Azurite flinched when the male knight moved impossibly close to her. Their shoulders touched lightly as the other put his lips right up against her ear. What he said made the girl's blood boil with anger. As the other moved away, Azurite moved quickly again, this time using fast and powerful slashes with her sword. She moved with grace and power at the same time, striking at the knight. "I'm perfectly capable of fighting alone" she growled, her sword colliding with the knight's.

Gavin growled in a righteous anger; this fellow mage had the gall to argue he was in the wrong! He almost couldn't believe she could be saying such a thing! Pointing accusingly at her, he shouted over the battle: "For your information, I'm trying to kill this thing because the dragon riders and their damn animals are trying to destroy the city! Or haven't you looked around you and noticed all the flames and death?! These dragons are harming us, so may the heavens have mercy if I deign to defend myself and others of Olin!" Gavin could only shake his head when she claimed the mages started it. "You are a traitor and a fool. I do not wish to hurt you, but it seems as though I am not left much choice." Gavin knew she was ready for him, both of them magically shielding themselves. The wounded dragon let out a pathetic whimper before climbing back onto its feet, looking back to Akane curiously. Gavin felt his heart pounding in his chest; she deserved punishment for helping a dragon, but could he really bring himself to focus on killing her when the rest of the city suffered?

The sound of a collosal roar broke Gavin's reverie. His gaze quickly moving back to the Circle tower, a large purple dragon landed inside the cloister surrounding the tower itself, a rider faintly climbing off in the distance, followed by several more dragons. They were trying to get inside, likely to kill the apprentices! Or worse, make a shot for Mazura himself! Gavin coldly looked back to Akane before putting his staff away. "You sound like you're more interested in ideals than politics. If you want to do what's right, then help me stop this conflict before more innocent people get hurt. I can't surrender to an inader, but maybe we can find what they want and get them to leave us alone. I will even leave that dragon alone if it pleases you. But if you really want to be on the right path, then follow me instead of us arguing." Without checking to see if she would stay or follow, Gavin departed back towards the circle. He immediately regretted not ending that dragon's life or fighting that woman, but more important things came first. Like preventing the Circle from burning down.

Gavin ran the distance back to the circle, walking these steps for the third time tonight. His lungs burned and his legs ached. But given the wounded were around him, one would not hear Gavin complain. An injured mage was crawling out the cloister walls, his robes doing little to stop a sword to the abdomen. "H-Hold on, let me fix you up..." Gavin spoke nervously, kneeling down next to the bleeding figure. He could see inside as he touched the wound. He looked down at his work momentarily, glowing waves of energy cascading around the wound and closing it. Looking back again, it appeared the large purple dragon had dropped off a woman with firey red hair. She was just entering the large doors, along with what looked to be a tribal looking fellow. On one hand, Gavin wanted to jump out and stop them. On the other hand, two dragon riders plus the giant purple dragon still glaring at the wounded mages and knights might have something to say about that.

Moisture pelted Koit's face and Nelo's scales, however the two were in perfect harmony in this moment. The storm unleashed upon Olin painted the perfect portrait of this battle that would take its place in history. These attacks were but mere distractions in order to spread the mages thin and make it possible to free Roth. So far it was working perfectly, but they had to move lest they suffer too many casualties on all sides.

Koit could feel the burning hatred Nelo nestled in his breasts in the mages that mixed with Koit's own displeasure of them. Where Althea showed mercy, Koit would have none to spare. All efforts were to get Roth out by any means necessary. Beneath the flashes of lightning, others could see Koit's eyes were the same as Nelo's own. The two did not need to share any words, they already knew each other's thoughts. Koit was as absolutely silent and on his face was a unwavering expression. The demon had awoken. There was no other thoughts in his mind, only his objective. Save Roth.

As the attack began, Koit descended down with Althea and Alin. However, as he passed a tower Nelo suddenly vaulted to the left avoiding a fireball. Narrowing his eyes Koit pressed Nelo forward who immediately understood. Fire crackled in the dragon's maw as he changed direction and darted for the tower. The mage seemed ready to fire once more but Nelo was quicker. The dragon unleashed a fireball of his own that obliterated the mage. With that, the son of the fallen Khali returned to his normal path to the main castle. Roth had to be within its dungeons. Althea was the first to land in the courtyard followed by several dragons. Nelo shot around the interior of the courtyard and breathed a terrible torrent of sticky flames around the perimeter of the courtyard. A few mages were caught in the flames and immediately felt its excruciating bite. Nelo's flames stuck to whatever it was breathed upon and continued to burn through even after they are dead. The enraged dragon landed and Koit dismounted him.

