[[Yay its fixed! Loving Midna by the way smile Nice job Elesariin]]

A monkey?

No, wait, that wasn't right. A Monkey?!

Great just great. Not of course that Link had anything against the little guys, quite the contrary in fact, he was quite fond of them. Despite the nusiance they caused in Ordon when they were feeling mischivous, the monkeys were, on the whole, friendly, playful and incredibly helpful. Link's last adventure had proven this if nothing else.

That was just the thing though. His last adventure.

Was this how it always began? Was this how it was going to begin again? Maybe. Though he didn't suppose it would continue in quite the same way. No, his eyes darkened for a second as he remembered. No, there was no way it could continue as it had done previously. This was going to be an entirely new experience. Whatever was coming - for something certainly was coming, and it filled Link with a sense of foreboding that made him seriously hope his senses were wrong for once - was unlikely to be anything like what he had encountered before, he could only hope that it wouldn't spell the same sort of disasters for Hyrule.

Shaking off the dark thoughts and haunted past Link allowed himself a smile at his ward's enthusiasm for the whole thing and a small sigh at the prospect of having to try and keep him safe outside the confines of their village home. Unless Faron had uprooted and moved home then Link was pretty sure he could remember the way there, but why not humour their enthusiastic guide anyway. He nodded and stepped forwards, "Lead the way then."

'Cause I'm just a girl I'd rather not be
'Cause they won't let me drive
Late at night I'm just a girl,
Guess I'm some kind of freak
'Cause they all sit and stare
With their eyes.

A long sigh escaped Anna as she crossed her arms, her expression turning into a mixture of worry and boredom. It was odd for sure. "Yes, lets. Compared to the other events that occurred today, following a monkey seems totally normal!" Another sigh. "I just really...Don't like monkeys." Her last encounter with one of the creatures had been far less than pleasant. One threw a stick at her, she got mad and tried to attack it, but...The monkey had friends. Lots of them. Poor Anna lost a lot of hair in that incident, among other things. So -- She really didn't like monkeys.
Slowly she inched forward, ready to follow, even if it meant the loss of more hair.

Reed
Tell your friends not to think aloud,
Until they swallow,
Whisper things into my brain,
Your voice sounds so hollow,

At the sound of Link's voice, Reed looked back and then looked down at the monkey. It was staring hard at Anna, Reed stared hard at Anna too, but didn't see it. Maybe the monkey hadn't seen another female ... other than Beth and the monkey herself. Well, that didn't add up. Reed looked back and forth at the monkey and at Anna, before the voice echoed in his mind.

Come on. Hurry.

"Come on, hurry!" He echoed, pushing the monkey a little. The monkey gave out a little 'ook' and turned around, but then looked back at Anna, but then ran off. Reed ran quickly after it.

It had been a while since Reed had ran through the forest like this. He thought he was going to fall off the edge of a gorge or something. But he didn't, or not so far. His heart was pounding in his ears when the monkey jumping in a tree, with a little frightened 'EEP!' and he froze at the bottom of the tree. His head whipped around, his eyes narrowing. Where exactly was he? And what in the world had scared that monkey. From the stories, monkey's wouldn't jump in trees for simple skultulas or bokoblins.

Mikara sighed when everybody began following the monkey. She heard the voice as well, but...a monkey? what was that all about. She had followed Reed none the less, focusing on the monkey so that her cheeks wouldnt turn rosy. she came to a skidding halt as the monkey leaped back into the trees. "Reed, be on your guard..." she said cautiously. She looked up at the sky, the thin grey line had stretched out once again. "The cloud of night has grown..." She sighed shakily. there had to be a way to save this place...

Reed jumped at Mikara's voice. He looked to the sky, seeing the dark cloud approaching. "We've got to hurry." He said reassuringly, before looking around, "This is-" He was interrupted when a Stalfos larger than Reed and Mikara jumped out at them, him falling backwards. His face turned white. "Stalfos!" He yelled at the top of his lungs. He knew of these ones. They had tried to attack him before, before he had met Link or anyone, and was forced to run out onto Hyrule field or die. Now Reed was scared for his life. It was HUGE and it looked pretty threatening with it's sword.

Mikara Looked to her friend who had fallen, then at the menacing Stalfos that was about to lunge at him. "REED!" she cried in warning. She knew that he might not be quick enough, so she leaped at it, pushing it away from Reed. The Stalfos was now very angry, and now focused on Mikara. "Reed! run! I'll hold it off as long as I can!" the stalfos rushed at her, and she barley dodged the blade it wielded.

Link gave a chuckle as he set off after Reed and the monkey, his srtong legs carrying him after the pair at an easy jog. "Monkeys aren't that bad once you get used to them," He said pleasantly to the young woman who was following rather hesitantly after them all. "You just have to learn when to take them seriously and when to ignore them." He paused and his smile widened at some personal joke before he continued, "As for normality versus strange, I'm afraid that if you think this or anything else you've seen so far today is strange, then you don't have a clue just how strange things can be."

