That voice sounded out again, and Syn opened his eye, looking up at the small fluff ball. Was it uncomfortable? Of course it was uncomfortable. But it was better than the floor, or a slab of metal. "I've slept on worse..." he replied apathetically. Even with his tone, his voice was velvety and thick, a deep sound that made a nearby woman shiver wonderously. He ignored her, rubbing his fingers beneath the chain around his neck. His wrists and neck already held scars from chaffing chains, but it wasn't really something you got use to. Or even if you did, it was still annoying.

The studs in his tongue flashed when he spoke, even though he barely moved his lips to do so. He looked up as an employee led a wealthy looking man up to him, cooing about his looks and excellent skill. Syn's insides twisted in disgust, and he lowered his eyes, rubbing a hand through his hair again. Everyone else seemed so happy about his skills, but he couldn't say the same. Sure it was all he had ever known, but sometimes, it was really painful...

He rubbed his tongue against the roof of his mouth again, glancing at the fur ball up on the shelf. "I'll switch you spots," he said to him, knowing it was a foolish wish. Not that he could fit well on that shelf anyway... but it would be better than this spot, this show of display. Maybe he should try the Wolf's tactic and lash out at everyone. But he couldn't fight, and trying to always led to no food.

He sighed. Was he broken then? A broken slave? "Whatever..." he muttered softly to himself, tail flicking, the bell on it chiming again.

Xander chuckled. ‘Everything in your speech sounded wonderful, except for the whole training bit.” his voice resonated around his thick muzzle. ‘You speak to me as if I have no experience in the ring.” he added ears lowering some. ‘My skills have been honed since I was just a pup, if you are as well known as you say you are, then you might have heard of Delmaria Cross.”

The wolf was quiet for a long time. ‘She was infamous for her skill and tactics, she won many prizes, and my opponents never walked out alive, at least, almost never. As a demon, I have the innate instincts to always finish my fights, and as a pureblood, I have the blood of two Taiyoukai’s.” He replied lowering his head, his two different colored hues meeting her very distinct hazel eyes.

‘I am not trying to brag about my breed or my skills, and I have never minded training. If you want blood then I can give that to you as well, but I am not a pet. Even if I wanted to go with you, I would only go with you on the condition that we were partners and I was not some disposable creature.”

Xander was not looking for another Delmaria, there could only be one of her, but she treated him as an equal, and they were known in their days for their savagery and their partnership. He had grown to love a woman who wanted to pass on her skills and her talents. She found that in Xander. He would continue to cherish that memory, but he wanted a new partnership.

Xander was trained in the underground fighting rings, the kind that were mostly illegal and anything goes. He was used to thinking on his feet, and he was especially good at killing. He was entertaining and fierce, he was named ‘Quick Silver’ back in the days with Delmaria. If she agreed he would go with her, as long as she knew he was not just some muscle bound demon with no brain. He liked to think on his own terms but could still follow orders.

Lifting his muzzle his ears came forwards. He did not want to feel like he was being talked down to, and her words irritated him a little. But he tried not to think about it. Most slavers did not realize what they were getting into when they bought a slave. Good slavers researched and observed their picks, and they had experience to back them. Lune had experience, he knew she did, but she needed to give him a little more credit.

He was not cocky either, never had been, well maybe when he was much younger, but once his adolescence passed he was a disciplined disciple and he learned fast, excelling almost immediately.

‘But I have heard of your name, I know it is a respectable one, and my cage is not electrified. I have earned the trust of these…Shoppe keepers. Other than that I enjoy a challenge, and I am not one to back out of a fight, regardless of who stands in my way.”

Luna heard the chime of a bell and lifted her ears, the sounds of a bell had always been pleasing to her, soothing in a way that one might have thought annoyed her. She opened her bright cerulean blue hues and set them on a slave that she had not noticed as much as say the ball of white sitting on a shelf. Her ears lifted from her head and she watched his tail sway back and fourth, the sweet sounds coming from the only place they could. The Half cat demon.

He was obviously a slave breed for pleasure, and the man who was looking at him was almost hard, showing he was impressed with what he saw, and if he did not shut his mouth the man would soon be sending waterfall sized balls of spittle over them both. It always made Luna chuckle when she saw men like this crave something they one, did not deserve, two thought they could afford, or three felt that they deserved.

Luna rarely paid humans any mind, they were never satisfied with what they had, they never appreciated anything and they were stupid to the point where it was inexcusable. Their stupidity would be their downfall. So after a few minutes of watching the man slobber over the half-cat he was lead away from him. The half-demon did not look to impressed and it would have been tough, being a toy for a person who only truly enjoyed you for pleasure.