Nelo bellowed a massive roar threatening any who challenged it with a death personally delivered death by its talons. Silhouetted by his flames, Nelo could strike fear into the hearts of any normal man who faced him. His teeth were bared and talons clenched into the ground below. Hatred and damnation burned in his eyes as he recounted the death of his mother further fueling his desire for a blood retribution. Koit however remained silent and simply walked toward the entrance of the castle. However, three men got in his way. Two knights and a mage, all of whom wore the expressions of the righteous defenders of their fair city. Koit however, seemed not to take notice as he just continued his pace toward them. For only a moment, the mage could feel a pulse of his sheer murderous intent that had been building inside of him.

The first knight did not heed this warning and charged the young tribal male. He slashed down with his broadsword but was shocked to find there was no one in its path. With widened eyes he turned to his left only to see a dagger for a moment before it pierced through his forehead and tore through his head. Blood sprayed from the wound and onto Koit whose eyes blazed with unholy fury. The second knight shocked by the sudden action backed up for only a moment before he too charged Koit. He slashed in precise arcs attempting to catch the rider off guard and slay him. However, Koit sidestepped and nimbly dodged his strikes before catching the man's arm during a thrust. With a single swipe the man ceased to move as he struggled to process what just happened to him. Blood poured from the deep gash upon his neck and he toppled to the ground. Koit's arms and body was becoming covered in blood now and he slowly turned to the remaining mage.

The mage was a young man, one who seemed relatively new to the Circle and just wanted to do his part to assist in anyway he could. This mage backed away pleading and begging for his life. Just as he turned to run, he abruptly couldn't move. Shaking with terror he slowly reached to his necked only to find something clenched around it. A bladed whip that was biting deeper into his flesh every passing moment. Losing oxygen his eyes became bloodshot as he gazed to Koit for mercy. However, staring back at him were the empty pools of death itself. With a sharp flick, those eyes grew higher as the mage's head was loosed from his body. Koit withdrew his whip and felt a presence. He turned to see another young mage tending to the wound fallen mage had been attacked by Althea. For what seemed like an eternity their eyes met and no doubt he could feel the chill of death emanating from Koit. Then before Koit could engage, he heard Althea call for him. Cutting his gaze away, Koit darted after the redhead.

Honestly, arguing wasn’t getting them anywhere and she was basically not even paying attention to the other mage in any case. The names he was throwing at her was really nothing new. She wasn’t sure if he was being ignorant to the fact that they held the dragon riders’ leader, or simply didn’t think it was a worthy reason for them to attack. His cloaks, after all, told of him being in the circle. Stupid circle. Akane puffed out her cheeks as she returned her entire focus on the ice mage, listening to him without being jaded. The guy was interesting. Stop the conflict before more people get hurt? It wasn’t like she liked letting innocents get killed and so she was intrigued. Almost immediately her guard fell slightly and she perked up. If he was leaving the dragon alone then there was really no reason for her to try and attack the guy, despite the fact that he had already injured the poor creature. Revenge was a loop and if this kid was willing to stop, she’d stop the loop for the moment and follow him. Perhaps her curiosity was going to get her in more trouble again but what was life without chance?

Dispersing her magic, solely to conserve it at this point, who one what sort of high level spells she’d have to whip up later. Seeing to the young dragon to make sure he would get away, she muttered a small good luck charm in hopes it would aid in the injured creature getting away with no more harm to him. Slicking more of her bangs away from her face, Akane hopped off of the building she was on, landing where the ice mage had been previously and immediately taking off after him. She was curious. What did the boy think the right path was? She wondered if he was aware that there were not any paths anymore, simply overgrown brush in a forest that one was trying to get out of. Her muscles burned from the over use of them at such a high extent but she continued on, ignoring it for the time being. If it got too bad, she’d just have to resort to drinking one of her concoctions and hoping for the best result.

Stalking up behind the ice mage, she followed with light steps, peering over his shoulder as he healed the injured mage. Welp, now she knew where Althea and Koit were in this mess. It seemed like she just avoided being seen by his death glare as well. She could feel the heaviness in the air, practically screaming danger to her enhanced senses. She twirled her weapon around with a lazy movement, stepping out once Koit’s attention was on the doors, following Althea’s call. ” Damn, “ She hummed, nudging the ice mage with her staff slightly. ” If looks could kill you’d probably have your throat torn open. “ She murmured, eyeing the mage that had gotten the end of Koit’s whip. She nudged the ice mage’s shoulder with the back of her hand. ” You’re part of the circle, you should know why they’re here. “ she commented, giving her weapon another lazy twirl. Her eyes flickered down to the newly healed mage and the healer, clicking her tongue against the roof of her mouth. What to do now. Sighing to herself, she lifted her staff and pressed it against the healed mage’s stomach, poking him. ” Hey, is he gonna be able to move anytime soon? " she asked, frowning more to herself than anything.

