Yuan Ka-Fai
and
Kailas Arythan
and
Kailas Arythan
- Yuan frowned slightly as Kratos admitted that he had no idea where they were either. He inclined his head slightly as a woman in brown nodded a greeting at the two of them on her way into the inn, but his mind was more focused on the problem of what was going on. "I don't really know how I got here either" the half-elf admitted to his companion. "I had this...vision? dream? I'm not really sure what it was. I couldn't see or feel anything though. It was as if I had somehow fallen into a place where nothing existed but me. However, shortly after that, I awoke near this village." He paused, reflecting that he had not actually been all that near the village, considering the fact that he had walked more than an hour to get here. "Actually, it's been quite a while since I woke up. I spent a while walking."
Glancing around the square again, Yuan half hoped he might see another familiar face or perhaps a clue as to where they were. "I don't even know where here is..." he said, the slight frown on his face darkening a bit. He still hadn't found any signs indicating the name of any of the roads or the name of the village, although he knew there had to be something around somewhere. The only signs within view at the moment had the names of buildings on them though. There was the inn sign above the two of them, a small general store down the road, and what looked like it might be a religious center of some sort. Yuan considered going there to ask questions, knowing that the followers of Martel had always been helpful when he was traveling in the past. However, even from here he could tell that whatever it was, they didn't worship Martel. Was he in some remote and obscure part of the world where the people still clung to ancient religions? He thought Cruxis had managed to wipe them out, although now that the Church of Martel was no longer being backed by the might of the angels some of the underground cults had resurfaced.
"I am at a bit of a loss as to what to do next." Yuan said after a moment, returning his gaze to Kratos. "I don't suppose you've spoken to any of the locals yet?" That seemed like the best way to get answers, but he wasn't sure where he wanted to start. The villagers did not seem like the friendliest bunch, and there were still quite a few staring at the pair of seraphs, talking amongst themselves. The way the people kept looking at himself and Kratos, Yuan wondered if they looked like members of some sort of gang that terrorized the area. That would explain why they had been so keen to get out of his way as he had walked into the village.

Kailas came awake slowly, acutely aware of various bruises and aches all over his body that definitely hadn't been there before. Had he fallen off one of the cliffs while playing tag in the woods? The last thing he remembered was leaving the village with his twin to join their friends for a game of hide and seek. He opened his eyes slowly, blinking at the bright sunlight. He appeared to be laying on some sort of shingles, which didn't make much sense. Sitting up carefully, he realized that he was on the roof of a small house. How had he gotten up here? And for that matter, where exactly was 'here'? He looked around, not recognizing any of the surrounding area. The trees that were visible were all unfamiliar types, and the terrain was not similar to any place he had ever been.
Very confused now, the half-elf crawled to the edge of the roof and peered downward. The ground wasn't that far away, so he knew he would be ok to jump down. However, he could hear people talking, so he tried to eavesdrop on what they were talking about. All he could make out were muffled voiced, but a sudden shiver ran down his spine at the thought that maybe he and Emrys had been kidnapped. His grandfather had always warned him that as the future guardians of the shrines the two of them would be very valuable as hostages. Kailas had always dismissed the idea as ludicrous in the past, but now that he was in such a strange place he couldn't help but wonder. However, if he had been kidnapped, why would they leave him on the roof? Moving carefully, he searched for a trap door and found no apparent access to the roof from inside the house. He also saw no sign of his twin.
Another thought struck him, and he checked his pocket in a panic, only to sigh in relief as he found his cards undamaged. He pulled out the card that would let him summon Xyrian, checking to make sure it was still in the case that protected it. Below him, he heard the door to the house slam and he froze. A girl with sandy blond hair was storming angrily away, but she wan't anyone he recognized. She was followed shortly by a man in a large cloak with red hair. Placing the summon card back into his pocket, Kailas moved toward the edge of the roof again, considering jumping down. The door opened a third time and a tall boy with dark hair came into sight from under the eaves. The half-elf couldn't help but stare, since the boy appeared to have antennae, as though he were a bug or something. He was talking to some people who were still out of Kailas' line of sight, saying something about going to fight in the forest. Scooting back from the edge of the roof a bit, the half-elf wondered if he should stay out of sight instead of getting involved with these people. Still, they might know where Emrys was. In fact, they might even be the reason he was here. He decided to wait until whoever the bug-boy was talking to came outside too before he jumped down, to avoid accidentally landing on them. He readied his cards just in case they turned out to be unfriendly.
((Whee, my first ever Tales OC!
{Tear is chilling in the inn until further notice}
By the way edoshin, did you notice Kratos said Yuan's name twice in the same sentence? xD ))

As the krityan stalked off in a huff, Yuri rolled his eyes and sighed. He knew the look Estelle had to be giving him after that rather poor taste in behaviour. He himself knew he was being somewhat unreasonable, but that did not make him any happier about Ade wanting to drag Estelle off to goodness-knows-where.
