Welcome to Gaia! ::

A role model as always, captain.

It was obvious Grimmjow didn't get along with whoever it was Aizen reminded him of. He felt the underlying tone of hostility, and wondered if the captain would go so far as to attack him until the appropriate duress. It was not something he wished to stick around to find out.

Just as the thought to bid his farewells, and continue on to his own division, crossed his mind, a new presence made itself apparent to him. He had felt the reiatsu from quite a ways away-- whoever this individual was (it must have been a captain), they were extremely powerful-- but didn't expect whoever it belonged to to approach their small group.

Surely enough, only a few moments later, another, louder voice joined in their relatively delicate conversation, despite the tension Aizen himself felt. It belonged to a bright-haired captain, eyes constantly seeming to be narrowed. Aizen remembered this captain from when he first joined with the Soul Society. Kurosaki Ichigo-- the man had nearly killed him upon their first meeting. It was almost as difficult to convince Ichigo as it was the Captain Commander that he wasn't whoever they had a grudge against.

Aizen watched quietly as Ichigo spoke with Grimmjow and his lieutenant, remaining respectively silent until he was addressed directly. So he'd already heard about the promotion? Why did he have the feeling that, despite this, his own captain was unaware? That, though, was irrelevant, at the moment.

For the third time, Aizen bent into a bow. "Thank you, Kurosaki-taichou." He added a light smile onto the end, as an attempt to show the honesty in his gratitude. His captain-- it raised a question that, despite everything, likely made Aizen seem rather uneducated. "My captain. If you don't mind me asking, what is he like?"

I'm glad to see you once again have chose to take the high road.

Ayano Tenjouga lurked around the different areas of the Seireitei, humming to herself as she rested her arms back against the sword cradling itself across her back. She had never thought there would be a day when she had become a captain, yet there she walked, covered by the Haori of the Captain of the Thirteenth Squad. She sighed lightly to herself, her dual-colored eyes looking around the old, cracked walls surrounding her. She knew that they were the scars of fights past between Captain Ichigo Kurosaki, and Ex-Captain Kenpachi Zaraki. "Geeze...these poor walls have taken quite a beating..." She said to herself, smiling lightly as she ran her hand over a long crack with her long, thin fingers.

She remembered the days of the past, back when she was still in the Soul Reaper academy. "I always wanted to see a fight between those two...Pity I never got the chance..." She said as she shook her head, keeping her smile, though it seemed wearier than before. The hand that was railing against the wall moved to her left arm, her smile fading a bit as she stopped walking for a few seconds, a slight dizzying pain rendering her immobile for a few seconds. "Ggh...Then again, I haven't really ever seen anyone fight..." She told herself as she thought back to the day she suprised everyone with her Bankai. She just hated what had happened for her to achieve it. "Hm...I suppose I should get back to my paperwork..." She muttered, wanting more than anything to keep her mind off of that day.

»» Yukiko blinked, Aizen Sousuke?, her mind was fuzzy but she distinctly remembered a cold, cruel look. Not this warm, polite smile. She was thoroughly confused, intent on asking more questions when she felt a familiar reiatsu approaching. As he stated his first question she replied with a slight sigh, "No, Ichigo-Taichou, I finished all of my work until you sent me to deliver some paperwork to Grimmjow-Taichou." She looked from her captain to the captain she had, not too long ago been conversing with, and shook her head slightly, and animosity between the two would probably never be over. She looked at her captain with a slightly inquisitive look, get going, "Grimmjow-Taichou has offered me a meal, it would be impolite for me to leave." She replied with a glance at Grimmjow. She really wanted to go to eat with the blue haired captain, and she was sure that her captain would, perhaps, try to sabotage it in some way. It was not like it was a date or anything.