She took a few steps away from the two mages that were in the circle and pranced forward slightly before pausing, weapon lifting to rest on her shoulder. Turning back to the ice mage, she smirked. ” I’d offer for you to come if you want to be on the right path but ya’ know, they might like, kill you or something. “ She tittered, whirling back around and with a flick of her magic, she vanished. She was practically static in the air, as she flashed forward after the three riders. She considered what she could do now, chances now, the group of them would either ignore her, think she was a joke, or attack. She was hoping that they would accept her offer, but that probability was the lowest out of the options in her head. Hey it couldn’t hurt to try, right? Pausing as her bare feet hit the ground, the electricity of her magic settling in the air. Whirling around, to face the fiery red head and two other riders. ” Yo, fancy seeing you here. “ she deadpanned, with a short flick of her wrist in a wave. ” Figure you’d need a little help finding your head. “

Location // Olin xxxx Mood // displeased xxxxCompanions // another mage (Gavin) > Koit, Althea, and one other rider

Fenrir shook his head as he deflected her first attack with his sword simply stepping out of the way of the second and third. "You aren't doing the best of jobs convincing me of that."He smirked continuing to taunt the young woman. While he looked the part of the brute Fenrir was far from an Idiot. Like a musician's art is music, Fenrir's art was war and when it came to war he was a prodigy. ' It won't be long now.' He thought to himself knowing that in a fight the first to lose their head was the first to lose their composure. As long as he could play her attacks off as noneffective he could coax her into loosing her cool , and from there the fight would be his. "I'm still willing to accept your surrender." He chuckled kicking some of the rain water that was pooling on the ground towards the young woman.

Azurite quickly jumped out of the way as the knight kicked the water at her. "If you're going to continue your pitiful taunt and games, then I'm leaving" she snorted before whistling loudly over the din of the rain. Cloudjumper reappeared not moments later along with two other dragons named Tuluth and Arith. The two weren't as big as Cloudjumper, but certainly fearsome in their looks with many horns and spikes on their body. You called? I can see from your memories that this human is quite the jokester he spoke to Azurite, letting out a snort of his own into the cold air. The dragon dipped its head as Azurite jumped up onto his back.

A loud roar coming from the castle alerted Azurite and Cloudjumper. She is calling for others to come Cloudjuper translated. "Let's go then" she said back to the dragon telepathically. Taking one more look at the knight, Azurite put her sword back into its sheathe. "See you, Mr. Knight" she said as the four-winged dragon took off into the air.

Cloudjumper flew toward the castle; the rest of the Vale dragons following behind him. They had seen their leaders fly toward the human stronghold and would follow the four-winged dragon and his human companion anywhere they went. Knights and Mages saw the new battalion and attempted to fight back, but were overwhelmed by the power and size of the dragons. Flames erupted around the area from the Vale dragons as they fought the mages and knights. Azurite now had her sword drawn again as she slashed and fought with knights and mages.

Fenrir sighed as the young woman sounded her retreat by whistling for her beast. 'Well that's disappointing.' He thought to himself slamming his sword into it's scabbard, and breaking out into a sprint in pursuit of the woman."I DIDN'T SAY YOU COULD LEAVE!" He shouted as he followed the woman by foot keeping her dragon in his sight most of the time. It didn't take long from him to realized the direction she was flying was to the castle, and besides that it seemed to be where quite a few dragons were beginning to roost. 'Something's not right.' He thought as he ran towards the castle only to find his path cut off by flames. He slid to a stop on the wet stone road the flames fizzling as he splashed water on them but refusing to go out.

The charred remains of mages, and those civilians unlucky enough to find them selves on the street as the battle began littered the streets. The smell of burnt hair and singed flesh filled the air so fully that it almost made him lose his lunch. "So many lives ended prematurely." He said shaking his head at the sceen, but he could spare no more time to mourn the fallen, All he could do now was try, and avenge their deaths.

He ran towards the building closest to him with the lowest roof, and quickly scaled it. Moving repeatedly from one roof top to the next pushing his endurance to it's peak. As the castle came clearly into view he let out a small sigh of relief. 'Just a bit further and I can have a minute to rest.' He thought as he approached the massive stone building. His eyes moved over every stone he could see counting each, and every dragon that perched itself on the castle. Thankfully his being an army of only one, would make it a lot easier to infiltrate the castle undetected.

