As she continued to explore the Town, she continued to not hear or see any sign of life. Where the hell was she?! The Monster Hunter was getting quite fed up with all of the quiet, she liked it loud and, to be frank, exceptionally dangerous. She was a bit of a Masochist in such situations, she liked life more when it was loud and in her face, anything else was just crazy boring.

Just as she began to lose all hope of finding another person in the Ghost town, her ears picked up a rather squeaky male voice. What the hell?? She caught a glimpse of the kid before her weight was forcably shifted from her feet to her back, and another weight falling on top of her. Just what was this dude thinking?! If he hadn't caught her completely by surprise there would probably either be a foot stuck in his face, or part of her sword in... Other places. "Dude what the hell?!" she yelled, giving him a scowl with an eyebrow raised. Why was he trying to touch her horn?! That part of her armour alone took weeks of Kirin-Killing to get! Did he KNOW how hard it was to carve an undamaged horn off of a Unicorn after hours of pummeling it?! Nearly impossible! Tara was close to kicking him to death, but the stranger had decided to not touch her precious Armour, so that would have to hold off until he did some other stupid thing. She got the vibe of "Out There", from this guy.
And wait, why the hell did he rub his FACE on her ARM?! Something was seriously screwed up with this guy.

"Geez, at least apologize for knocking someone down. Expecially one that can kill you, kid." she frowned, pushing him off of her, she was in fact serious about being able to kill people, monsters were just like people, just with claws and wings. "Err... Hi... I'm Tara..." yep, there was definately something up with the wackjob, what kinda question was that? .

She simply ignored the last question, not worth her time to explain her slaughtering career.

A book is like a garden carried in the pocket. ~Chinese Proverb

Mulan was relieved to hear Sora give the all-clear on trouble here in China. While she was sincerely happy to see Sora and his friends whenever they visited, they ought heralded some sinister force coming to attack her home. After all, the last time he’d been here a huge, monstrous entity was actually running amok inside the walls of the Imperial City. Shan-Yu alone, she could understand, was one man and if planned carefully it was plausible, but a huge beats like THAT? She was surprised the Emperor awarded her bravery, rather than spurn her carelessness when it came to guarding the city.

Mulan gave Shang a small gesture as he departed, saddened to see him go as well. But he was her superior above all things first, and there were many things she had to tend before her own feelings. Most pointedly, the three foreigners it seemed she was going to have to escort to the Imperial City.

“I’m supposed to be returning to the City soon as well, to give my report on my most recent mission. I’ll escort all of you.” Not that she had any intention of leaving them behind at all, she wasn’t so heartless.

Speaking of the Heartless… that was the only time she’d seen Sora using his… unusual skills against them. Seeing him use them for something as simple as clearing the path was a bit surprising, but not nearly as surprising as the way Silvia grabbed her arm and yanked her away from Sora.

“F-Fire!” she stammered, pulling on Mulan’s arm,"Get away from it!”

“Silvia?” Mulan asked, placing her hand atop the girls.

“You’ll get burned!” She insisted, pulling harder. While Mulan was used to Sora’s unique-ness, it seemed to have literally scared Silvia witless. Though, in the girl’s defense, how was Mulan to know that Silvia had come to associate fire with the Nightmares and the horrors of her last night in Neverland? Having Ashe around had helped with that fear a little, but without her the blaze that came from Sora’s hand was as frightening as gun trained right at her face.

“Sora, wait.” Mulan said, glancing back at the boy as Silvia continued to try and move her away form him, “Silvia, it’s alright, Sora’s a friend. He’s helping us, you don’t have to be afraid.”

Silvia shook her vigorously, her eyes still trained on Sora should he try to summon even more fire. She was torn, on one hand there was the terrifying memories of her home swimming through her mind’s eye, and on the other there was the pain of not knowing what had happened to one of her only friends out here.

“Please stop,” Silvia begged, her eyes traveling up to meet Sora’s,“The fire it… it’ll ruin it all.”

