Kaori swung her bags a little, careful not to spill the contents. She just couldn't hide her state of happiness. She couldn't remember having such a master that acted like they were on the same level. That she wasn't just there to serve, but to keep him company, and not the kind that always involves a bed.

I wouldn't mind if he asked... she thought, blushing a little. But she kind of thought that their relationship would go further than just being shallow bedfellows.

"Oh, don't worry about me! I can sleep through a lot of things, even if there was noise." she said brightly, knowing how some masters were shocked when they found her still sleeping with her tails curled about her even if there was a loud party downstairs.

User ImageJason chuckled, “I wish I could sleep like that sometimes. My sleeping habits are quite poor.” He gave himself very little time to sleep normally, and on top of that he was often a light, restless sleeper. Simply noises from the outside world could wake and keep him up. Though perhaps it was the nightmares that really kept him from sleeping. He wouldn't tell Kaori that, though. Nightmares were childish.

He was thankful that he didn't live very far from where they were. In fact, he really enjoyed living on the edge of downtown. It was close enough that he could walk to the stores and the market and still have a park nearby. Aside from the crazy people that came out at night, it really wasnt that bad.

It was a ten minute walk or so.

“This is my tavern. I live on the second floor; the second floor is for customers to rent rooms and the first floor is business.” Leading her around the back, he unlocked the back entrance and held the door open for her. There was a parking lot in the front of the tavern, but part of the back was sectioned off, hidden by a tall wooden fence. That was what he liked to call his vacation spot. He'd show Kaori later, once she got settled. Once inside, he kept very quiet, scouting ahead to make sure no one would see them. It probably looked weird, but he really didn't want to have to explain himself to anyone right now.

Quickly, he snuck her up the stairwell to the third floor, unlocking the door that led to his apartment.

His apartment was fair sized. The floors were hardwood with a mat at the front door and an area rug in the living room. His kitchen was small with an attached dining room. In the dinning room, there was a large window looking out onto the balcony, which could be reached by a sliding door, hidden by a large drape. It was a very simplistic apartment. Evidence that he was a bachelor, though a fairly clean on, was clear as daylight.

“So....this is where I live.”

Kaori followed just as silently, which was unusual. It wasn't an awkward silence though, and she enjoyed just walking with Jason. She glanced around at the tavern and the parking lot with some interest, but Jason's apartment was what she was waiting for. If she felt weird with Jason's actions of checking ahead and sneaking around, she didn't show it. Once she got inside, she quickly slipped off her shoes and arranged them neatly before she practically leaped in.

"Oh~ Jason, I love it already! I don't understand how you can keep it so clean!" she said, looking back at him with a bright big smile. Her tails swished around as she looked around, humming to herself as she peeked into the kitchen sink and practically pranced through the rooms. She didn't seem to mind at all about the simpleness of the apartment, and didn't seem at all as if she used to live in large mansions.

She came back to Jason, her smile still on her face.

"It's great! Everything!" she burst out, resisting the urge to leap and hug him. Her enthusiasm was impossible to quell.

Jay's eyes widened subtly, his pupils shrinking when gavin pulled away from him. He had seen the pain in Gavin's eyes just as clearly as anyone else. Hell, he had seen it even better, since Gavin had been looking ta him with such hope, love, joy...

Only to have it all sink once Jay had opened his mouth. Unspeakable pain wracked down his spine, like poisened claws dragging across bone. His hand's caught the cage bars weakly, mouth opening to say something, anything. To explain why it wouln't work, to explain that he wouldn't be able to live with him so close, and yet even farther than before. To be allowed to touch him, but never to actually be with him. What kind of horror was that? Couldn't Gavin see? Couldn't Gavin understand?

'Let's go home.'

Home. The word echoed like a bad tune in his head. For what sort of home existed without Gavin? How could he leave his lover like this?

"Azizi..." he whispered, his hand reaching out slightly. Jabari's father had been Egyptian. When Jay had been young, he had often heard his mother call his father 'Azizi'. It meant 'precious' in his Fathers toungue. Jay would call Gavin by the name only at speciel times, secret times when they had a moment together, or maybe when he was tending Gavin's wounds. When he wanted to make him feel better, to let him know how special he was to Jay...

