Amethyst Rose Everwood

User Image Amethyst felt a rising sense of excitement as she thought of the fact that she might have the chance to learn some really interesting new spells. It didn't matter to her that the magic was considered gray since she was intelligent enough to know that knowledge was neither good nor bad, it merely depended on how a person used it. She was about to say as much when someone else entered the compartment and she quickly shut her mouth.

After a moments hesitation she smiled tentatively at another girl from her house. " H-hello. We are just talking really. I do not mind if you join us." She said smiley politely. Sliding the papers she had been reading back into the folder she held it out toward Rychard, returning it with a nod of thanks.

Mercy instantly shoved the papers away and passed them back to Rychard without glancing at the girl, giving him a grin that could have been interpretted as one of two things;
"Wow, that's great, good for you!"
Or "The sooner the better"
She pulled her feet up onto the seat and brought her knees to her chest, wrapping her long arms around them, then glanced over at the door with a another grin, this one with no double meanings, just her kind, welcoming smile she always had.
"Come on in, we were just swapping stories from previous years, I've got some brilliant ones from my fifth year." She patted the seat next to her and turned to the others, already babbling about the time they'd started a levitation club in the compartment three from the left in the fourth carriage, and the time they'd drawn all over the face of one of the new teachers asleep in a compartment by themselves.

Rychard stuffed the folders back into his bag as fast and composed as he could. The less people who knew about their plan the better. So once he had his, well now his, research in the bag he sat down and greeted the girl with a small smile; deciding before hand to leave his fangs out of sight. Also popping another blood pop quickly into his mouth prevented him from immediately being included in conversation; he needed to gauge this new girl and from the look of her an obvious test might scare her away from the other two as well as himself.

Rom walked the halls as he waited for the students to arrive. It was nerve racking as he remembered the years spent wandering the halls always seeming to struggle with a temper he could never control.
However he was different now; he was the potions master. He could control the rage inside of him rather than it control him. His next feeling to overcome....NERVES. Would they like him? Would he measure up to the greats that once taught the subject? In his pondering Romulus found himself walking past the portraits of the past potions teachers that once graced the halls of Hogwarts. Snape, Flamel, Dee, Magnus, and all the others since the construction of the school stared at his pacing form.
"Relax young one." Said the portrait of John Dee
"Quite right you will be fine Romulus." Continued Nickolas Flamel
"Remember they must respect you, you are Professor Rahl." Finished the portrait of Severus Snape
With the words of previous potion masters Rom took a deep breath and walked towards the great hall. The students would be there in a few short hours and he would be ready. As he exited the dungeon he smiled in spite of himself.

____________A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others.____________

Life after Hogwarts for William had been difficult. Nothing went right, his love life, his career, his family. Instead, he seemed to get all the bad bits, and none of the good. He'd graduated from Hogwarts with the best grades of his year, though that did little for him in the Muggle world, it wasn't like Hogwarts was a registered school, or NEWTs a registered qualification. But even though he was a year younger than all the other applicants, he managed to get a placement in a renowned university in England, where he studied to become a teacher, coming out with a first in English Literature, specifically folklore and myths.

He thought this would mean a good future for him, but he waited a whole year for anywhere to employ him, trying muggle and wizarding schools alike. High schools and elementary schools, private and state, but he was turned down from anywhere and everywhere.
It was around his 22nd birthday he found his fiance in bed with a backpacker named Paolo, and that had not ended happily.
After a couple more months of moping with little or no income, he was forced to move back onto his parents farm. His father had grudgingly agreed to pay him a tiny wage for helping out with the farm chores, which was hardly better than before, but he accepted it, simply to pass the time.

Thankfully, not a week after this bargain was struck, the Headmaster of Hogwarts had shown up on his doorstep and insisted he take the post of Defence Aginst the Dark Arts teacher. It made sense really; It clearly ran in his family to be the super geek, hence him coming top in all his subjects other than divination, a positively stupid subject in his opinion. DADA was his favourite though, and by far his strongest subject. It had gotten to the point that when their teacher was unavailable it would be left to him to teach for a lesson or two, which was fine by him. He found the experience exciting to say the least, getting to share his knowledge with people. And so to be given the oppertunity to earn a living from his hobby... well, how could he refuse, and here he was.

He'd apparated from Kings Cross station into Hogsmeade and strolled up to the castle, his trunk floating along beside him, an item he was imensely proud of. His name had been stamped into the hard leather in his first year, but before he left, his mother had paid to have the word 'Proffessor' stamped in the small space above it. He glanced down at it now and grinned, proud of his new status. He pulled a wand out of his pocket and quietly muttered a charm to open the gates for him, and close them again after him.