The boom of thunder and fall of rain did well to muffle his foot falls as he made is way onto the battlements that surrounded the castles main courtyard. He stayed low and out of sight using the shadows to conceal himself from the dragons' views as he closed in on the castle. 'They have to be here for something, this isn't just a regular attack.' He thought eyeing the sky as the amount of dragons seemed to increase. Careful to remain undetected Fenrir slipped into the castle through a window on the third floor, stepping slowly as to not disturb anything that might cause an echo in the large stone corridor that would draw attention to him.He moved towards the main hall peeking around each corner carefully before moving to the next not sure how deeply the castle had been infiltrated by their enemy.

User ImageRyniel sat at the desk in her spacious room, quill scribbling away in one hand while the other rested with pointed finger on the specific sentence she was reading. The rune staining the parchment wasn't the neatest, nor was it too rough. She needed to practice further; it had to be just right so as not to fail. It was as she was beginning to draw it for the fourth time that she began to sense the anxious tension in in the air. The quill stopped its scratching and she laid it down next to her practice work. It was almost irritating, being interrupted, but she knew it was important. A knock came at her door as she strode over to it, unlocking and opening it to reveal the mage outside. He paled when he saw her glaring eyes on him. "L-Lord Linea has-" "Called a meeting. Yes, I know." The man nodded and bowed his head in respected before making haste for the stairs. Ryniel walked to the stairs at her own pace, but as she reached the shadows, she sank into the ground, body disguising itself as yet another shadow on the ground. Like this, she swiftly traveled to the throne room, slipping under the door and rising off to one side with ease. She kept her distance from the rest of the gathered Circle, and listened to Mazura's words with growing interest. A smirk curved her lips by the end of his speech.

-------------

The storm howling outside was a mix of glory and terror to be had, in Ryniel's mind. She paced along a wall for a few seconds, gathering intel of the situation. Her eyes darted this way and that, picking out the easiest targets. Then she spotted a dragon swooping in low, to ram the watchtower and shake off mages to the ground, she presumed. Except the druid wasn't going to let that happen. As the dragon flew towards the tower and angled itself, she ran out along the wall, form shifting as she did so. White fur mottled with black markings covered her flesh. Clawed paws scraped along the ground as she ran. Her ears were raised, listening to the whooshing sound of the incoming dragon. With a snarl, the snow leopard leapt from the wall's edge and toward the dragon's back, right onto the startled rider whom was drawing his blade too late. Claws dug into flesh and the dragon rider screamed in pain before the druid bit powerfully into his throat with sharp fangs gleaming in the lightning. The beast companion to the rider roared, enraged, and flew away from the tower to focus on the large cat on its back. It swung its head around, but the cat was already gone. A raven flew away from the corpse as the dragon roared in frustration and despair over its companion's death.

The bird flew towards the ground in the marketplace, transforming back into its true form, the she-elf who now crouched on the floor. Ryniel slowly rose to her feet, looking around at the chaos. The cold rain was at once cool and unwelcoming on her bare flesh, and she darted forward, taking on the appearance of the snow leopard once more. A warrior dropped down from above, where a dragon could be seen circling the area before taking off to join more of its beastly friends. The rider drew his sword and swung at the cat, but she leapt to the side and circled around behind him with swift ease. He was just beginning to turn when she leapt upon him, fangs and claws digging into his arm and crushing his bones. The sword fell with a clatter and the rider stumbled backwards and onto the ground, the large cat tearing at him with her strong claws. His good arm was slashed as he tried to push her off, and the leopard's hind legs pressed hard onto his legs so he could not roll to the side and throw her off. Fangs crunched down on the once-good arm, leaving him vulnerable and unable to help himself. His death was swift, throat torn open by the large cat's fangs. The leopard left the corpse and was about to leave when the rider's beast landed heavily on the ground before her.

Ryniel bared her bloody fangs, rain not quite done washing the crimson off tooth and fur. It struck its head forward in an attempt to catch her in its teeth, but she leapt away, dashing for one of its wings. Its tail swung to meet her, and she jumped onto it, using it as a path to one of the beast's wings. Once there she dug her claws into the thinner membrane, ripping and tearing where she could. The beast roared and shook, but her powerful claws clung onto the wing. After a few moments of desperate effort, the dragon stopped to turn its head at her. She faced it, fierce blue eyes glaring into equally opposing golden eyes. She rushed forward, leaping off the wing as the dragon opened its maw. Her claws dug into its nose as she climbed up, making her way to a ridge above one of its eyes. It shook its head and she nearly lost her grip, but her claws dug further into the beast's scales. Once the dragon's head stilled, the leopard leaned over the ridge and clawed the eye below. Blood and pained roaring was the welcoming result of her attack, and she struggled to hold on again as the beast threw its head back and roared. She took the opportunity to race down its back then leap into the air, form shifting to once more become a raven. She circled overhead, watching the snarling beast search for her with its one eye.

