The Big Bang Theory 2.0 (starting/open/accepting)

Story to follow: Idea inspired by this show, with some of my own ideas thrown in

Picture if you will: A second Generation of people just like those in the show: The Big Bang Theory. A group of super smart people, and a few, not always the smartest in intellect, somehow create a close-knit bond with each other.

You have the super genius who believes they are smarter than everyone, yet is socially awkward. There's their trusty room-mate, a person who is also quite smart, but fits just a little bit better into social norms, despite their love for comic books and rpgs. Then the total flirt who made earned their masters degree (while everyone else in the genius category has a PHD), paired with the foreign one who is, let's call them, romantically challenged, for the reason that they have a hard time talking to pretty people of the opposite sex.

A new neighbor moves in across from the super genius and their room-mate, and they are not exactly a genius when it comes to science. But, they do have their street smarts, and somehow manage to become friends with all these people, taking with them a fellow co-worker and a new person everyone identifies as the perfect match for the beautiful mind of the genius.

How will all of our friends fare as they settle in to their new environment in a middle sized city, where some of our science people are bat crap crazy, and our normal folks are just a little on the ditzy side? Join us for a comedy filled with comic book references, science talk, and a little bit of romance along the way!

Not only do we have the basic plot of the Big Bang, but you can choose the occupation of your character and their degree in which they persued. Their place of residency (apartment, condo, house, swanky mansion) etc. Keep it realistic though, okay?

RULES:

1. Yes, the characters are smart (Well, some of them) But no one is perfect. No God modding, and no "I'm the best, you suck" Kind of language.
2. No Cybering. Romance is highly encouraged, but NO cybering. I mean it. Follow Gaia's TOS
3. Keep the plot realistic. It's kind of a science/romantic comedy thing. Shenanigans of the goofy variety are welcome. Shenanigans of the nonrealistic variety are not.
4. PM Me your profile with the title "IT ALL STARTED..."
5. Put a whee face so I know you've read all my rules.
6. I can add/change rules whenever I want
7. Maximum of two characters per person.
8. Have fun and post often! If you are inactive for more than five days without notice or reason I will kick you from the rp.

Greetings! I am Lothaire Kiran Lowelle, a 22 year old Biology teacher. I live in a good sized house. I am the Foreigner of our little group. I enjoy Music, Drawing, Writing, comics, sweets, and cartoons. But I don't like Sour things, loud noise, people who mock her because she's british, and lightning . Hobbies areStudying animals, playing instruments, reading books, hanging out at coffee shops, or going to orchestra concerts after a long day of teaching college students.
But, before I came to this city, I was: a pretty remarkable child by her parents' standards. Lothaire had a love of books and of animals when she was young. She graduated high school at the age of fifteen, going on to college in the US and becoming a biology teacher in the same college in which she earned her doctoral in Biology. The young girl now spends her free time caring for the animals she keeps in her home, as well as hanging out with her group of friends.

Greetings! I am Melody Laurn, a 25 year old bartender. I live in an apartment. I am the new neighbor of our little group. I enjoy movies, television, boys, spa days, and reading.. But I don't like school, jerks, bullies, long car rides, and sexism. Hobbies are dancing, watching movies, and spending time at the bookstore and starbucks.
But, before I came to this city, I was: A pretty normal child. I was average in pretty much everything my whole life. I graduated high school and then went to college. It wasn't for me though, so I dropped out. I worked at a book store for a long time before becoming a bartender when I was old enough. Recently I've had to move to get away from my ex-boyfriend.

Greetings! I am Elliot Westwick, a 22 year old doctor. I live in cramped apartment. I am the super genius of our little group. I enjoy ornithology, parapsychology, antiques, classical music, antiques, TV dramas, baseball (in small doses.) . But I don't like bugs, germs, rap with meaningless lyrics, root beer, and the Internet. Hobbies are hanging out at quiet cafes, visiting museums, playing the violin, bird watching, and sightseeing.
But, before I came to this city, I was: a relatively intelligent child who lived with his divorced father and his girlfriend. Henry didn't socialize with others much because he was too absorbed in his own studies and work. He was eager to move somewhere far away from his boring home and finally succeeded after his genius was recognized. He earned a PhD around the age of 16 and moved to his current residence, leaving his dull life behind.

I enjoy reading, writing, some nerdy things, tv, old movies, really small and really big animals. But I don't like the heat, conceited people, spicy food, being made fun of. Hobbies are making new drinks, picking up new hobbies every month or so, hanging out at bookstores.
But, before I came to this city, I was: A student. I studied general education not really knowing what direction to take her life. She moved to the big city to try to figure out what she wants to do with her life. Adele was never a genius or savant she was just a normal student. But she has many interests spanning from comic books to mixing drinks and she tends to remember the things she likes. She likes to think of herself as a Jack of all trades but master at none.

Greetings! I am Lukas Roberts, a 24 year old looking for a job. I live in my friends parents' guest house, while I look for a permanent place. I am the flirt of our little group. I enjoy sweets, coffee, parties but nothing excessive, money, movies, traveling, and relaxing. But I don't like most cooked veggies, boredom, jerks, and stuck up people Hobbies are looking up recipes and trying them out, hosting parties, meeting new people, lounging about, flirting every once in a while with girls.
But, before I came to this city, I was: Born into a well to do family he was brought up to take over the family business, even after school was over he had his private tutor lessons to take care of. These lessons ranged from social etiquette to things like language classes. Eventually, he grew very bored of it all, eventually doing the bare minimum and getting by in his classes. His parents supported it until he graduated and hadn't yet found a job, nor wanted to continue being his father's next in line. Once he was cut off, he lived off his richer friends, couch surfing and being a bit of a sponge.

