Hildr flicked a blue eyed look to the Imperial, frowning as she regarded him.
"Ah. Another Imperial who thinks he's smarter than a Nord. Fantastic. Tell me, Imperial, how is it that you lot managed to bungle up the war against the Thalmor so badly? Why is it now illegal to worship Tiber Septim? And while we're on the topic of Imperial wisdom, what makes you think I am Dragonborn?"

Mordred was shocked and a little nervous as she started talking, he gulped in anxiety. "I... I didn't mean it like that I swear... I meant no disrespect towards you or any other Nord. I was just pointing out the fact that I'm a scholar to a point..." He bowed his head in apology to her before he continued on to her next question "And to be perfectly fair, I don't consider myself Imperial, my mother, being Redguard and my father, being Imperial, both gave me up and sent me here because I was too much trouble... so I've lived my whole life in Skyrim. I strongly consider myself a true son of Skyrim for the most part, despite my blood..." He lowered his head and bit into something that was hanging around his neck and pulled up an Amulet of Talos, dropping it so it bounced off his chest. "I personally think that the outlawing of worship was completely unnecessary... though I find myself wondering why they would do that in the first place unless they had some sort of plan behind it..."

Mordred lowered his gaze as she asked him about how he knew her to be dragonborn. "I'm not really sure how I knew you were dovahkiin, I sort of just... sensed it, that's the best way I could think to describe it, and then you didn't exactly deny being dragonborn... so you are, right? I'm not just going crazy, am I?" He lifted his head back up slowly to look at her for when she responded to his answers

"If you were a true son of Skyrim, you wouldn't be choking bards and riding undead horses, would you?" Hildr growled, eyes turning back to infront of her as she resumed picking her way through the forest. "And if you bvelieved in anything that pendant stood for, you'd be out here with a weapon, not your bloody witchcraft. As for sensing Dragonborn, I think you're as crazy as a khajiit on skooma. After seeing what you did to first a man singing about the Dragonborn, and what you did to someone who you only suspected of being an actual Dragonborn, if there was another outside Ulfric Stormcloak they certainly wouldn't tell you they were."

Mordred sighed at her replies, honestly expecting something like that, but not nearly so harsh. Then again she was a Nord... he lifted a hand up and tucked his Amulet of Talos back into her shirt to avoid any conflict with traveling Thalmor. He groaned a little underneath his breath as he continued to walk with her, they had to be getting pretty close to where the giants were camped out. He could already smell the mammoths from here, at least he hoped those were the mammoths. Mordred decided it'd be best to avoid talking for a while, being she seemed incredibly miffed at him at the moment. Why did he have to go all crazy back at the Inn before, gah, he always seemed to find some way to mess up the simplest things.

Sir Toman Blake ❂ Knight-Errant

It had been quite the journey, but Toman had finally found opportunities to demonstrate heroism. The sort of thing he was looking for. Near the border of The Pale, he had found a group of displaced farmers, their homes destroyed, or made uninhabitable, by the fighting. They wanted to travel to the local capital, Dawnstar, for safety. Unfortuanately, there wasn't a proper warrior between them, so they had been moving slowly, hiding from bandits and monsters as often as they travelled. When they met, Toman had offered to escort them to the city, before heading back to Whiterun.

The small group made their way through the city with only minor interference. A few bandits who Toman had scared off with ease, a troll that he had to put down. Nothing fancy. "So" Toman started "Why not come with me back to Whiterun? It is closer to where I found you, and I assume your farms. We could head that way now, it's a safer trip." one of the men chuckled as Toman asked his question.

"Not with The Legion poking around that city. Some of our sons and daughters are with the Stormcloaks. They might cause trouble for us if they went there. Dawnstar is on our side, and I have family there who might take some of us in, at least help us resettle. It's the best option." Toman had to agree with that logic. He wouldn't want to lead them into an even more dangerous city.

As they were crossing through the snow covered foothills, Toman heard a soft noise beyond one of the foothills. Voices... More bandits, possibly. He would have to investigate, he raised a hand brining the party to a halt and whispered "Stay here, and stay silent. There is something over that hill, I'm going to check it out. I'll call you if it's safe." he bolted up the hill to find a small party on the other side.

A dark Imperial man in dressed black and red, looked to be slightly younger than Toman himself. He couldn't figure out much about him at first glance. Very inconspicuous. Unarmed, it seemed. Strange in such dangerous parts. A woman, obviously a Nord, and as local as they came. He could make out what looked like Amulet of Talos on her... A good sign. If she followed Talos, it was unlikely that she would trouble the family of Stormcloaks. Very honorable bunch, Talos worshipers. The last was a... child? Something was strange about her. She was too comfortable for a girl of that age. She was accompanied by two adults, one a rather fierce looking warrior, but it was more than a lack of childish fear or excitement. Her stance was off... And her eyes.... There was something strange about them, something he recognized.... he couldn't be positive, he would have to get a closer look to be sure....

