Sailor Moon: Darkness Within (O/A CANNONS ONLY!)

At the first signs of trouble, Ami made a mad dash for Setsuna's minivan. Nobody seemed to really pay her any notice, and she wasn't actually running away. How could she, a personal protector of Usagi, do that in a good conscience, anyway? Exactly. Her intent was to grab Setsuna's laptop, which she recalled was still running. She, too, felt that something was off, and after Minako's erratic behavior, she decided to quickly investigate. To her avail, the minivan was still unlocked. She assumed that Setsuna forgot after the messy turn of events. With swiftness, aware of the shouting upstairs, Ami grabbed the laptop in the passenger seat and opened up the program that analyzed atmospheric levels. Her mouth almost dropped upon reading the numbers being returned. She put the laptop back on the seat and began typing commands furiously, making sure the numbers she read were correct. After recallibrating, Ami pulled back in shock at the still-rising number of disturbances. Determined to warn the others, she grabbed the open laptop with one hand, slammed the van door with the other, and sprinted back upstairs. Out of breath and worried that the Senshi would be out of time before the attack, she only yelled, "Something's coming... Big!!" before stopping to catch her breath and relish in the presence of 'Andromeda...' she thought, eyes widening in more shock. This was becoming serious fast.

The pink haired child's gaze went over to Usagi. In the blink of an eye Minako was attacking Usagi. "Minako-chan!" the child yelled. She turned back to Mamoru. "Mamo-chan do something!" She couldn't believe what was happening. Minako, one of their best friends and guardians was attacking their princess. Then something else happened, shocking the child. Outai transformed before their eyes, becoming Sailor Andromeda in an instant. The girl shook her head, she had to help her future mother, though before she could Outai and Setsuna were trying to get the blonde off of Usagi. As Setsuna succeeded in getting Usagi away from Minako, the girl ran to Usagi and Setsuna's side. "Plu! "
Suddenly she felt the same fear she had at her school a week ago. But the child didn't have time to dwell on this, as people began to emerge from the trees around the shrine shrine. Wait. They weren't exactly walking, it seemed more like they were dragging themselves. They looked just like her classmates, the ones that had been tainted. "Oh no..." Chibiusa muttered. It seemed like there was just as many people coming after them, gaining speed and surrounding the group. Seeing as how Outai had already transformed in front of them, Chibiusa felt it no longer mattered if she didn't know that they were senshi.
She held up her locket, "Moon Crisis Make-up!" Pink light engulfed the child, surrounding her as it formed the white bodice of her senshi uniform. Hearts surrounded her, forming her white skirt with a gold and pink trim as well as her pink shoulder flap. Red ribbons wrapped up her arms and legs, forming her gloves and boots. Finally, two red gems appeared, covering her rabbit buns, with two white feathers on each formed. Once the light faded, the girl who stood there was Super Sailor Chibimoon.
"Plu! There's more of them!"

Sailor Saturn paused at the base of the shrine. There was a smirk on her face as those she'd infected scrambled up the stairs. She could sense that another powerful soul had been tainted, which was good. Very good. Well in her opinion it was. Glaive in hand, the young senshi began to walk up the stairs slowly. She would allow for her new found minions to do some damage before doing something herself. After all, with all her power, if she did do anything all her fun would be over far too quickly. This was however an achievement for the taint, taking over the senshi of destruction. Not even Sailor Andromeda could save this soul, even if it had been sealed away rather than destroyed.
Her smirk turned into a full blown grin as she heard the pink haired child say "There's more of them!" in a frightened tone. She held her glaive at a slant so the blade would not be visible between the crowd of people. Standing at the top of the stairs, she watched as the tainted humans began to attack her friends.

Mamoru smiled at Chibiusa. Usgai was always flunking courses and avoided studying at all costs so everyone always tried to push her forward by teasing her more. And with the teasing, Usgai usually did better than anticipated. "Of course we can. I haven't seen Hotaro-chan in a while, so I don't see why not," he said happily to her. He laughed at how Chibiusa laughed; she was just so precious. But those people were not. Mamoru blinked. Who were they and why did they look so...posessed. like zombies. He wasn't sure what was happening but pressed Chibiusa closer to him maybe there was some sort of protest against them temple? Hey anything was possible. He heard a cry from behind him and he gasped as his head swirled around to see Usgai gasping for air as Minako strangled her.

