Story
The keybearer is dead.
Shock, disbelief, tears--no one wanted to believe it, but reality does not yield. Something existed in the multiverse that Sora couldn't handle, and in the end it had taken his life. New spread swiftly where it could, and even where it couldn't, people with a connection to the boy instantly felt something desperately out of place. Even worse is what killed him--not Heartless, not Nobodies, but a new, darker threat from another realm.
You see, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. For every existence, there is an equal and opposite one. All things have their own reverse--like winter and summer, hot and cold, night and day, joy and sorrow, life and death. Good and Evil, Heaven and Earth, Light and Dark, Everything and Nothing.
For every Dream, there is a Nightmare.
With sleep, naturally, comes dreaming; random assortments of thoughts and images, or even coherent if odd tales, many of them reflections of personal hopes and fears. But delve a little deeper into this mysterious realm of the mind, and one emerges into an entirely new world--one that exists beyond, or perhaps within, dreams, called Fantasia. Like the Waking Realms, there exists a king, here, as well--Morpheus, King of Dreams. However, all is not well in Fantasia, for Nightmares have risen up and overrun the realm.
Heartless are born from hearts consumed by darkness; Nobodies are born from the body and soul that are left behind. Nightmares, however, are none of these things--they are born from our darkest fears, our deepest terrors, the things we fear more than anything else. They can take on almost any form. They had always existed, but were sealed away in the Nightmare Realm, the opposite half of Fantasia, by the powers of the thirteen Sages of Dreams, the keybearers of the Realm of Dreams.
Any breaks in the barrier were small--usually just a few Nightmares, significantly weakened by crossing the seal and relegated to simply plaguing mortals with bad dreams--and escapees were kept in check by Morpheus and his Scepter of Dreams. But the sages were slain by the leader of the Nightmares, and the seal was broken, releasing all of the Nightmares at once.
Chernabog acts as black god of the Nightmare forces, a creature that was long ago sealed at the End of the World, where Sora fought him in a weakened state. However, Chernabog was released in an act of foolishness by Morpheus' heir, at which point he returned to Fantasia to kill the Sages. At his right hand is the witch, Maleficent, reappeared after a long absence wherein she was presumed dead; she serves him to gain power. Working for them is a new Organization with new Nobodies, Neo Organization XIII, along with many of the former members who have been resurrected by the bizarre powers Nightmare Dust. They are promised hearts for their service. The Nightmare forces have moved on to overrunning the Waking Realms--with each world they corrupt, Chernabog grows more powerful. It was in the process of trying to help King Mickey check this invasion that Sora was killed by a Nightmare named Azmodeus. Master Yen Sid, himself from Fantasia, has set up a safe zone around the town and castle of Radiant Garden to keep the Nightmares at bay, but with Sora gone morale is broken.
But not all hope is lost, because the Sages and Sora are still salvageable.
When the thirteen sages were killed, what remained of them in spirit fled Fantasia, and their powers were passed to thirteen individuals in the Waking Realms. Along with this, Morpheus' heir--though responsible for releasing Chernabog--has fled Fantasia as well, with the Scepter of Dreams in hand, and now searches for the Sages. With the Scepter and all thirteen Sages united in the Castle of Dreams, the Nightmares can be sealed once more.
Meanwhile, Sora finds himself in Shibuya District, competing to regain his life in the Reaper's Game. Because of the Nightmares, reality has been bent in many places, causing odd phenomena and fracturing things that were once whole. Because of this, Sora finds himself competing alongside Roxas, his Nobody. Despite the odds stacked against them, the duo managed to survive through the cruel game. Most obstacles out of the way, their journey in the Shibuya District seemed to be coming to an end where they would be granted back their lives. A Nightmare had managed to enter the game, perhaps to end Sora once and for all. The heroes would not have it and though a near defeat, the duo made it through. Thrown to another plane by the defeat of the Nightmare, the final task remained before Sora and Roxas. Defeat the Composer and prove themselves worthy of living in reality once more. Needless to say even the Composer could not stop the keybearer and his Nobody and they were granted their lives once more. Happy as it may sound, Sora is still believed to be dead while thrown into a new strange world.
Admist all the chaos and unknowingly created by Kairi with her love of the once dead keyblader Sora, a dream was born at the worst possible time in Fantasia. With Dream Sora trapped in a Nightmare controlled kingdom Chernabog seized the oppurtunity to corrupt the boy. Brought about nearly as a blank slate the task wouldn't prove impossible to do as the Dream, given the name Aros by the NIghtmare King himself, was passed on to Azmodeus to teach him the ways of the Nightmares. Now the hunt for the Sages continues with a new player for the Nightmare Army.
Unbeknownst to the individuals who received the powers of the Sages, they have become the tipping point in a conflict that spans multiple realms. If they die, the Nightmares win. If they can fully gain control of their abilities, they can destroy the Nightmares. Sora, meanwhile, has to try to return and help his comrades struggling against the Nightmare invasion.
Plenty of pressure, but then, when has it ever been easy?

