"Of coarse you are not down there", Gabe said as he ran to hug Jack. "How have you been? Did you forget about me or something? You must be busy as always. The private investigators are not coming up with anything. Please tell me you found something out about me?"

As Gabe finished a women he knows by the name of Isabel approached them.
Jack smiled and hugged Gabe in return before pulling back with his hands on Gabe's shoulders to look at him. "I'm doing fine, myself. Things seem quiet at the moment... except for that message from Mara, but I was still in London when I got it so I couldn't follow it up. I'll have to call her to see what's going on..." He mused, then turned his thoughts back to Gabe "No, I'm sorry. I haven't found anything new yet... you know how it goes at Torchwood too, there's always something going on. You'd think aliens would get bored of Earth eventually, wouldn't you?" He grinned jokingly. Of course, the ones that came through the rift weren't here always voluntarily. It's usually the ones that were here voluntarily that caused trouble though.

The captain released Gabe when he heard someone approach and turned around to look surprised at Isabel. "What are you doing out here?" He asked, before his eyes turned to ice "I told you to stay inside all the time! You're not used to Earth culture, you're bound to do something that'll betray what's going on, and the people here aren't ready yet to know about life out there yet. You know that!" He sighed and ran a hand frustrated through his hair. "I could also just lock you up like the one we got downstairs in-..." He caught himself before he revealed too much about that. She was definitely not supposed to know about him. "Just... Get inside." He said in a voice that would make a flame freeze up.
Isabel barely batted an eyelash as she gave Jack a heated glare of her own. Her cheeks where stained red as fury began to stain her face as she did her best to keep from striking the ex-time agent. Did he enjoy making her this angry? Why couldn’t he understand her need to be out and explore? Isabel had been locked away for years, with only the shadows of her own mind to keep her company. All she wanted was the feel the gentle breeze against her face, to watch a sunset, and just enjoy the simple things that so many life forms take for granted.

“How…dare…you?” She hissed between clenched teeth, her hands balled at the sides. “You act as if I a burden to you…but you seem to forget that I NEVER asked to be brought here! I was doing perfectly fine until you came along… ” Huffing slightly, Isabel could feel tears welling up from her eyes as more of her frustration began to build.

“I have been all over this place and the world hasn’t come to an end. Every time you and your little team have gone out on missions I’ve gone out too. And I haven’t caused so much as a loud noise!! I was locked up for too long before I came to this hell hole…and I will be damned if I let anyone try to trap me again…least of all you!”
The one locked up downstairs in the Torchwood base happened to the man that was briefly known as the Prime Minister of Great Britain. To most people he was known as Harold Saxon, and to a select few, under which obviously Captain Jack Harkness and the Doctor, as the Time Lord known as the Master. And said Time Lord was not happy about being locked up securely.

Well, he wasn't happy overall. His whole brilliant plan had been going perfectly, and then the Doctor, with a certain Martha Jones' help, had screwed up everything. Next thing he knew, there was Captain Jack destroying the paradox machine and then handcuffing him, and there was quite a heated discussion with the other Time Lord about his fate. He really didn't want to be a prisoner of the Doctor, but considering being stuck in a damp basement like this... yeah, actually, he would have prefered the TARDIS, come to think of it.

Apparently the Doctor went off looking for a 'cure to his drums'. The Master snorted thinking about it. As bloody if. Anyway, it came down to the fact that he was stuck down here, on Earth, for months now. That did not spell a happy psychopathic maniac. Especially since he was bored out of his mind and had only the drums to keep him company, or rather, to drive him insane. He kicked against the solid glass-like door that made up the front of the cell, his hands in the pockets of the dress pants of the black suit he was still wearing. "Hey Jack! How about you come down here so I can kill you again! We had so much fun doing that!" He called to the camera hanging in the cells' hallway.

~

Jack remained silent during her outburst, but glared icily at her. He didn't like it when orders were disobeyed, and the last time a Time Lord was allowed free reign in this country, he nearly destroyed the whole of mankind. Call him a bit biased, but he found it a bit hard to trust any beside the Doctor right now. After all, everyone liked and trusted Harold Saxon before he became Prime Minister.