'Take him. take Jay away...'

Jay closed his lips, pulling his hands back inside the bars. He closed his eyes a quick moment, jaw clenching slightly as he picked up his breaking heart, and turned away. Slipping outside of the cage, he stood, not even noticing how good it felt to actually stand again, at his full height. His brown eyes were slightly flat, his fingers cracking as he looked at the man in the metal suit. His eyes narrowed subtly, and he had to force his jaws to stay closed, not to tell the man that if any harm came to Gavin under his care, he would come and rip his metal head off.

He turned away, eyes falling to Ahote. He didn't say goodbye. He wasn't going to leave gavin forever. he would earn his freedom from this man, and when he did, he would find and get Gavin for himself, no matter what it took.

:. The rest is coming tommorow. .:

User ImageJason stood at the door a little confused as he watched her run around. His house was very simple, with nice furniture and a few luxuries. Just an average house, though he could have afforded something better. Most girls weren't as excited as Kaori. 'Nice place' was all he heard. But then again, some girls, especially the ones he had been around, were far more materialistic than he was. Than Kaori seemed to be.

As for the clean part, he vaguely remembered that he had cleaned it earlier this morning in preparation for bringing his 'pet' home. He knew it wasn't always so clean. Still, he could keep it this clean if he tried. With Kaori living with him now, he probably would clean up after himself a little more.

Taking off his shoes, he gave a slight laugh and shrugged. “Really, it's not much but...it's home.” Since she had shown herself around the house, he didn't think that he had to give her a tour. “Now, you've got a choice.” He started, looking around the room idly. “You can either bunk here with me, either in the bedroom or on the couch, or you can have your own room on the second floor.” As she probably noted, the apartment was a two bedroom, but the extra bedroom was taken by his 'study', which had a desk, filing cabinet and a few other items. It was the office he used when he didn't feel like being bothered by customers on the main floor. While he could move everything out of there and get her her own furniture, he really didn't think he had to.

“You don't have to make the choice now. We can do that later. For now I think it would be better if both of us got cleaned up, changed and went somewhere for dinner.”

Kaori shrugged, thinking. Decisions.. she wondered where Jason wanted her to be. She herself wanted to sleep next to him, for she always felt comforted if there was another presence near her at all times. She didn't much like isolation...

"Wherever, really. You can decide for me, I really don't mind where I sleep, even if it means sleeping on the floor!" she grinned, walking over and straightening his shoes.

"Would it be alright if I took a shower? Being in that cage is hardly sanitary..." she mumbled, remembering the state her hair was in; tangled, messy, and with cage grime to boot. Her ears and tails were none too clean either, and usually Kaori took pride on making them gleam and feel like soft down to the touch. But being a pet in the Emporium didn't really give one too many options. She glanced towards the bathroom she had discovered, longing for the feel of hot water on her skin to wash away any of the aforementioned dirt.

User ImageJason headed to the bedroom quickly to drop off the bags. Holding onto them was getting tiring. Once he had dropped them, he decided to unbutton and remove his shirt. It was something of a habit for him, one he didn't think about before doing it. Now that he was shirtless, though, it occurred to him that perhaps he should have asked Kaori if she minded. He let that pass. Too late now.

He ran his fingers through his hair, the clump that normally fell over his bad eye. That was another habit of his. When he was thinking, he often played with that part of his hair, which partially revealed his scar, or stroked his chin. Jason has his quirks just like everyone else. Most of his, however, he hardly noticed. Especially when he was thinking, and Kaori had pushed the responsibility of deciding where she would sleep onto him, making him weigh the options. He didn't want to force her to sleep on the couch, and he really didn't want to give up his bed. The couch wasn't very comfortable for sleeping on. Making her sleep on the second floor made him nervous, as well, seeing as how a lot of drunk men passed through that hall during night hours. Not to mention she probably didn't want to be in a strange room alone.

