And while she's away, I'm gonna wait for her to return! The whole situation is going to be so cute, I can already tell!" Aly titled her head for a second to try and remember who the hell Axle was. She snapped her fingers, realizing who Axle was, nodding to her. Even though the rain was coming down, she had a soft spot in her heart for almost everything going around her right now. Since both of their partners were away on a mission, Aly found solace in spending time with the lovely woman in front of her. While she didn't know Axle or Momo that way, their love was beautiful. It wasn't as beautiful as hers and Kohaku's but still, it was damn close! Aly stood next to her friend and smiled, taking a peek over to a man who was standing next to her. Aly raised an eyebrow at him, realizing that must have been one of the escorts for Momo. She did remember seeing her around with people like that before but... strange... Why didn't she just ask her to do that for her? Aly thought Momo was a pretty cool chick but she figured it was no big deal. She'd have to do it next time for Momo to repay her debt for being so nice and letting her stand next to her like this. Aly really took heart in the best things in life and small gestures, like the one Momo just did for her, actually meant a lot for her. Aly raised a hand to the guy that was guarding Momo and waved to him, not really knowing who he was or anything but she assumed he was strong. He was in this military after all.

Aly turned back to Momo and asked, "Momo... I love my life." She was kind of just making conversation because she wanted nothing better to do than to spend every waking moment with Kohaku but unfortunately for her, that couldn't happen right now. Momo was a good enough friend though and since that other guy seemed pretty calm too, she didn't have a problem with him. Not as much as she would have in the past anyway. Aly was in the military too and she supposed they had a similar goal. But the feeling she got from this guy kind of... freaked her out a little. He seemed pretty nice and whatnot but there was... something else. Aly almost automatically ignored it when she started thinking about both of their loved ones. "You really love Axle, don't you?" Aly asked, turning to her friend. "I haven't spent as much time with everybody as I would have liked to but Kohaku tells me of times when the two of them talk about us. Honestly, it's never very like Kohaku to speak about how much she cares about me when she's around people but... maybe she feels, in some part, responsible for what happened to... well, you know who." Aly was talking about Xander. She understood how touchy of a subject that was for her and Axle but she wanted to brouch the subject just a little bit. "Kohaku used to think that man was so troublesome... Now, look at him. He's doing something as noble as that. Don't you think so, Momoko? I respect him for what he did. I'm glad you and Axle are so strong about it though. He wouldn't want to see you guys cry about it." Aly put a hand on her friend's shoulder and smiled at her, looking up at the rain. She didn't even care about it raining so much, she just wanted to see Kohaku again. That's all she cared about... Oh, and keeping Momo company. That was another thing. For sure, for sure. "You know what? I talk about my wife so much! Why don't you tell me about your hubby for a little bit! I'd love to hear how much you love him~" This was actually a legitimate thing that Aly wanted to know. Since everybody already knew about how much she loved Kohaku, she wanted to hear everything that Axle did to her little heart. It must have been adorable!

                                                                                          {Military base} x {Momoko and some guy} x {Amazing!} x {OOC}

Things seemed to be going as planned, more or less; thanks to their efforts, the number of shadows were depleting, and most of the evacuees were out of immediate danger, with the rest to follow soon. They had certainly gotten much more efficient at working as a team since they first began fighting together, and Kohaku couldn't help but be proud of their group; no longer did they need to be given orders at every turn to work together effectively, as they knew each other's strengths and weaknesses well enough to determine where their own individual skills were needed most. It was as she always said--they each had something unique to bring to the team, and they could only capitalize on these differences when they worked together.

Of course, against enemies as weak as these it was perfectly acceptable to work alone for the most part. She had already cleared out a number of shadows herself, thanks to her speed with a sword and a well-placed attack from her Persona, and containment was the key; as long as she could keep the shadows in her area from reaching the civilians, it would be enough. That wasn't to say that she wasn't grateful when assistance arrived, of course. What she wasn't expecting was to receive quite a warm welcome on the battlefield. "I hardly think this is the time, Nomusa." Luckily, Kuro had read the situation well enough, and chosen the most appropriate time to greet her with a hug--it was still a bit reckless in her opinion, but she could forgive him for it. It really had been a while.

They had quickly returned to work afterward as well, Kuro dealing with enemies at range and Kohaku eliminating those that came close to the two of them. It required focus, but not so much that they couldn't have a casual conversation at the same time, something Kohaku would have never approved of when they were first starting out. "Alemayehu is still as energetic as ever, to put it lightly." She did not want to divulge the details of how "loving" she could be, but it was a fair enough question. Anyone who saw the two of them together would pick up on it--or rather, the extent of Aly's love would hit them like a freight train. "Life has been interesting enough, I suppose. The family 'business' has kept me rather busy as of late." She made it a point to never detail what it was that her family did exactly, but she was sure that anyone who visited her house would have an idea at least. "And how have you been? I noticed that Yoshino did not join us today. Is she not feeling well?"