He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose as the immortal felt a headache coming on "Fine. You're not a prisoner, as such... but I still cannot allow you to go out and do as you wish. And I'm speaking out of experience here. Anyway... from now on, you can go out but only when you're accompanied by someone, at all times."
"I can accompany her if you want me to Jack", Gabe said, "the other job you gave me is in a hiatus stage right now so I have more time on my hands. If it is not too much of a trouble, I can keep her in line."

Gabe always liked helping Jack and Torchwood out even though he was not a part of them. He could not understand why Jack would never make him part of the team. Like with Isabel, Gabe always thought that he too was dangerous in some way. Maybe he found something out about me that he is not telling me, Gabe thought and just realized.

"By the way Jack", Gabe started, "Did you ever found out anything about me over these past couple of months?"
“And here we go again…”

Martha Jones watched the shenanigans of the Time Lord she defeated from the safety of the ‘Hub’. Letting out a sigh of frustration, the now UNIT member grabbed the bridge of her nose. She simply couldn’t believe that she allowed the Doctor to talk her into playing babysitter to a psychopathic Time Lord. It wasn’t as if she didn’t understand why. Of all the people who knew about the year that wasn’t, Martha was the only one that wouldn’t try to kill the Master. Her kind nature, along with her vow to do no harm as a doctor, kept the manic Time Lord from meeting the wrong end of Jack’s gun.

However, all the kindness in the world didn’t remove the anger she felt towards the Master. She had spent a year watching him cause chaos and destruction around the world, not to mention that he held her family and friends captive, doing God knows what to them. Yes. Martha Jones had anger in her heart, maybe even hate. But as those days turned into weeks, Martha could feel something else in her heat…something that scared the hell out of her.

When ever her mind was given the chance, Martha found herself thinking more about the Time Lord trapped in the basement. It was as if he had managed to crawl under her skin, infecting her from the inside out. He was cruel, hateful, mean, and down right insane. Perhaps it was the rejection she felt from the Doctor that made her vulnerable or maybe she was just a glutton for punishment. No matter what the reason, the good girl in Martha couldn’t resist the bad boy in the Master.

Pushing away from the monitor, Martha decided that it was once again time for her to keep the Time Lord company, just as the Doctor had asked her to. After grabbing the closed book off the desk, she began to make her journey into the basement. It wasn’t long before she could hear the screaming voice and kicking of the glass.

“He’s not here right now…” Martha said just before coming to a complete stop in front of the glass. She kept her expression emotionless, not relaying any fear or curiosity that she really felt deep down. The young doctor was well area of his ability to turn a person’s weakness against them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“You….must be…insane!!!”

Isabel exclaimed as she a new wave of rage began to wash over the frustrated Time Lady. However, just before she was able to verbally lash out at the two, a gentle hand sat its self on her shoulder. Spinning around, Isabel came face to face with Gwen.

“Izzy…why don’t you go wait for me by the other entrance.”

“But-“

“Izzy…” Gwen snapped, causing the Time Lady to take a step back. Tossing one final defiant look at Jack, Isabel spun on her heels and headed towards the door of the other entrance. Letting out a sigh of relief, Gwen turned her full attention back to the ex-agent. She knew that Jack meant well, however how was Isabel suppose to want to listen to them if she and Jack were constantly bumping heads. It was funny. The two people that disliked each other the most were almost exactly alike. Stubborn as all Hell .

“You know…she wouldn’t give you so much trouble if you wouldn’t treat her like a prisoner. She’s been through a lot Jack…you would know that if you actually TALKED to her.”
The captain looked back at Gabe at his suggestion and the following question. "Yeah, we'll see about that... She's not going out today, for sure. And, er, I'll get back to you on that. That's something we should discuss in private. Come to my office once this is sorted out..." Jack told him before turning back to the Time Lady.