That left sharing his bed, which he didn't mind so much. It was a big bed. However, he felt a little weird sharing a bed with a girl he had just met. Funny, he never used to feel weird about that. He certainly had changed.

“Well, you can share my bed if you want.” Jason answered, letting his hand drop down to his side. He'd have to get into the habit of wearing pants to bed.

He shook his head. “No, I don't mind at all. Go ahead and shower.” Jason smiled. “Leave some hot water for me, though. I need one too.” He laughed. He was just teasing about the hot water, playing on the stereotype that all women take long showers.

”Trust exists in your world and you trust you just don't know it. You trust your pack and your pack trusts you, why else would you leave them the task of guarding your home, your safe haven.” Quinn narrowed his eyes observing her stance and watching as all expression left her face. He could tell she was good at saving emotion for later, but no one was perfect. The heat of battle would prove who could keep a clearer mind, and who had the best skill.

”Dance, we've been dancing since we met. Until the dance ends we cannot work together. This fight is just another step in the dance.” Quinn didn't say anything after that, but lunged forward. Once he was in range he faked a jab with his left palm before switching to attack with his right figuring she'd block. He wasn't finished there though, as his torso twisted with his right hands attack he stepped forward with his right foot kicking at the inside of her left foot. He aimed to knock her foot out from under her throwing her off balance before aiming a left jab at her jaw while she tried to recover.

Kaori only colored a little when she saw Jason's bare chest. She noted that it was a nicely toned one, but she wasn't the type to go squealing about when she saw a bare part of a man's body. She had seen enough of those that she was used to them. It was even surprising that she reacted at all, but perhaps it was because Jason was different than all of her other owners.

"Thank you Jason." she said shyly, referring to both of his comments. She placed her own bags against the wall and scurried off to the bathroom, quickly stripping down and jumping into the shower. She hurriedly but thoroughly washed herself with soap, her hair and tails with shampoo and conditioner, making sure she wasn't taking too long. Even if Jason was just joking, she didn't want him to have a cold, or even lukewarm shower. About ten minutes later, she hopped out, steaming and her skin scrubbed pink, but clean.

"Jason... can I use one of these towels?" she called tentatively, eyeing the soft looking fluffy towels on a rack. She stepped back into the shower so she wouldn't drip all over the place, and waited for him to reply.

Blue’s peripheral vision was excellent, but she was not focusing with her eyes alone. She was using her other senses to react. Her hearing was exceptional and her focus was unbreakable. She was also an expert in hand to hand combat, she was not going to slip up so easily. He could say whatever it was he wanted, but Blue would not rise to the bait. She was too old for petty arguments such as these.

Seeing his arm raised she saw the fake, and the moved out of the way of his right. His body language was easy enough to read. She waited until she saw movement before she judged anything. It really pissed her of that he underestimated her so. She was not new to this sort of thing, and she was not that naïve. Because she moved back from his right punch she put a good space between him and she did not half to see his foot to know where he was going to put it.

Turning she moved into his her foot turning as her body followed through. Her elbow blocked his jab to her jaw and that put her inline of his throat. Her open palm coming down fast and hard. As she did so her knee came up aiming for his hip. The air around them changed when a person moved, and the direction was easily enough judged, not only that but she was very close, and depending where her body was, she could either smell him for better or worse.

Cero and Kero watched the challenge with cold eyes. They could speak, but they chose not to speak to anyone unless they really liked that person. They had gone absolutely still, though there were a few low growls and almost steps forwards. Blue was not concentrating on her companions, she was too busy trading and blocking blows with the cat she invited into her home.

They did not like it to much, but they had no say as to who she brought home.

She brought herself closer to him, but she had always enjoyed a challenge. Quinn was smart she would give him that. Though she really hated his comments. It was probably because they held some truth to them. Her sin wolves, Kero, Cero, they were part of her pack. She did have trust in them. But they respected her, Blue did not think a man like Quinn could respect her. Hence why he treated her like a pet and nothing more.

So she kept her focus waiting for his backlash.