He was handsome, Luna remembered thinking that, no wonder he had been made to be a pleasure slave. He probably, more times out of ten felt that he was disgusting, sure some probably enjoyed it but did all of them? Turning her eyes back to other conversation the female heard a man speaking to one of the other slavers before she saw him enter.

The two must have been familiar with each other, strange how they were both browsing at the captives on this day. Snorting the she-wolf lowered her head to the cement floor paws curled under her massive black body, her two tails curling over her hind quarters as the thick chains clanked against the ground. She let out a soft breathe, catching snippets of conversation here and there but not really paying to much mind. She had observed all she wanted and was growing bored with it.

She had a fear of cages, but what the hell were you going to do when trapped inside of one. At first her panic was almost unbearable, but after the drugs wore off and she had, had time to calm down, she was able to control her thoughts and feelings. She would be the rock, keeping her walls wrapped tightly around her, keeping influences out.

She almost winced, but she held all emotions from her face. She supposed it did sound like she was speaking down to him... but that wasn't her fault, she couldn't get any lower without laying on the floor.

"I've misunderstood. I've forgotten a collar saying 'untamed' doesn't mean 'untrained'. Either way, however," she said, setting her other hand on the bar. "Even with training from someone as well known as Cross, I would train you myself. I am also not saying her training is lower than mine, but I will not know your skills until I work with you, and the place to do that is not in the arena." She had met Cross once, but that was when she was young, she did not remember, And she had not been in the arena for two years.

But her eyes did narrow slightly when he said he would not be a pet. "I have never treated my Fighters as Pets. I treat them as workers under my care. Some had even become family." Had. Until some bastards had killed them in their rooms. "But as I'm sure is the way with you, you will not earn my complete respect until I have seen what you can do. Though you will get some, since I want to work with you, not fight you to get what I need from you." She let that fall between them. Just because she refused to treat him as an unintelligent slave, it didn't mean she would cater to his ever need. She never did that to anyone. "I plan on treating you like everyone else until you prove to me you are something better." She had been hurt, some would say she had changed, but she didn't care. She felt she had every right to be bitter, even if it didn't make the best first impression.

She tilted her head a little. "May I touch you?"

Strong fingers rubbed his shoulder, massaging his skin through the dark thick fabric of the coat swirling around him in the wind. Silver grey eyes stared at the sign, reading the intricate letters spelling 'The Emporium' across the wood. An old freind of his, whom he still trusted, had told him of this place... said it had very good merchandise. He hoped so...

He was getting tired of searching.

Pushing the door open, the tall form moved down into the busy shop, easily slipping past buyers and barterers, keeping out of the eyes of the employees. Or so he wished. He winced when a small girl came up to him, smiling brightly. "May I help you find something sir? Perhaps you would like a small friend, or maybe even something to keep yoru bed warm at night?" she said with a sly smile, waving her hand towards a catdemon sitting on a stool alongside a wall. Phillip shook his head, sandy platinum colored hair shifting on his shoulders. "No thanks. just browsing." Not entirely true, but he wasn't abotu to tell this girl what he was looking for, or why. "Go help someone else." She blinked at him words, before bowing and moving away, doing just that.

She left his mind as soon as she was out of sight. He looked around with a heavy sigh, eyes scanning the signs, until he saw wht looked like 'Danger' row. Ok, good place to start...

Luna yawned, her porcelain teeth glinting in the light of the Emporium. Her ears flicked as she moved into a more comfortable position. Her side. It was warmer in her wolf form albeit probably a little more comfortable and if she were in her youkai form she could probably stretch out all the way since she was short. So she shifted back to her demon form.

Her shape changed as she lied on her back, naked yes, but beautiful long ebony black strands of hair stretched out around the cement floor like silk. Her hair spilled over pale skin covering the important areas that she needed covered. Her wolf ears were lifted, and her two tails curled over a perfectly shaped, and well groomed body, free of hair, and muscled. But not to butch. Luna still looked feminine.

Her slender fingers slipped through her tails, her crescent moon vivid on her forehead, along with the intricate filigree markings that covered most of her body. Black, feminine, and outlined in the same color as her vibrant hues. Her collars hugged her neck, though they seemed to add a little something to her personality.

The wolf inside, was happy to retreat for a while, she had seen far to much already. The shop itself seemed busy on this day. Already there were quite a few people looking to buy. Though it seemed the silver wolf found himself a good handler. Luna began to wonder if she would be trapped here in this place for an eternity.

She flicked her tails and looked out from her prison, she reached toward the bars feeling the pulse and the thump of the electricity as it coursed through the metal. She sighed. This was no place for a creature like herself. If living behind these bars was any life she’d go crazy. The electricity crackled but she did not dare touch the bars. She was calm now, logical.

