-storyline-

It started with one. One moment, a world thrived with life and energy as its people went about their daily business. The next moment, it was simply gone. There was no explosion, no flash of light, no sign to signal an impending demise. The world had simply vanished in the blink of an eye, as if it had never existed in the first place.

As many were completely ignorant of the existence of other worlds, very few people from the other worlds noticed a large celestial body had disappeared. Those who did tried to find the reason for this odd occurrence. A sense of unease came to those who found the answer. It was discovered that each world possessed a world core, a powerful object or material that served as an energy source to keep the planet in existence. Remove it, these truth-seekers realized, and the world would vanish in the same manner the missing world did.

A solution was searched for in order to avoid a fate similar to the fallen world. However, with only a handful of desperate researchers, a solution was not found in time. They could only watch as worlds began to disappear one by one, fearing the worst for the inhabitants of these doomed worlds.

Unbeknownst to the onlookers, however, there were survivors. Warriors from the missing worlds suddenly found themselves in places that differed from those of their worlds. Confused and wary, these warriors began to search for answers. What or who was responsible for this madness? Was there any way to restore their worlds? These questions led them to wander the ground of this unfamiliar place, the world of Palestia Miran…

-rules and regulations-

1. This is a RP made to give fellow Tales fans the opportunity to create an interesting new story using both canon and original characters. Therefore, since the best stories are written well, no actions should be written like *jumps out of a tree*, and it is asked that grammar errors are kept to a minimum. Chat speak is not allowed except in OOC dialogue, and even then it should be kept to a minimum. It is encouraged to have a minimum of five sentences per character post.

2. Each participant can have up to six characters. Just be sure you can keep up and play the characters right. All character profiles must be PMd to Abyssia Holland.

3. If all goes well, this will be a long-term RP. Don’t send character profiles if you won’t be able to participate at all. If you are participating in the RP and must leave for a certain period of time, it is advised that you write an excuse for your character to be temporarily absent from the group of characters he or she is currently with. This way, anyone who wants to continue RPing won’t be stuck with an inactive character.

4. Romance is a good aspect and definitely permitted. However, I must state that this RP is rated PG-13 and nothing explicit should occur.

5. Seeing as how some characters are ruder that others, I understand that some swearing can’t be avoided. Just don’t have your characters cussing all the time; that’s obnoxious.

6. No god-moding or auto-hitting.

7. All participants must subscribe to this thread. Trust me, this will save everyone a lot of time and sanity.

8. Do not post blatant plot spoilers from the games. Vague references are okay, but don't say anything along the lines of "so-and-so died". Although you finished a certain game, that doesn't mean everyone else here has. Don't ruin the surprise!

9. If needed, the rules can be changed with the approval of the RP’s creator, Abyssia Holland.

10. As proof that you’ve read all the rules, when you PM your character profiles to me, put Cheagles live inside tree trunks. as the subject.

This Tales series RP is going to be a little more experimental than other ones I've read on Gaia. Rather than taking place on a world already existing in the Tales universe, this story will occur on the original world of Palestia Miran. This world is currently a mystery to our heroes, so they'll have to map locations of towns and dungeons they're visited along the way. When our heroes approach a new town or dungeon, I'll post naming the location and giving a description of the place. Anyone who wishes to create a location can PM me with the place's name and description under the subject Indignation!.

Other fun, Tales-related things can be posted here as well, so don't feel shy about suggesting anything (via OOC post or PM).

This is a design I accidentally made when creating the world map. It was originally just going to be a design for the compass, but I thought it looked rather neat, so I messed around with some special effects and added text.

Artes System Discussion

Long ago, the human named Aria embarked on a journey that led her from one world to the next. No one knows what she was searching for. Even fewer know if she ever found it. However, her journey abruptly came to an end when she came to the world of Palestia Miran. The people of this world, unable to use magic, were constantly threatened by the dangers of monsters. Pained that these good people suffered so, Aria sacrificed her own humanity, becoming a spirit who guarded the world. After this was done, Aria's sole companion during her journey, Shimra, found that by creating pacts with Aria, the people would be able to use her energy to use magical artes. And so, with the aid of the ones who formed these pacts, Shimra founded Aria's Order, vowing to protect the people Aria loved so much.
Such is written in the history of Palestia Miran.

Outside the quiet farmtown of Izul, Emily Bransen discovers two men carrying a wounded woman. Worried, she tries to assist them, only to have a mysterious fourth person arrive and heal the woman and one of the men with magic. It is discovered that these strangers are named Zelos Wilder, Chester Burklight, Sheena Fujibayashi, and Estellise Sidos Heurassein (or Estelle for short). Relieved, yet disturbed by the party's odd actions and appearances, Emily leads the small group to her house on the edge of Izul. Inside, once joined by a young Krityan named Ade and the swordsman Yuri Lowell, the girl discovers that, by ways unbeknownst to them, these warriors had come to Palestia Miran from other worlds. Emily then informs everyone that normally, people of Palestia Miran are unable to use artes unless they undergo training as Knights of Aria's Order and form pacts with Aria.

After this, the group splits up. Chester remains in Emily's home with Sheena while Zelos follows Emily into town. While wandering through the crowd, the two come acrossed Yuan and a mysterious Cruxis crystal-carrying woman named Larsa Heimdall. Leaving Emily to deal with her business, Zelos guides Larsa and Yuan back to the house. Emily then runs into Yuri, who also decided to explore town and ran into two other lost warriors: Tear Grants and Kailas Arythan. As Emily takes her leave to head to the inn, Yuri talks with Tear and Kailas, and things seem almost normal. However, it isn't long before they find Emily again, this time crouching with a wounded foot and the Knight Deios Arafai standing over her. Not only that, they are shortly joined by none other than Sync the Tempest. Unbeknownst to this group, more otherworldly fighters miraculously wound up in this small town as well. Arche Klein and Raine Sage find themselves in a confrontation with Remiel and another angel, Abel. A mysterious monk by the name of Kyrnar Essen has also wandered into town, as well as Shirley Fennes.

Meanwhile, something has been stirring in the woods. As Estelle and Ade search Kleive Forest, they stumble across Flynn Scifo, Yeager, Sodia Trasone, Anise Tatlin, Chloe Valens, and the entimologist Artemis Stratis. Before the princess and the Krityan can explain the situation, however, a mischievous creature drags none other than Colette Brunel, accompanied by Larsa and Yuan, into trouble with a gigantic monster, whose mighty roar draws the attention of our heroes...
