xxxxxxxxx Ⱥshura...The Kishin sleeping beneath the DWMA had been destroyed. A young student by the name of Maka had slain the monster on her own accord. It marked a key point in history, not only for the DWMA but for the world: the greatest threat to existence had been extinguished. The madness crawled back into the cracks of the earth, metaphorically speaking, where it rightfully belonged. The most powerful force next to Lord Death had been extinguished from existence. The word 'Kishin' no longer held a sense of doom. The taboo of this word vanished, for a new light was shining.

xxxxxxxxx Ⱦhe DWMA had reached a new peak in its glory. The forces that opposed the civilized world, witches, corrupt souls, ghouls and the like, trembled in fear. Few would ever summon the courage to slither from behind a rock and make their presence known. The newly displayed power and achievement of the DWMA was a threat no one witch dared to face. This marked the beginning of a golden age for the DWMA and for Lord Death. For twenty years the DWMA maintained the peace under Lord Death's rule, carrying their victory over the Kishin as their crowning achievement. At the end of these twenty years, however, there was an appropriate turn. Lord Death approached the point he always knew would arrive. It was time for his heir, Death the Kid to take over.

xxxxxxxxx Death the Kid had proven himself worthy over time. He successfully managed to turn his weapons into Death Scythes, providing him with his ideal mates: symmetrical in every way. He took down witches, corrupt souls and ghouls alike in the name of peace, prosperity...and symmetry. Now, it was time for him to take his rightful place as the new Lord Death. For that to happen, Lord Death would have to move on, and allow his position to be filled. He knew what had to be done.

xxxxxxxxx ζord Death performed his own "soul release," which under normal circumstances, specifically with witches, would magnify his power. However, Lord Death years ago had done something very unique: he bound his soul to Death City. With nothing grounding his soul, and a new Death ready in the wings, Lord Death faded from existence, his power supposedly vested in Death the Kid. His presence gone, Death the Kid assumed his new title, Lord Death, though he occasionally becomes referred to as Lord Death the Kid to distinguish him from his father. Some say Lord Death's soul can still be felt within the city, as though a weak remnants of him still lingers in the world. This claim, however, is only a legend.

xxxxxxxxx Ʉnder Lord Death the Kid a reign even stricter than that of his father's pursued. Not only was the pursuit of witches a part of becoming a Death Scythe, but witches were blatantly hunted down and slaughtered. They were vermin and viewed with nothing but contempt by Lord Death the Kid, his Meisters and Weapons. It was a witch that revived the Kishin, a witch that had infiltrated the DWMA and it was a witch, in the eyes of Lord Death the Kid, that was to blame for all the troubles in the world. Kishin fell to legends, one being incapable of created under the new regime.

xxxxxxxxx Ⱦwenty Years...that's how long the witches were persecuted under the rule of the new "God." Vengeance and blood spilled across the lands, the point being not peace but extermination. Thus, fifty years after the death of Ashura, the witches knew it was time to rise. They feared this "God" for too long. A powerful wizard by the name of Alexander Virum gathered witches and wizards in secret. The time had come to strike back, to dethrone this "God." Whispers of his intent spread from witch to witch, some deciding to join in his crusade whereas others remained under their rocks. The plots of the past would not be enough. To properly end this terror once and for all, he knew what had to be done...and the servants of the "Old God" would be the ones to do it. They plotted in secret, under the radar of Lord Death the Kid and his companions. But Now...It was Time...

What Fate shall befall a world divided...Who has God on their side?

I understand if you have a touch of writer’s block or there is not much for you to respond to, but try not to make short posts a habit. Also, grammar and spelling are important! No one wants to try and decipher what you are saying through bad spelling and terrible grammar. If you don’t have spell check, then find an online dictionary or ask someone who has spell check to run it through theirs. You will be kicked out if you fail to meet literacy standards. ◢

◤ Keep things pretty clean, please! Cussing is allowed, but don’t use a curse word in every sentence. Since this is a fighting roleplay let’s remember not to get overly graphic with some stuff. If you are killing a person, don’t get into how their guts looked on the floor or whatnot. This isn’t really a romance rp, though some of it is welcome. It wouldn’t be a story without some kind of romance, I suppose. Just keep that clean too, alright. Always keep the Gaia ToS in mind. ◢

◤ Okay, so here it goes. Remember that no canon heroes exist in this roleplay. I‘m talking about Soul, Maka, and the others in the manga/anime. All weapons, meisters, and witches are to be original characters! The only characters who will be returning is Lord Death the Kid and his weapons. Maybe Excalibur, if someone is mean enough to want to play him.

Now, as for original characters. Pretty much anything goes. Your character can be from anywhere in the world you want them to be from. When it comes to being a weapon or meister you don't necessarily have to be good. Same goes for witches, except you don't have to be bad. You could be a spy, or even a 'free agent'. There really isn't any limitation. We encourage twists and turns in the plot line, but please make sure you keep Kari_Travers and Dark Lord Oblivion, informed of your plans. ◢

◤ Stay active, please! We all have lives outside of Gaia, but don’t post once and never come back. Don’t join if you can’t keep up with the pace of the story. So, please try and post 2-4 times per week. We all know how frustrating it is to be held up by one person not posting. Of course, you won’t be booted for not being able to post for one or two days. Just give us some warning or remove your character from any active conversations with more than one other person for extended absences. ◢

◤ There will be NO Godmodidng, auto-hitting or power playing here, alright? If your character is new to fighting then obviously he/she will not be beating someone like Lord Death right away. Also, if there are two characters of debatably equal powers going head-to-head I want a good battle to take place. Not just a bunch of dodging and blocking. People need to take hits, alright! Nobody’s character is invincible, got that? Be inventive and, if you need to, discuss who is going to win before a fight takes place. If you want to be extra cool and just fight it out and see who is the better that way, then that is fine. Just don’t take twenty posts to come to a conclusion. Bad guy or not, be honorable and concede to defeat when it comes. No whining!

Another important point I want to make is that no one is to kill another character without permission. Also, do not run off with another person’s character without permission either. So, if you are unsure if what you are doing is godmodding then just don’t do it, or ask permission.

There is a unique issue that does need to be addressed here. With the way Weapons and Meisters fight, the Weapon is going to have to be okay with some form of godmodding. If you are a weapon, you will have to be okay with your partner controlling you in battle. That's not to say you can't change back to human form or yell your head off at them while in weapon form. But just remember, if your Meister can't take control of you during battles then you are going to lose that battle. ◢

◤ Make your posts look nice, please. No bright colors that people will have to highlight to read or giant pictures that stretch the page. Use small fonts like 9 to 11, nothing smaller or bigger. Put all thoughts in 'italics+color'. Use “Color” for speech. And use 'italic' for writing. We want pictures, quotes and all the other good bits in your post outlines. Include something that states where your character is, which side they are on, and some other things like status and mood. ◢

If your sample is less than four paragraphs I won't even bother reading it. Your application will automatically be denied. If you have been sent a request to join the roleplay then, obviously, you are not required to send a sample writing. Once you reserve a character, the profile is due within 2-3 days.
