Nowhere is safe, the land has become a battle zone in a war for survival. Even the innocence of civilization could not escape. Malls, stores, homes, all lay in wastes as the destruction rages. Like a bacteria, the struggle spreads. Infecting everything it crosses, leaving nothing behind. Fires of war burn, craters scar the land...can the world even hope to be restored?
Las Vegas, following the Great War between the U.S., China as a conventional and nuclear war that occurred on October 22 - October 23, 2077, and lasted less than two hours, despite causing immense damage and destruction. Before the Great War was the Resource Wars, during which the United Nations disbanded, a plague rendered the United States paranoid, and Canada was annexed. The city of Las Vegas itself wasn't hit as hard as most of the other districts, with most buildings being left intact as a result. The Hoover Dam supplies free electricity and water to those who control it..

Details to keep in mind
Read this, it's just like the rules...if you know what I mean.

Remember, they don't call it a wasteland for nothing.

In terms of reality, I would like it to be pretty accurate. So unless your superman, you cannot carry two LMG's, three sub-machine guns, a bazooka, and just be on your merry way. No. Think about a human being's capabilities.

No super mutant submissions, restricted to humans and ghouls.

I won't apply a battle system, I trust you'll all write responsibly. This means not auto-hitting, no extreme feats to avoid gunfire (I.E. matrix stuff) or knowing the enemy's weakness right off the bat. If i see anything like this happening, and if i don't, I have mods that will, If either the mods or i see any 'shoot, duck, shoot, cover, shoot' for several pages, I'm going to step in, and side with the person who's writing more sensibly. So please, for the sake of the rp, don't be like that.

Wounds. There's a snowballs chance in hell your character is to go through this and come out unscathed. With hot pieces of led coming at you at hundreds of feet per second, you won't be able to just jump out of the way...there's a good chance you'll get hit.

So, if you do get wounded, and you will, it's going to be an inconvenience to your character. You can't get shot in the arm or leg and still be going in guns'a'blazin. It's going to take it's toll on you, whether it be you lose your grip on your weapon of fall to the ground. Imagine it, your not going to be the next track star with a 7.56mm round in your thigh.

The severity of the wound determines the treatment/ You get shot, your going to need to remove the bullet either by yourself or someone else, clean the wound, bandage it up, and seek medical aid. Because frankly, kisses won't help anymore. Of course, you won't JUST get shot. there of hundreds of other ways, burns, broken limbs, cuts, bruises, poisoning, sprains, hell, even fatigue. All need to be handled accordingly. Things like cuts and scrapes aren't anything more than annoying and wont slow you down. But if something happens like you break your leg, you wont be able to just shake it off...

You may have companions, but only one.

Naah, I think the title of the pm should be 'Sugar Bombs' so I know you've read everything.

Things like NCR veteran rangers will be carefully looked at. I want to see good bio's and evenly balanced weaponry etc, when submitting characters like these. Just because we don't need a dozen Veteran rangers running around.

Please, if there ANYTHING you would like to add to the plot or weapons, places, etc. I encourage you to talk about it in the OOC thread or PM me directly and we can talk about it.

You may include Fallout 3 weapons in your profile

UNIQUE WEAPONS
Your character may have one unique weapon if you desire. However, since they are unique, not everyone can have them. Once a weapon from this list is chosen, it is no longer available. First come first serve. However, you have to include just how you came across this weapon. It will have no impact on 'damage' since there is no battle system, it's more for looks.

Victor
The first 'Burned Man'☣
'How bad you want it....?'

Victor lay on his stomach....he was cradled between two medium sized boulders...rocks..whatever people called them..what he called them didn't matter, what did matter was they protected him on both of his sides, and nestled him perfectly so his body was nice and snug....not only did that mean he was shielded from both sides, in case one decided to attempt to end his life..(Which was highly unlikely, seeing as how almost no one wandered away from the cities, and Victor himself was quite a ways away.)