Well, it didn't matter. He had tangled with that sort back in High Rock... He'd just have to keep her away from the refugees... Make sure they weren't followed as they moved on.

"A rather strange band to be wandering about The Pale." he called down to the group from the top of the small hill, speaking in a confident tone. "What brings you to these parts? Nothing nefarious, I hope?" His hand was placed gently on the pommel of his silver longsword, ready to draw it if they were bandits... or worse.

OCC I do hope it is ok that Toman thinks Juliana is a Vampire. I just figure that he has fought one or two of the many Vampire Clans from High Rock and is somewhat familiar with them. The eye thing I base on the fact that in most of the Elder Scrolls game Vampirism brings a snazzy ocular change. If any of that is a problem, I can edit it.

Hilda's last rebuttal to Mordred seemed to silence him, which was good because it seemed that the man had two modes: sinister and sycophant. The former did not impress her, and the latter was just annoying. How did these two at all believe they could take on six giants at once?
Just then, a man in full armor atop a hill started shouting at them, demanding to know what they were on about.
"Who are you to question us?" Hildr demanded. "You are not one of the Jarl's men! Our affairs are our own!"

Mordred practically jumped out of his skin when he heard a new voice from above, at first he feared a dragon, until he actually looked and saw a human in some armor he'd never seen before. He couldn't help but notice the man had his hand on his sword, he growled, not liking that act of aggression one little bit. He gently picked Juliana off his shoulders and sat her down, moving in front of her to protect her if this guy tried anything. He glanced over to Hildr when she spoke and asked "Not a friend of yours? So should I be a little concerned..." He quickly returned his gaze back to the man on the hill, his own facial expression turning into that one of a hostile rather quickly.

Something was making his hands itch to throw a fireball for some reason, most of the time Mordred trusted his instincts. "Its only polite to tell us what you're doing in these parts first, since we live here and you're clearly an outsider!" He called back to the man and that's when he saw it as a cloud moved to just the right angle for a shimmer to come off the stranger's sword, it was silver. Mordred suddenly glared at the man and clenched his teeth, was this guy a monster hunter like the Silverhand?

He chuckled at the remark about his being an outsider. "Keen eye, stranger. I'm not from around here by any measure of the word." he said in a pleasant tone. There was a world of difference between the people of Skyrim and High Rock, as well as their respective cultures. He must have been making that quite apparent. "Although, the bandits I ran into earlier were locals as well, I assume. It doesn't mean they were any less of a threat. Although they weren't much for conversation." he chuckled as he said this. Still, it would be polite to introduce himself, and there was little harm they could do with that.

"I am Sir Toman Blake, a knight from the city of Daggerfall, in High Rock. I am protecting some farmers in this area. Now, what are you doing here?" he said, keeping his eyes on the girl; being cautious not to mention the proximity of the refuges until he was certain it was safe. The man was treating her like a parent would a child, but he was too young to fill such a role. Perhaps a brother? There was some resemblance. Of course he could be a thrall... He had heard of such creatures helping their masters maintain very ornate illusions to protect their identity.

"Surely you wouldn't mind sharing. After all, if you aren't causing trouble, I am sure you have nothing to hide."

He was more curious about the man now than he had been earlier. Although Toman couldn't learn as much about him from his appearance, there was a certain aggression to his tone. Perhaps he did have some connection to the girl, and was trying to protect her. Or perhaps he was just a violent brute. He couldn't be sure yet.

"I am Hildr Talosdottr, and I am out here to slay Giants!" Declared Hildr to the Breton. "These two apparently believe they can do likewise and so have decided to follow me. If you wish to protect those farmers you claim to be shielding, then tell them to stay away from Tumble Arch Pass. An entire band of Giants have encamped there and the Jarl wishes them gone! There is an Inn near here to the north, the Nightgate. Seek it out and from there you can find a safer place for your refugees to go!"

Mordred glanced away from the man to look over at Hildr as she spoke, it seemed like she didn't for this guy either. Good, he wasn't the only one then, he didn't like the vibe he got from this armored fellow in the slightest. He moved his eyes around the area quickly, just to make sure there wasn't anything fishy going on, like they were being surrounded by this guy's friends or something. Once he was sure nothing funny was happening around them, he returned his attention to the armored man. Reaching back and putting a hand on Juliana's shoulder to make sure she was still there and safe behind him. "Now let us pass or is there some other reason you've stopped us... 'knight-boy'!" Mordred called up to the man on the horse, almost tauntingly

Aye, the Woman was a true Nord. Everything she said was dripping with their ways. Coarse, straight to the point, and honourable. He was still highly suspicious of the child and her keeper. Although if they were out hunting giants, they didn't behave like the typical vampires. At least, not the sort from High Rock. Although it was curious that the man did not identify himself. Bah, it hardly mattered at this point. "A pleasure to meet you, Hildr Talosdott. Perhaps our paths will cross again." He turned back to the group and said "It's alright. Just a band of mercenaries hunting monsters, it seems. Let's keep moving, I can probably get you to Dawnstar within the day, if we make good pace."