"Usgai!" he cried, perplexed. But just as he jumped up, pulling Chibiusa with him, suddenly he heard a Sailor cry. It was Tabibito-san! She was...a Sailor Scout?! Well she was one he'd never seen, but he heard a name...Andromeda. Who was...? Mamoru had no time to think on it futher because the weird people proceeding up the stairs were nearly upon them, since he and Chibiusa were the closest to them since they were the one sitting on the temple stairs. It was great that Tabibito was a Senshi; now Mamoru didn't have to hide what he was about to even though he was quite skilled at being mysterious. Sentuna was busy pulling Minako off Usgai. Good; now he could also worry about Chibiusa. "That does it," he said, reaching into his pocket. He produced a rose and was beginning to concentrate, when he heard someone call his name. He looked back and smiled. It was Setsuna, calling to him, to do his job. He nodded at her and looked forward.

Then Mamoru transformed into Tuxedo Mask where he was better suited to protect all the Sailor Senshi. He smiled and looked at the zombie-people. "I don't know who or what you are, but I ask you in the name of justice to stop!" he said confidently, his long black-red cape flowing behind him. They of course did not. So Tuxedo Mask reached down and plucked the pink haired girl from her feet before jumping backwards from the stairs a good distanced, but to where the Sailor Senshi were still behind him. He set Chibiusa down and stepped in front her. As if by magic, a hand full of roses appeared in his hand. "I asked you once to stand down," he said loudly, "But now I will have to stop you myself!" He threw the set of roses to the people, and a piece of clothing became caught by his rose to the concret. "That will hold them long enough for us to form a plan, Sailor Senshi," he announced, knowing fully well that his roses would do just that. But he produced a hand full of roses just in case. In an instance, Tuxedo had thrown a magical rose towards Minako which hit the cement at her heels. Tuxedo looked at the other females. "My roses won't hold off our enemies for long, so at least now we have time to think and time to explain what exactly is going on. Like who are those people and what exactly is wrong with Minako-chan?" His eye focused on Outai. "Starting with you Tabibito-san. No offense...but you are a Sailor Senshi?"

Usagi had been gasping for air when tabibito had transformed. She hadn't really been paying attention as she was losing the battle to unlock Mina's hands. Then she was suddenly thrusted backwards out of the way of minas hands and she leaned on her knees gasping for air. She had hold of her throat as she took in deep breaths. She looked around as the girls started transforming and so did mamo-Chan. Usagi pulled out her heart shaped pendant and weakly transformed herself. She was feeling quite weak but the power that traversed through her veins had her feeling very good.


"What in the moon's name just happened? Sailor chibimoon, we are going to need to stay farther back!!!"

Ami had little time to catch her breath. Before she knew it, the disturbance appeared right before her eyes. And boy, was it big. The laptop in her hand was going to have to be removed if she was going to transform and fight. She ran as fast as she could to the little storage to put it away. Ami wasn't sure if Setsuna had backed up their research to another safe place, but she wasn't going to risk them losing something so valuable, especially now that she knew for a fact that the research really was related to the Taint.

As soon as she tucked the laptop safely behind some of Rei's brooms, she ran back to the gang. She transformed halfway there, raising her Henshin pen that was stashed in her skirt's inner pocket. "Mercury Crystal Power, Make Up!!" she yelled out as she rejoined the group. In a flurry of bubbles, Ami's uniform disappeared and was replaced by her familiar aqua blue Senshi uniform with matching ribbons and clear sleeves. She summoned her computerized blue shades and pressed a tiny button to analyze the area. Sure enough, the tiny computer detected bodies surrounding the entire shrine. It wasn't like she really needed the computer to confirm what everyone could see and now feel. The darkness was too large to not notice at this point. However, the computer told her what her eyes could not detect. They gave her early notice of the closest enemies, giving them the advantage of at least predicting which parts of the horde would attack next. When she rejoined the group, Tuxedo Mask had already begun his counter. She aided him with her own attack. "Mercury Bubble Spray!!" she exclaimed before sending out a giant screen of fog in front of her. She hoped this would help them buy some time before the minions found their way to the main grounds. If they were lucky, the mindless group would trip and fall down the stairs on their own. Once this was done, she rejoined the Senshi and announced in a strong, but low voice. "With my glasses, I can see when and from where they're coming. They won't surprise us as long as we stay alert."