But it always meant that his rifle would not sway, with the help of a makeshift bi pod he crafted out of scrap pieces of metal, Victor had almost complete control of his rifle, he could take sway out of the equation, when sniping from a distance in the wasteland, a sniper's biggest enemy was the almost constant high winds...that was the main reason there were almost no snipers in the wasteland anymore...so many mindless idiots had lost the talent or coordination to fire a weapon not directly aimed at the target...but Victor was certainly not one of those idiots...to add to his accuracy, he stared down the scope of his Anti-material rifle..a heavy caliber weapon...the winds had virtually no effect on the rifle's rounds...

Victor stared down his scope... adjusted, so at even this distance, the citizens of Boulder city were crystal clear. He searched each face he came across that entered his sights..Victor had his weapon trained on the main street of boulder city...of all the places in the heavily populated town..that street was where the man he was looking for most frequently sighted...and Victor had been waiting for the past three hours...there were already a few people there..but they didn't matter....suddenly, he spotted the man he was looking for...Blake Bodzinski...an NCR ranger, he had been hiding out in boulder city for the past five years...and Victor had finally tracked him down...Blake opened the door to the saloon...Just as he was about to disappear, Victor lined up the cross hairs "See you in hell.." he whispered, pulling the trigger...the kickback from his rifle was severe, but Victor's shoulder no longer felt it...he watched as Blake's head exploded all over the people next to him...normally, the man's body would have exploded if he hadn't cut down the power...he wanted at least SOME of his body left so get a little memento..

The saloon residents screamed, no knowing where the shot came from, the bartender drew his weapon...along with the few others that did have a weapon...but most tried to get away as quickly as possibly...Victor slowly stood up, in doing so, his scope reflected the sunlight, a glint appeared for a moment, before he slung the rifle over his shoulder and made his way to the town...it was about an hour later Victor appeared in the streets of Boulder city..by now, he saw they tossed the body behind an abandoned alley...slowly, he approached the body...crouching down, resting his elbows on his knees to look over the body.."Ain't so tough now are ya you son of a b***h?" he let out a course chuckle as he ripped the dog tags from his neck, and clenched his fist around it....

From within the rock formations of what was the Boulder City Ruins came the frequent sounds of rocks tumbling off of each other and various grunts and verbal language following. Such sounds could only come from a man who was fully donned in Reinforced Combat Armor and who seemed to be having a peachy time trying to move heavy rocks and debris to locate what he can in the means of treasure or random knick-knacks. This was the job of Ryan O'Connor who as of late had just become a self-employed merchant and a gun for hire, yet in his down-time had a fascination for exploring ruins and housing developments in search for any high priced items he could find. This kind of ordeal was an everyday thing for Ryan as he would start as early as seven in the morning and finish around nine o'clock when things would get dark and visibility would become tough. He would take breaks every now and then for drinks and food but his primary focus was all about making caps as his life depended on buying and selling items to restock on food and drink as well as repairing for his weapons and ammunition to keep them working and ready for anything. His current objective now however was to find as many bobby pins as he could as much treasure he encountered were hidden within locked crates and storage devices which proved to often be a struggle for him as he was the type to just shoot a lock rather then put work into wedging the lock apart or picking the lock to open it correctly.

His attention on his work however was side-tracked when the sound of a collective amount of screams and shrieks would break the usual silence of town and complaints about a murder would soon follow. Stopping his work for a second to place a hand on his 10mm Sub-Machine Gun and hop across fallen rocks to peer around a seemingly large enough corner wall to see what he could find in the means of destruction, the crimson sight of what looked to be a new paint job on the doors of the Boulder City Saloon would indicate that either the murder happened close by, or someone with impressive accuracy was able to splatter whoever died's head across the wall to send a message. Either way Ryan took it as an opportunity to become curious as to what the guy had on his inventory and following the crowd into the nearest alleyway, Ryan noticed a man donning a menacing black attire would soon show up, crouching next to the body and whispering signs of a successful threat or insult to the downed man which indicated to Ryan that it was indeed, a set-up or planned murder after all. Watching as the man took the dog tags from the dead guy and clutched them in his hands. Ryan smirked a bit and walked over the the body just to see what he could find but also to get clearance from the mysterious looking guy first. "Having fun? I doubt those dog tags will be worth anything but if you don't mind I wanna' loot this guy to see what he has just in case I can sell something for a couple pretty caps. Man's gotta' make a living" Ryan asked the guy and crouched down next to the dead body on one knee while exchanging his attention between the guy and the dead body frequently.