As he spoke, the refugees came over the hill, and Toman gently whipped the reigns of his horse, urging it forwards. As his party passed by the mercenaries, he kept his hand close to his weapon. It was unlikely that anything was going to happen, the other man seemed to want him gone, more than anything else; and he was quite content with that arrangement.

"Take care of yourself, Nord." he said softly as he passed "Giants are very dangerous." he smiled at the man and the girl he was sticking so close to taking a careful glance at the girl as he passed. It was still hard to tell, if a Vampire kept well fed, it became much harder to distinguish them from ordinary people. He was quite certain, but so long as she didn't cause trouble for the farmers, he didn't care. At least not for now.

With another quick whip of the reigns, he was off at a quick trot, moving along beside the group of refugees. "So long." he called back to the man. "Do take care of that little thing." He accentuated the last word enough that it would be apparent what he meant, if his assumptions were correct; but simply sound strange, or patronizing, if he was mistaken. "It's very dangerous in these parts. What with the war and all. No place for a child. Even one who is comfortable hunting giants."

Hildr nodded to the man as she watched him lead the refugees on, watching until they had disappeared over a hill.
Sound advice. She thought as she briefly glanced at the two mages in tow. Apparently I'm not the only one who suspects something's off with these two. The sooner we get rid of these giants the sooner I can be rid of them.
Adjusting her nordic helmet, Hildr then drew her bow and pressed on into the snow, moving in the direction of the smell of mammoths.

Night had onset as Joseph gazed across the camp toward the city of Whiterun. Walking to the entrance, he relieved one of his comrades of guard duty and he took his place. "The Jarl is taking too much time", said his comrade. As Joseph turned to reply, an arrow zipped past his face and into his friend's shoulder. "AMBUSH!!!" Joseph screamed. Eight men had rushed from their tents and with bows drawn began to open fire on the ambush unit. Joseph unsheathed Breagiar and dashed toward the Brigand with 4 others. After a Furious battle, Joseph fought face to face with the bandit chief. He was a big hefty Orc with a battleaxe that could knock a giant to its knees and beg for mercy. Ordering his men to retreat to the camp, Joseph would face the chief alone. Standing there, Blade drawn, Joseph Inhaled, then closed his eyes, exhaled then with a quick movement, He swung toward the Bandit, who had jumped out of the way, and narrowly missed him. The Chief Brought his axe down on Joseph's sword then head-butted him. stumbling back a bit, Joseph swung his sword, landing a blow on the chief's right leg. Falling in pain, he began to beg for his life. "You have attack Imperial legionnaires, injuring 3 of them and you expect me to bed and feed you, then you are horrible mistaken." Joseph bickered. "You will die an honorable death, that is the best I can give you." Kicking the Battleaxe back to the chief, Joseph waited for him to stand up. As soon as he did, with one great swing, the Bandit Chief's head went rolling. Walking back to check on the injured, one needed to have an arm amputated. Joseph waited outside of a tent, hearing the screams of his men, friend, comrade made him furious. He Stormed out of the fort and wandered to Whiterun. While in Whiterun, he went to the local tavern to have a few drinks. Sitting at the bar, Joseph Mutters "Give me the Strongest drink you have and keep them coming." After around 12 drinks, Joseph was beyond wasted, as he tried walking out the door he tripped and lay passed out on the floor.

Eriik Valheir
Whiterun Guard

It had been a day like most others where Eriik had gone around the farms outside the hold for his daily patrol. Now all that was left was to do a usual run inside Whiterun. He made his way down the main gates and walked by the open tavern when he noticed another guard wave him over. Eriik walked over curious on what the problem could be until he gazed down near the entrance and shook his head with a slight laugh. "Guy just fell flat suddenly and hasn't moved since. I heard the impact all the way out here." The guard told him. Eriik shook his head a bit and looked over at the barkeeper. "Did he cause any trouble?" Eriik said but the barkeep just shook her head and told him he just took a little too many. "Little too many? Sleeping potions maybe..." He joked and walked with the other guard near the man who was passed out on the floor. Eriik put his hands on his hips and gave the man a slight kick to the side. "Hey buddy, you alright?" He asked just to make sure the guy wasn't as good as a tomato at this point.

Joseph Felt something hitting his side, but he just thought he was dreaming. suddenly he felt a sharp pain in his stomach, most likely from all the drinks and someone kicking him too. Joseph sits up fast looks around, trying to stand he mutters "What time of day is it guardsman, huh?" Finally regaining his stance he runs towards the door and does want any hungover drunk man would do... he lost his composer outside of the tavern. Turning back to the inn he walks over to the guard, he feels as though he has heard that voice before. "Whats your name guardsman?" Looking at this man, Joseph could tell that he was no ordinary guard, something about this man made him wonder. "Hey, Guardsman, you aren't from around Whiterun are you?" Joseph still trying to stay awake, stumbles over to the bar and sits down, he orders a mug of water. after receiving it, he splashed it in his face and looked towards the guards.