He scoffed at the 'insanity' comment. "Yeah, I get that a lot." He would have made an angry remark back, possibly revealing more about a certain Time Lord downstairs if he had, but he didn't when he saw 'good old' Gwen calming down the alien woman instead. He sighed and scratched his head, muttering "You lot really are a piece of work..." He could only hope that the Doctor would show up sooner or later to finally deal with the Master for one, and this Time Lady. But then again, that might be too much to hope for. Jack was pretty convinced the Master was completely cracked and not even the Doctor would be able to glue the pieces together.

He looked to Gwen as she talked to him "Gwen... I'm kind of finding it hard to trust her at the moment. What if she..." Well, freed the Master, for instance. Or took over his 'job'. Yes, she seemed reasonable and honest enough, but ... he couldn't take that risk. If there's one thing he learned, it's not to underestimate the Time Lord race. For good or for bad.

Jack watched Isabel walk towards the entrance. At least it looked like the basement levels were blocking the telepathy enough, for now... after all, the Doctor claimed that he would sense any other Time Lord. And he definitely didn't want her to sense their prisoner down there. He shook his head with a sigh and looked to Gwen and Gabe. "Well, let's go inside then. I need to contact Mara anyway, there's something going on..." He said before following the Time Lady into the base.

~

The Master looked up as he heard footsteps approaching down the stairs. It was pathetic, he thought angrily towards himself, that he looked forward to hearing that. Well, it wasn't really that surprising since for the rest he was bored out of his mind. After all, 'handsome Jack' saw it fit to have a whole cell hallway alone for him, as the other cells were empty. Maybe it was a blessing... he did not want to be constantly around the likes of those Weevils. Worse than humans, those things were. And not just the stench of 'em.

He raised an eyebrow, a little surprised that the footsteps didn't exactly sound like a certain annoyed captain coming down the stairs, but instead a rather feminine softer step. Careful. Probably a bit scared of the big, bad Master. Well, nice, he could use a human to toy with.

But then a familiar face came into view. Ah. Right. The Time Lord crossed his arms and leaned his shoulder against the wall of his cell as his eyes, always so full of malice, watched her like a lion watching its prey. "Lookie here... Martha Jones." He gave her a wry smile "The Doctor's pet. Oh, right, the pet that's been left abandoned alongside the road. Tsk tsk... And that after all you did for him. And he never even saw you standing."

The Master grinned like a shark as he leant closer to the holes in the cell's glass door, "He took what he needed from you, and when you gave him all you had, he threw you aside like a rag doll and moved on. I bet he's got a new one already. He goes pretty fast through them, you know..." He leant back a little again, his eyes travelling over her as if appraising her before moving back up to her face. He clacked his tongue "Maybe it's because you weren't blonde, like his precious Rose. You probably didn't live up to replacing her." He told her with an amused chuckle.
“So how are you doing? I know that this isn’t the most comfortable settings, but I want to make sure that your basic needs are being met.”

Martha kept her face straight; her chestnut eyes seemed to be looking beyond the Master, rather than at him. There was no way that she was going to subject herself to one of his little ‘games’. She didn’t want him to know that there was a possibility that he was right. The Doctor was using her in his own way. He knew that despite the way that he treated her, she would still be willing to offer a helping hand.

Before she could stop herself, Martha visibly winced at the mention of Rose’s name. Did he really have to mention her? It was bad enough that the object of her affections had constantly compared her to the seemingly infallible blonde, but did he really have to mention it as well. Grabbing the bridge of her nose, Martha did her best to shake off the hurt and continue with her original purpose.

“Have you managed to get any sleep? How about your eating habits? When was the last time you ate anything?”

Martha’s soft lips kept pushing out as many questions she could think of, hoping that the doctor side of her would protect her from the vulnerability she felt being around the Master. Opening the book she carried to a blank page, she pulled out a black pen and waited for a response from the captive Time Lord.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
‘Damn him! Treating me like some bloody child!’