Setsuna's maternal side told her to scold Chibiusa for transforming when there were plenty of others to fight... but that was thrown out the window upon seeing even Usagi transform. If Usagi could fight after what had just happened to her, Setsuna figured that it was urgent enough for Chibiusa to get ready to fight as well. 'Besides, Small Lady would be able to protect herself better this way...' And finally after much banter with herself, hesitation gone, she raised her Henshin pen and yelled out, "Pluto Planet Power, Make Up!!" A powerful gust of energy lifted her hair and surrounded her as she transformed into the Guardian of Time. Her signature black uniform and garnet ribbon draped over her body as her Garnet Rod was summoned. Seeing that Mamoru immediately read her mind by transforming, she smiled proudly. 'Definitely the making of a king,' she thought for a moment before refocusing. "Everyone, gather around. Introductions can wait. Sailor Andromeda is on our side for now; we can figure out the rest later, Tuxedo Mask. Sailor Moon is right. Our first and foremost priority is to get Sailor Moon and Chibi Moon out of harm's way. Andromeda, can you heal Minako and Sailor Moon at least? Minako is also a Senshi," she briefly explained and used her rod to point toward the two affected Senshi.

Struggling.

Struggling against whatever; whoever; was holding her back. Struggling against whatever had taken her mind. Mina was a mess, watching everything through her eyes like a television screen.

They had transformed, and Minako was willing herself to do the same, but something in her stopped her; transforming would give whatever in her too much power. It would be devastating.

She kept struggling; attempting to get at Sailor Moon.

What the hell was going on?!

Outai - no, Sailor Andromeda - was flabbergasted as she watched not just Setsuna, but Ami, Usagi, Chibiusa, and Mamoru transform in front of her. How in the name of HOLY could that crybaby clutz be a senshi?! And the little one! And everyone else! Well, she could almost believe it of Ami, and if they were all senshi it stood to reason that Rei, Michiru, Haruka, Hotaru, and Makoto might very well be senshi as well. But Minako being a senshi was a problem. She could feel the girl's soul, and it was not so far gone that she could not come back, but it would be a real problem if she transformed.

Well, at least that cuts down my list of souls necessary to keep safe to just two, now, since the other two are one and the same as the first two. she thought to herself.

Sailor Andromeda ignored their talk of being on their side - she was on no one's side but her own - and did not wait for Setsuna to ask her to heal them, though she asked anyway. Instead, once Usagi was free of Minako's grasp, and as Sailor Mercury somehow conjured up a thick fog she could hardly see through, she began to spin, her lantern on her staff glowing. She made three passes, with the lantern leaving a streak of light behind it, slowly raising the staff with each pass until it was above her head.

"Gates of Heaven!"

Below them a pattern of circles and symbols appeared, but it was not so large as it had been in the past. Rather, it was just large enough to cover the group - Usagi, Minako, and Setsuna included - as it exploded with light, washing away the taint with it. As soon as the spell was cast, she ran up to Usagi - Sailor Moon Eternal - and cupped her hands around the girl's bruising neck. She did not squeeze - in fact, she kept her fingers straight and spaced out to show that her fingers were not even touching the girl's neck - but her hands were glowing softly as she imparted some of her strength into Usagi's neck, healing the bruises.

Unfortunately, running was too late. The tainted had arrived at the shrine, encircling them. Whoever Mamoru had turned into, he was throwing roses at the crowd, and somehow it was holding some of them back. She had never thought a rose could be so strong. Well, it would not hold them all back, and as they approached, for some reason they suddenly stopped in an encircling ring of tainted souls. She could not understand why they were not attacking - the tainted never stopped, never even hesitated - yet they just stood there, writhing as though they wanted to continue on and destroy everything around them, yet held back by something. What it was, she could not tell - there were too many tainted souls for her to feel each and every one of them individually to see who, or what, might be commanding them - but whatever it was had to be incredibly strong.