With the familiar sound of her nickname she turned to retaliate when she spotted a box flying at her face. Stretching up her hand to grab the box before it made contact with her head. She brought her hand to eye level to read the labeling on the box, and quickly turned red. Condoms?! She wanted to yell at him but settled for throwing the box back at him with a bit more force than he had, aiming specifically for his face. "I appreciate the gift...But I think that you need them more than me." She said tactfully, hinting at an underlying relationship that her captain may, or may not have. She knew that even though at the moment her captain was single, the type of teasing and rumors from Grimmjow that might emerge would be a good come back. Just because Ichigo teased her, sometimes not all that nicely, she was quite capable of keeping good humor and getting back at him, on occasion.

Shinji was annoyed and he'd be damned if he was going to hide it. After searching his entire division high and low, checking back frequently into his own office, and asking several of his subordinates, he was unable to find this apparent 'new' member that was being transferred.

"Idiot probably got lost on his way here," the captain muttered under his breath, nearly slamming shut the door to his office. He had just checked the area for the dozenth time-- that was the most likely place for the newcomer to pop up-- to no avail.

He let out a loud, aggravated sigh, his lips tugging down into a wide, teeth-baring frown. This new kid was his responsibility and, as much as he detested the idea, he had to go find him. Of course, that would have been a hell of a lot easier if he'd known what the guy (or girl) looked like. Or, ya know, a name. No. None of that. Apparently, the Gotei's communication had broken down severely in the past six hundred years.

Adjusting his haori a bit, the captain gave another, briefer sigh and began his trek toward the First Division headquarters. He had no intention of actually going there, but seeing as how that was the path his intended target should have been traveling down, it was the most logical way to find him.

"Great," he muttered, the light clatter of his sandals silencing as they left wooden panels for soft, grassy ground, "that means I'm gonna have t' go by that place."

The Eleventh Division, for whatever reason, was located annoyingly close to the First. He could have avoided it, gone around and through five other territories, but that probably wasn't the way his newest lacky division member would have come. It wasn't the division so much that bothered him, even if he never agreed with the 'legacy' of Kenpachi, but rather who was currently heading it. Grimmjow Jeagerjaques. Former Espada, current captain, and all-around pain in the a**. Shinji didn't really hold a grudge against Grimmjow for following Aizen, but he still didn't like the a*****e's attitude. He was way too arrogant for being so new to the game.

As Shinji made his way through Seireitei, brushing off questioning subordinates and silently flirting with the more attractive females that caught his eye, the realization that he would actually have to go into Eleventh territory was growing more obvious. It was pretty undeniable once he actually was inside the division grounds. At least he could probably avoid--

"Goddamn it." A flash of blue hair, unmistakeably Grimmjow's, caught Shinji's eye. Well, he couldn't just ignore it now. He walked toward the small group of shinigami, which consisted of the aforementioned captain, Ichigo and his lieutenant, and a fourth member with frumpy a** brown hair, who currently had his back to Shinji, and called out.

"Oi, Grimmjow! Ya haven't seen a-" Shinji's words nearly caught in his throat as he joined the four and took a better look at the unknown element. Unknown? Like hell. There was no mistaking it-- his eyes, hair, posture, every disgusting detail about him-- the man in front of him was Aizen Sousuke.

Shinji didn't wait for an explanation; he didn't care for one. He simply snapped. No sooner had his eyes met those deceptively-warm, brown ones than he had drawn back a fist and drove it straight into the oddly-innocent face. Innocent? Like [********] hell. Shinji hadn't gone easy on him, not like he ever deserved it, the force of the hit knocking the lieutenant back several yards to come crashing to the ground. But he didn't stop there. Royally pissed and looking only to punch that face again, Shinji stalked forward, past Grimmjow and the others, eyes narrowed and filled with pure intent to kill.

