Many years ago, a dark taint filled the lands and seas. The skies, blackened by the ashes of destruction rising from the fallen and dead, were blocked from all light. The soil began to wither, plants fell with no light to feed their hunger, no rain to quench their thirst, and people where thrown into chaos. At the edge of oblivion, divinity reared its head in protection of the mortal lands. The rainbow goddess, fearing for the lives of her subjects, banished the darkness from the world and gave unto them the shining town, Haven. Protected always by the sign of her trust, the eternal rainbow which shines forever over head. But even with such generosity, all would not be well. For where light dares not tread, darkness still lives, only a half the world could be held in the light, though the destruction was banished. Where a sun sets, the moon must rise, and in it's wake, the Lunar God, a malevolent and hating being. His eye always watching his lunar kingdom. Though Haven is protected when night reaches their side of the world, the rest is not. Forever he watches the one city keeping his from having a complete, if only subtle, control over the mortal plains, and it is his intention to get it.

Jain yawned, rubbing his eyes to try and keep himself awake. It had been a busy New Years eve for him. Just a few hours a go the bar was busy with lots of patrons to serve. Now, the last of them were just leaving, and Jain was busy wiping down the tables and chairs and collecting the dirty mugs to be washed. He sighed heavilly. He had come to hate the hollidays because of the loss of his family, but he did his best to not be bitter. He didn't have many friends either. All he had known from an early age was bartending, and he was damn good at it. He made enough money for him to live off of, but he spent most of his time working to keep the bar going. And when he wasn't doing that, he kept himself busy with manufacturing and selling his brews. He so dearly desired that family life. Perhaps he had lost his parents, but that would'nt stop him from starting a family of his own, should the right woman come along.