The humans deserved what they got, but why were they so cruel to the other races? Luna should have the answer to that question figured out. She was older than most. However, the answer always escaped her.

Closing her eyes she opened them to watch her fingers move through the soft fur, her body stretched elegantly against the cement, as elegantly as she could get. She looked comfortable, the air around her flawless skin was cool, and she was feeling better in this form. The emporium was not to cold, yet not to warm, a comfortable mix between the two.

The small female could not judge how long she might be trapped here, one could never know the span that some of these creatures had lingered here. But what Luna did know, was that she would never lose the fire in her eyes and in her heart, that she saw when she looked at some of them. Even if she rotted in this cage, it would be on her own terms.

"I Roll With the Foxes, And Hunt With the Hounds."

Vivan laid there a moment, unwilling to hear the furball speak with the cat demon who was lucky enough, or in the half breeds mind worthless enough, to be tied to just a simply rope. Or something like that. She didn't really care. All she wanted was to be left alone.

Her fur rose and settled at the sound of yet another someone walking the rows of her side of the shoppe. She could tell this was someone new only because the footsteps had changed. They were heavier, thicker, farther apart. Male.

Genevieve lifted her head to capture a glimpse of what male would step into this part of her domain. Her ears were forward, her eyes set in a glare as she waited for him to file by her cage, look at her sign and try to move on. A self imposed chuckle filled her head. She'd have her fun, and she might get shocked and beaten for it later, but she was going to take out her self image frustrations on someone.

”I would switch spots but I think you would break the shelf and besides I'm not trophy I'm annoying.” He said pointing to his sign. There was something that was currently annoying him the more the thought about it. He wanted to be unleashed, he wanted to be able to wander around and ask people questions. It wasn't like he was harmful, in fact he didn't like the concept of hurting people in general. ”Hey! Do you think that if I taught you how to be annoying and you taught me to be a trophy we could switch spots then? No, probably not...” Nizar seemed defeated for a moment before perking up.

”Oh, I know! Hold on a moment,” Nizar took a quick survey of who was around him and who might look like they would want to take the cat-boy out of here. His eyes soon fell on Centurion and he nodded in agreement with himself. Nizar jumped up and down on his shelf waving his little paws to get the man's attention before speaking. ”Hey! Mister with the blond hair and the bad shoulder! Would you take the catboy home? I think it would be better if you did rather than the boners and swooners that are looking at him now. I don't think he likes it much, and his stool is uncomfortable. I don't think they treat him right for being a trophy.”

It was fairly bold for a slave to make such a request, but true to his nature he didn't see anything wrong with it. The concept of slave never really clicked since it would require the understanding that he was someone else's property. He was, in a sense, unbreakable because of that. He had noticed the man had a messed up shoulder because he carried himself a little different because of it. Nizar had learned to catch those kind of little details about someone early in his life. It served him well because he could learn a great deal about a person before ever even speaking to them.

User ImageMarrie gave a half-hearted glare at the caged beast before slinging her cloak back over her shoulder, To think I always find myself being nice to them. She was cross with herself for showing compassion to what could have been an acceptable battle partner and couldnot reconcile how she acted to her earlier thoughts upon entering the store.

She heard a person approaching from behind and whirled to face them her staff coming to rest at angle against her body a spell on her lips. She froze as the new person called her name. Do I know this person? I...cannot remember... She set her expression to be aloof and hoped he had not seen the confusion in her eyes. "Do I know you? I donot recall ever meeting you before." Even as she said these demeaning things she bowed as the Istari were taught, one hand rested upon her upright staff the other on her chest and she bowed low. Straighten her posture she stared at the man, Quinn he called himself.

"Can I assist you with anything? I am here to purchase a partner for the arena. Not to converse about meaningless things." At this her tone turned accusatory and her eyes narrowed, "Unless your purpose is to make sure I do not buy a particular slave. Or to distract me into buying a lesser slave." Could he be one of the ones that were there.... Her mind whirled with possiblities and she unconciously planned five different escape routes all the while seeming angered but composed.I won't be caught off guard. Not again.

Centurion looked up as a voice sounded through the back area, pausing just before a girl with silver hair. He blinked at the... was was that thing? A fox? He blinked at it's request, looking towards where the creature pointed.

Ah. It was a Cat Demon, sprawled on the stool beautifully, and certainly looking uncomfortable as the white creature said. He smiled a little, looking back at the ball of fluff. "Sorry little guy. I'm looking for a fighter, not a trophy." His eyes flicked to the girl inside the cage in front of him before he kept moving, thinking he could go over to the creature and have a conversation. Maybe he knew more about the creatures in here than the employee's, depending on hwo long he had been sitting on that particular shelf.