Isabel’s lips were turned down in as she mentally berated the ex-agent. Her feet slammed against the concrete as she made her way towards the second entrance. Crouching down slightly, she grabbed a small piece of cardboard that kept the door from locking her out. Just as she was about to enter, Isabel felt a rush of energy hit her. Stumbling back, she used the brick wall beside her in order to stabilize herself.

‘That feeling…I can feel it again’

For a few weeks, Isabel could feel something. A familiar energy that called out to her every time she step foot inside the Torchwood facility. At first she tried to ignore it, thinking that it was just her imagination. However, the feeling only got stronger with every day that passed. Of course, Isabel kept these feelings to herself, knowing full well that Jack would use this to further prove his theory that she didn’t deserve her freedom.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I’m not talking about trust Jack; I just want you to talk to her.”

Gwen pleaded as she followed the Jack’s tall figure to the entrance. She always knew that Jack could be a bit of a cold person, especially during cases. However, it seemed like he personally had it out for the Time Lady. She was sure that he said that he hadn’t met her before, so Gwen couldn’t help but wonder why. Perhaps he had a run in with another Time Lord besides the infamous Doctor, a Time Lord who wasn’t as friendly. Even so, what right did he have to carry his bias onto Isabel?

“You know, she’s not as bad as you make her out to be.” She continued, not wanting to let the subject go just yet. “Hell, she seems to get along with just about everyone…except for you that is…”
The Master just smirked amused, knowing that he did hit home from how she acted. He chuckled when he saw her wince at the mention of Rose. Bull's eye. "Oh, I can just imagine him, babbling on about 'Rose this, Rose that'... comparing you to her all the time, and you never quite measured up for him, did you? No wonder he sent you on a suicide mission... I think even he was surprised that you survived that whole year... I've got to say it was an impressive effort, though apparently not impressive enough for him..."

The evil Time Lord pushed away from the wall and paced in front of the glass door, always keeping his eyes on Martha, and grinned at her questions. "Are we playing doctor now, are we?" He remarked with another chuckle, before his face turned harsher. He stopped to stand right in front of her, facing her. "No, 'doctor', I'm not happy. I live in a 2 by 2, if that, dirty cell, you can hardly call that wooden bench a bed and I feel like I haven't had a shower or a bath in ages. Oh, and I'm sure the last meal they sent down here last night was a week-old leftover pizza..."

Though when he finished his irritated rant, he glanced up, seeming to sense something. There it was again, that energy... to be noticeable against humans, it was either a powerful psychic alien, or ... no, it felt like a Time Lord, like himself. But it wasn't the Doctor, he was certain of that. But there wasn't anyone else left...

~

Jack stopped before the entrance and turned around to face Gwen. "Gwen, what else would you want me to say besides what I just said? Look if you're going to keep an eye on her, just ... one thing, that I want to be absolutely clear about, no exception on that rule. Not to be broken, absolutely not. She's never, ever, to go down to the cell blocks on corridor 3A. No one is." He knew she was probably going to be suspicious about it, but he couldn't help that.

The whole team thought, or was led to believe, that corridor was empty, and only Jack and Martha Jones knew what was being held there. "Not even you, Gwen, or anyone else. Is that understood?" He told her with the most serious expression on his face. He really meant it. "Trust me, I will notice any breach, and it will be corrected with amnesia pills, and being thrown out of Torchwood."
“Stop it! You don’t know what you are talking about!”

Martha’s voice was harsh, hidden with a thick layer of anger with a layer of pain sitting just under it. Her caramel cheeks took on a pinkish glow as she could feel herself growing angry at herself as she realized that she had given him exactly what he wanted. She went down to the cell with a game plan, keeping her cool so that she could show the Master that he couldn’t get to her. However, he was able to prove the exact opposite in a matter of moments.

Clearing her throat, Martha took a few deep breaths as she placed the pen back into her book, closing it. She listened to him ranting on, using that time to further calm herself. By the time the Master was finished, Martha had returned back to her placid expression.

