"Why... why do you oppose me? How will you sustain this world on that scrap of mana...?"
Words... were they only words? Perhaps... but with his dying breath, the Descender of Gilgulim, Widdershin, had used his power to implant just one tiny crystal into Terresia's Tree of Mana. It was so microscopic that no one ever saw it enter the Tree's bark, and burrow deep into its core, corrupting the mana that flowed out into a twisted form of miasma. No one ever detected it rotting them... no one even felt different, until it was far too late.
When the worlds were released by Gilgulim's explosion, bridges were formed. Bridges for the members of Ad Libitum to return home, to their home. But it wasn't until these bridges were formed that the crystal had grown to become the true terror it was born to be, its growth having been accelerated by the boon of the fresh mana erupting from the death of the main body Gilgulim. The worlds, as if attracted by a magnet, were sucked in by the bridges as if they were a retracting elastic band, and crashed into Terresia. There was a bright, blinding light, which quickly faded into utter darkness, so dark that you could scarcely see the hand in front of your face. The parasitic crystal had blended the worlds together, and mutated tem into a depraved, sickening version of what they really are.
The heroes awoke, monsters everywhere, with only bits and pieces of their true worlds scattered throughout. Only a handful of actual cities made it through, as did many landmarks, such as the Tower of Mana.
But those were not the only things brought back into this patchwork world of chaos and destruction. The parasite crystal had attracted all kinds of mana, including the mana of those that were evil... the villains had returned as a result. They were every bit as confused as the heroes, for they were burning in hell one minute, and were thrown into this mutated world the next.
What is to happen? Will the heroes fight their way out of this hellhole, or will the villains receive vengeance for their defeat... and make this new world their dominion?
It's up to you... but choose quickly, for you may not be breathing for much longer.
"Worlds, yes. There is no telling what may happen...
