vest and pure white shirt and black tie. His pants were black, and he wore knee-high riding boots. He wore golden cuffs, and golden buttons on his coat. He looked like royalty, and he supposed he was. He certainly wasn't treated like it, but at least his mother could dress him up like a doll and ship him out to be married.
Retaining another sigh, Jay shifted his golden eyes to the castle. A beautiful work of architecture. But it was so warm here. Jay pulled at his collar, then looked around. He saw a woman retreating into the castle, and decided to follow her. He walked up the stairs, hand gripping the ceremonial sword strapped to his hip. The blade was blunt, but it sure looked nice with a handle of darkened wood and golden details.
He quietly circumvented the girl who introduced herself as Maggie, turning to her. "A pleasure, Maggie," he replied, his stance straight with a polite smile on his face. "I am Jayson Cassius, but please, call me Jay."
He offered his hand to her, which was cloaked in a fine white felt glove.