Somebody can't spell COMPELS, but it is hilarious and you know it.
The Code
Scuttlefluff
This is a literate RP, so you have to use proper grammar and spelling, and two line posts are not sufficient. This doesn't mean you have to write novels every single post, and we won't be snobs about it, but show us you have some roleplaying experience and know how to write. It is considered polite to match the post length of whoever you're roleplaying with, so be fair to the other folks and put forth some effort.
...And then he was smashed by giant cheese.
No. Just no. Some things aren't really god-mode, but auto-hitting takes all the fun out of fights. Also, try not to go damsel-in-distress much, because if she has to rescue multiple unconscious females repeatedly, or we'll have Saphy send your character up in a huge spontaneous fire explody-death.
It's the Hash-slinging Slasher!
No Yaoi or Yuri, plox. Please be respectful--since we had a friend from the last RP in a homosexual relationship in RL (I'm pretty sure he's still in it), and he managed to respect this rule just fine, coming in and screaming that we are homophobes is not an effective argument and will get you blacklisted.
This is how to be made of WIN
We are not your parental units. We do not mandate every little plot twist and event you go through--we only sets the stage then make sure you follow the rules so everybody else can also enjoy themselves. It's your job to come up with ideas for twists and events and stuff for your individual characters--be creative, and don't be afraid to speak up with an idea!
We figured they were more like....guidelines.
Anyway, this little section isn't all-encompassing; anything not addressed here is left up to the discretion of Saphy, Az, or Veri-Berry. Generally, we'll try to be nice and treat you with the utmost respect, and we hope you'll return the favor. But again, we have to draw the line somewhere--sometimes people go over the top. Anyway, title your PM Resurrection and send it to this account, RE- Symphonic Nightmare.

The Characters
This is not an all-encompassing list of characters. If a character isn't listed here, such as Simba or Sephiroth or someone like that, simply request them--if we wrote them all down it would be a lot of wasted effort, because nobody's going to play all of them. We'll add characters as people take their roles. Canons do not require a profile, just request. Also, other than canons and sages, there will be no other keyblade wielders, so please do not send me profiles with them. Canon characters who do not already wield a keyblade and have hearts, for example Hayner, Pence, or Olette, can be Sages--but not Nobodies or Heartless. Also to clarify on this rule, Canons who would be taking up a Sage position may not be the main protagonist of their world. Keeping true to the KHverse, it would be catastrophic to remove the main protagonist from their world. In the guide you will find basic information on the powers of the Sages. On the subject of Xion, the original roleplay started before she was dubbed for the Americans, so we never really incorporated her into the story; however if you would desperately like to play her, PM Az or Saphy and we can make up some moopoo to let you do that. We like making people happy as much as possible, even if it means loads of pairing drama later. 8D

Profile Skeleton
Yes--here is the profile skeleton, the part you've all been waiting for. Don't go overboard and give me, like, a biography detailing every moment of your character's life from start until now--it's simply unnecessary, and honestly, who wants to spend that much time working on (or reading) a profile? We all want to get straight to the important stage: the actual writing. So just give us the main details of the character's life, give us enough to go on, and you should be fine. (If it's painfully short, though, don't be surprised if we ask for more; a character's biography also serves as a sample of your writing. The same goes, though on a far lesser scale, for the personality.)
Once accepted, you post your OC's profile in the profile thread, which is linked up in the top post.