The bird landed in front of the beast seconds later and shifted into a she-elf once more. Branches stretched up from the ground and entangled her form, and once they retreated, the druid stood fully clothed. She looked at the beast, but instead of wearing a triumphant smirk, she stared it down with a serious gaze. "You shall not leave this place, beast," the druid said coolly as it turned to look at her. Suddenly, shadowy tendrils shot up from the ground, wrapping themselves around the writhing dragon. It let out a defiant roar, then sharp spikes rose from the ground beneath it, piecing through maw and skull. The beast was captured in mid-roar for several moments before the shadows retreated, becoming part of the scenery once again. Ryniel turned away from the beast, searching for more prey.

Off at a distance, she could see a small force beginning to gather around the front doors of the castle. The druid ran toward it, noticing a pair of mages ahead of her. One lied on the ground, injured, while the other, a younger mage, was tending to his wounds. Ryniel halted near the two and gripped the young mage's shoulder tightly. "Onward, pup. They are trying to break into the Circle's domain." With that the elven woman darted toward the doors, magic and adrenaline thrumming in her veins.

Staring towards the entrance while the other mage suffered less after Gavin's help at his feet, Gavin felt a bit at a loss for what to do. Sure, he could follow them, but... that man. The one who stared at him with those deep brown eyes. Gavin didn't feel fear of many situations, but that stare pierced his soul, promising death like he had already delivered to Gavin's friends outside. It almost was enough to make Gavin turn around, go home, and forget being a mage altogether. But that's what the Dragon Rider wanted, he knew. Gavin wasn't prepared to give him the pleasure. Gripping his staff, he started to stand, only to find Akane had actually followed him all the way back to the Circle and made a joking comment about Gavin's survivabilty if that man's look were actual instead of proverbial daggers. Looking back to her and sometimes back to the out of reach front door, he responded to her queries while shielding his eyes from the torrential downpour. "I know... you see why I feel like the Dragon Riders aren't exactly the saints they claim to be... that guy really gave me the willies." The young man next to him let out a groan of pain; Gavin merely pat him on the shoulder. "Don't worry, you're going to be fine... just don't exert yourself too much for right now. I can only close your wounds, I can't make your pain stop just yet..." Gavin watched as Akane moved forward, turning back towards him. She made another comment about the right path again... did she think she was doing the just thing here, helping the riders? Before another word could issue from Gavin's lips, a burst of energy caused Akane to vanish. He assumed she was going to join her new friends rather than actually doing the right thing and helping her fellow mages. Gavin merely sighed and stood, now free to consider his options without anyone peering over his shoulder.

That is, of course, until a sharp clap on his shoulder nearly sent him jumping out of his skin. Quickly darting his eyes to its source, he was very relieved to see Ryniel looking back on the other end of the arm. She was the closest thing Mazura had to a second in command, even if she was reluctant to serve in that role. He wouldn't admit it, but being a half-elf himself, she felt like the once trace of his former home here at the Circle. But now, he was just glad to see her to know he had reliable, powerful backup. Gavin didn't even have time to respond to her request before she urged him forward, running towards the front door. Gavin hated all this running; at least he wouldn't have to exercise for a bit. Even if he did, his lungs would probably protest. Without a goodbye to his injured friend, Gavin followed rapidly, entering the tower and looking for where the riders made off to. The normally bustling halls were devoid of life, books scattered on the ground from the explosions of fire rocking the tower from the attackers. The whole building seemed to hum with energy, the magic of the place attuning to the energy being used to defend it also. Worst though, the silence was thick inside, making him wonder where the riders had ran off to. Gavin spoke quickly to Ryniel as they considered their options: "Ryniel, I saw three dragon riders enter moments before you got here. Another mage followed them, but I think she is trying to help them..." Gavin didn't mean to, but the words that came out were in his native Elvish. Something he had picked up from his father. It was the one thing that seemed to differentiate Gavin and Ryniel amongst the large number of human mages was their lineage. Ryniel was a true elf, and her powers were the likes that she could do things not even Mazura could attempt. He was secretly glad to have her at his side, but he knew they would need more to stop them from rescuing the Dragon Rider's leader. Taking the initiative, Gavin began making his way upstairs towards the third floor. While the riders wouldn't know where to look, he figured he could search for survivors or hiding magi to add to defend the leader's holding cell. He just hoped they weren't already too late...

"Just between you and me, What's the worst that can happen?"

▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀ ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀ ▄▀▄▀

Damian had looked forward to his return home as a full dragon rider for most of his life. Certainly ever since he left to find his dragon. His arrival however was much more empty than he had anticipated. He was still grumbling over his foolish entrance. "I warned you not to..." Ta Suil whispered in his head. It was not helping Damian feel better. After those who had remained informed him of what had happened, he and Ta Suil immediately flew towards Olin. Damian was steeled towards the approaching battle, and he could feel Ta Suil reflecting his emotions. The link between him and Ta Suil was strong despite the newness of it, and he was fully using dragon senses when the city came into sight.

Unlike Damian, Ta Suil was not really what one would call graceful. He was a large dragon, and when he crashed into the first tower of the castle gates, the destruction was immense. Damian had picked their target
carefully, he had seen Koit and Althea running towards the castle, and deemed that to be an important
objective. "Here's an entrance for you!" Ta Suil's scream in Damian's head echoed The roar
leaping from both throats. The roar was a single roar from two voices as Damian lept from Ta Suil's back
to face the guards on the ground. Ta Suil took wing, carrying chunks of the tower easily 30 paces into
the air, before dropping them onto the second tower of the gatehouse. Taking the gate was one thing of
course, Holding it open was going to be the real challenge.
User Image
Damian's twin blades bit fiercly down into another soldier. Ta Suil had landed after collapsing the second tower and the two now faced into the castle courtyard through the ruined gate. However this was a disadvantageous position for them to be in. The soldiers were nothing, and even outnumbered 30 to 1, Damian could have handled them when using his dragon's strength and speed. He was using his speed now to dart in and out of combats, and keeping the guards facing him one at a time. Ta Suil was standing over him protectively, using his breath and tail and wings to counter the spells hurled by mages. Lightning was dodged, fireballs swatted away, winds were counter-buffeted, and eventually a mage would die to a burst of flames they were not
anticipating. But still, it was not going to be a winning fight unless help came. Of course, it wasn't supposed to be, it was just to hold the door open for Althea and the others.

The rain was cold as it splattered Alin and his bondmate, today was going to be gruesome. IT was a feeling in the pit of their stomachs, everything was moved as if time had slowed as the dragons attacked. Some men get shakes or tremors through through body as the anticipation of battle was before them. Alin was not one of those men, it was actually more strange, his mind was focused on two things, one keeping everyone alive and two saving the their leader. Roars of magic spells being cast, pulled him from his thoughts, standing in his saddle, Alin's blade lanced out at the towers as they flew passed them on the way to main castle. parts of bodies flew as the sword tore them. All around him was chaos and he was at peace, fireballs flew in arcs towards the dragons and riders, many were effortlessly dodged but the sheer number made it hard to maneuver through. they hissed violently as they tore through the wall of rain that separated them from their intended targets.

The rain hit Alin from all directions making it hard to focus on the fireballs, Vellath's massive claws destroyed the ground as he skidded to stop from the violent landing, Alin sprung off his dragon's back in a blinding flurry of attacks. I'll go deal with the other vermin, Vellath roared taking flight as Althea called Alin inside with Koit. The scene around Alin was a mess, several knights had tried to end The rider only to fail. His sword shattered a shield of a knight, the sheer weight of his blade was lethal and combined with his strength just devastating. The blade had torn the knight in two asymmetrical lumps. a face devoid of emotion just stared back at the mage that had yet to meet their end by his hand.

A fireball came from out of his blind side, instincts kicked in, Alin spun his blade hit the fireball midflight and spent it crashing into the stone of the castle. He was pinned between mages, action and reaction were all Alin thought about. Grunting, his sword left his hand, it's flight was short but lethal. It impaled the mage that snuck passed him, Alin turn to face the remaining mage. He sprinted his feet somehow finding traction on the wet stone, another fireball as well as a nasty stream of curses erupted from the mage. Alin had ducked the spell and slid into the mage, his hands around the man's throat, a swift vicious snap and the man was dead. The man's neck broken, Alin paused to retrieve his sword, "I'm sorry" was all Alin whispered as he follow Althea as well as Koit into the castle

An endless world opens up before my eyes
It doesn't matter if this just a dream
Even if I keep getting lost, deep inside my heart
Forever and ever, it will keep on resonating

There is no answer, and I’m trying to find one
It’s not pretty, but I can’t give up
I’m sure I resemble this world, and I’ll keep on believing

With your new tears, you can now see the future
But you don’t have to be afraid of it
The pain in your heart and the view you've been looking for
Surely, surely, they will come together someday

Getting In
was almost too easy. The guards were so distracted with the courtyard that Althea and the others were able to waltz right into the front doors. She was happy to see, Koit and Alin followed as requested and even surprised but glad to see Damian caught up and even held the door open for her. Though they now had a tag along that Althea couldn't wait to rip apart. Now was not the time to fight this confused mage. "Don't get in my way." This was Althea's way of saying she accepts the mages help. "Make haste, stay quiet, Kill silently those we cannot get past. We get in and we get out." She spoke quietly to the four and motioned for them to follow her around a corner.