Well then.
It was all an illusion in the end, so to speak, never a dead green thing. The illusion disappearedafter the real creature of said illusion appeared. Oh..and there was a floating cat. At least that was the one creature out of these other two..and himself apparently...that looked normal in this atmosphere. For a little while the heartless thought the fumes of this gaseous body was giving him a high or somethin of the sort. If he could have smiled he might have at the irritated words of the floating black feline. A joke? He'd heard one of those before, and it was probably just as bad as this one might turn out. This little circus was getting a little boring if everyone was only talking instead of leading the way around this odd place. The would be Ghastly floated slightly out of the brush before simply hovering down to rest on the ground. His golden eyes caught the movement of the green one after his seemingly non-chalant little speech to the black cat.

The words spoken though, the Heartless could not make head's or tails of what he was talking about. Well..not completely...apparently that green thing wasn't too fond of these 'Ghost' and 'Dark' types. Well..sure they sounded omnious...but how in the world would that thing know what he was, let alone what the hound was? Well...if everybody was going on about and lying about who they were, what they were in this foreign land...then he'd just have to watch and play it to his advantage. Given he was something that could disappear at any moment..maybe they'd forget he was watching at all. Then again, that wasn't any fun. So the orb of a creature began to lightly roll out of the brush until he had rolledon over to the front paws of the hound. It had said it's name was Malery, that sounded strange and funny...what a cruel joke it must of been to live with that stigma of a name. He'd simply say he was nameless..no reason to disclose any of that to any of them as the heartless remained where he was.

"I suppose by what..Malery has pointed out...you have a little more something to hide. Your stance...is it a fight you are looking for, and your black kitty there is the judge?"

Roxas. Echo raised an eyebrow and studied him for a few more moments. Then he was the old Organization's Keybearer.

In her dreams, she'd been aware of many other members of the old Organization. Most encounters were fleeting - she so rarely saw anyone face-to-face while dreaming. But she heard. She heard the voices that echoed within the mind of any dreamer, and she heard the whispers and the murmurs that dreamers were not aware of. She heard what they thought, what they wondered, what they dreamed.

She'd seen Xemnas' plans for this boy.

She knew what he was capable of - what the Superior had believed he was capable of. She knew bits and pieces of where he'd come from.

The princess allowed a small smile to curve up on her lips. Roxas would be a fitting replacement for Sora, all things considered.

"A pleasure to meet you, Roxas," She said, and she wasn't at all surprised to find that her words were sincere. It was a pleasure - though perhaps not for conventional reasons. "You're quite welcome... Nasty little buggers, aren't they? Those things..." Echo grimaced. The worlds could do with a few less Heartless scuttling about.

At his next question, she paused. How indeed? The funny thing about dreams was that one was never quite aware of how they got from place to place in them. When a dream shifted, when a dreamer's surroundings changed, their subconscious supplied them with the belief that they'd been there all along. Echo, being a Fantasian, was aware of this. She made use of it when she traveled. As a being born from a world of dreams, but most importantly as a lucid dreamer, she was able to trick herself into going from world to world as she was dreaming.

The worlds all shared the same sky, but they also shared dreams, as well. It was a simple matter to move from one world's dreams to another - and from one world to another. For her, anyway. She wasn't quite sure how to explain it to Roxas, but she was confident that if the Nobody was, for some reason, unable to form a portal, she'd be able to handle getting them off-world.

"It is a rather long story, but I suppose to simplify it one could say I simply followed my dreams. After all, if you know the right dreams to follow, they never lead you astray." The girl glanced around them carefully before returning her attention to the blond in front of her. "Tell me, where do you plan to go from here?" She couldn't imagine that the boy would want to stay in this place for very long. Surely he could feel it - surely he could feel that there were things changing in the worlds. Surely whatever experiences he'd had prior to coming here had made him aware of that.

xx If he was being completely and totally one hundred percent honest with himself, Sora was the tiniest bit annoyed when Mulan called out for him to wait. She lived near this mountain--she knew its dangers. The wind was picking up, and it combined with the snow stung his bare skin. Still, there was a tone of urgency in her voice, and any irritation he may have felt was forgotten in his concern for the pair. He turned back to find Silvia clutching Mulan's arm and looking at him pleadingly. Baffled, Sora jogged back to the girls, yanking his Keyblade out of the snow as he passed it. (He had been counting on the fact that it never left him and would always return and not because the writer forgot about it.) As he approached Silvia, he asked in a somewhat worried tone, "What's wrong? What d'you mean, 'ruin it all'?"