I'll have you know that this requires a lot more finesse than swinging a spear around." Hiro didn't take his eyes off the patient while he spoke, focusing on moving the bones back into position as gently as possible. It was painful work either way, but luckily it wasn't a compound fracture; clean breaks required little intervention on his part once everything was in place. Despite his complaining, he did his best to move quickly. He knew that it wasn't for Axle's sake that he wanted the civilians treated as soon as possible, but for theirs. They sooner they could walk, the sooner they could get out.

He couldn't pay much attention to what was going on around him as he moved from one patient to the next--luckily this one only had a dislocated shoulder, from the look of it--but Hiro could tell that the battle was raging strongly around him. One hand still attending to his work, he lifted up the other and shook his sleeve up, revealing a wristwatch-like device, which he opted to press against his evoker to activate rather than bother having to free up both hands for it. Armor in shades of green covered his body, providing an extra line of defense for himself--and the patient--if Axle happened to let any of them through.

"Everything's fine over here. Or at least it will be as long as you keep doing your job." Luckily, they were shortly joined by Noelle, the old man, and Hitoshi from the sound of it. Hiro had grown accustomed to using his ears as much as his eyes when it came to discerning what was happening in a fight; he was able to tell what his teammates were up to more or less, and he could even differentiate between a shadow getting attacked and one of his friends. Everything seemed fine so far. Popping the last joint into place, he summoned Ishtar once more, healing those he had not attended to. "Everyone's healed over here. We're good to move."

☤Hitoshi Hanketsu☤

The war was won, wondrous it was
Peace ensued, ignorance restored
Fate moved on, red lines twining
Sleep returned, lessons learnt.
Over it was not, as fate took a turn
For the better or the worse, evil returned.
Judgment preserved, my path anew
I tread upon bloodbath still.

Hitoshi's ears twitched when she heard a soft voice asking about her. Oh, Amaya. Another of Noelle's numerous friends, but what was she doing here? Last she heard from Noelle, Amaya was really weak. Concern flashed across her face, before she frowned.

"Holster? Uh... Oops. So that was what the new pistol was for... Sorry! And thanks! Mistook it for a new firearm!" Hitoshi quickly took out her Evoker, feeling a little embarrassed. Of all things to mistake as a new firearm. Really, she should pay more attention. Raising it to her head, she shot herself, music ringing in her ears.

A loud flash appeared over the Shadows, and it went straight down into the crowd. A loud explosion was heard, and Shadows caught in the light were quickly vanquished. Satisfied, Hitoshi put down the gun. Behind her, Libra floated, her scale tinkling.

That felt satisfying. It didn't look like anyone required a healing up, so Hitoshi used Mind Charge, ready to launch another Megidolaon. When the Gramps had told Noelle not to take things too far, Hitoshi laughed.

"Don't worry, Grampa. I'm right here, so if anyone needs a healing, just give me a holler. And I will make sure no one goes down in this nest." she wheeled over to the group, her Evoker in hand. For now, she was using Spirit Drain on Shadows, collecting SP in order to make up for the lost SP in the Megidolaon. At least the Shadows can't use their own elemental moves now!

              I stand before this massacre
My weapons drawn, my eyes ahead
Deep down I have always known
This was eternity, my curse to carry
Care I not of my destiny
Chosen and carried out, without hesitancy
Love and hate, a clash of fury
Forever and now, I will stand
My people, my family, I will do my best
Raising my hand and letting it fall
The echoes of my Judgment ringing on.

                                                                ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂

"So we're in the same boat, then." Momoko couldn't help but giggle at Aly's enthusiasm--the girl never seemed to get tired, that was for sure. They didn't often get to speak privately like this, but she enjoyed seeing how she interacted with their entire group. It was clear that she was someone who was honest with her feelings, and she could definitely respect that; that kind of honesty and energy was a different kind of strength. Aly was physically strong as well and undoubtedly a skilled fighter, and Momoko certainly wouldn't have minded if she wanted to escort her on the occasions she visited. In fact, she often requested to have someone from Animus accompany her, but she was told that escorts were provided solely on an availability basis--which she could certainly understand. In the very least, she could still share a conversation with her for the time being.

"Kohaku expresses things a bit differently, but I think it's obvious to those who know her that she cares for you very much." Momoko assured her, even though if anyone knew how Kohaku was feeling, it was certainly Aly. It was true that Kohaku kept her conversations mostly professional and didn't really express much sentimentality, but she always spoke of Aly rather fondly--or at least as fondly as Kohaku could manage. Her upbringing must have had something to do with that, she was sure.

"I do hope that she doesn't blame herself too much for what happened, though... I don't think anyone can be held entirely accountable for that." That was a lie. Despite everything, and the truth of the situation, Momoko couldn't help but blame Thessa for taking her best friend away from her and hurting Axle so deeply. She was never openly hostile towards her, of course; on the contrary, she was perfectly civil, even downright pleasant. But it was something she could never forget or forgive either. "I miss him, but... I'm glad for Xander, in a way. What he did was braver than any of us could imagine, and I think he's happy that he can protect us all like this." It was definitely still sad to talk about her friend like this, but she shed the last of her tears long ago. What was important now was remembering his sacrifice and doing everything possible to move on, so that it wasn't in vain.