"If Minako is a senshi, then am I correct in guessing that the same is true for miss Hino, miss Kino, miss Tenoh, miss Kaioh, and miss Tomoe?" she asked the group, keeping herself on high alert. There were just too many of them, and they could attack at any time.

Mamoru nodded at Sailor Pluto but frowned at Sailor Mercury. The fog that appeared when she used her "Mercury bubbles," was an amazing defense. It concealed them from their enemies and confused them...but it could also blind their comrades. Tuxedo Mask said nothing on this and instead continued to protect Sailor Moon and Super Chibimoon. Super Chibimoon was standing next to Sailor Pluto, whom he knew she was the safest with after him, Sailor Moon and Sailor Saturn; Chibimoon loved those people unconditionally and he knew she would be in good hands if he had to be-which he really couldn't be-two places at once. Now there was Sailor Moon, who was with Sailor Andramoda, and too close for comfort by Minako, who seemed to be under some sort of spell. His rose, which was still at her feet, lost a petal. Tuxedo frowned. If that flower lost all of its petals, then that means it was weakening.

Even though Sailor Andromda was a Senshi, and she seemed to be trusted by Sailor Pluto, and her other self (Outai Tabibito) seemed to be trusted by Usgai, Tuxedo Mask wasn't sure who she really was. What was her story? He didn't have time to question her according to Sailor Pluto, who was right, so Tuxedo would treat her as a friend who needed to be watched after. Which meant he couldn't leave her so close to Sailor Moon while he was so far. He needed to be at her side until he was certain SAILOR andromda was not a threat to her. And Minako either. True the new Senshi was healing Sailor Moon of the red handprints on her neck but first...

Tuxedo, roses in hand, leaped into the air and spun around a few times. As he did this, the roses, first only blurs of red, threw from his hands and surrounded the group of Sailor Senshi. He observed what happened when he finally stopped spinning. He had intended to form a circle of roses but since the Senshi were so scattered-with the recently arrive Sailor Saturn being the furthest-his ring of protective roses didn't quite form a circle. Or even an oval. It was more of a swiggly circle-square. Tuxedo landed beside Sailor Moon. Tuxedo surveyed the area. He nodded with approval. These roses may look harmless..

"Well," he said aloud for all to hear, "While Sailor Pluto is right and introductions can wait, learning of who these people are and forming a plan cannot. Tuxedo closed his eyes behind the white mask, and touched the bridge of his nose bteween to fingers as he gestured around them. "Those roses may not prove to be totally effective. Should those people step on them, it would be like stepping on glass. This is all that I can do for now." He took a long deep breathe, as he composed himself. Then he opened his eyes and addressed all of the Senshi. "In a crash course, can someone take me through who or what these people are. Are they humans under mind control? Or are they minions of another world? Be quick please," he said hastily, eyeing the zombie-people, hoping that they were minions. Minions were easier to defeat because they were the enemy and he could use his sword to cut them down. But if they were humans under a spell--like Minako!--then he wouldn't be able to help. Sure he could stop them with his endless supply of roses, but that would be all. "We are running out of time," he said hastily.

Sailor Saturn commanded her minions back, keeping them out of range of the healing spell created by Sailor Andromeda. Her gaze was narrowed at the mist of bubbles created by Sailor Mercury. What an annoying attack. Once both spells had dissipated and her minions surrounded her former comrades, Saturn raised her staff so it could be full visible. She stepped forward, revealing herself to the group. "You would be correct, Aurora. Or should I call you Outai now?" the vessel asked, a smirk on her face.
Her attention turned towards Tuxedo Mask. "These people are humans, who have become my minions." The girl was amused at how the prince know so little about what was attacking this world. And it was all because of the girl known now as Outai. "And no, you are not running out of time. You have run out." With that the Senshi of Silence raised her glaive.

"PINK SUGAR HEART ATTACK!"
Sailor Chibimoon held up her pink moon rod, aiming her attack at Hotaru's hands. She could tell from the look in the other senshi's eyes that something was terribly wrong. When she raised the glaive, Chibimoon had to get the weapon away from Saturn. Pink hearts shot towards the purple senshi, hitting her arms and causing her to drop the Glaive before she could use her spell. Senshi of Silence glared at the pink haired child. "I should have gotten rid of you when I had the chance," she spat as one of the tainted humans picked up the fallen Glaive and offered it up to the senshi of silence.