The world, however, didn't appear to want to allow Silvia to answer him. Moment before Sora reached Mulan and Silvia, Shadow--who had concealed himself in Sora's jacket and flattened himself against his Somebody's back, doing so to escape the stinging snow outside and inadvertently hiding himself from anyone else in the process--chose that time to pop his head out briefly and survey what was going on, as he had felt...something. His yellow lamp-like eyes immediately became drawn to a great black shape that was bearing down on them, and the screech that Shadow let out that followed caused Sora to wince but also see what the Heartless had seen before him.

"Reflectara!" Sora shouted, whipping up his Keyblade and steadying it with both hands with reflexes that could only have been developed through what seemed like ages of fighting things that loved to pop up out of nowhere. Not a moment too soon, too: the barrier that enveloped the six of them (Khan and Cornelius included) had just barely sprung up before no less than four Nightmares slammed into it. The magic was strong, but the Nightmares were heavy, and the barrier was larger than Sora was used to making. He could feel the weight pressing down on the Keyblade as the energy link between the over-sized key and the shield shared the weight. Thankfully, the shield was shaped like a dome, and the Nightmares had either slid down or jumped off of the shield by the time Sora couldn't keep up the magic any longer.

These Nightmares, however, were not the same sack-like ones that had attacked Sora in Radiant Garden. They looked somewhat similar to tigers, except their legs were thicker, their claws and teeth longer, and they were mostly pitch black (save for lighter patches that looked very much like stripes) and about twice the size of regular tigers. Their heads were level with Sora's, and they were only a little smaller than Khan.

While a few of them had been momentarily stunned by the impact of running into the Reflectara spell, two of them recovered quickly. Snarling, they leapt towards the nearest targets--Silvia and Mulan--but Sora broke through the aforementioned pair and met the tigers before they could reach the females. One stopped itself and changed direction, but the other had charged, and it couldn't stop itself when Sora did the only thing he could think of doing: horizontally shoving the Keyblade between the thing's jaws. It was obviously not pleased about this and tried to clamp down and break the blade, but it was far too strong for that. The impact jarred Sora's arms, but he somehow managed to shove the tiger back a few feet. There wasn't any time to look back and check on the others: he had his hands full right here. Holding the Keyblade's hilt in two hands, Sora charged again to reengage the monster.

Can you tell me a story that I don't know?
Can you show me a picture that I haven't seen before?
Can you do one thing for me? Just let me go.
JUST LET ME GO.

Can you give me a reason why to stay behind?
Can you say it to my face that I'm not wasting all my time?
Can you do one thing for me? Just let me go.

"This is unfortunate."

Perhaps these would be the only words that would leave his mouth that day. He found himself hanging upside down from the main clock tower, his new clothes dangling from the 'Days to Halloween' sign under the clocktower. From his original crash landing, if it could be be called as such, the sign had begun shaking back and forth under his weight. In the return flight, he was flung to the ground, the sign itself coming along with him and hitting him squarely in the back of his head. Ah, it was unfortunate indeed. Not that he cared. Pain was only temporary. He rubbed his fingers along the inside of his arm, across the scar, and sighed. History. Pain. Suffering. And now confusion. Where was he? What had happened? This was the second time something akin to this had happened to him in the past couple of hours and he found himself questioning whether the two events were related. At least the last time he had landed comfortably in a world filled with mushrooms and coins and stars. This was far less inviting, were he to look around.

He proceeded to look around.

The sight was somewhat disastrous. A gigantic 'cut' of sorts was formed along the ground near where the remains of a guillotine lay shattered and in pieces. Pieces of the cobbled ground were strewn about what seemed to be this city's centre. It was much like the last city centre he had been in - the centre point of the main town was a gallows, though. Moving on from that memory, the almost-adult-but-still-a-teen noticed a cracked fountain spurting out a greenish liquid, randomly now due to the cracks and breaks that had formed all over its body. Perhaps the most intriguing part of this entire scene was what lay behind this fountain: a woman. Clothed in somewhat darker clothes than what he thought she would normally wear (he gathered that for a girl with light hair, she was dressed rather darkly), he extended an arm to try and wake her. Of course, in doing so, he recognised his own hand, arm and long, black-sleeved shirt. Well, that's new.