A simple step back and she had dodged it. He wasn't surprised, it was expected of anyone who had a decent grasp of martial arts. Her combination attack of her knee aimed at his hip and his hand aimed at his throat posed a bit of a problem. His body shifted growing smaller and changing to his cat form. The target to hit suddenly smaller her hand missed his throat going over him completely. He was now in mid air, so using her raising knee as a spring board he lunged at her throat claws extended. Even without the stress of battle it was difficult for a were to control form completely, he hoped the shock of him shifting so suddenly would throw her off enough for him to land a hit. Not that a hit from a cat's claws would be much damage, but if he would shift his form so easily a position on her throat, in a real battle, could be lethal. This was part of his fighting style. He had worked tirelessly to be able to shift in battle.
User ImageBlue felt her hand slice the air, if it had been made of solid matter she would have sliced it in two. Seeing him shift so quickly made her stumble slightly. This was a good and a bad thing. Falling toward him meant that it was easier to angle her body toward the ground. The bad thing was that his claws were still coming toward her. No matter how quickly she could move, one or more of those dastardly claws would catch her.

Rolling her shoulder she slipped below him, his claws missing the majority of her body. Except one. One of his tiny housecat claws caught the bridge of her nose and as she fell, he dragged it down to her jaw line. She saw everything in slow motion, but when it was over her palms touched the hardwood floor and she rolled onto her feet.

Standing she felt a hot liquid rolling down her pale skin. Cero and Kero went to move on Quinn but they stopped when she raised her hand. She brought her slender fingers to her face, moving them along the cut, pulling away crimson stained fingers. Blue blinked past her surprise as she watched the crimson roll onto her palm.

Shifting her gaze toward Quinn, she turned her palm showing the b*****d of a cat the blood. He drew first blood. She was surprised but somehow she knew that he was stronger than he appeared. Blue felt the twins at her side. Kero had grabbed her wrist as he licked the blood off her hand and fingers while Cero was licking the blood off her cheek. His tongue slid over the wound. It was a very canine thing to do.

Like a werewolves tongue, they had an antibody in their saliva that slowed the bleeding. The cut on Luna’s cheek would heal, but the evidence of a small white scar could still remain as a reminder. Had the fight been more serious in it’s nature Blue probably would have gotten the win, but because it was the first to land a blow, blood counting, Quinn won.

Cero and Kero were overly concerned about their alphess, though she was clearly fine. She rubbed their heads affectionately and nodded to them.

‘You have that address don’t you?” she asked them.

“”Apartment room number 27, in the Boardwalk Apartment complex in the upper west end of the city. It's card activated but it shouldn't be locked. I don't keep anything of value in it and what is in it was already provided. Tell them to lock the door after they leave.”” Cero quoted Quinn word for word smiling a wide fanged grin.

‘Make sure it gets there. I want you two to stay there until we get there.” she said gently. ‘The sin wolves are lingering around here. I cannot leave you two for as long as I can all seven of them.”

Cero and Kero smiled and ran off to grab Blue’s things. They argued like brothers would and Cero, being the dominate one stood in front of Quinn glaring down at the small cat. He did not say anything but the look was enough and the message was clear. If you hurt her we will bring all of hell fire down on your a**. That is what his glare would be interpreted as. Before Blue could say anything he was gone in a cloud of smoke and sulfur.

Blue turned back to Quinn.

User ImageAhote looked at Gavin and nodded. ‘I’ll take very good care of him…” he said voice lowered as he glanced at Jay. ‘Maybe we can arrange something soon.” He said trying to make the situation a little less unbearable. ‘Something that sounds more functional than what Kai, said.” he replied.

The man scribbled his number on a piece of paper and handed it to Kai. ‘Here is my number. Give me or Jay a call anytime.” he paused looking back at Kai. ‘Maybe as time goes on and I come to trust you I can agree to more conventional ways of meetings. Until then let us get settled and we’ll talk.” he replied. Ahote was not saying no, but everything would work out in the end if they were meant to.

Ahote lead Jay out toward a dark sports car. Nothing fancy, not like his elder brother, but it was still a nice sleek design, a soft blue, a mix between sky blue and cerulean. He unlocked the car and glanced at Jay.