“Well, I’m not sure what I can to about the first two. But I am sure I can get them to bring you something more suitable…” Martha stopped in mid-sentence as she watched the Master, curiosity in her eyes. She couldn’t help but noticed the perplexed look on his face, as if the ceiling was in itself strange.

“Is there something wrong?”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Isabel stepped further into the entrance of Torchwood, shutting the door behind her. Closing her eyes, she decided that this time she would no longer simply ignore the energy that seemed to almost be tugging at her. Instead, Isabel would let her own energy link with it, hoping that she would be able to figure out where it was coming from. Taking a few steps forward, she stopped and knelt down on all fours. Isabel could feel the energy coming from under the place she was hovering over.

“I can feel you…” She whispered softly as she leaned forward in order to press her ear against the cold floor. It was in that position that she was able to feel the force more than she had ever felt before. From what she could gather, the energy was similar to her own, similar to that of a Time Lord. Perhaps Jack had been telling the truth…Isabel was not alone after all....

‘I can feel you….can you feel me too?’ Isabel mental whispered the question, hoping that it could reach the source of the strange energy signal. She wasn’t sure who or what was giving off the signal, however she was glad to know that it wasn’t her imagination.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I want you to say that you will at least try it…I’m sure you two have a lot in common..”

Gwen was about to continue her train of thought when she digested the rest of what he told her. Why would Jack be so concerned about corridor 3A? She was sure that there was no one or nothing down there. Then again, if Ianto was able to keep a cyberwoman in the basement without anyone knowing, it was possible that there was a prisoner down there. Judging by the way Jack was acting, she was sure that he was the one who was hiding something. Suspicion reached her face as she folded her arms just under her bosom.

Gwen wanted to know what was down there, however when he mentioned the amnesia pills and getting kicked out of Torchwood, she knew that it must have been serious. There was something that Jack was hiding within the bowels of Torchwood that he didn’t want anyone seeing.

“Alright Jack, I will keep everyone…including Izzy from down there…” Gwen paused as she looked over his shoulder towards the entrance. She could have sworn that she had told Isabel to wait for them outside, seeing as how she didn’t have direct access. Shaking her head a little as she turned her attention back to Jack, Gwen decided to add a little deal along with it.

“However, you have to promise that you will have one civil conversation with her…Do it for me. ”
"Of course I do... it's why you're getting so riled up about it. If I was lying to you, you'd know that and you would ignore me. Instead, you're getting angry because I'm pointing out the truth." The Master muttered in response to her angry exclamation, seeming to focus a little more on whatever it was that he was sensing.

Just before, it was a mere colliding of energies, something brushing against his own field of energy. But now, they were actively returning the call. Oh, yes, it definitely felt like Time Lord energy, but how was that possible? The Doctor killed every last one after all. Then again, he also killed the Daleks and they seemed to be popping up again every so often... Perhaps other Time Lords had survived the way he had.

His eyes widened just slightly, almost unnoticeable, when he heard the voice. Oooh, this was very good... this could mean his ticket out of this cell. 'I can.' He returned in his mind. 'Going out on a limb here, I would say you're a Time Lord, aren't you? Or a Time Lady, whichever... Are you a prisoner here too?'

The ex-Prime Minister frowned a little when the signal seemed to be disrupted suddenly. Pity, but no matter. Whoever it was, they would seek him out again soon enough. Then he grinned and looked to the woman in front of him. "Nah. I thought I heard a rat... I've seen a couple down here, it's practically a sewer here."

~

"Like what, long lifespan? That's about it, I'd say." Jack snapped, feeling that he really had enough of this argument. He seemed to look angry at first at her suggestion but then seemed to calm himself down, though pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration. "Gwen... Alright. I'm telling you this because I trust you. Do not betray that trust. What is down in corridor 3A is very... very dangerous. Destruction of humankind-type of dangerous, got it? Now... I will try to talk with her, fine. But I need you to understand that. I know well enough about the temptation of curiosity, but this would be a real case of 'curiosity killed the cat'. Is that clear?"