It was a brilliant morning for Lothaire as she woke to the sounds of chirping birds from the room across hers. The young biology teacher kept what seems like a myriad of pets in her home. After all, for now it was just her and the pets. She rolled out of bed and threw on an Iron Man themed tee shirt, pulling on some skinny denim jeans and a dark zip up hoodie that she left unzipped for now. Lothaire made her way about feeding the animals that she fed in the morning. Along with conversing with the pets that scampered around after her, too. She had a small pack of dogs in various sizes and breeds, a clouder of cats, and a few other, more exotic four legged animals following her as she went to their separate feeding stations. Then after that, it would be off to Solus University to teach young (or in her case more often that not, same age or older) minds in the area of biology. Hopefully she'd run into her good friends while she was there. Some of her buddies worked there, and those who didn't, she planned on seeing them later on that day.

A bit of arguing came about from a separate room, however Lukas was passed out on the couch, not knowing, or even caring about it "He needs to go! I can't just take in all your friends whenever you want Alex!" a man's voice started again "It's not a group of friends, it's just the one, and he needs a place to stay!" another, younger voice added back. This went back and forth for a while until the final threat was placed "Do you want to be where he is? Because I highly doubt you both have a friend that will take you two in." the man finished, and that was all that was needed to be said. "Lukas, yo, get up." the young voice called out as he nudged the body awake "Hmm..? Isn't it... what time is it?" Lukas slowly started up, Alex, the young man from before was picking some stuff up into a bag "Sorry about this, but kind of have to go..." he said as he kept packing things up "What..?" Lukas said, with the last sentence waking him up, he rubbed his eyes "I thought you said I could stick around for as long as I needed...?" he asked as he sat right up. "Yeah, well, turns out I can't really have house guests..." he said as he handed the bag to Lukas. What was going on? Just last night he was having the time of his life, and he thought that he had everything figured out, but now, waking up, it was upside down. Now he sat at the university's cafeteria, with a cup of coffee and not much else but his bag. Having failed a temporary housing in a former 'girlfriend's' dorm, he was faced with reality, that he had no where to stay that night.

Elliot sat in the cafeteria, off in a previously unoccupied corner, thumbing through a thick ornithology volume. His eyes were glued to the page (not literally, of course) and his spirits hung low, (again, not literally!) thanks to the fact that his efforts to find a certain elusive avian outside had failed, even though they were supposedly native to this region. Perhaps all of these noisy students had scared them off. Oh well. He closed the book and stood, off to get a pudding cup since he was rather hungry, but he stopped right in his tracks when he saw Lukas, enjoying a cup of coffee. In an effort to be polite and less socially-awkward, he walked over and stopped right in front of his table. "Hello, Lukas," he said solemnly, expression impassive, but gaze drifting surreptitiously over to his bag.

Lothaire made her way to the school cafeteria, buying herself a steaming hot cup of coffee to enjoy before she started teaching. Across the way, she spied Elliot, one of her good friends, with Lukas. The young girl trotted over and waved to the pair. "Good morning guys, what's up?" She called cheerily.

Elliot's gaze quickly shifted over to Lothaire, and he straightened up a bit. "Good morning, Lothaire," he replied politely, pausing for a moment to reflect on what she had just said. "'What's up'? Oh, I remember. It's a colloquialism used by today's youth to ask what's going on in one's life and it by no means should be taken literally. Okay, well, let's see, I just came in from a failed birdwatching attempt and was on my way to get a snack to soothe my disappointment, and now I'm talking to the two of you," he said, "my good friends," he added with an awkward grimace/smile.

Lukas blinked, looking up from his coffee he saw Elliot in front of him "Oh, hey Elliot." he said simply, his mind obviously on other matters "What brings you here?" he said, spouting out the first pleasantry he could think of. "Hmm?" he looked over, seeing Lothaire walking over to the table now as well "Hello." he said simply with a smile and a wave "Nothing much, just looking for a new place to stay, my current place is too small.." he said, actingas though there was nothing the matter "I just came back from a gym meet..." he continued on, trying to play off his bag as well.

Lothaire smiled pleasantly at Elliot. He was always a little over the top, but she enjoyed his company. She nodded at him and then turned to Lukas. "Looking for a place you say?" She chuckled "Good luck. If ever you need to crash somewhere for a couple days I don't mind. Just so long as you can put up with the animals around my house." Lothaire grinned. It was a wonder her house stayed as neat as it did with as many critters she had. A room full of ten birds of different sizes and species, three cats, four dogs, a rat, two ferrets, and a rabbit. It was a wonder they hadn't eaten her out of house and home yet! She smiled at the thought of it. "Guess it's cuz I keep them all in their individual rooms, save for the dogs n cats." She muttered to herself.

"Anyway, the offer stands if you need it Lukas. But be prepared to abide by rules." She said in a warning tone. If there was one thing the young biology teacher couldn't stand, it was people making a mess of her well organized home. She made sure that everything was clean and tidy. Heck, with as many pets as she had, Lothaire HAD to make sure everything was in order, or a cat could eat the birds and the dogs would maul the rabbit.

This time Elliot made no effort to seem hospitable or even remotely kind. He simply wasn't good at picking up these times of social cues. "Oh, I just saw you here and decided to 'drop by'," he replied to Lukas's question. This obviously wasn't the case, but the other probably wouldn't know that.
He sneered a bit at the the mention of cats. He could not STAND felines; they were pompous, good-for-nothing, bird-eating nuisances. The genius shifted a bit, still holding his rather wordy book and listening to their conversation.
The thought of inviting Lukas to stay over at HIS house hadn't even crossed his mind. After all, why would he with Lothaire's perfectly legitimate offer? Her house WAS much bigger than his miniscule apartment, after all.