Examining himself closer, he was now wearing a black jumpsuit like garment, which was made of soft, breathable fabric and edged with spike-like protrusions rather than your everyday collar, cuff and... pant-end. The Sage of Dusk had no idea what this last part of clothing was referred to as. It mattered not, though, and he discarded it quickly. What mattered now was getting this girl to- safety?

Yep. Safety. Trust me, you didn't want to be here when this happened, and you don't want to be here if it happens againt. A voice? From where?
Smoker, please. Leave the mental guidance to me. You had your turn in his position.

Odd. Odd indeed. He didn't mind. Veritas, Sage of Dusk, tapped Toyah, unbeknownst to her similar condition, before shaking her calmly in a slight rock. When she did not quickly respond, he lifted her up onto his shoulders, bearing her weight. He didn't feel all that helpful usually, but his conscience was having a brief moment of 'activation', per se, and was insisting he assist the girl. His... dual conscience? Or were they another fragment of his mind entirely? He knew not what to make of them. I suppose this is an interesting day at least.

His interest wasn't peaked much by the strangeness. Little excited him. Bloody emotionless heart.

((This seems short to me. Why does it seem short? ;a; ))

Roxas watched her noticing the slight smile followed by her very refined response to his greeting, Well she did say she was a princess. He nodded about her comment concerning the heartless. "Yeah, no matter how many you kill twelve others take it's place."

The heartless was once a growing epidemic until Sora fixed the cause of their rambunctious behavior. Too bad he could only deplete their numbers instead of eliminating them entirely. He wished it but knew that doing so would be close to impossible. The heartless were manifestations of the heart.

Dark manifestations. The only way to completely eradicate their existence would be to ask all of man kind and such to dispel their dark emotions. He let out a small snort, Fat chance of that happining. People were flawed and to ask them to be otherwise was like asking cat to act like a dog.

Even he still harbored deep feelings of anger for being used and jealousy towards Sora. He returned his attention to Echo as she explained how she arrived there, By following her dreams... He thought about it for a moment, Pretty bizarre way to end up here, but I guess it makes sense. When she quested where he was going to go next he didn't know how to answer her.

He hadn't even considered that yet. At first what popped in his mind was to find sora but he quickly pushed that out of his head. It had been along time since he was him again, there was no way he was running back to him just to merge again. Maybe I'll go to twilight town. The thought of Olette, pence and hayner emerged in his head soon followed by the realization that their friendship wasn't real.

It was just something created by Diz until Sora was ready. He let out a melancholic sigh, "I don't-I don't know." He desperately searched for something that tied him to someone but couldn't find anything. "I don't really have anywhere to go." As he thought more about it he remembered Namine. Many questioned filled his head concerning her but the one that stood out the most was if she was alright.

Time passed, distance passed. Maybe hours, maybe ages, maybe miles or maybe moments - Rai couldn't tell. He felt like he'd fallen out of sync with the entire world, floating underwater, numbed and disconnected from all the sights and sounds and feelings he should've been experiencing. He sensed himself slipping now, and thought he might go either way soon; he might slip back into reality, or he might slip all the way out and be lost forever to nothingness. For some reason, he didn't care - and as he considered that, he felt the balance tipping, felt himself slipping away...

                                        And then she was there.

He felt a hand on his forehead, felt delicate fingers gently brushing through his hair, and in response he opened his eyes. He saw nothing but gray sky overhead. The sky flashed, forked with lightning for a split second, and then it was gone; a long strand of silver hair blew into his field of view momentarily, caught by the breeze, and then it disappeared.

Rai tried to sit up, but a bronze-skinned hand on his chest pushed him back down. A feminine voice spoke to him softly, soothing, urging him to relax. He felt his head cradled in her lap.

"In a moment," she said. "But you mustn't be so reckless next time."

He tried to speak, to say, It's not like I wanted to be the hero, but the words stuck in his throat and he found himself unable to use his voice.

                                        Slipping, slipping, slipping away....

"Careful, this is the place where we sealed him," the voice said now. He felt her shift, he saw her hand as she placed it firmly on his chest, over his heart, saw red sparks dance around her fingertips and the tingling sensation they produced. Something in him responded faintly to this, and he felt a humming in his veins. Overhead, the lightning in the clouds became more intense, more frequent, forked bolts of red and gold and blue and every other color imaginable.

"Now," she said, "go and live."