Still, she was grateful that Aly changed the topic to something considerably lighter; although she had to be strong, it was all too easy to ruminate. "There's so much I could possibly say that I'm not quite sure where to start." Although she and Axle could be fairly shameless when it came to expressing their love to each other, Momoko wasn't often asked to speak about it herself. "It does always take him so long to say goodbye, though. I'm fairly sure he must have caused a bit of trouble for the rest of the team today. Kohaku would have surely scolded him if she wasn't overseas herself." It was a subtle way of expressing things, but the implications were there; there were very few things that would cause him to be late relevant to the conversation.

"But where are my manners... I've neglected to introduce my guest here." Remembering that she and Aly were indeed not alone, she turned to her escort. "This is Alejandro Flores, with the Company, I believe. And this is Alemayehu Desta, with the Platoon, of course." It was a quick introduction, but it was all that was necessary; it was doubtful that the two would ever meet outside of a professional context. "Of course, she is a raked member of the military as well... I understand if you would like to take your leave now, Mr. Flores. It must be boring to sit around and hear a couple of ladies talk about such sentimental things."

In all honestly, Alejandro--or Alex, as most called him--hadn't been paying attention. It was an easy job, to say the least--just follow the lady around and make sure she didn't go anywhere she was supposed to--but it got so tedious. Still, he knew he should be grateful; it was much better than some meaningless drill or even worse, cleaning duty. He even got to have some pleasant conversation with her occasionally, and who could say no to that? Of course, once a real friend of hers came over, the polite thing to do was to simply zone out.

Which made it quite the surprise when he heard his name being spoken once again. Coming out of his self-induced stupor, he grinned at Alemayehu, offering her his hand in greeting. "Just Alex is fine. It's nice to meet you, Miss Desta! Or I guess it's Mrs. Desta, huh?" She did mention something about being married, didn't she? Right around the time the two were talking about something he wished he had zoned out more for. He couldn't help but hear the name 'Xander', and it was an unpleasant one for him. Pushing the thought out of his mind, he focused on the conversation at hand. "I feel like I've heard that name before... You wouldn't happen to be related to anyone famous, would you?" That was a bit of an act; even if she wasn't a former student at Animus, the name was still associated with one of the most famous brands in the fashion industry. Still, it made for polite conversation.

"I'm afraid I can't leave. Orders are orders after all, Mrs. Mason." Placing his hands on his hips, he puffed out his chest slightly in a brief moment of over-the-top mock pride. "Besides, I can't complain about being in the company of two lovely women such as yourselves. I can't lie, I am a bit jealous that you're both taken..." He crossed his arms casually once again, leaning against the nearby wall. It was definitely unprofessional, but as long as one of the officers weren't nearby, he didn't particularly care. "But there's no need for your spouses to worry. I won't steal either of you away unless you want me to!" He gave the pair of them a playful wink before continuing. "So you don't have to mind me at all, alright?"

Oh man, Axle didn't know why but he felt like he missed this. He hadn't felt this alive in a long time, and maybe it's because all of them were acting as a team instead of being sent out on different missions. Honestly, most of the time the entire team wasn't together because the government apparently had a problem with sending one of their strongest teams out on a cleansing mission. Whatever the case may be and even though a few members were absent, one that he was totally okay with not seeing, he felt energized. He'd have to thank Amaya again for what she's done for the team, and stay as far away from the Mistress Troll of the Dark Realm for as much as he could today. While his wife was perfectly pleasant with Thessa, Axle didn't really want to think about her. So he didn't and refused to anymore today unless he saw her. Focusing back on what Hiro said, he smirked at him. "Gee, as sweet as ever, aren't you? But okay, I'll make sure none of them touch anybody." Axle laughed a little bit, as his ACE disappeared from his body. He slashed at a few more times at the shadows in front of him, not really bothered by Hiro's automatic way of becoming confrontational in less than a second. He understood the guy enough to at least respect who he was and what he did, but regardless of what you said to him, you'd find yourself getting a snooty remark anyway. Axle just figured censoring himself was just as bad so he just spoke however he felt at the time to him. Axle did his best to usher through anyone else as the shadows finally started to disappear. Axle laughed after hearing Amaya's flustered words through the communication line, knowing that his comment went over well with her.