Althea really had no idea where she was going and the whole aura of the place was tense. You could tell there was something or someone powerful in the building, but was it Mazura like her father had said? Either way, Althea needed to find the dungeon. When you think dungeon you think downstairs. Meaning once she found a set of stairs they were home free. If you call beating up dungeon guards and releasing your father home free of course. "Lets start by going left." She started walking in the direction when Akane spoke up and said that she could feel Roths presence to the right. Narrowing her eyes at the girl and Glancing at Koit she someone got the message that she should trust Akane just this once. They really did not have the time to argue anyways. With no word to the girl she went to the right. Althea slowly peeked around the corner to see how any guards were Two were in the hallway, there were 5 doors. She looked at the four behind her and held up two fingers to indicate that there were two of them down the hall. Althea pulled out a knife from her pocket, she held up a wait gesture with her hand then slowly and quietly snuk up behind the first guard and put a hand over his mouth to stop any sound from coming out of it, then threw the knife at the other guard who was about to yell and got him straight in the throat. Althea then proceeded to choke the guy she had in her arms until he passed out. "Finish off the second guard, check the doors for a staircase!" She ordered then went for the door at the end of the hall.

Since there were five doors, everyone got to open a door. Behind Alin's door was a bunch of boxes and dry food. Behind Koits door was 5 guards plotting and talking over a table. Behind Althea's door was a bunch of cleaning supplies. Behind Damian's door was a woman in the midst of changing into some mage armour. Behind Akanes door were the stairs to the basement. Grumbling and closing the door, Althea quickly made her way to Akane and pushed passed her to head downstairs first, knowing everyone would follow behind her. Althea stopped at the bottom of the stairs and took a deep breath. They were almost there. She very slowly peeked her head out to see what they had to deal with. To the right of the stairs was a empty hall and a door that looked like it lead to a freezer. To the left was a long hall of cells, and five guards. Wait.. five guards?! One of them turned and looked at Althea. "s**t!" She cursed under her breath and spun back onto the stairs. "They saw me, there are four of them, get ready." She spoke quickly as she pulled out her sword and jumped on the first guy the came around to look up the stairs. She knocked her and the guard to the ground, sitting on his head and slamming her sword down into his chest. She looked up, her eyes wide as a sword came down at her face. Thankfully in the knick of time, Alin's sword blocked the blow and the two were at it. Akane, Damian and Koit were also on the other three.

With the guards down, Althea quickly checked the cells, not finding her father. "Where..." She was starting to panic. She licked her lips and looked around, finding another door and trying to pull it open. "Koit, can you break it down?" Thankfully Koit was strong and was able to break the door down with ease. Althea looked in and gasped, almost dropping her sword. "Father!" She called out, her legs feeling weak at the sight of him. She ran to the end of the table to where his head was laying, glancing down at all the straps that kept him bound to the table. "What have they done to you?" She whispered, feeling her eye well up. She held his face and pushed back her wave of emotions. I have to hurry. "I'm getting you out of here." She told him, grabbing her sword again and cutting the straps off. She gulped back some tears and helped her father slowly sit up on the table "Easy..." With her hand carefully on his back, she helped hold him in a sitting position until she was sure he could sit himself.

Koit was genuinely surprised to see Akane, but right now he couldn't afford to stay shocked for long. He put his faith in her to lead them to Roth, even shooting Althea a look to not make a fuss about it. Thankfully she reluctantly agreed and they were off into the castle. Outside, the sounds of an intense battle still raged on and Koit kept his link with Nelo strong in case he needed his assistance. Yet something immediately stood out, there was an incredibly oppressive feeling within the castle. It was not close, but Koit could guess who could emit such a presence. Mazura. They needed to hurry. Though the element of surprise was on their side, the mages could regroup and they didn't want to stay past their welcome. The goal was within reach now, they had to see it through. With so much commotion outside, their gambit for the distraction worked as they traversed the halls and eventually came upon 5 doors. Koit opened his door only to see five guards chatting over a table. They turned toward the intruder confused at first, but Koit took the initiative and closed the door just as he had opened it. Even took an extra measure of propping a barrel in front of the door as well. Akane then announced she had found the stairwell leading down.