She had endured quite a heavy hit, pretty much so worthless to the fight entirely. Her weapons were far too weak, arrows? A sword? Against a monster whose skin seemed to apparently be impenetrable to her weapons? Sure a few arrows had stuck into his back, but it didnt even faze him so much as agitate the monster. All to the point that he'd retaliated swiftly and deadly. Laying on the cold stone ground she felt that she couldn't move, perhaps her body was in shock as her pierced shoulder felt like it was on fire yet the rest of her felt like she was submerged in icy water. With eyes half open and gazing up into the dark and suddenly stormy looking sky above Hyrule, hearing the odd sounds of other monster's breaking the walls of the city. She felt so tired...her warm blood pooling beneath her body as her eyes began to slowly close. It felt nice despite it all and her thoughts were fading away...perhaps she could just fall asleep right here..maybe it was all just a dream and she was about to wake up.Or maybe this was all real and she was about to take in her last breath.
The lull of the nightmares cries almost seemed inviting, tempting her to forget about it all and simply sleep there forever. The sounds of battle though, the sounds of those traveler's fighting in vain to try and save themselves against that thing. It jarred her back to reality if only for a moment as the fair female traveler had come to her side, she couldn't understand exactly what she was saying...everything began to sound like rushing water before everything grew dark. Was it the end now?
Luckily...not just yet for her. She was severly wounded as was the fair female traveler, but with what the girl had left of her magic she was able to heal the both of them just to the point of staying alive. Toyah wouldn't be able to thank the girl or apologize for shoving her sword into her face, she was out after that just as the World Worm had broken through the dark clouds above the City, directly over Hyrule Castle. Of course she didn't see that, shortly after the fair female had cast the healing spell the world began to shake beneath them, the disruption of the Nightmares invading the area putting tremendous strain upon the world. The result? She was cast from her home before the monster had a chance to completely end her, sent to a worldperhaps just as terrifying as it was in a perpetual nightmarish state. Halloween Town.
She'd wake up a couple of hours later within a graveyard so light headed from the blood loss and worse...alone...unable to even notice the new garments that came along with the territory.

It was almost a refreshing bout to fight so quickly again after just another, especially with more of those keybearer's. They had multiplied rather quickly...it seemed out of every four at least two wielded them. He couldn't complain though..the more of them there were the more he could kill while free of the prison he had once been within. The beast had just taken out one of the annoyances, that sword wielding girl..the native of this world. He didn't bother to mess with her again, at least not until her other little friends were over with first. It seemed like that wouldn't be long, though the male keyblader was a slippery one, certainly he had seen a battle or two himself and that other girl had taken off somewhere as his attention was set against the current better fighter for the moment. Then there was that loudmouth spiky haired kid...all it took was one wrong move. It looked like a dire situation as the two males were quickly growing tired against the relentless Nightmare. That's when the moment came and another deadly hit was landed just as the blonde haired youth made a terrible mistake.
In the way of the huge monster, what would have been a sneak attack from the side to take out one of his wings didn't exactly go as planned for the Sage. The monster caught the movement out of the corner of his eye just as he broke the silvery haired boy's guard, knocking him off his balance to buy him those few seconds he needed to take out the future Sage. It was a quick turn as the beast swung his tail and slammed it against the boy's leg with a sickening crunch. The impact so hard it broke the leg it had impacted as his tail swept out from under him, thekid writhing in pain and now crippled himself in a deadly fight. Hitting the stone ground with a hard thud, weapons flying from his hands, the boy hardly had a moment to look up before the beast was upon him. It was too late for any of the fighter's to help, the beast's thick and sharp claws slicing through the back of the boy's head with little trouble. Setting his foot at the center of the boy's back the beast jerked his hand back, ripping the male's head straight from his shoulder's with almost no effort.
With that kill he didn't seem to care for the other keyblader at the moment, unable to notice his escape as well as the two female's that had been in the group. With the once to be Sage of Dusk dead, decapitated head easily fitting into his hand the beast began to slowly put pressure upon it until the skull of the boy collapsed within his palm. Growling faintly as the blood seeped between his fingers and down his arm, tail piercing through the limp body of the boy as he lifted it up. Sharp eyes observed the scene as the other's seemed to have scattered, baring fangs slightly as he moved to take a huge chunk of flesh out of the dead Sage. This was something he would have savored to have done to the keyblader Sora, ripping the boy's body to pieces and devouring the flesh like a savage animal as he feasted for the moment, eating the torso of the dead Sage hollow. Tossing what little was left of the unrecognizable corpse to the side once he was done with the small snack, the Nightmare looked up to the sky while licking his bloodied fangs clean.
"Hn...you are getting rather fat worm..."
He hissed under his breath as the World Worm settled itself over what he guessed was a castle there set to the center of this little town. For now he seemed to have done enough, and perhaps it prompted a little break. Then again..his work was never done, not until all those Sages were done with. To keep killing them was an incredibly fun sport...and it was truly a game that would never cease to end until all the world's were thrown into the graspof the Nightmares. The souls of those Sages constantly leaving and finding a new host after the former was killed, as long as they kept them running in such a way they were unstoppable. Then again...he was the one doing alot of the work, then that fat old worm would come in when he cleared things out. What a lazy thing...anyway...it was time to jump world's again. Perhaps he'd come across another intelligent Nightmare, surely he wasn't the only one around...