Sailor Andromeda's attack felt surprisingly 'Refreshing...' she thought and inhaled deeply. Placing a hand on her chest and holding onto her Garnet Rod a little more tightly, she noticed a warm sensation overflow her body for a few seconds. 'I guess I was tainted, afterall. That adrenaline rush with Minako must have kept me from noticing sooner. Oh, well,' she thought calmly and shrugged it off. Pluto regained her composure and stood even taller than before to prove it. She refused to let a little darkness in her soul keep her from her most important duty, protecting the princesses. She was more resilient than that. Years standing on her own, holding onto the adoration of the Moon Kingdom family, made her strong when it came to any situation involving them. Answering Sailor Andromeda, she said, "Yes, they're all--" but stopped mid-explanation upon hearing her adoptive daughter's voice. Eyes widening, her face initially showed confusion upon suddenly seeing her.

Then it all came crashing down at once. With bitterness and wrath, Super Sailor Pluto turned toward what used to be Hotaru. She couldn't hide the scowl, the rage she felt that this enemy had the nerve to take her precious child away from her, the frustration that she didn't realize why Hotaru kept hiding and finding ways to avoid the others the past week, the agony at realizing she might have to hurt the younger Senshi. She hadn't felt this much pain in a long time. This was similar to how she felt when Small Lady became Black Lady. She knew immediately from the look on Hotaru's face, the way she spoke, the unfamiliar name she gave to Outai that this was not her Hotaru.

As Saturn raised her glaive, looking to attack, Pluto inhaled sharply, raising her own weapon with both hands in retalliation. Suddenly, Chibi Moon's high-pitched voice rang out and her signature pink hearts smacked the glaive. It took everything Pluto had not to yell at the little Senshi. 'For God's sake! Don't put yourself on the line, Small Lady!!' she thought what she was going to say. If anything happened to her, Pluto would lose it and would possibly have to take Saturn down. No one would harm her future queen's daughter as long as she was breathing. And the older Senshi finally had enough remaining silent. She stepped forward boldly, staff now lowered and held with one hand as she faced Saturn. Her head tilted, and a pleading tone came out when she said, "Hotaru, sweetie, if you can hear me, please fight! You are a strong soul, and I don't want to lose you!" But a moment later, her position changed to that of a guardian. "However, if you dare touch a hair on Chibi Moon's head, if you even speak like that again, I will not hesitate to attack you," she said in her most dominating tone, face stoic and serious. "If you don't fight, Hotaru, I will," she concluded and held her staff forward like a sword, the tip of the Garnet Orb facing Saturn. It pained her greatly to be put in this terrible situation after getting to know Hotaru for years and watching her grow up. But of course, Pluto knew that her duty as a protector of the heiresses came before anything else. If she could, she would drop her rod and let Saturn have her. 'But not today... No, I must fight for them,' she thought with a heart full of determination.


The fog Super Sailor Mercury unleashed gave them little time to think. In fact, it wasn't enough to make a real plan; it was just barely enough time for Sailor Andromeda to heal the few Senshi who had been touched. Before she could speak up and help the team coordinate, a strangely familiar voice interrupted them. 'Hotaru...?' she thought happily at first, almost smiling. But upon noticing her sinister tone and looking into her eyes, she knew that Hotaru was gone for the time being. Her half smile turned into a gasp, and her eyebrows became furrowed. "No..." she mumbled to no one in particular and took a few steps backward closer to Eternal Sailor Moon. It was her duty, along with the others, to protect her at all costs. The girl's mind raced as she tried to come up with a plan. 'Should I attack? Or should I wait-- Oh, no!' she immediately freaked out upon seeing Sailor Saturn's staff rise. She crossed her arms, ready to defend with her own spell if necessary. Fortunately, Super Sailor Chibi Moon stopped her former comrade's attempt. Refusing to relax her stance, though, she remained still and used this moment to make sure that the tainted civilians did not move any closer than before. Her glasses indicated that they were still kept at bay where they were a minute ago, though she figured the situation would change any second with their leader on the move. Though she was closer to Eternal Sailor Moon, she prepared herself if Super Sailor Chibi Moon needed help. This was getting far too dangerous far too quickly. 'If only we could get those two away from here... But how?!' she thought nervously, wracking her brain for a quick solution. If she unleashed another blast of fog, would it do any good at this proximity? 'Or I could freeze Saturn at the right moment...' she thought strategically, now trying to figure out the opportune moment. Super Sailor Pluto seemed to be ready to step up as she confronted the tainted Senshi. 'If Pluto can hold her off for a short period, we can at least get the princesses away from here. Tuxedo Mask is probably trying to figure out the same; it is his family afterall,' she mused and continued to figure out a last-minute strategy.