No takers. He glanced round hueco mundo for a few minutes, waiting to see if the other espada wanted to do something other than be lazy in their rooms. Didn't seem like any of the others even felt like moving, what a pity. Looking over at the 'castle' he then turned, taking a few paces in the sand before opening up a garganta. Without much thought, he stepped into the passage way- walking easily upon the seemingly empty area he had just transferred into. A few minutes passed as he walked before an opening started to tear its way onto the other side, his destination? Soul Society- just for a little sight seeing, then he'd be off. He wasn't going for a fight, though he wouldn't mind obliging anyone who came up to him on accident or purposely- there was even the chance he'd turn one down, but it all depended on what was going to happen once he stepped out. Taking fluid steps he slowly made it to the the end, the energy shifting where the garganta opened in Soul Society, it would most likely put the place on high alert, or it would have- had it been anywhere remotely close to the Seireitei; instead the portal opened up in a vacant area, the grass swirling in the breeze happily. Taking the first few steps out, he turned back to eye the garganta as it closed up behind him, swallowing the passageway that he had just used. His reitsu would be felt easily from afar, not that he seemed so concerned about concealing it as he turned to take a full glance at his surroundings.

Just a plain field on the outside of one of the districts. The nearby district could be seen from the outcrop of the current field, that along with the gate that surrounded by the Seireitei could be seen- yet in the far distance past all the areas where souls where housed. Blinking almost innocently he couldn't help but eye the distance he needed to even get to the destination he wished to investigate, nonetheless he would walk it. Not so keen on running nor moving at a fast pace, simply due to his current laid-back disposition with reality. Starting his journey forward, he seemed to show no emotion on his lips as he walked into the outer most area of Rukongai coming from the west. In due time he would make his way to the Seireitei but until then he would enjoy the unnerving silence that befell the nearby area he entered. The souls hovering in the nearby houses shuddered at the sight of the arrancar, mouse sew shut and eyes staring intensely at the figure as he walked forward; their hearts racing at the thought of being devoured by cruel lips. There would be no worry for such things as he passed them, not even giving them a glance; he was more interested in what lied within the walls of Seireitei than in these lowly districts, but he had chose to come far out as to not have the place panic the instant he came in. A sort of blessing for the soul reapers inside.

Walking on, he tended to glance down at the silenced blade he had yelled at before- feeling it fidget uncomfortably in the familiar air. This sort of occurrence was something that the arrancar enjoyed as he walked, liking the silence that fell everywhere- even in his mind. Yet this didn't last as the sword slowly grew more accustomed to the area, its hilt twisting slightly in the sheathe before he spoke. "So we return now? Why now of all times?" Mestubou inquired to Bakuya. That was a valid question, something that he rarely heard from the feisty blade considering all the ravenous blade spoke of 'was being freed of his prison' at a constant, so hearing something new was like fresh air and in turn would be given an answer rather than the silent treatment. "I simply wish to see what I have missed" he spoke to the blade in a low voice, not one for shouting like some of the espada, while glancing at the hilt by his hip. The blade seemed to understand it well enough before going silent again, just continuing with feeling out the area familiar area that it had missed for quite sometime.

I'm the one who's gonna beat your a**. How's it goin'?

"Speaking of the devil..."
Ichigo mumbled glancing over his shoulder at an old friend. Shinji though looked as though he was walking with murderous intent. Ichigo once had heared rumors about Shinji's past with Aizen, so without hesitating, Ichigo stepped forward in between Aizen and Shinji. His muscular body towering down, in a protective manner, standing his ground giving Aizen a chance to collect himself after Shinji's sudden outburst.

"Shinji, meet your new partner." Ichigo said in a dangerous tone, hinting for Shinji to cool himself off. "...And Aizen, this is you're Captain Shinji...He's a pain in the a**, so good luck working with him." Ichigo joked dryly looking back at the poor man. Well...This is awkward... Ichigo thought to himself feeling Shinji's death glare.

"Ah, Aizen. Did anyone tell you perhaps about your past life?"
Ichigo asked, understanding how confusing this could have been for the brunette. "Well, ironically enough, back in the day you used to be Shinji's Lieutenant, and then kinda..." Ichigo rubbed the back of his own neck looking away. "Erm...Tried to kill a lot of people...Including him..." His voice lowered feeling odd that he had to explain this. "But none of that matters now since you we're basically re-born, isn't that right Shinji???" Ichigo laughed nervously feeling the tension in the air raise.