What an interesting turn of events as he watched rather unnoticed. Of course with so much darkness around it would be hard to pick him out of the shadow's, save for his gleaming golden eyes. Truly entertaining performance out of both sides...but it looked like it was time for him to get on out himself. Too bad that Nightmare hadn't left behind the body of the boy intact, he could go for a heart right about now. Oh well..this wasn't his kill, he merely been a spectator and rather than make himself known right now the Heartless always chose to observe first. He wanted to see just how volatile this thing could be before foiling anyplans of the Nightmares...if he chose to do that at one point or another. Certainly he would give a little assistance just to snub that seemingly unstoppable Nightmare if it brought a few good laughs. Or he could just go with the winning team through the very end.
The battle, it was still early. He would get to know the player's a little better before things got any more interesting. With that the almost child-like heartless sank into the ground, traveling through the darkness with such ease as he debated where to go this time around. So many places and yet so little time, perhaps he'd just close his eyes and wait until he ran into something. That often lead him somewhere interesting...which is exactly what he did.

❄❄ xx It was hot, sunny, and incredibly dry. The exact kind of climate that Rain simply hated. She always had, even before her ice magic had suddenly become far more powerful, and that was why living in Space Paranoids had been so nice. There was no climate, no weather, no actual temperature, nothing. Actually, there technically hadn't been any moisture, either, so she shouldn't have been able to use her ice magic as it used moisture from the air, but maybe the computer was designed to allow magic. After all, this was Ansem the Wise they were talking about.
But no. Here, it was just hot, dry desert as far as the eye could see, except for the city of Agrabah. But it was just as hot and dry as the desert, really (unless you were inside, where it was cool and dry), so in Rain's eyes, it was not a huge improvement. She was very glad for her usual attire, as it was sleeveless and legless, except that she could not go outside for long because she burned very easily, as she had discovered on her first day here.
Cassim...
Rain shook her head and pushed herself off of the railing of the balcony that was attached to the room of the palace that was acting as a hospital wing right now. People such as herself were still recovering from the attack on the palace a week ago, and to her annoyance, Rain had not been able to help much. She dehydrated faster than anyone else, even inside, and constantly felt drained of energy. It was this world, she knew. Because it had already sucked the life from any rivers and streams that used to run through it, it had to turn to other sources. She was amazed the people could survive here--or maybe it was just her ice affinity. How annoying.
Her skin was slightly tinged with red as she returned inside, her eyes searching the room for Mei or Kairi. because of their ages, Rain guessed, and the fact that they obviously were not from this world, they had sort of become friends, although in all reality, they did not know much about one another. They never really talked about their worlds, their pasts. Anything except that. Which really didn't leave a whole hell of a lot to talk about, but they didn't have much time for socializing anyway. Rain was more useful in the hospital wing than she was elsewhere in the castle or out in the heat, as she could help people to heal. Had this been a place like Port Royal, which was cool and full of moisture, she would have been a lot more useful with rebuilding things that had been destroyed in the battle that had only narrowly been won, along with keeping out any Heartless, Nobodies, or Nightmares that decided to return for another round.
But this wasn't Port Royal. It was Agrabah. And since she couldn't see them being able to leave anytime soon, she was stuck here and had to make the best of it.