Then the red sparks turned into a red bolt, and the electricity surged into him. Suddenly, Rai found his voice, enough to gasp at the explosive pain as the energy coursed through him and his heart suddenly pounded to life -

Gasping, Rai opened his eyes and lifted his head, sending drops of water scattering around him.

His heart heaved violently in his chest, and remnants of golden sparks buzzed across his skin before vanishing altogether. He was lying in water, on a surface of bluish stone; when he sat up and looked back, he was greeted by the sight of a vast, silent expanse of ocean stretching off into the murky distance. The stone shelf dropped off into the abyss a short distance away.

"Where...?" he wondered, twisting to get a better view, but the movement sent a sharp, shooting pain through his chest. He felt some bones moving there that...probably shouldn't have been moving the way they did. Ow. Ribs.

Wincing, Rai held out his hand and summoned the keyblade. It appeared at once when he called, settling easily in his hand, almost weightless. Clenching his teeth, he shut his eyes and thought, Take me home. Please. I don't want to be here...

He opened his eyes and waited, but nothing happened. No response.

Frustrated, Rai let the bronze keyblade vanish, wishing it away. Pulling his knees up to his chest, he laid his head on them and huddled there, listening to the sounds of the waves as they lapped against his shoes.

No more keyblade, no more heroes - he just wanted to go home.

User ImageKairi allowed herself to be dragged along behind Rain, chiming I only when she was sure the other girl had absolutely no idea where to go. Not that it was surprising to her, Kairi wasn’t even sure where the Treasury was and she’d seen it just the other day. Glancing around, Kairi tried to make sense of the long hall they’d found themselves in, but it looked identical to the other battle scarred halls here in the palace. As a guide in this unfamiliar place, Kairi was up the creek without a paddle. However…

What about a parrot?

It took a bit of searching, mostly keeping to the edges of room to avoid being questioned by anyone, but eventually Kairi and Rain found the palace’s resident greedy loudmouth, a bright red parrot named Iago, who was currently sorting through the different wedding gifts that had been broken or damaged. Abu was with him, testing a few gold coins for authenticity by biting down on them. Iago looked far more forlorn at the fact that most of the gifts brought for Aladdin and Jasmine had been totally trashed by the rampaging Nightmares; he’d been hoping to get a piece of the good for all his hard “work”.

“Iago?” Kairi asked, kneeling down to the bird’s level and she tried to straighten out a bent golden platter.

“What? Can’t you see I’m busy here?” The bird shot back.

“Iago, we need your help. Rain and I need to find the treasury to look for something. Can you show us the way?”

“Oh, I get it!" he snapped, eyeing them suspiciously, "Go and distract me so that third one of you guys can come pickin’ through all the stuff I gathered here! Is that it?”

Kairi sighed, obviously not ready for the parrot’s extreme paranoia.

“Mei, isn’t with us right now. It’s just me and Rain and we just need directions.”

“Go look for a map! I said I’m busy!”

“… I thought these were gifts for the wedding couple,” Kairi said slowly, “I wonder how they’d feel if they heard you were trying to take all their gifts for yourself?”

Iago paused, a little worried with the subtle threat Kairi was giving. Last thing he needed was to get his beak stuck in another mess. But he was just trying to be helpful, right? Just trying to clean things up. It wasn’t as if he’d take anything that would be obvious, not like that fancy staff in the corner or that gold statue of a woman and a cat…

But he didn’t want to leave it behind either. As much as Iago tried to think of a way to reason that he wasn’t going to steal things, he didn’t want to leave this amazing catch of prizes behind.

Oh well, wasn’t as if he hadn’t used the monkey before.

“Fine, fine! You want a guide, you got one! Take the monkey! Jeez, stop twisting my tail feathers…” He said, passively brushing off the threat. Abu was still biting down on a stack of bent coins, jumping and screeching loudly when Iago finally yelled at him. “You heard me, fleabag! Go with them!”

Abu scrambled up on to Kairi shoulder, tossing bent coins at Iago and shrieking the whole way up; Kairi was a little worried they might have to contend with this the whole way there. No way they could avoid being noticed with a screaming monkey on her head.