Ichigo was trying his best to keep the peace, but was glad he was here to stop an unnecessary fighting. Causally he held up his hand catching the small box of condoms his Lieutenant had thrown at him keeping his eye's locked onto shinji's. Quickly shoving the box into a pocket he let out a sigh before turning around back to Aizen.

With a friendly smile he rested a hand on the man's shoulder. "Don't worry, it may take a while for everyone to get used to the idea, but I'm sure you'll fit right in soon enough." He said glancing back at Shinji with a cheeky grin. Please, play along! Don't start a fight idiot! ...And don't kill me! Worried thoughts raced through the orange haired captain's mind fully aware that he was walking on thin ice.

A role model as always, captain.

Aizen had barely heard the shout of another man's voice before he was face-to-face with a very angry captain. Correction, his very angry captain. Before he could utter even a word of greeting, he was met with a forceful punch that knocked him to the ground. He collided with the hard wooden panels with a light 'oof!' and immediately raised a hand to lightly rub the bridge of his nose, which had taken most of the impact.

When his vision cleared completely, his hand came down upon the glasses that had been dislodged with the force, pushing them back up a rather tender nose. He turned his attention to the shinigami that was now standing in front of him, practically the only thing between him and certain death; he had never been quite so relieved to see the bright orange mass of hair.

Then, Ichigo's words reached his ears. Past life? He'd tried to kill his own captain? Aizen's lips pulled down in a rather concerned frown as he slowly rose to his feet, looking past Ichigo to the enraged blonde on the other side. "No," he finally said, a bit lowly, "I hadn't been informed."

Adjusting his robes, Aizen regarded Shinji warily before determining the captain had restrained himself enough not to attack again. He stepped around Ichigo, while still largely remaining at the young captain's side. "If I may say so, I believe Kurosaki-taichou is right. Our past lives are what they were, and as such, I have no recollection of the events." He stooped into a low bow, partially from respect and partially to avoid that heated gaze as long as he could. "With all of that considered, I hope you can forgive my past misdeeds," Aizen obviously did not know the extent of his prior cruelty, "and judge me as you see me now."

I'm glad to see you once again have chose to take the high road.

Rangiku narrowed her sharp eyes, glaring up at the, Quite attractive, red haired man. "Thanks for pointing out the obvious, but none the less, as the Lieutenant of the 5th Division, I cannot allow an Arrancar to frolic about Soul Society freely." She replied taking a step back.

Rangiku had been specifically ordered to alert the other divisions as soon as possible in this type of situation. Glancing past him, then to her side, she looked around for any other soul reapers. But as the sun slowly begun to set in the sky, the empty streets showed no sign of life. The woman whimpered lightly, suddenly regretting ever going out for a drink. Lost, drunk, and infront of a powerful enemy. She had such great luck.

With a flick of her wrist, the vixen unsheathed her blade and held it up threateningly. She fought the urge to pass out, brushing away the tipsy feeling. "You look like a reasonable gentleman, why are you here? Y..You suicidal or something?" Rangiku slurred suddenly getting hit with a wave of intoxication. Her porcelain face grew flustered, and she wobbled to the side a bit trying to keep her balance.

"Nnng...Dammit, this is embarrassing..." She cursed under her breath, rubbing her eyes shut with her other hand. Her body grew feverishly hot as she stood there, so while attempting to still seem somewhat threatening, her hand moved down to lower the collar on her robes a bit, revealing more flesh to the cool air. Rangiku couldn't help but sigh out of relief, immediately ruining that commanding demeanor she had just tried so hard to put up previously.