As he continued to finish off the shadows around him, he heard a few people speak through the communication line, including some old faces that he hadn't seen in awhile. The nests seemed to be calming down before this, which is why he always felt like there was such a long time after each mission. They were doing quite a righteous amount of justice to the world but working alongside somebody else's time restraints was just... difficult. Overall, he just wanted to work with this team they had now, but they had to make their move before it happened. He assumed Chikara would eventually have everything up to speed in his head soon enough but until that time happened, he had to sit tight. He looked up to see that the area around them was becoming clear again. He could see some of the natural sunlight begin to cover the entire area and bleed through the previously dark clouds, changing it from its dreary mix of dark red, green, and black colors to a shining bright indescribable color. Axle remembered researching something called the "Dark Hour" that resembled this but he assumed it would never come back. History really did repeat itself, didn't it... Axle turned to Noelle and Gramps, laughing a bit when Hitoshi called him "grandpa". The fascinating part about this was that "Gramps" had so much more experience than everybody else, it actually made him the wisest out of all of them. He didn't seem bothered by the name so everybody just called him that. "I'm not sure if you'll have to do that, Noelle. It looks like most of them are gone now. Honestly, I'm surprised by how easy this was. Guess we were just getting our stride back." Axle connected to the communication line, speaking up to Amaya, "Amaya, we seem to have destroyed most of the shadows here. Are there anymore in this city or should we move to simply checking the damaged houses and getting the people to safety?"

Time to break the chain
No pain, don't be afraid

"Hardly the time?" Kuro asked, laughing heartily. "What are you saying, Kohaku? It's always a good time to share sentiments like that! Just like you calling me Nomusa. We've been out of that school for the longest time, and for some reason, you still call me by last name. Ah, I guess I don't mind." Kuro closed one eye, and slammed one right between its eyelids... or... lid? Whatever it was, Kuro had taken care of it almost immediately, realizing that it would probably have to resort to using his Persona soon or the whole situation would become real boring. Kuro switched out one of his guns for his Evoker, and pointed it at his head, and pulled the trigger, releasing his Persona, Kohryu, once more. Kohryu flew out of the portal, and ran through a bunch of shadows, ripping them apart like nobody's business. He put his Evoker away and since he was sure that done enough damage to lay down some of their forces, he put a little more focus on what Kohaku was saying. Kuro made quotations as he said, "To put it lightly. That's good on you, Kohaku. I can see you're as modest as ever when talking about your wife. It's a good attitude you have and excercises the fact that you really do care about Aly." Kuro didn't spend that much time with Aly herself because they didn't live anywhere nearby one another but she was a sister. So whatever happened to her, Kuro supported her, similar to that of Ely. Ely was actually very special to him, being like that of a little sister since they kept in contact over the years with letters and such. Kuro had visited his friends all the time all over the world whenever they could and watched Ely's concerts on television whenever he could. For whatever reason, he couldn't really make it to many of them since they were always all over the place. He had heard about Ely performing here from one of her previous letters, he wondered if that was actually the thing or... not? Kuro looked around, realizing that they weren't too far away from the concert hall that everybody seemed to be gathered around.

"The family business, eh?" Kuro asked, curious as to what she was talking about. Wait... he remembered being over her home once and... Oh okay, he understood. He was initially curious about what she did, and when Kohaku mentioned that little about what she was doing, Kuro got the message. It wasn't something that should be spoken about, and he assumed that her wife missed a lot just from her saying that. "I understand completely, Kohaku. I've only visited you a handful of times over in your home in Japan but I understand what you mean." Kuro assured her that he understood exactly what she meant knowing that her skills must have stayed sharp with her time working for them, and Aly, while she didn't have a Persona must have been able to help out with them as well. If Kohaku allowed it, which he doubted she did. "And my soon to be wife? Well, see... They ordered two people to stay out of the whole situation and Mikan happened to be one of them. Honestly, I would have loved to work with my wife but it's good for the two of us to get some relaxation. At times, it's nice to be away from one another. Distance makes the heart grow fonder after all. Other than that, I've been good. Well, sort of... I'm not sure, honestly. Mikan and I still love one another, of course, but for whatever reason, there's been a problem lately. We've decided to start "trying"." He hoped that Kohaku got what he meant because he wasn't going to go into depth it. "For whatever reason, it doesn't really seem to going anywhere though. I'm not a really complicated guy and even after facing my shadow I'm very sure of myself but... having a child is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. It's not like I think either of us is incapable but there haven't been any results. Honestly, we've only been trying to try. We both know we're too young but... it's just been weighing on my consciousness for a little while. What do you think, Kohaku?"

That's the sign
It's time to try, you gotta fly!

"Oh yes, most definitely!" Aly squealed a bit when she said that. She covered her mouth and giggled a little bit, finding Momo to be absolutely delightful company. Aly could definitely see why Axle married her. "I mean, if you weren't standing here, I would of had to go and drag you out here! Axle and Kohaku deserve the best welcome possible!" Aly couldn't have imagined this life without Kohaku. The idea of her being in her life seemed to be so foreign to her a couple of years ago but now... She probably wouldn't be able to live without Kohaku. She was her one, her only, and her only one. Aly thought Kohaku was so precious and only wanted her precious baby to be happy in every endeavor she did. Most of the time, while they were home Aly took care of her. It was nice to see her baby happy and comfortable and that's all she wanted for her. She was comfortable seeing her baby happy. "Kohaku's a very sweet woman. Just like you, Momo. I can see why Axle loves you so much." Aly patted Momo on the head and then continued to listen her talk about her husband.