The captain waited a moment for her response, then glanced to Gabe behind her. "Come on." Then he turned again and went inside. Perhaps he had a bit too much on his head at the moment to notice Isabel shouldn't have been able to get in, but she definitely caught his attention when he saw her on the ground on all fours with her ear pressed against the floor. "What... are you doing!?" He asked, feeling puzzled and suspicious, as he went over to her.
Once again Jack has eluded my questions, Gabe thought as he followed Jack and Gwen as they were arguing, I know it is a bad time right now, but come on, he must of have something about me by now.

Gabe always wondered how the minute he woke up naked in the woods Jack showed up. It could be because Torchwood can detect time rifts, but that would mean that Gabe would of have traveled through time. But the thing that really got Gabe was that Jack was alone; the team was not there with him. Gabe went with the team on a few of their missions; he knows how they operate, so when Jack goes off on his own it is usually something important and dangerous.

I always have to worry, Gabe thought as he continued to follow Jack and Gwen, If Jack treats Isabel like this, then what does it mean if he ignores me?

Finally, Jack and Gwen stopped arguing. Gabe followed Jack and Gwen as they approached the second entrance. Strangely Gabe could hear the muffle of drums behind the door. When they opened the door, the drums got louder. Then Gabe noticed Isabel on the floor on all fours. When Gabe got closer to her the drums got louder and sounded like they were coming from right beneath him. Cupping his ears did not help one bit. Finally he could not take it any more

"CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE MAKE THOSE DRUMS STOP!?!", Gabe yelled so loud that any glass in the room cracked. He then fell on his knees and fell down next to Isabel.
Isabel could feel a single tear fall from her brown eyes as she listened to a single voice calling out to her within the mass of energy. She wasn’t alone anymore. Not only was there another Time Lord, but he was somewhere within Torchwood. Several questions began to enter her mind. While many of them pertained to how this Time Lord managed to escape, there was one that lingered in her mind.

Are you a prisoner here too?

What could he mean by that? Was it possible that Jack had been hiding this other Time Lord…her family…within Torchwood the entire time with out telling her? The questions both horrified and angered Isabel. She just couldn’t imagine a life locked away again. However, she could not ignore the man that could be the only other person left in her species.

Isabel was about to respond when she heard Jack’s booming voice, clearly not pleased at her position on the floor. She was about to open her mouth and speak when she heard Gabe’s screaming and then the sound of his body hitting the floor. Sitting up on her knees, Isabel placed her hands over his.

“Gabe…Gabe what’s wrong?!”

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Alright Jack….I understand.”

Gwen nodded as she gently patted Jack on the shoulder before she watched the ex-time agent head into Torchwood. Despite her nature, even she understood that there was a time to give in to Jack’s demands. Hopefully, she could even get the brooding man to at least give Isabel a chance to prove that she is not a threat. Perhaps the two would become great friends. After all, once she, and Ianto were gone…Isabel would be the only one to keep him company.

So wrapped up her thoughts, Gwen walked right smack into Jack’s back. Looking up at him in question, Gwen followed where Jack was looking, tilting her head in curiosity as well. Isabel was certainly a very strange girl, which simply couldn’t be ignored.

“Jack? What’s going on.?!” Gwen asked as she looked down at Gabe who was now shrinking away in pain, then at Isabel who was trying to sooth him.
-------------------------------------------------------------
“Rats?”

Martha looked around for a moment, checking by her feet to make sure that there weren’t any around. She hated having to go down in the basement, the dreary place made the young doctor’s skin crawl. However Jack was dead set on keeping the troublesome Time Lord down there and it wasn’t as if she would have been able to change his mind on that note.

After regaining her composure, Martha decided to focus on the subject that was currently grinning madly at her. Talk about things that gave her the creeps. It was his smile that always hid his ill intent. The same smile and charm that managed to help him snake his way into the highest position of government. A smile that he used like a weapon in order to turn the whole world upside down.

