"Don't worry, I'm not asking you to leave with me." Kida said quietly. She couldn't. No matter how badly she want to, she couldn't see him in real life. It would change everything, and not in a good way. He'd see her like everyone else did.
She looked down at her hand upon his. She hadn't thought that the company would be responsible for them. She wondered if that would really work, tho. If all but 2 people from the game were accounted for, that small of a barely negligible decimal of a percentage might be more affordable as collateral damage then sustained medical costs.
She half rolled away from him to lean back in the seat and looked up at the ceiling. She'd forgotten he had contact with them. The outside world. Things seemed to be moving forward so quickly now. Just a day ago they were only level 25 with no end in sight. And she was okay with that. And now they had an AI that could talk to the outside world, were a much higher level, and there were ways to work to getting out - soon. She didn't know if that was better or not. It was closer to Dante's goal, but it seemed to be limiting hers of staying here forever.
"I feel like it's my fault, you know." She said softly. The world still stung a bit to say out loud. "I wished for this. I wished that the game would crash or break so I could just stay here forever. I never planned on leaving. But I didn't mean I wanted my brother trapped here. Or everyone else." She clutched her hands into fists, pulling away from him. "I wanted this, and all it's done is cause people pain."