Aly had never been exposed to such a love that wasn't her own but just by her words, Aly could tell that Momo loved her husband very much. Her speaking of Xander too was especially wonderful, and it seemed every word she spoke was filled with happiness and elegance. Aly was impressed by this girl to say the least. She wasn't as elegant or fantastic as Kohaku was but hell, she was probably pretty close. Axle had a princess on his hands and she hoped he treated her right. It was obvious from how long they were together that their relationship was pretty straight. Aly nudged her friend, understanding what she meant about "Axle taking a long time". Aly blushed a little bit and stuck her tongue out at her friend, knowing that she probably didn't mean that (based on the elegance she was showing) but everybody did it, right? It was super natural for anybody to do! Aly just realized there was also somebody here that neither of them really knew so that kind of "girl talk" should have been kept between them two if it was going to be told to either of them at all. That's when Momo finally introduced the person that was escorting her around. The guy who Aly had gotten a weird feeling off of when she first saw him. That feeling was definitely not there anymore but she would wait and judge out what he did before anything happened. That was probably a mistake to do.

"Nice to meet you, Alex. I like your last name." Aly responded in the most professional way she could, her voice even dropping lower than it normally was. Aly's face grimaced a little bit when he asked about her family's company, being the second time he kind of soured her mood. She quickly got her composure back and said, "Yeah, actually. I'm the daughter of Alison Desta and the late Emeka Desta. Ironically, my father's first name pointed him in the right direction. He did accomplish some great deeds. I actually used to design a lot more clothes when I was younger but all I do is represent as the CEO of the company now. They happened not to need me at the moment so I'm here, waiting for my wife, whom is currently kicking a** at a shadow nest in Chicago." Shortly after that, Alex declined Momo's invite to leave. Aly thought that was fine because orders were orders after all. Unfortunately, ever since Aly had joined the military, she had completely understood that. But the next thing he said made her laugh in a way that obviously radiated disgust. Those kinds of comments were things she did not take very lightly. This guy had already sullied her mood three times today and she didn't want him to do it again. "Not like it would matter anyway. I'm not into guys, if you didn't catch that by my previous statement about my wife being gone." Aly had a bit of venom in her voice, because even though she had calmed down from how militant she used to be, she was still annoyed by people like him. "We definitely won't mind you." Aly turned back to Momo and realized that it was beginning to rain down a little bit harder and harder where they were. "Momoko, would you like to go inside for a bit? I would still love to spend some time with you." She couldn't really say much for the guy nearby them but... if orders were orders she'd still have to be nice to him, right? Thank goodness that idiot didn't have to work with her.

                                                                                          {Military base} x {Momoko and Alex} x {Something between ughhhh and feeling good} x {OOC}

Kohaku's upbringing had been very traditional after all, so the thought of doing anything too intimate--let alone trying for a child--before marriage was a bit foreign to her. She was told that it was ideal to wait, but if she couldn't, to at least leave no proof lest she bring shame upon herself and her family. A pregnancy would have been like a big, neon sign that attested to the fact that waiting was not an option--but of course, that had never been an issue for her. Conceiving, planned or otherwise, was a bit more difficult when a man wasn't involved. "Of course, my family is expecting the bloodline to be passed on as well, but it is understandably a bit...complicated on our end." It was certainly an odd conversation to have while cutting away at shadows, but she had to admit it was nice to catch up like this.

Their numbers seemed to be significantly reducing as well. They were less densely packed, and there were even moments when there were none in their area at all. Glancing around the site of the battle, Kohaku noted that it seemed to be true for the rest of the battle. Things would definitely be over shortly at this rate. Evacuation efforts seemed to have been completed as well. "It seems like we will be able to go home soon. At this rate, the rest of the shadows will be eradicated within moments." It was a short battle, but a tiring one nonetheless; it would be nice to return and spend a night or two with Aly before returning home to Japan...

Of course, the world didn't seem to want to let things go too smoothly. Not a second after she finished speaking, the ground began to shake and there was an explosion of darkness from a pile of rubble. A black mass, larger than the space that supposedly contained it heaved itself out of the debris, somehow formless but with shape at the same time. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that its form was constantly changing; as soon as one locked onto some feature or another, it would vanish, soon replaced with something else entirely: A tendril here, an arm there, a distorted human-like face somewhere else entirely that melted into a pool of darkness. Anyone could tell just by looking at it that it was of an entirely different caliber than the creatures they were cutting down before.

Kohaku wasted no time in retrieving her evoker and pressing it to her temple; even a moment's hesitation could be costly when up against such a large enemy. "Vaisravana!" She called forth the form of the War God, and pointing her sword at the enemy before him and giving her command. "Ragnarok!" It was fully consumed in an explosion of fire, but it was obvious before the flames dissipated that it was still standing. "Everyone, to me! We must defeat it quickly!"

"Burning up times four!"