‘Are you sure about this…?” Ahote said gently. ‘That man was willing to take you both…” His voice dropped, getting soft as he did so. ‘There is still time…”

User ImageYiska watched Ivory slip up onto her delicate paws as she moved toward him. Ebony, lifted an ear and then opened an eye to follow her movements. The common house cats were pretty easy going. Well Ebony was, he was not territorial, but Ivory, she was definitely the alpha. She wore the pants in their relationship.

She rubbed her body along Yiska as the man caressed his woman gently. The female was happy to oblidge and purred so loud that Ebony actually rolled his eyes. He knew that the Mau would give her a run for his money. To females, especially ones with lots of attitude would definitely clash.

‘How is my pretty girl?” he asked her.

‘Meow-humph…” she replied with a seething sarcasm.

‘You don’t like having another woman here vying for my affection. But you don’t have to worry about Suiren.” he paused.

‘You’re my only girl. Suiren doesn’t even like me.” he chuckled running a hand through his blonde hair. The truth kind of hurt, but he could not, would not force her into anything.

‘Meow-humph.” she answered again.

Ebony stretched and wandered into Yiska’s room.

Simple things= most comfort, got it! Locked and loaded into Ophelia’s brain! This meant this should be easy then, since her and her father lived simple lives anyway. Da was taking care of the garden every now and then, but the garden was Ophelia’s baby. Hey! Maybe she could teach Syn how to pull weeds and nurse produce? Her smile slowly shrunk when Syn went all pheromone emotional on her. Huh… that was actually unexpected since he was so docile up to this point. Was it something she said? Even still, her smile returned now with her duel eyes twinkling. “There’s that blueness in your collar I was looking for! See? I knew you weren’t all red collar like you were making yourself out to be!” She gave the knee closest to her a light pat. “No need to be poker face with me, hun, I won’t bite unless you ask me to!” Hehe, then again, that wouldn’t be such a good idea. Syn should just stay pretty.

She blinked at him when he mentioned fish, her smile brightening. “Ah! You’re in luck! My Da’s a fisherman! He always overcompensates, so we should have more than enough for your gullet!” Da was a fisherman back at his homeland too, and old habits tend to die hard. She stuck out her tongue with a grossed out look on her face. “I don’t particularly like fish all that much, so I’ll be happy to give you my plate whenever I can.” She could eat fish… that were high in mercury. She particularly enjoyed “fishing” as well, as a hobby- in scrap yards. She looked out the window for a brief second before hearing his voice again and looking up at him.

Haha, now this question huh? Funny he didn’t ask this the first time. Ophelia smiled as far as her lips could stretch, to show her metallic sparkly teeth. “See these?” She chomped them together, making a sharp clicking sound. “These are my natural chompers, see?” She relaxed her mouth, giving him a sideways smirk. “And being what I am, I enjoy eating such things as metal and precious stones and the like. ‘Course, I’m supposein’ you wondering what I am other than human?” That’s when her eyes were in contrast to her friendly, open-hearted smile for they turned very serious. “Well, that I’ll tell you in the privacy of my home.” She looked out the window then, letting her face fall to neutral as she pulled the shades down over her eyes. “’Cause there may be some nosey folk on this bus and I don’t want to risk you…” She whispered, assuming Syn’s cat ears could pick up on her whispering. See? She was being considerate, she didn’t want him hurt before he even got a chance to meet Da!

She smiled up to him again, the good cheer still in her voice. “Now my question for you is how did you lose one of those sparkly, pretties on your face?” That was Ophelia-language for “how did you lose your eye?”