Victor still crouched over the headless body of the former NCR ranger, the pair of dog tags in his fist..the thin chain that held them together draped down from in between his fingers. It was satisfying really...after the waiting, the tracking, the things he had to do, the injuries he had adorned to get the right information...all to lead up to this....Bodzinski had been one of the many Rangers sent to kill him...they had encountered a number of times, each time, Bodskiksi had managed to escape his grasp while Victor was forced to retreat because Bodzinski had reinforcements or just some rabid big horn happened to be on the rampage...either way, it was now Victor who had won. The dead NCR soldier was not wearing his Veteran armor...mostly likely due to retirement...but he knew his face...

Suddenly, Victor was interpreted when heard a voice behind him. Taken by surprise, as he was caught up over his kill, he quickly brought his hand to the grip of his Sequoia, turning halfway as his duster gave with his hand, reveling his side underneath the duster he wore...including the Sequoia. The only thing that stopped Victor from removing the weapon from it's holster was the man's words and appearance. He relaxed slightly, but did not take his hand off of his weapon....the was the Mojave....almost as bad as the Capital wasteland he had come from...but the rules were pretty much the same...trust no one. The man noted that the dog tags weren't worth much...and he was right, outside of the NCR..dog tags were nothing but small, bits of metal..scrap. Just from what the man had said, Victor could tell he was a merchant...as from his interest in looting the body for things to sell...though he had said he wanted to loot the body, he also had seen Victor take the tags....which meant he had been watching...this only made Victor more cautious...he had a bounty...he he couldn't take chances...the man asked for consent to loot the body...which was odd...if he had been watching, then he could have looted the body, and have been long gone before Victor came....that only told Victor the man held interest in just what was going on. Though he was cautious...Victor turned back to the body and retrieved Bodzkinski's house key, and the Sequoia hidden under his shirt...then, stood and nodded to the body. "knock yourself out." he said simply, and stepped away from the body to place the key into his pocket. Victor took the Sequoia he had received from the body and flipped open the loader...fully loaded..then one by one, took out the ammunition before placing the now empty gun at his side, the ammo went into his pack...as for the dog tag, he would wait to add it to the number of others he wore under his chest armor...

Watching the man's actions as he took a few things from the body himself, Ryan didn't see anything from what the man took as worth while besides the gun and the ammunition the guy took but once he was given clearance to loot the guy, Ryan took it into mind and started to search. Upon trying pockets and such, Ryan found a good couple of bottle caps as well as a few bobby pins here and there, but what he was most interested in was the utility belt of the fallen NCR Ranger to which he unbuckled from the body and stood up to search. Inside he found a few more bottle caps and bobby pins but there wasn't anything in the means of ammunition or food besides a few rogue pieces of Bubblegum and a crushed box of Cram. Shrugging, Ryan decided he would take the utility belt for his own personal use and buckled it around his own waist, tightening it so that it fit his waist perfectly and allowed him to move around freely without pinching or pressing into his back or abdomen if he were to lean back or bend over. Looking about the alleyway and finding a nearby dumpster, Ryan dragged the body over to the large metal structure and opened the lid, carefully tossing the body into the dumpster as to not get any blood on himself then closed the lid upon successful disposal of the body. Walking over to the dark-armored guy, Ryan simply shrugged and replied "Sorry about that, someone had to take out the trash" then went about heading back in the direction of the ruins he was at before.

Upon returning Ryan thought in his head about how he wasn't sure how long the Cram would keep and how long the man had it in possession for so his immediate thought was to take a break and find shade to relax for well needed food. Huddling up in the corner behind a slightly held together corner that connected two eroded walls, Ryan crossed his legs and placed his back against the wall while he took out the smashed box of cram and peeled the top off, taking a look at the processed meat and tried to find any indentation of decay or mold. Not finding anything of the sort, Ryan simply placed the meat between his teeth and tore off a piece to chew on, not really ever getting used to the taste of it and considering it a bit on the salty side for his liking but nowadays he had no room to talk about fancy dining due to how hard it was to even survive. He wasn't the type to take anything for granted but he always had a complaint to make about this or that, Ryan considered it his way of expressing his feelings with how ******** up the world was at the moment and how freedom of speech was something he was very fond of. Placing the processed meat back between his teeth after chewing and swallowing his previous portion, he tore off a bigger size this time and chewed upon it taking his time while surveying the ruins from a seated positioning and wondering where he should target his exploration tactics next if he really wanted to find anything. He understood the probability that the people who formed Boulder City probably looted everywhere to put the city together and give the merchants something to sell but Ryan always had hope that if he were to move rocks and destroyed wall fragments around he was bound to at least find something.