With a nod, Koit descended the staircase with the other four and they came upon another group of less incompetent guards. Everyone was launched into the battle, but with the objective so close Koit was in no mood to daddle. The warrior darted low to the ground surprising the guard facing him with his speed and looped around his opponent loosening his whip. Koit kicked the man in the back of his knee making his forcible kneel before her whip looped around the man's neck. His armor struggled but under a dragon rider's strength, gave way and pierced into the guards neck. He clawed at the damage hopelessly before collapsing onto his side subcoming to his wounds.

When it seemed the others were done, Althea asked Koit to break down the door to Roth's cell and he did so without a second thought. The sight was horrific to say the least. The mages had tortured him and even took his left arm like he was some kind of animal. They deserved far worst than a dragon's flame. 'Nelo! We have Roth, I doubt we can go back the way we came! Can you reach us?' 'Yes, but I need time to burn through. We must hurry, I feel that oppressive man on the move' Nelo relayed back causing Koit to grit his teeth. With that, the dragon looped around the castle until he pinpointed on Koit's location. He landed on the other side of the stone wall of the torture room and took in a deep breath before breathing a steady stream of his sticking flame. The heat of which was great enough to start eating into the wall causing it to melt away.

The Red Truth

Roth coughed in a daze as he was awoken by a voice he thought he wouldn't hear again. "Al...thea?" he muttered as his good eye open and focused on the face of his daughter. For a moment he simply looked at her forgetting their predicament. Then it all rush back far too soon. "W-what are you doing here...?" he coughed again as his heart began to race. They were still in Olin, and then he noticed Koit, Damian, and Alin as well as a young woman he had never seen before. The sounds of a battle echoed even here and Roth's eye widened in realization. "Althea...what have you done..? I told you not to come for me! It's far too dangerous!" he shouted. Had she caused a battle to rescue him? No...this wasn't good. Mazura was still here, if he got his hands on Althea then...dammit all!

Straining to stand with his remaining arm Roth got his thoughts together. "Koit, what is happening?" He demanded in a stern tone. Koit nodded his head acknowledging the command. "A woman from Vale assisted us in rescuing you after Khali reached Forlik and...passed. We attacked Olin as a distraction to make getting to you easier." With that Roth took the burden of these actions upon his shoulder and took a deep breath. They attacked Olin itself? No doubt there was casualties, and the leader from Vale is also caught in this? No matter, right now they needed to withdraw. The moment they reached Roth no doubt Mazura would make his power known. Retreating was all they could do now. Just then the heat from Nelo's flame burning through began to emit into the torture chamber's wall at the end of the hall. Roth motioned to a chest within the room, and within lay Roth's sword and scabbard. Koit handed to the man who strapped it to his side once more, even with one arm. He took another breath to steady himself and limped a bit into the hall still affected from his injuries. Nelo should break through any moment now. Koit took his place at the leader's side and kept his gaze firm on the stairwell in case anyone else were coming for them.

The sounds of mages screaming rang through the castle corridors caused Fenrir's outrage to rise. While Olin's mages outnumbered the invaders, most of them seemed to still be wet behind the ears. The majority of the mages that had actual combat experience didn't dwell in the city, because of how unlikely an attack like this seemed to be. They weren't warriors just citizens of Olin that were unfortunate enough to be born touched by magic. As he approached the castles main portcullis the many bodies of dead guards, and mages seemed to pile up, which only added fuel to the outrage burning in his gut. He looked around the area for clues as to what the people in the castle were looking for, his search aided greatly when he found the entrance to the dungeons guarded by two dragon riders that stood on either side.

The rage in him began to boil as he gave up on sneaking to charge the pair ,his adrenaline adding to his speed. He was on them before they had a chance to draw, his palms connecting with their noses as he slammed their heads into the hard stone behind them. Dead or not the impact was enough to make the men go limp and bloody their faces. "A Quick death is better then you assholes deserve." He said under his breath spitting on the men's lifeless bodies before drawing his swords and descending the steps into the dungeons slowly.

xxx Away from the kingdom walls a figure was approaching. Walking casually, the figure grew closer his black clothing shining as he grew closer to his destination. Waving long hair framing his smiling face, standing completely in contrast compared to environment he was walking into. Humming loudly as he got closer, his arm resting loosely on the sword on his waist, an aura of authority surrounding him. Seth sniffed the air slightly, frowning at the smell of the kingdom compared to that of the woodlands he was leaving. Olin has always had a strong smell for him, he truly never looked forward to his returns here compared to what he could be doing elsewhere around the world. As he got closer he stopped and collected himself, taking in his surroundings completely. Everything became clear to him as he concentrated, the people, the animals, all of Olin became visible to him..as visible as his mind would allow it. Deep breaths were taken as he approached the gates. It was time for him to make his move.