“I spoke to Lucy a few days ago…” Martha said as she studied his face intensely, wanting to see some sort of reaction from him. She was hoping to see some emotion from him, seeing as how she was talking about his wife. “She seems to be doing well…”
Before he could get a, no doubt angry, reply from the Time Lady as to what she was doing, they were interrupted when Gabe suddenly started screaming. Jack's eyes widened in shock as he realised just by what Gabe was being assaulted so powerfully. "Drums!?" Yes, that sounded very familiar, he thought angrily. He cast a glance at Isabel before going over to Gabe "Help me take him outside." He instructed before he put his arms under Gabe's shoulders, then waited for either Gwen or Isabel to take Gabe's legs and carried him back outside. Hopefully once he was further away from the source that Jack was pretty sure about, the assault would stop.

Once they were outside, he put Gabe down again and looked down to him. "Gabe, are you alright?" He couldn't help but wonder why he heard the drums though. Was it because he was a cyborg, as the captain found out? He'd have to discuss that with him later. But for the moment... "Excuse me for a sec." The immortal said before walking a bit further away from the three.

He pressed the communicator by his ear, contacting a certain young doctor. "Martha?" Jack kept his voice down since he didn't want Gwen, Isabel or Gabe to overhear "Is he doing anything? Gabe just collapsed hearing the drums, and Isabel is acting... strange. I would think he has something to do with that, so whatever it is, make him stop doing it. Or else I'll come down with a strong sedative and make him myself."

~

Just after he lost the connection with the Time Lord or lady up there, curiously he also felt something else enter his field of energy. Not a Time Lord though, he could sense that, so he wasn't really very interested. It was their own problem if they decided to run into his energy field, heh. The Master watched the woman in front of him, and chuckled softly at her reaction to the comment about rats. Typical. She could stand up to him and other terrible alien creatures, but make her think there's a rat...

His expression grew a bit more serious and he raised an eyebrow at her comment about Lucy. It was barely noticeable, but his eyes narrowed a bit irritated. "Really? Last I heard from Jack, she went into a mental institution..." He shrugged "Has it been that long already that she has been released from it now? Gee, time flies when you're having fun..." The Time Lord said, obviously sarcastic. "Yeah... good on her. Though I suppose she'd be happier if I'd just killed her somewhere along the way..."
"No, I think she would have been happier if you actually cared about her…”

Martha snapped as she got dangerously closer to the glass that separated herself from the Master. She honestly felt bad for Lucy. The shared a common fact that the Time Lords that they had sworn the allegiance to, only to be used and abused by the men who refused to give them the only thing they ever asked for…love.

Just as she was about to say something else, she picked up on Jack’s voice coming in on her ear piece. Without removing her eyes from the Time Lord, Martha listened to Jack’s frantic call. Her eyes widened slightly as she took a step back from the glass.

“No Jack, from what I can tell…he hasn’t done anything…What do you mean by she’s acting weird…you don’t think…” Her voice trailed off as she continued to stare at the Time Lord in front of her. If he was able to effect Gabe from all the way down in the cell ward…was it possible that he had found away to contact Isabel? This was not good…not good at all.

“Jack…take Isabel and Gabe as far away from Torchwood as possible…I think he might have made contact with Isabel…”

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Come on Izzy, give me a hand!”

Gwen grabbed one foot while Isabel grabbed the other. With Jack carrying the bulk of Gabe’s weight, the two women began to carry the injured male outside. As Gwen went to work trying to make Gabe as comfortable outside as possible, Isabel turned her attention back towards the door. She felt herself walking towards the entrance, almost as if she was drawn to it.

At first Izzy hadn’t heard the drums, however with every step she took towards the place were she first felt the Time Lord, she could hear it and it was getting louder. There was a small amount of pain at first; however she managed to push it aside. The drumming was giving her a closer connection to the Time Lord. Now she could figure out where he was.

‘Hello…if you can hear me…stay where you are…I…I think I know where you are…’ Isabel sent out the mental message as she headed towards where the drumming was coming from.