Victor didn't pay too much attention to the man as he looted the dead NCR ranger...but did keep and eye on him...there wasn't such a thing as being too careful in the world he lived in..he did not want the man to see the Sequoia, only Veteran rangers that had served twenty years within the NCR received such a weapon...it truly was impressive...the two headed bear and star was plated in gold on the grip...and gold engravings decorated the sides...not only was it highly decorative...it was extremely powerful, a single round enough to out down a full grown fire gecko..it was one of the highest honors you could receive within the NCR...if you had one, everyone respected you..even your commanding officers.

Victor had only collected a few of them...other than the one he carried with him, he had only two more...including the one he held in his hands..quickly, he hid the Sequoia within his duster, he knew the man would be able to tell Bodzinski was NCR, just by some of the equipment on the body...but he didn't need to know that he was a former veteran ranger...or had a sequoia...he quietly watched the man dump the body into a nearby dumpster.. admittedly, it made a slightly chuckle emit from his throat. Victor followed the man out of the alley, he would have to get out of Boulder City...he had no place in it...but he would have to see the ranger's house before he went...he knew he wouldn't be able to take everything...he then turned his head to see the man, and got an idea that would benefit them both. It took a bit, but Victor soon found the same man huddled in a corner of the ruins..he stood a bit of ways away, then flashed the house key. Then called out to him"The man's house..once I'm done with it, you can have the key..take whatever you want.."he shook the key a little.

Finishing up the Cram within a few minutes later, Ryan basically unfolded all of the flaps to the box so that he could flatten it and fold it to condense it into a easier trashed item then popped the Bubblegum he found off of the dead guy into his mouth. Chewing the gum until it became soft, he remembered the taste of it from when he was a kid and the sugary, sweet taste it brought at least reminded him of good childhood memories. Looking over however as the same guy he encountered from before displayed a set of keys and basically jangled them almost harmoniously, Ryan nodded as the man informed him that he could loot what he wanted from the guys house after he was done and this alone but a slight smirk on his face as he could only imagine what would be inside an actual owned household and what he could sell. Standing up and brushing the dirt and debris off of his body, Ryan hoped over rock formations to join the guy's side and wait for his mark to start walking towards the guy's house. In his mind he was thinking of the idea of more food to eat, more supplies to use. How he could use scrap metal to formulate weapon mods and possible armor enhancements, shields, whatever he could make. The possibilities of what the two might find were almost too good to think about and from a merchants point of view, this house could mean big bottle caps.

Taking out his 10mm Sub-Machine Gun and holding it in his right hand, Ryan nodded to the guy as he was ready to investigate the household and what might become of the travels, never being too cautious as to what he could encounter since there has been times in which assaults from behind and ambushes were always at stake. Figuring he should at least get to know this guy since he was helping him a slight bit with his findings and such, Ryan switched the gun from his right hand to his left momentarily and extended his right hand to offer a handshake to the gentleman. "My apologies for the lack of introduction. My work and my mind tend to be very offset and indecisive as of late. My name is Ryan O'Connor. I'm as you probably guessed a Merchant and a Scavenger. Not one of those desperate ones though. I like to think of the title as.. amateur Treasure Hunter of sorts" Ryan said brandishing a small smirk, hoping the guy was at least as friendly or somewhat sociable as he was. Ryan had partners and has been teamed up with people in the past and the most popular one's he had were Anti-Social and didn't like to talk much which was complete opposite of Ryan as there was a fine line of talking too much and talking too little and Ryan simply liked to have conversation to pass the time and make the traveling seem more enjoyable.