Let's hear what's ﹝best﹞ for ﹝you﹞

- A breeze tugged and pulled around him. He was shifting around on a stable surface for sure, but for some reason it felt like he was floating. It was cold, dank, and felt empty. It always felt empty. Why wouldn't it? When you're a nobody, there is nothing to feel. Because unlike the Heartless, you're aware of what you lack. You're aware of what you're missing.
It's nothing visible on the outside, unless you allow it to be, but it was definitely something you were just born being sure of. But you usually try to pretend that isn't the truth. You bury the truth behind a small façade. Although it's rather fake, you begin to believe it. You begin to become what you've created. It's a peaceful distraction, even though that is a bit of an oxymoron, that helps you get through those otherwise shallow days.
This brunette knew all of it. Had thought it over time and time again as one aqua eye cracked open to glare at what was happening. But nothing was. Around him were the cold, stone walls of the Beast's Castle. He seemed to be in the dungeon which was a decent distance to the Beast's Room. Demyx pushed himself off the ground, and dusted off his long black coat briskly. He figured it'd be in his best interests to leave. He decided just to ease his nerves that did not exist; he would keep in character.
"Jeez, this place gives me the creeps..." he rubbed his shoulders and began walking through. He stopped a second when he had a brilliant idea don upon him. "I'll just open a corridor," he said grinning, and snapped his fingers. Nothing appeared. "Eh?" He continued to snap, but no ominous corridor was summoned.
A frown crossed his lips as he examined the walls around him. Something hit him right then. Memories. Wasn't he supposed to be dead? He crumpled over remembering those last moments, remembering having felt something that time. It had been an intense heat burning him up. His death had been so real, but he couldn't make sense of it all. Why was he here? Shouldn't he be gone.
This stumped him and infuriated him more. What in the hell was going on here? He got up again, and eased his serious look. "I don't like doing all this thinking. It feels like work." He knew he had no choice. Besides, this would be a menial task for him. He was better on recovery and scouting missions anyway. "Well, seeing as how I woke up here, there's probably clues. Ugh, have to go around and search this freaky castle then."
So, retracing his steps, he returned to the dark platform, lit dimly by one of the many candelabrum on the wall and scanned for any traces. He decided to take his time. It wasn't like he had anywhere important to go now.

This ride that takes me through life,
Leads me into darkness but emerges into light.
No one can ever slow me down,
I'll stay Unbound.
Leads me into darkness but emerges into light.
No one can ever slow me down,
I'll stay Unbound.

Kairi never questioned why she didn't sunburn easily, she never even questioned why the various skin tones of her friends varied so much back home. There were people like Wakka, with much darker skin, and Riku, with skin nearly translucent, and yet they two spent an equal amount of time out in the sun every single day. It wasn't until she knew about the different worlds that these little thoughts danced across the back of her mind. Maybe she wasn't the only one from a different world... she was just the only one who knew she wasn't born on the islands.
But in this world, where it seemed nearly every resident (other than Genie) had darker skin, questions began to arise about the three strange girls found in the throne room. Kairi herself had been questioned several times, but she was in no mood to answer to any accusations. Jasmine had taken up the helm as some kind of daring big sister, and helped to deter any curious-seekers from berating the girls anymore than they needed to be.
She worried about Kairi's mentality as well. She girl had become very quiet, and despite her demure politeness she showed to even the most aggressive accusations, Jasmine could tell something was wrong with her. Something else was pressing on her mind, but Jasmine wasn't sure if it was her place to even question it. Maybe it was because of their similarities as Princess of Heart, or maybe it was simply her own intuition. She didn't think it was good for Kairi to be around all those suffering and injured in the condition she was in, but Kairi had insisted upon it. And there was no denying her help seemed to speed along the recover of everyone she interacted with.
"Here's some water..." Kairi said, offering a small cut to a portly man as he struggled to sit up. He took it with his good hand and drank greedily, the rivulets of water running down his beard and dripping onto the linens wrapped around his injured arm. He was one of the fortunate, receiving only a gash on his upper arm that had been wrapped to prevent infection. he was being kept in the far corner of the room, since he didn't seem to enjoy anyone's company during his stay. Even Kairi had to be careful not to enrage him.
"These blasted bandages, they itch!" He complained, "They stick to my arm and make it ache, I want new ones!"
He was just upset and afraid, Kairi assured herself, his anger was just to distract him from what had happened, she was sure of it.
"Why don't you try to get some more sleep?" Kairi suggested.
"All I do is lie her and sleep like a lame horse, I want to go!"
"You can't go until you're better though, you might get worse."
"I want the bandages changed now! I will return home and NEVER come back!"
"Well..." Kairi began, "If you go to sleep now, it'll only seem like an instant has passed before your arm is fixed and you can go home. Just lay down and close your eyes, I'm sure you'll start to feel better in no time."
The man wanted to object again, but something about the look in the girl's tired blue eyes kept him from objecting aloud any further. With a disgruntled snort, he settled back down in bed and tried shutting his eyes, a deep scowl still set on his face.
"...Cure," Kairi whispered, her hand held lightly over the injured man's wound. With all the commotion and chatter in the room, he didn't even hear her speak. The wound on his arm, still out of sight, stitched itself back together in no time. The man's scowl made a subtle change to a slight smile, he sighed.
"Ah... you were right, I feel more relaxed already," He told her.
"That's good," Kairi said, taking the empty cup and standing up, "I'll come back later."
"Ah! I would like some more water... please."
"Sure," Kairi said with a smile, "Sleep well."
She found Rain soon afterwords, looking a bit redder after standing in the son. Unlike Riku, her pale skin burned in the sun.
"How are you feeling?" She asked.