"Hey, don't worry about me, Gramps! I can hold my own!" Noelle pointed at herself with her thumb, a broad smile forming underneath her helmet. She was as energetic as ever, and wanted to send each shadow running as quickly as possible. Maybe she should've had her head in the game, but she just wanted to spend her time together with her friends and her wife...sometimes their operations kept them from all coming together at the same time, but this was one of those times where things felt different. Noelle suddenly felt a cold chill run down her spine, and before Elysium could even tell her to move, she felt something hard slam in to her and send her skidding across the floor. Chikara was standing where she was going to land, so he caught her before she went any further. She looked limp, and she wasn't moving, but Chikara was certain she wasn't dead. Noelle had survived because her suit hardened upon taking impact, reducing the blunt damage. It stung a little bit, and Noelle felt like she got run over by a car, but she was one-hundred percent intact. In fact...she still had full mobility. If she moved her right arm, she could...

"Noelle, can you hear me? How many of me can you see?" Chikara shook Noelle back and forth a little bit, and while the rest of her body didn't move, she raised her right hand, and more specifically, her middle finger to Chikara. "Hahah...you'll be fine." Chikara was sure Noelle was just in shock since she hadn't ever been hit so hard before. It'd wear off soon enough. Chikara stuck his hand through the ground, causing shadows to drag Noelle beneath the surface, only to put her right next to Kohaku and the gathering group. "Hitoshi, can you heal her? I'm sure she doesn't want to miss this." Chikara himself stood up and faced the creature, its ever shifting nature giving it a strange, but unique look. He would've loved to sample it. Without any further prompting, he wrapped his body in shadows, forming an armor all his own that looked closer to bone and jagged, sharp edges. Everything was black save for his then golden eyes and his right arm, which was wrapped in red bandages. "Listen to Kohaku. It took a massive amount of damage without flinching. Forming up would make us targets, so take it from whatever angle you can." Chikara explained as well as he could through his voice which sounded like a combination of his, and a deeper, darker version of his voice overlaid over the first one. Chikara moved ahead, giving them the order to charge while moving around to see if this thing had an angle he could strike from.

Amaya continued to run through all the information being fed to her, but something was off. The way the nest vanished...it was more like the shadows were...moving? "Stay where you are, Mr. Mason. I've got a really bad feeling about this..." Amaya felt sick to the pit of her stomach, but she also felt a kind of exhilaration. "What's making Amatsu so excited...?" Amaya finally noticed it when a massive amount of shadows formed together to create some amalgamation of what had been dispatched so far. It was enough to kill an experienced Persona user, but everybody was there. "E-everyone..." Amaya knew there wasn't anything she could do for them right then. If she took off her limiter, she could join them, but...would she be just a liability? She hadn't fought in almost ten years. "E-everyone be careful! Don't let this thing beat you!" Amaya wrapped her hand around the choker she wore, only planning on removing it if her team was in danger. "I'll...I'll back you up in any way I can...!" Only as a last resort. She could still grasp that power if she tried.

"Noelle...!" Even the emotionless Elysium was shocked to see, not only a shadow, but her friend taking critical damage from it. Elysium bit the inside of her jaw in frustration that her abilities wouldn't have been useful here, save for the fact that she could make barriers, but she was nowhere near fast enough to use one on Noelle. She looked to Chikara, who was the second one to proactively attack the beast. "Don't get reckless." She was calm in her speech as she gave Chikara a Tetrakarn barrier, but she wasn't sure how long that was going to help him. She flinched when she saw Chikara take a hit head-on, only blocking it with the flat of his sword. Six years ago she had been just as distant to him as she had to everyone else, but she grew beyond that. At that point she felt like she could do them no good since all she could do was lessen the damage they took. Just like Amaya, Noelle, and Chikara, she considered it a duty to protect everyone here, no matter who it was. She hadn't seen them all in forever, and the first time she did they were saving her life...it was kinda pathetic. "Mrs. Hanketsu...it's an unpredictable enemy. Watch yourself." She didn't want to say that Hitoshi couldn't fight, but her mobility had been lowered, and that was dangerous. Elysium was certain that she could assist Hitoshi, however, being in such a close proximity. "I'll modify my tactics to match yours." Elysium stated with certainty within her monotone voice.

☤Hitoshi Hanketsu☤

The war was won, wondrous it was
Peace ensued, ignorance restored
Fate moved on, red lines twining
Sleep returned, lessons learnt.
Over it was not, as fate took a turn
For the better or the worse, evil returned.
Judgment preserved, my path anew
I tread upon bloodbath still.

Hitoshi hissed in irritation and annoyance when Noelle got a critical hit. No, it wasn't directed at Noelle. Instead, it was directed at the Shadow that had hit her. Noelle wasn't moving, and rage almost consumed the ever impulsive detective. Raising her gun to her head, she shot herself, using Mind Charge. As Chikara dragged the Shadow over, Hitoshi let launched Megidolaon.

Wheeling over hurriedly to Noelle, Hitoshi quickly used Diarahan, healing Noelle up to full health. Thank god. She turned to Amaya, her brow furrowed. "Don't push yourself, Amaya, I'm sure we can handle this. We always came through in the end." she grinned, before her expression took on a serious expression. Nodding to Elysium, she faced the Shadow again. Her mobility was low, as usual, but she could do long rangers. And from the looks of it, it was a Physical Shadow. "Thanks, Ms. Reiterpallasch, but focus helping the front line. I think most of them will suffer the highest amount of damage. I'll hang back for now."