A small nostalgic sigh escaped his lips as he looked up at what had been his home for 7 years, and made his way up to the front door with a happy smil gracing his plump lips. He pushed it open slowly, relishing the feel of the hard wood on the palms of his hands.
The inside was even more amazing than he remembered, huge, fantastic, homely. He let his floating trunk fall to the floor of the entrance hall, and placed his satchel and backpack ontop.
With a quick glance either side of him, he rushed forward to sprint up the huge staircase and slide back down the banister.
With a chuckle, he climbed down again and retrieved his bags, making his way towards his new offic and chambers.
"Yep, I'm back"

Rom had just walked up the stairs at the same time that William had walked through the giant double doors into the Great Hall. Romulus had been in the same year as William and knew that though he was a wizard William had always wanted to make it work in the muggle world. Romulus had always thought it was a brave thing to admit that especially in front of more than a few Slytherins. Though the amount of muggle discrimination had diminished greatly there was still a heavy amount of thought Pureblood superiority.
"Hathaway!?" He called not unfriendly "That can't be you!"
Jogging up to him smiling he held his hand out.
"The Headmaster never told me you were teaching here when I accepted the job."

Something about the halls was making Will a little jumpy, just in the sense he kept expecting McGonagall to jump out from behind a suit of armour and hit him with a weeks worth of detention. Though he was one of her best students, and openly one of her favourites, he'd still been a dangerous trouble making. Of course, she was gone now, retired or something. He was just getting into the feel of walking the strangley empty alls when a voice from behind him yelled his name, making him jump roughly three feet in the air.

All that thinking about McGonagall had apparently etched her into his mind, because he was certain the voice yelling his surname, as only that woman could, sounded exactly like her. He spun around on his heel, loosing concentration o the charm keeping his trunk afloat as it smacked onto the floor. His eyes were wide and innocent, a look he'd developed for the soul purpose of getting out trouble and making people believe it wasn't his fault.

Thankfully the voice didn't belong to his formidable old headmistress and transfiguration teacher, but someone who looked to his age, but was too far away to tell exactly. He squinted and grinned, noticing the farmilar form of Romulous Rahl, a good friend from his school days.
"I coud say the same to you, Rahl, i never once pictured you as a teacher!" Will accepted the offered hand once Romulous was close enough and shook it vigorously, grinning at the thought that perhaps he wouldn't be the only teacher under the age of 100.
"I thought you were gonna be an aura or something. A much more Rock 'N' Roll job than teaching hormonal teenagers. Last i heard you were somewhere exotic." He perched on a waist high stone wall ebside them and looked the man over, surprised to see how much he'd changed.

After shaking his friend's hand he clasped them behind his neck and smiled all the broader.
"Yeah I thought about being an Auror, definitely more Rock N' Roll than dealing with teenage drama again but a Ravenclaw never quits." He said as though he were admitting a crime "Once they told me I would have to give up my research on the Philosopher's Stone I apparated out of that mess. I've been spending a few months here and there learning what I could about Alchemy. A few published papers and more than few invented potions later I found out that the Hogwarts needed a Potions Master." He sighed "Well it's good to know I am not the only newbie. So how have you been, did the muggle world treat you well?

Will nodded and put his hands in the pockets of his pale grey muggle suit. "Sounds great, i'd love to half the things you just mentioned." He sighed and crossed his legs at the ankles.
"It seems the muggle world hates me. I couldn't get a job, my fiance cheeted on me with some greasey tourist named Paolo, my father will hardly talk to me, my youngest sister's become an emo... The headmater here pretty much dragged me out of the mud... infact i was quite muddy when they came to the door..." He shook his head and looked down at his feet, then back up at the ceiling.
"To be honest... i think this place jinxed me... it's like the only place i'll have a successfull job is here... and it feels like home. I've not felt more at peace since the end of my 7th year..."
He blushed at saying something so mushy, but it was so true, he had to say it.