“Ahh… Lemme think…” She began counting off her fingers. “I can’t say the word, and YOU can’t say the word and I better not even SEE the word or I’ll got batshit bonkers. I hate wolves, despise the lowly things. I don’t mind ‘em around me, but have one of those culos bare their teeth at me, I’ll assume it’s a fight and that’ll set me off. Children in danger set me off. Buckets of meat displease me, but that’s not a trigger. Trying to sedate me sets me off. Threatenin’ my mamí in front of me is a beat-down. Annnd… That’s pretty much it.” What could she say? She was moody chica~♪

She did, however, smile at the second part of his inquiries. “I’m already a tank of muscle as it is, amo. Berserkers have insane amounts of adrenaline on stand-by just waiting to be triggered, and it’s a damn near unlimited supply. However, until we tucker ourselves out, we pass out on the spot.” She pouted digging one of her heels in the floor as she looked away with half-lidded eyes. “ ‘Course, giving us a hard enough konk on our heads also is a good way to instantly calm us down.” She gave him a side-glance with a tilted smirk. “But for me, you could always pull my tail… Careful though, I tend to guard my tail when I go all black blood on fools.” Or so she was told, she honestly didn’t know for herself.

She began to lead him out of the store when she thought about what he said before. “Come now! I want to go to this lovely villa you described to me! Sounds like endless amounts of lunch to me!” Her long bovine tail slyly stroked up his leg with a slow caress, but only briefly. “And I don’t mind “romantic dinners”, as you call it. Just remember these collars aren’t red, *chulo amo~♥”

The final lung, his muscles compressed in ruthless efficiency, his claws extended but something was wrong. As she fell she shifted trying to avoid his claws. He would not get the throat he wanted but that didn't mean he wouldn't get a hit. As his claw raked across her face he was glad his sudden shift threw her off enough. If the fight had of continued passed the first hit the damage she took from that hit would be pretty much insignificant. Quinn knew this and felt a little dissatisfied as a result.

As all four of his paws hit the ground he let out a hiss his fur standing on end. He almost looked demonic for a moment before his features and fur settled. He had technically won, but he didn't know how she, and more importantly, her pack would take it. He stayed their in cat form watching her and the twin-headed twins interact with each other. It seemed she would accept it for now and even though the twins had growled at him they would not do anything either, per her request.

He had not escaped the ordeal without a direct threat from Cero. Quinn understood the threat, but felt it went without saying. He knew from the first time he saw the dog that it was loyal, Blue kept good company. ”He,” Quinn chuckled breaking the silence between them, ”I was aiming for your throat, you move well.” He wasn't belittling her at all, he was complimenting her. Not many people would be able to dodge his attack at that range with little more than a scratch to show for it.
Kai stood there as still as a statue paying special heed to any body motions or facial twitches that Ahote made. It was clear to him that the man wasn’t going to back down from his decision to purchase Jay. Once he had come to the conclusion, about the time when Ahote narrowed his eyes and spoke his first line after Kai had finished his argument, Kai pulled a pen from the bag at his side and began to sign his own papers.

Speaking with you is pointless. Communication is terminated.” Kai said dully after he had flipped the first page. It didn’t matter to him if the man had heard him or not, it was his courtesy to let the man know he was no longer important. His comment had been made about the time Jay’s cage door had been opened, so Ahote was paying attention to the attendant instead of Kai. He looked up after he had finished, only catching the look shot his direction by Jay. It spoke enough words in its self to describe the feelings intended towards him. Kai didn’t care, caring was an emotion, and at such times it wasn’t necessary so Kai wouldn’t show Jay he acknowledged it.

It was then that a scrap of paper was thrust his direction. He grabbed it without a word knowing full well that anything said at this point wouldn’t affect the situation in any way. He scanned the number adding the digits in the file created for Ahote under the section titled ‘other’. He slipped the paper into his bag along with the pen before handing the clipboard to the associate not watching her strange expression at the speed he signed the papers, or the print he used aside from his signature. The woman said something to Kai that he didn’t even seem to recognize before giving a small sigh and hurrying off to process the paper work. She would be back in a couple of minutes with a shock collar (just in case) and the key to release Gavin.

Do you want to go with them?” Kai asked Gavin in his robotic tones. He stood at his full height, not adjusting his position to look at the griffon at a level height. He simply walked up to the cage and placed a hand on the lock, contemplating on the consequences of crushing the feeble piece and releasing the slave.