Turning to the rest of the group, she took out her gun. "I'll drain its SP, but I think it's a Physical type! I'm not sure, but it's a hunch. If I'm wrong, at least I'll remove the SP so it can't use elemental moves." Hitoshi resumed using Spirit Drain. She had to stay far away, which was aggravating, since she had high durability compared to the rest thanks to her wheelchair. She was meant to be a tank!

For now, she would stay behind. "Don't push yourself too hard, Noelle! I'll back you up!"

Deep down I have always known
This was eternity, my curse to carry
Care I not of my destiny
Chosen and carried out, without hesitancy
Love and hate, a clash of fury
Forever and now, I will stand
My people, my family, I will do my best

Entering your world
I hold but one question
"Do you dare to fight"
"Against Evil's Mind"
The words leave my lips as you nod
Understanding you, I reach out
But turn away you did, towards the others you hold dear
Leaving me behind, not knowing I suffer
But tears could not stop, as I stoop to the shadows
A friend I was not, though I long to be
Your hand I could not hold, for I was never meant to be
Fool you were, to believe such a thing
Tool I was never going to be
You hold no power over me
I strike out, seeking my own path
Fulfilling my duty
With my own hands and deeds

Floating around in data, it was the most relaxing thing in the world.

The young boy(?) rolled onto its stomach, smiling. It was so peaceful in here, and nothing could disturb it. A lazy expression was on its face, until the entire area turned red. Alarmed, it sat up, frowning. Clicking its data fingers, it through up a screen. Darkness. Ah. Darn it.

Closing its hand, it paused, before its eyes shone bright green and opened its hand. A screen that read [ACCESS DENIED] was changed to [WELCOME] and its eyes dimmed back to its normal style, a lazy grin on its face. Satellites were so easy to crack.

The data being tapped on the screen, zooming in on the group at the Shadow nest. All their phones were kept away, so no wonder it could not see. It seemed as if they were having trouble. Pouting, it laid on its back. They seemed to be fine, until a girl was hit with a critical. Huh.

It continued to watch, before flicking towards the other group. Bunch of military. Wrinkling its nose, it turned back to the other group and tapped its chin. It has been some time... maybe. A devilish smile appeared on its face, and tapped a couple of controls.

At the scene, it landed, the data jittering over the hologram. It was temporary anyway. Closing its eyes, it flashed, and reappeared. Scythe in hand, the woman-like figure stepped out of the Shadows. Her pale face glittered in the sun, and had a slight glow, like the other Personas. Giggling slightly, she raised her hand, as she powered her own Attack. Her hand drifted to her side, and now, the scythe was raised.

Bringing the weapon down ever so quickly, a loud slash appeared on the Shadow, striking it hard. It was not going down yet, and the figure flicked her fingers in irritation.

She disappeared into the Shadows again, but the life of the Shadows seemed to be decreasing steadily at times, even without attacks.

As I stay under the monitor
              Guiding humans towards the monster
I know they will prevail, they always do
As I hold my heart and revive
I had long to see mankind survive

"I didn't mean any offense, Mrs. Desta. It was a joke, honest!" Alex waved his hands in front of him in a defensive manner, picking up on the unpleasant tone in Aly's voice. He would have to choose his words carefully with her, it seemed. Momoko--and many others--had always just ignored his teasing at worst, so having his casual statements met with hostility was new for him. The most he could do was work on improving her impression of him. He had a feeling that she didn't like him much. "Still, balancing an entire company, military work, and a marriage must be hard work! I'm impressed, to say the least."

"You'd be surprised at how many people manage something similar. Kohaku is working to take over her family's business as well, isn't that right?" Also sensing the animosity between Aly and Alex forming, Momoko took the opportunity to try to smooth things over. If there was one thing that could lighten Aly's mood, it was definitely Kohaku. "As you said though, we should continue this conversation inside. It is getting a bit chilly as well, and I wouldn't want any of us to catch a cold." Although they were under a bit of shelter from the rain, it was all too possible for the wind to change direction, rendering their shelter useless. "I would appreciate it if you would be so kind as to lead the way, Mr. Flores. You have all the appropriate permissions and clearances, after all." Not only that, but it would be easier to speak with Aly more privately if the two maintained some distance from him. It wasn't that she necessarily didn't want him to overhear, but as none of it involved him in the slightest, she imagined it must have been boring for him.

As Alex began to lead the two of them off towards a waiting room of sorts, Momoko hung back for a moment with Aly to give him just the slightest of head starts. "I apologize if he offended you. He can be a bit...brash, from what I've seen." Momoko lowered her voice so that Alex couldn't hear; although Momoko was never one for gossiping behind people's backs, it only seemed appropriate to apologize on his behalf. "He's certainly not a bad person, and I believe he means well enough. So I'd like to thank you for keeping things civil... Not that I would expect any less, of course." Hopefully with that, moods will finally be placed at ease; it was clear from Alex's end that he didn't intend on repeating his mistake if he could help it.