The crackling of her prison was something she was getting used too, the sound was a constant buzz in her ears, and so she, after a while was able to tune the noise out, though it was always present Luna paid no mind to it. What was the point? Looking up at her slender fingers she moved them, closing her hands into a fist then re-opening them. There were some burn marks upon them, she remembered because of the fight…the fight that she lost. How long had it been since she lost a fight? Luna could not remember, she was very old, and so it had been a very long time since someone was able to best her.

Knowing that she lost made her much more humble, at least in the ways that she could still get stronger and she had a few things to work on. Vengeance, she wanted it so badly, but was it really worth it? Would her and her Handlers path ever cross? Would she get the opportunity to make him suffer as she was suffering now. Luna wanted to know what had changed between them that he felt the need to betray her as he did. That was the one thing she would ask him. They had been equals almost all their lives…except…except, that night things changed.

Bringing her arm down across her eyes she remained on her back, the soft buzzing of the electricity helped only to make her remember the memories she wished would simply vanish. That night, they spared, it was like every night, except their fight had become something a little more frenzied, rough, yet playful. Luna should have seen the look in his eyes, the hunger, but she never thought of him that way. Did she not think that people did not notice her sexually? The touches, the way he was acting, had it always been like that?

Squeezing her eyes shut she saw those moments move in slow motion. His lips coming toward hers, yet she lifted her hand and placed them between the two. She stopped him, and he was not happy. He thought at first she was just teasing him, but when he tried getting more forceful things turned darker, uglier. They fought, this time they fought for real and Luna won. She was the better assassin, but as an assassin, they both knew that one never got emotionally evolved. It always caused problems. It was a risk, and love was always weakness.

Up until then, Rogue had been playing her. They’d known each other for many years, but all he wanted from Luna was something she could not give him. He was always greedy, but he had always wanted power more. That was the point where he decided get rid of the ones stronger than you and make your way to the top at all costs. Luna was foolish, but it would not happen a second time.

Lowering her arm she gazed up at the ceiling of her cage.

How long will I be here? She asked herself.

The wolf stirred inside and she almost wanted to shift, but the beast drew away. Luna sat up crossing her knee’s pulling her tail into her lap as she slipped her fingers through the black fur. Her hair spilled over her, curling this way and that on the floor. Her eyes were half lidded as she heard conversation from the room and by chance turned her attention to the others.

Listening to them distracted her from her own thoughts.

Xander chuckled a throaty laugh, it resonated all around them as his bemused hues set upon her brilliant hazel ones. ‘Then I suppose…” his first sentence sounded a little uncertain. ‘We have an accord.” he finished, the last part of his sentence was full of conviction, that he knew this would be the best thing for them both. He truly felt that he should not let this opportunity pass him by, his instincts told him that this was a very sure thing, that he would later regret his decision should he let her slip out of his fingers, or at this moment in time, his paws.

The woman who stood before him would definitely suffice. She had a fire cracker personality. Women like that were few and far between and they rarely came around once, let alone twice. Snatch her up before she leaves, snatch her up before someone else captures her gaze. Xander made his decision quickly, but his resolve was firm. She was the one. They would be champions in the fighting circuits.

He saw something similar in this woman, something he recognized. Her sense of self called to him, but he also saw something new in her. Something he was searching for. In this lifetime, in this world of slavery and pain, one had to make the best of it. One had to find a sense of self and their own sense of freedom. Lune, even said that some of her fighters had become family…could Xander have a family? Could Xander have a freedom that had long since been denied to him?

Looking at her, he could tell she was not lying, she had determinition held fast in her eyes. She had no idea how fast his heart was racing, how fast his nerves made his stomach taunt and tense. He just could not help feeling excitement from the tips of his toes all the way to the ends of his tail.

When she asked if she could touch him he lowered his head and at first looked as if he was not going to move. The slowly he lowered his ears coming forwards on his stomach. He was close enough he could have bitten off her hand. Hesitantly he smelled her first then lowered his eyes moving just under her hand so she could touch him.