He hadn't expected this at all, nor had he expected to see a drunken reaper walking her way up to him. Her hand grabbing onto him and the female trying to make him assist her back to Seireitei. It would have been rather comical with the other espada, but with him- all she was given was a silent stare. His eyes taking her in slowly as he stumbled over herself as she tried to make head and tails of the situation she had plunged herself into. He spoke nothing watching as the girl drew back after sometime when she had realized the truth, she swiftly readied herself to 'attempt' to get him out of here. His eyes danced over her body before he took a step forward. "Lie down" he said simply, referring to the girl's current condition. After all she had taken quite a few shots of liquor and would be unable to keep this up at any length. Even if he didn't know here powers, this would still be a rather easy fight for him. "You've had too much to drink" he finished after what seemed like some sort of pause for thought as he drew closer to the girl. Not trying for a weapon, nor showing much of a sign that he'd fight the girl- all it seemed like was that he wished to pass.

There was no point in leaving yet anyway, he hadn't even gotten to Seireitei, the place he had come here for in the first place; so why would he let this girl deter him from getting to his destination for a little bit of sight seeing? He wanted to know more about this place than the small information he had gathered about Rukongai, not that that was very much. "Step aside" he spoke to the girl in a darker tone than previously- and underlying tone of cruelty hung in his voice; a cruelty that had grown darker and more severe with years.

Ayano had almost rounded the corner before Aizen tumbled into view. She jumped backwards to avoid being crashed into before poking her head around the corner, noticing everyone. Ichigo, Grimmjow...Shinji, I think? Dunno the girl...but...wait...Aizen?? She named off everyone she could, raising a blonde brow at the Lieutenant that had come flying her way.

Odd, but she wasn't going to question it.

She noticed Shinji coming towards them, hiding herself behind the wall again. She wasn't really one to converse with others, unless they spoke to her first. ...Maybe...I should just find another way back...? She asked herself, sounding a bit unsure before she shook her head. "Nah, I can wait." She said aloud, not realizing she had.

Shinji's line of vision, which had been entirely set on Aizen in shades of red, was intercepted by a black kimono and a dash of vivid orange. Shinji narrowed his eyes toward Ichigo, fingers itching to swing at something. The other captain's words reached his ears, but he ignored them mostly, until something in particular caught his attention. That one word: Lieutenant.

"Like hell!" Shinji shouted, jabbing a finger accusingly in Aizen's direction. "He shouldn't even be alive, let alone at a rank like that!" And there was absolutely no way, no way in hell he was taking Aizen back into his squad, let alone as his lieutenant. Were this people stupid? How could they trust Aizen ? "Memories or not, he's too much of a threat t' be let runnin' around!" His head snapped back in Grimmjow's direction. "Ya can't honestly agree with 'im!" If anyone would have his back in this situation, it was the former Espada.

。✿*゚‘゚・✿.。.:*.:。✿*゚’゚・✿.。Rangiku Matsumoto。✿*゚‘゚・✿.。.:*.:。✿*゚’゚・✿.。

The light tap on the forehead caused Rangiku's vision to blur uncontrollably. Almost about to trip over herself, she felt her body being lifted onto the man's shoulders. Too dizzy to object, the woman slowly closed her eyes feeling a wave of familiar warmth consume her.

Being held closely like this reminded her of Gin's gentle touch on her skin. A smile appeared on her lips at the thought, memories of being loved that she had cherished forever. "Gin..." She whispered, curling her arms up to cover the sudden pain in her chest.

A half an hour or so passed when Rangiku's dizziness from the strong liquor faded, growing sober once more. It didn't take long for soul reapers to recover from such things, especially for a lady who did these sort of things on a daily bases.

Her eyes shot back open suddenly remembering everything that had happened. Glancing over her shoulder, she looked down seeing the Arrancar carry her like some sort of luggage and immediately started to protest before the sight of the city that lay before them caught her attention. "The Seireitei...?" She mumbled under her breath.

Reaching out, the feisty lieutenant caught the side of a tavern as they passed it. Grabbing the side, she attempted to pull herself off him, but the wood slipped from her grasp before pricking her finger. Rangiku yelped snatching back her hand, quick to put the finger in her mouth, sucking the sudden dripping blood that trickled from the tiny wound. "Owy! Look at what you made me do!" She growled forcing him to look at the small cut on her finger.