Suffice to say, Kohaku was correct in what she was saying. Kuro did believe something like that should have been saved for marriage. He had actually wondered what would have happened if Mikan did become pregnant... It probably would have been a lot of work for no reason. Something that Kuro honestly didn't know if he was prepared for. He wasn't sure that Mikan would have been prepared for it either. It honestly wasn't the best time for him to talk about this type of thing but there was little he could do about that now. He had been frustrated about the situation ever since it had been happening. He raised an eyebrow at what Kohaku said next, realizing what she meant almost immediately. Even Kuro was slow sometimes. "Damn, I can see how it would be a bit complicated on your end, Kohaku." He said, laughing a little bit and rubbing the back of his head. Kuro really shouldn't have been guessing on what Kohaku meant but this woman was always full of mystery so he didn't want to step on anybody's toes by questioning her about it. They were friends and all but... that's precisely the reason why he didn't press very hard on anything she said. He understood that he shouldn't press his friends on things like that, even though she didn't seem too annoyed by it. Regardless, talking to Kohaku did actually seem to make him feel better. Even though the two of them didn't really come to a clear conclusion about what was bothering him, just talking to somebody actually did make him feel better. He sighed and nodded, holstering both of his guns on his side. "Yeah, it looks neither of us haven't gotten rusty. It'll be nice to spend some time together before we have to separate again." Shortly after Kuro said this, and smiled at his friend, his brows furrowed quickly at the entire situation. Kuro had an inkling to sense these things before they happened (especially since he had gotten his Persona) and unfortunately, their battle was not quite over yet. A shadow in front of them that took a strange form burst out of the pile of rubble, prompting Kohaku to hit it with one of the strongest fire moves ever and call the others over to them. They needed all the help they could get. Kuro ran to the side next to the creature, skidding across the ground. It had launched one of its attacks at Noelle, managing to actually hit her, frustrating him a little bit. Noelle was a tough girl though so she should have been fine. Kuro pointed his Evoker at his head, realizing that what Chikara was saying was right. They'll be a bigger target if they stay close together so he wanted to move away from it. Ragnarok was supposed to be an incredibly powerful fire move so why the hell was this thing still standing after taking all of that?

"Damn. Looks like you were right, Amaya. Thanks for the heads up." Axle told her, realizing that if he went ahead and moved from his position, he assumed he would he have suffered the same fate that Noelle did. She wasn't that hurt but hell, he didn't want to suffer such an embarrassing a**-whooping like he used to get in the past. As Kuro rushed to the creature's side, looking as professional as he ever did, he released his Persona, sending quite a shock down from the sky. A perfectly powerful Ziodyne but if Ragnarok hadn't done anything either, he was pretty sure that stupid shadow ate that attack like it did with the first thing. Axle watched everybody begin to mobilize, listening to what Chikara had to say. He was right. They were a bigger target if they stayed all around this thing as they had been. Axle looked around him quickly, realizing that he may be able to strike it from higher ground if he was able to get there. While he was pretty positive that his attack wouldn't really do anything to it, he could distract it long enough for someone else to attack it and destroy it. Axle eventually saw there was a set of building quite close to the area, quickly summoning his Persona, as Uchuu Nike threw him up there. Axle landed a bit shakily, readying himself to attack, pulling back his spear. Just as he was about to, suddenly something else appeared in front of them from out of... nowhere it seemed. Axle raised an eyebrow at it, as a woman-like figure stepped out of the shadows. Axle assumed it was another enemy until... boom, it started to attack the creature, striking down a scythe through its body. "Whoa!" Axle said, confused at what or who that was. "Chikara, do we have a new ally or something?" Axle asked, right before a tendril from the shadow came out of nowhere. This thing was definitely not out for the count, as Axle quickly swiped at it, destroying its tendril. Axle quickly put his Evoker to his head and just as he was about to release it, a few more tendrils came at the building he was on top of, destroying it into pieces. Axle managed to jump off just as the building started to crumble, using the pieces of broken rumble to jump off of. When he was ready, he launched himself high into the air and released his Persona. He and his Persona soared down from the sky, a green wind covering their entire bodies. Both he and his Persona clashed with the large shadow, working in complete sync with one another. It was clear the impact had hurt the shadow, but this thing was just becoming a nuisance, managing to defend itself from the brunt of the attack. Axle and his Persona pressed against it, being able to keep it at bay for the moment, but this shadow was especially strong... It made no sense. Why was it so powerful? Eventually, the shadow got the upper hand, throwing both Axle and his Persona away from it. Just as Axle hit the ground, his ACE wear covered his entire body, saving him from most of the hard impact as he slid backwards. "This thing is surprisingly good at withstanding all of our attacks. It actually... almost seems manufactured." Readying himself again, he wanted to watch this things movements a little bit more before he attacked again... He wanted to make sure of something.