                      ‘I said,
sucking too hard on your lollipop,
oh, love's gonna get you down’

With wide, black stunner shades on her face with sun-kissed flesh and ear buds in her ears, the raven hair speckled with metallic grey bounced on her shoulders as Ophelia practically danced down the street. She bounced as she walked, twirling in a smooth circle occasionally, a bright, unnaturally sparkly, toothy smile on her face. Her dress was what this society considered “punk”, in her studded leather jacket, form fitting void black pants with sterling chains bouncing on her hips with his many, many pockets, her checkered black and white Converse shoes and her black and white corset showing itself every time she twirled, her jacket flying out as she did so to show her interesting figure. She wasn’t skinny, or thin, she wasn’t overweight or “fat”, she was in, what people called, the middle ground and she liked it that way. Her cheerful dancing looked completely out of place compared to the image she was wearing, but did she honestly cared?

                      Not in the slightest.

She heard of a shoppe, an Emporium of sorts, that held special sorts of “pets”. It sounded interesting, so she followed the directions she found on the trusty internet. Even in her slightly dizzy, obscured eyesight, she could tell this place was some sort of high end and expensive place to be. Not bad, that meant they treated their “merchandise” well? Maybe not, but that’s why she was here! Oh, this is gonna be fun. It felt like she was picking out a puppy or a kitten! Someone new to join the family, a complete stranger… huh, that was doubt starting to come into her brain, but she drop-kicked it out the way. No time for doubt, dammit! It was time for business, so she stopped her bouncy step and turned down the music of Mika as she pushed the doors open… instantly getting greeted by a posh, 1800s looking little girl.

“Hello miss, is there something in particular you’re looking for?” She said with a light smile, the smile of a business woman for someone her size.

Ophelia had the look of deep consideration on her face as her pointer finger and her thumb held her own chin. “Mmm…” She hummed loudly, then smiling with her impossibly shiny teeth. She gave the blonde little girl a pat on her hair that made it ruffle into a mess, not that Ophelia herself noticed the pissy look on the little girl’s face. “Nope! I’m sure I can find what I’m looking for!” Reaching into her pocket, in between the gaps of her fingers looked like precious gems- a pearl, emerald, diamond, and an onyx stone. “I heard y’all got some of these, you see?” She popped the pearl look-a-like into her mouth and chewed, a hard cracking sounding like the breaking of bones sounded in her closed mouth but she chewed on it as if it were candy. “A pearl of cleansing, purity. An emerald for fun!” She popped the green gem in her mouth and chewed, this crackling much softer. She looked around behind her shades in wide, curious eyes, taking in all and skipping over a lot. “An onyx for a suitable guardian…” In popped the black stone and just as she passed a certain cage, she stopped mid-way in her step and back tracked slowly.

Oh ho ho, who was this purdy little thing sitting on that smallish stool? He must be popular because many a boy and girl was in front of his cage. Casually stepping under the velvet rope that sealed off his cage, she seemed oblivious to the sudden hush that fell over the crowd as she bent at the waist to peer inside his cage. She gave him a light smile, holding the diamond over her open mouth before dropping it in, a flinch inducing crunch sounding in her closed mouth. “And a diamond for art inducing pretties~♪” It was his bright eye that caught her attention, a beacon shining through the darkness of her shades. Never mind the seductive stance he had, poor thing looked bored to tears. Pulling down her shades so they hung a little off her nose, her bi-colored eyes (left lilac purple, right metallic grey) cheerfully settled on the young cat-looking boy. “My, well aren’t you the most desired? I wonder why, I mean, sure you’re pretty and all but---”

                      “Excuse me miss.”

Ophelia peered over her shoulder as best she could, seeing the displeased look of the adult male tour guide. Eh… had she done something wrong? “Yes?”

“Are you here to purchase or are you here to observe?”

By the impatience of his tone, she guessed her butt eclipsed the view of the other observers. “A bit of both, sir!” She responded cheerfully then turning her attention back on the cat boy. “See, his pretty eye caught my attention is all!” She pushed her shades back up, standing fully erect with a nice crack of her lower back. “Must be a “trophy” or somethin’, right?” Okay, here’s the thing. Ophelia had looked at the online catalog, but didn’t really read into the detail. She only read what caught her attention, like the precious stone decorations, everything else flew right over her head. So she was naïve to her situation, she was in her oblivious bubble. But speaking of “over-head”, she looked up only to see… the CUTEST dog-fox puppy she’s ever seen~♥♥ “Ooooh!” She cooed, “Well aren’t you the most adorable ball of fluff I ever did see!”

                      “Miss, could you move, please?”

Ophelia (reluctantly) tore her eyes away from the fluffy what-its and tiled her head to the tour guide. “What I do now?” She asked innocently.

“Well, you’re kind of… in the way.”

“Is that right..?” She turned on her heel, her focus back on the pretty boy. “Appeal to me.” She said with a light smile, though her voice was far more serious than the playfulness it had before. “Go on, speak. Tell me your name, then appeal to me. What can you possibly do for me?”