“Oh yeah, you keep saying that and see what happens!” Iago yelled back. Kairi tried to back away and put some distance between to the two, and thankfully Abu grew calmer the further away they were form Iago. She shot Rain an apologetic look, having no idea they were going to end up in the middle of argument between two very loud animals.

Abu began to chatter in Kairi’s ear, sounding much calmer and more curious than before. Unlike Iago, Kairi really had no idea what he was saying.

“Uh… Rain and I are looking for the Treasury. We… We lost some important stuff before, when those monsters came, and we thought maybe someone put them in there. Do you think you can help?” Kairi asked. Holding out a bent arm, Abu crawled to her elbow and peered at Rain as well.

“Tell him what we’re looking for, Rain. Maybe Abu’s seen the Gummi Blocks.”

“Aw, come on now, don’t be so cruel to the little guy,” came a cheerful voice just up above Tara and Lux’s heads, “He was just being friendly, after all.”

A young man sat atop one of the various stalls that lined the street, eyeing the both of them an expression not unlike that of a cat that had just cornered a pair of mice. He sat with his bare feet hanging over the edge of the roof, and he leaned forward with his elbows on his knees. There was a large weapon tied to his back, a swallow, with wickedly sharp, curved blades on both ends of the staff.

“Hey, maybe I could get in on that, too? You know… just being friendly.”

He looked to be roughly Tara’s height, if not a little on the short side, clothed only in a blue-green Yukata that hung off one shoulder. The loose sleeved was tucked into the waist of his clothes, showing off crisp clean wrappings that coiled around his chest. Despite being barefoot, his feet looked to be surprisingly clean, decorated with only a single string of green beads around his ankle. They were akin to the small strand coiled around the blonde wisp of hair growing out of an otherwise short head of blonde hair. He was still grinning at them, waiting for Tara to consider his offer as he moved one hand to rest his chin the crook of his palm. As if to add emphasis to his cat-like expression, a smooth tailed flicked back and forth behind him, the fur on it the exact color of his hair.

“Greetings, lovely strangers… I’m Kio, by the way.”

He hopped down from the roof, landing easily on both feet before cracking hi neck lazily. He took another second to look both Lux and Tara over with an expression that spoke volumes about how he confused he was with their unusual looks a clothes.

"I haven't seen the two of you around here before, so... you must be new? Perfect! Since you're both still in one piece you must be really knew!"

Shessie watched over the other two characters. The mutt decided to introduce itself, stating that his named was Malery. Shessie barely bat an eye, for he was not about to get all chummy and announce himself. It was none of their business, and frankly, he didn’t see why Malery had bothered. However, because the hound had been polite, Shessie supposed he could consider the creature less vile than he had before. As for the tiny black storm cloud; not much could be said about that guy.

Rei claiming that the black ragged feline was no fun made it scoff, and speak in a hoarse voice. “I tend to have more fun when I can really dig my claws into something.” His red eyes glanced over at the other two cautiously. A gust of wind passed like a menacing laugh making Shessie’s ear twitch. An uneasy and apprehensive atmosphere hung in the air like a dense fog. Shessie set his paws down on the ground, pushing the padded feet deeper into the dirt letting it get in between his claws. Oh, how he wished he had thumbs again.

The smoky figure seemed to judge Rei’s stance, and question it rather bluntly.

“A judge? I prefer to be in the ring. Frankly though, I have more important things to attend to.”

He flicked his tail and started to trot off. Twigs and branches rustled in an unsettling manner nearby. Shessie paused and stared straight ahead. He only shifted his gaze slowly to the right. Another late night visitor?

He bared his almost shark like teeth in the form of a smile. His long black tail twitched excitedly from side to side.

“No need to be shy,” he spoke to the bush, “I don’t bite…that hard.” A shadow emerged from the bush; it seemed to be the silhouette of a human.

            Shessie’s grin only widened further.

The figure dashed off in the direction of the town. Shessie whipped his head back, his eyes burning with desire. He wanted—no, needed, that body back.