"Let me down!" Rangiku flailed about ruthlessly. She found it odd for a hollow to show such manners, although she'd never admit it, she was impressed at how he took care of her while she was intoxicated. But none the less, now that they we're at the heart of Soul Society, she had to put a stop to him as soon as possible.

Pushing off his body hard, she lept backwards into the sky. Surely she had planned to land gracefully on the ground in front of him then say some cool one liner to impress him, but alas, she lost her balance and ended up falling onto the ground face first. Eep!

"Tch! Ow! Ow! Ow!" Cursing under her breath, Rangiku dusted herself off and stumbled back up. So far, throughout this entire encounter, the only injuries she was receiving we're all self inflicted wounds. How she managed to stay alive this long without her Captain by her side was a miracle within it's self. But then again, by the way she burned threw her life, it wasn't like she was trying to live, quite the opposite.

"Alright, play time's over. Time for the blood shed to really fly." Rangiku said coldly, slightly still embarrassed. In one single motion, she unsheathed her Zanpakuto once more. Her cat like eyes flickered with excitement as she dashed forward, suddenly attacking the man.

In the back of her mind, she wanted to purify his soul, for selfish reasons. So without hesitation, she shot a few quick swipes at him. The wind around the two suddenly picked up causing her long hair to sweep upwards as she moved in closer to him.

He eyed the soul reaper as she stayed back to him what he had stated to her. Obviously the soul reaper couldn't just let him go, but he had tried being nice for the time being rather than side stepping the female and letting her faint here alone with who knows what was nearby. Eying her as she spoke about him being possibly he seemed to not being listening in regards to such trivial things like that, instead he had been studying in her posture- it was weakening with each passing second, giving way to the fact that she might without much help faint on him. Eying the female for a second, he simply moved forward- using sonido to appear at her right. "Take a nap" he said simply tapping his finger against the girl's forehead to shake her perception more before slinging an arm around her waist and hauling her unwillingly over his shoulder. If he was going to head to Seireitei, he might as well have someone with him who could 'tell' him things about it. Though albeit, he probably wouldn't get anything out of the female- it was still useful to have someone with him aside from the sword Metsubou that had been eerily quiet through this how act.

With the vixen slung over his side like a parcel he started his march once more towards the gates. The girl should be lucky- he was feeling merciful at the moment and seemed to not even remotely considering his general blood lust that could have spurred him on to kill the girl in a second just to quench it. Making his way forward, he would simply hold the girl until she would become dead weight.

Grimmjow had kept his opinions mostly to himself, though he had been about to intercept Shinji if he could and keep him from further harming Aizen. The fact of the matter was that even if Grimmjow wholeheartedly agreed with his fellow captain, that the brunette had been allowed into the Seireitei and it had taken him 500 years to get here today. The ex-Espada was not fool enough to think that Aizen hadn't already been evaluated, and even if he didn't trust any evaluation done by a bunch of old-hat Shinigami, there was nothing he could do. He himself was under surveillance, most likely. No way was Grimmjow that naive as to think he'd been passed along and considered a completely safe individual.

"Look. I ain't gonna lie and say I'm okay with it," he began. "But in the grand scheme of things, what the hell are we going to be able to do?"

Casting a glance at Aizen from around Ichigo, he frowned more deeply.

"D'you think that if we say anything it's going to matter to Head Captain Yamamoto? He's prob'ly already deliberated on it, and decided Aizen is safe."

Stating it and believing it were two different things.

"Tch. He'd be your Lieutenant anyway, you can keep an eye on him better that way," the taichou said, crossing his arms. He didn't know the particulars of the past between Shinji and Aizen, and so didn't realize that might be a bit of a sore spot.

Perhaps he would have a private talk with Shinji later, to get a better understanding of this s**t, and also to settle some s**t about what to do concerning Aizen. Shinji was right, Grimmjow didn't trust Aizen. Not yet, and probably not ever.