Saturn had a stoic expression on her face as her gaze shifted from the pink haired child to her adoptive mother. Perhaps she would toy with them some more. She held her Glaive in a similar manner to Pluto, aiming the sharp bladed end at the taller Senshi's neck. "What's wrong Setsuna mama?" the girl asked, her voice filled with a fake sweetness. She tilted her head to the side, a confused expression crossing her face. She whispered one word, knowing that it would probably push the older senshi's buttons: "Mama."
Hotaru's soul might be locked away, but her memories were still within the vessel. And the taint was going to use it to its advantage. The vessel smirked, releasing a wave of dark energy from her glaive. Her expression returned to that of a cocky, arrogant person. "Your daughter is no more. Her soul was strong, I agree, but even the strongest and purest souls eventually fall to me...Isn't that right Aurora?" She said turning her attention back to Sailor Andromeda.

Sailor Andromeda

For once Sailor Andromeda's usually stoic face held shock and horror. She could not hold it back, and she could not keep it from her face. The senshi before her, in purples and white, was so incredibly strong. Her power, and the taint itself, were both immense. Her power...she could tell it was destructive, but she couldn't say how, and the taint was so strong, so much stronger than anything she had ever felt before. This girl's soul had to be gone now. It was using her body to speak - she was a vessel now, the first she had ever met. Well, it stood to reason that, if Andromeda was a vessel for Holy, and if the taint had no body to speak with as Holy did, then the taint would steal a body to be it's vessel, too.

With this knowledge, Andromeda knew she could not heal this senshi. The taint was too strong. She could feel it pouring from this girl, and knew that she didn't have to touch anyone to taint them. She just had to be in their vicinity. If she couldn't heal it, and she CERTAINLY could not let the taint have her power or spread it's influence stronger through her, then there was only one option left, an option she did not even want to consider. However, if she did not, then the world would die today.

Her arms felt like lead weights as she raised her free hand in front of her. Holy, but she did NOT want to do this! Healing those who could not come back had crushed her, but this would tear her to pieces! But it had to be done. There was no avoiding it. This girl was gone, and the taint would use her power to destroy everything. Her hand came up in front of her, palm out with the hand open, and a ball of light formed in her hand, a ball of pure energy that would kill this vessel for the taint when she spoke the deadly words that would cast her spell. She did not even notice the tears streaming down her face.

"I won't let you have this world." she told the vessel of the taint in a voice husky with tears that she did not even realize were flowing. "I will NOT let you have these souls, not again."

Sailor Andromeda's power washed over her; whatever it was. Cleansing her of the taint and she felt her self being released from it's grasp. Unfortunately, she was only conscious for about five seconds before everything went black before her eyes and she crumpled to the ground.

Eternal sailor moon smiled as she listened to the instructions. Of course she would try but probably.not succeed in doing so. When outai... Sailor andromeda healed her he felt even better than before. Though she was shocked when the sensei put her hands on her throat but she trusted the girl. When hotaru showed up. She could feel the negative energy coming off the poor girl. "Hotaru? Hotaru no! Don't give in! Fight, fight like you did against mistress 9!!" She called.out. she didn't like this at all. When chibimoon attacked she had almost jumped in front of the attack of course but stayed put. Sailor.moon new full well what the senshi could do if given.the chance. But she could feel hotaru still in the body.

When outai raised her hand as if to kill sailor Saturn, she stepped in front of her. She would not let this happen to her again. Not for the second time. She didn't need nor want for hotaru to die again. She had witnessed horrible things to save her the first time and she would do so again. She held out her arms as a tear rolled.down her face. "You can't! She is still there. You can't!!! I WONT LET YOU!" She cried.