“Thanks,”Cassie smiled hugely at the three students and bounced over to sit in the seat indicated by the older girl. She wasn't stupid, she realized that they had all clammed up the moment she walked in. She wanted to know what they were hiding but she figured that she could interogate them, have them clam up more and never tell her, or she could wait. Patience is a virtue after all.
She really wondered what was on those papers that the girl next to her had handed over to the lone boy. Cassie had learned her name at one point, Mary, Marcy, Mercy, maybe? Something with an 'm.' It was one of the many skills her father had insisted she learn as a child, to learn as much information about others as possible from casual conversation.
She observed her companions for a moment before introducing herself in the elegant tone her mother had ingrained in her as a child, "I am Cassiopea Malfoy, but please, call me Cassie." So what if her mother would have never allowed her to shorten her name, she never really listen to the woman, anyways. She looked closely at the boy, again, there was something odd about him. Cassie itched to ask him about the oddness, but shruged off her curiousity, it wouldn't do to offend him at this point. She could think more about it later.

Mercy grinned at the new addition to their compartment and stuck out her hand for her to shake. This girl seemed a little above the simple act of shaking hands, her eloquent introduction so much more practiced than her own, so Mercy stuck with the greeting she'd grown up with.
"I'm Mercy Hathaway, nice to meet you Cassie. Malfoy, are you Draco Malfoy's daughter?" She held no particular spite towards the Malfoy family, sure they did something bad a while back, but right now, it was only her awkward thirst for knowledge that allowed her curious side to break free.
"Didn't a Scorpius Malfoy go here a few years ago? Any relation to you?" She scooted over towards the window and turned sideways so she was facing Cassie, her back against the wall and her feet on the seat.
"I don't mean to pry, if you'd rather not tell me that's fine." Some people didn't like her asking about their families, especially ones that were involved in the great war 25 years previously.

Natalie Wells

Natalie looked silently around her new classroom. It felt weird being there again, but for a different reason this time. She was sure some students, that she had gone with were still attending the school. She had thought that maybe she was too young for the job. Older people gave some sort of respect and she was quite young still. She sighed, she worried to much like always. It was always like that, she'd worry about something and in the end it would all turn out fine. She could at times envy her siblings at how carefree they where. It was weird how different she was from them. Taking one last look she decided to go out of the room. She wasn't sure when the students would be arriving but she guessed it wouldn't be too long.

The castle was creepily quiet and her steps echoed as she walked. She was hoping she wasn't the only young teacher at Hogwarts. She didn't have all her school friends anymore and it would've been nice with someone her own age to talk too.

Michelle "Micka" Joyce Wayland

The door exploded inward, a blast of green light, a scream, hooded figures swarming... With a gasp Micka woke from the nightmare. The jerky ride of the Knight Bus stopped and the lights of Hogsmeade surrounded her, only slightly dimmed by the bus' grimy windows. It was dusk in town, and her new students should be arriving shortly, via the train. Micka had planned on arriving sooner, but last minute issues had come up with her late husbands will, delaying her until today.

Getting help from the driver to unload her trunk, Micka cast a quick spell on it, raising it into the air behind her. She heafted her owl's cage quickly and headed up the long drive to Hogwarts. "Come on Wingnott, we should hurry if we want to beat the students here." Her owl had no reply but a soft, sleepy chirp, and Micka chuckled slightly to herself.

The walk was rather quick, and soon she was opening the heavy doors of Hogwarts. To her delight, and suprise, she noticed a few teachers lingering just inside. "Good afternoon! First day of term, very exciting, isn't it? Almost feels like I've come home." Setting down the cage, Micka extended her hand in greeting to the nearer, scruffy teacher. "I'm Michelle Wayland, Transfigurations. Forgive me asking, but do I know you? You look like a boy I once knew..."
Daren Morpheus Bayes

User ImageGrowing bored Daren got to his feet with a lazy stretch and smile towards the two girls in his compartment. "If you ladies will excuse me I believe I will go change into my robes. It is early yet, but I am sure time will fly soon." He said politely excusing himself. He grabbed his robes from his trunk before heading out to the main corridor already planning on finding a new compartment. He was determined to find something to amuse himself with, and if he ws lucky he might someone who could be useful to him.

After slipping into the bathroom and changing into his robes, glad he wouldn't have to fight to do it later when everyone else who decided to wait until last minute to change crowded in, he headed off down the corridor searching for a new spot to sit. Finally he found one that seemed a bit more lively. Plastering a friendly and charming smile into place he knocked on the compartment door. "Got room for one more?" He asked casually. With a quick glance about he noted that none of them were from his house, but that didn't bother him.

He let his gaze wander to the only guy in the compartment. "You seem to be having a good bit of luck, having a compartment full of such lovely ladies all to yourself." He said, letting his tone stay light and joking as he addressed Rychard.