Link had certainly had his fair share of strange, that was for sure. From Queens from other worlds to princesses in this one, evil villians returning from the past to mysterious transformation into animals, he had definitely had enough strange experiences to last a life time. Admittedly after the banishing of the twilight his life had returned almost to normality - apart from Reed of course - as he protected the village and helped those living there as he had always done. This revert to his previous, more regular life had not stopped the strange feelings though, and now it seemes as if everything was coming to a head.

He was lost in these thoughts as they moved swiftly through the forest, but his deep reverie was quickly broken. He had not been aware of Reed stopping ahead of him as the monkey dissapeared, but as the boy cried out Link's attention snapped forwards and his following actions flowed smoothly into one as he put on an extra spurt of speed, racing towards the approaching Stalfos at top speed now, his left hand drawing the sword from behind his back in a practised movement.

In a final lunge forwards, the blade whistled through the air and met the stalfos' as it swept past Mikara, in a clash of metal that rang through the trees.

Sephiran....

......The Killer

Well, you're an interesting sight....

Sephiran had listened as the others talked around him, taking only snippets where he needed it as on a whole the situation didn't really apply for now. Giving a nod as he was thanked both by Link and the child Reed, he followed behind them as they seemed to take off after a monkey of all things. He would normally not have followed after such people; preferring to take the lead more often than naught; as these people knew the forest better than he did he followed behind them for now. Listening to the other children laugh and play despite the strange circumstances brought a smile to Sephiran's face, glad that despite the ugliness that he saw on a daily basis in his line of work that innocence still remained in certain places. However his reviere was broken as the child screams when the Stalfos drapped down upon them. Not wanting to rush in incase of more appearing he withdrew his cutlass, standing in front of Anna as he did not see any weapon upon her person.

......I wonder just how much you bleed

Anna didn't bother to argue with Link on the monkey issue. Nor did she bother him on his comments with things getting strange. In fact, she gained a fort of comfort out of that knowledge. Why? Well, with questions comes answers. Knowing that a few of the questions running through her mind were bound to be answered, she was okay with strange. Not to mention, strange things usually ended up being fun.
Suddenly the children were shouting. Her head snapped around, able to catch Link shooting ahead. She quickly tried to follow, able to catch a glimpse of the monster before someone was in front of her. Her eyes flashed to Sephiran, a hint of anger sparking. "Now now...I'm quite able to take care of myself." She told him, able to keep her quick temper down. Quickly the lifted her dress slightly, revealing a dagger strapped around her thigh. "I wasn't really expecting to fight anything today." She muttered, drawing the weapon out. "I would have brought something bigger!" Suddenly an excited smirk crossed her lips. "But I can do just fine with this!"

Reed
I just wanna to run to you,
And break off the chains and throw them away,
I just wanna be so much,

Reed's eyes widened as Mikara made the brave move and pushed the huge thing, though in his eyes, it barely moved. Link broke through the bush and the clang made Reed flinch. He'd have to get use to that noise if he was going to fight. But then Sephiran and Anna came in, and Reed quickly jumped up and wrapped his arms around Mikara and brought her backwards, away from the Stalfos that was fighting with Link now. He made sure that they were far enough away before letting her go. Before anything else could happen, his eyes caught the monkey beckoning the two children to it. He hesitated before taking Mikara's hand as he ran off after it, stopping beside it and then looking at her. "Okay, we are probably going to run now. Fast. I'm sure we'll be fine, but if not ...." He looked around before picking up a pretty thick branch, "I think I'll be good for my first lesson in fighting ... for real." He took a deep breath, "Okay? Ready to go?"

When Reed wrapped his arms around her, Her face turned as red as a rose. She followed afterhim when the monkey beckoned them over, forgetting that the others were not following behind them as well. When they came to a stop, she knelt down and found a deku stick that was about as large as her, ad a little thiner than Reed's branch. she could wield it as if it were a staff. "Ready." she said with a confident nod.

"Some call our realm a world of shadows, but that makes it sound unpleasant. The twilight there holds a serene beauty..."

Midna hesitated for a split second as the two children ran off, torn. From the way that Link had jumped in to protect them, as well as how the boy was dressed, she guessed that he was very invested in their safety. As such, she was tempted to look after them herself, since Link was at that moment quite involved in a fight. Goddess, she hated those skeleton... things... Which brought up the conflicting point; she didn't want to leave Link. Sure, he had the backup of at least three other people, but...

Shooting one last look at the two other combatants-- the young woman who looked like Princess Zelda and a fierce-looking man-- she quickly slipped into the retreating boy's shadow just before he disappeared into the woods. What was it with Link and these cowardly little boys, anyway? Although she had to admit that Colin, at any rate, had gained quite a backbone during the course of their adventure the year before. Maybe this child showed similar potential.

Hearing the boy's words, however, she decided that this was unlikely. What. An. Idiot. Not even waiting for backup. Midna was very, very aware of what generally happened when you followed one of these monkeys. Bad things happened. Things like forest temples, insane monkey guardians, and giant spiders. And she'd been with Link while dealing with those things, Link who definately knew what he was doing as far as combat went. These children clearly had no such advantage.

Well... she'd just do her best to keep them safe until Link could catch up. That was really all she could do, assuming that she still wanted to keep her cover. Dammit.