“Rei! Move it or we’ll lose him,” the feline barked—which is hilarious, considering he was a cat. He pushed his little legs forward in an almost vain attempt to try and chase his body. No matter how futile it seemed now, there was nothing else that mattered. His blood-red eyes were locked on their target, and his aim was dead-set.

xx Having mainly stuck around the wing where the injured were and the room she shared with Mei and Kairi, Rain wasn't overly familiar with the palace's residents. She knew some of their names well enough and was sort of on speaking terms, but she didn't have enough of a relationship with any of them to just walk up to someone and ask for their help. It wasn't really anyone's fault--everyone was busy with either caring for the injured, burying and mourning the (thankfully few) dead, repairing the palace, or boosting the city's defenses. The amount of people they had to do all of these tasks was pitifully small and so they were all spread thinly. As such, everyone was working hard, and now wasn't the time for any relationship-building sessions. Kairi, on the other hand, seemed to be a little more comfortable even though she'd not been here much longer than Rain, and so she was able to identify the red parrot that appeared to be looting the wedding gifts for Jasmine and Aladdin. She hung back a little so they didn't crowd the animals (you didn't run into very many animals when you lived inside a computer program, although she was pretty sure they didn't talk very often) and after listening to a fairly brief conversation between Kairi and Iago, they acquired Aladdin's monkey friend, Abu, as a guide.

It would have been a lot more helpful if he could speak English, too.

Rain had to think about the Gummi Blocks for a moment. How did you describe them, really? Eventually, however, she decided on a description. "They're...rubbery and elastic, as as far as I know, you can't break them even if you bite down on them. They're usually as large as...as...actually, Abu, most are a bit smaller than you are. They're very colourful, too, and hard to find," she finished. She decided not to mention that if you knew how to work with them, they could become much, much bigger, or smaller if you needed them to. But all of this would be for nothing if the Treasury actually didn't have any Gummi Blocks, or if any Gummis that happened to be there weren't the right ones for a ship, or there were some parts missing...oh, she wished she'd listened to Tron and Clu and all the others whenever they tried teaching her about Gummis with the digital ones they had in Space Paranoids. They weren't real, of course, but the concept was the same. She'd simply had little interest because there were things like solar sailers, and she had few intentions of actually leaving Space Paranoids if she'd even known how.

xx In response to the blue Houndoom's--Malery's--query as to why he felt it necessary to try and delude them, Rei merely shrugged. "Something to do. 'Sides, you guys woke me up, and it's always better to know what someone looks like. Especially if they piss you off." The Gallade flashed a wide grin at Malery and Shadow, then bowed slightly, mockingly. "Rei. I'm not at anyone's service but my own. And his, I guess," he decided after a split second, motioning towards Shessie briefly. That was more or less true, really. They were together because they simply didn't know anyone else in this world. Plus, there was that strange happening with Shessie and his soul (essentially; Rei wasn't quite sure how else to put it) being split into different parts or whatever. If he remembered correctly, they were almost finished collecting all of the pieces, but in his experience, the last thing was always the hardest. Oh well--they'd cross that bridge when they came to it.

...Well. Speak of the devil. And Rei almost meant that in a literal way, considering the stranger that had suddenly appeared was the silhouette of...hang on, a human?

Shessie caught on only a split second before Rei did, and when the figure began to dash away, the Gallade needed no urging from the cat. Rei was vaguely amused that he had caught up to Shessie in only a few long strides, as the cat had relatively short legs and could not run very fast, especially in comparison to him. Without breaking stride, Rei bent over and scooped up Shessie, holding him firmly in the crook of his left arm while his right prepared to extend the sword from its elbow. Not yet, though--that would only increase air resistance and reduce his speed. Not by much, but it was still something, and Rei had never been one to waste energy. As he raced past Kangaskhan Storage, he noted he was gaining on the silhouette, but he wanted to know: "Shessie, which one is it this time?"

Shessie was a tad agitated to be scooped up by Rei, but got over it pretty fast. Besides, this as fast as he was going to get to his body. He could go only so fast floating, and his legs were pretty small because...well...he was pretty small. Rei's long legs in this form were his best bet at capturing the insane man before them before he began to remember.

Before old habits started to arise. He couldn't help but feel a small bristle in his fur as they caught up. The contract he'd made so many years ago. To have to make it again. He would only hope that the body wouldn't remember that part, and just allow itself to be fooled again. Shessie needed his host without any doubt at all in his mind, and this was the best he was going to get here.

"This is the host body I was using, Rei," he said, and a toothy smile crawled onto his face, "he's our last mark. After we catch him, I'm back to normal, and should be able to find us a way out of here." Should. Sounds very promising.
