A large expanse of beach will be the first thing you see. To your right it seems to go on forever. To your left it comes to an abrupt end at a cliff that juts into and over the sea. Vines hang down from it's edge but they are too far up and too thin to climb. Ahead you see the forest line, or you would if there was not thick shrubs protecting the inner forest or jungle from the casual observer. It's hard to tell, though the thick low lying plant life seems to come from a jungle. The sky line offers little more than clouds. Except, if you squint, you might see a shimmering thing. You think it may be some sort of Pokemon, but you are unsure. It doesn't move. Maybe you also see a mountain but the cloud cover seems to prevent any better view. Or maybe it's the island trying to hide itself.

Beside an impromptu stage lies a small base camp. Someone, with the help of a Pokemon, cut into the plant life at the forest edge creating a space for a small camp. It has a pavilion with a Pokemon Center sign above it. Beside it is another pavilion, no sign adorns it but you do notice a selection of potions and pokeballs on display. Good, you don't have to take the long boat ride to the mainland for supplies. Some of the tents seem to stand empty for those who wish safety over adventure. Hope you brought camping supplies...

tab Pᴀʏ ᴀᴛᴛᴇɴᴛɪᴏɴ ɴᴏᴡ
A speech is given about the island, what is offered, and what they know. A man passes around a bulky electronic device. It may remind you of Kanto's Pokedex. You receive the startling news that none of your electronics work on the island. At this point you may test it, but what they tell you is true. Your C-Gear is useless. But they tell you that the bulky thing they gave you is a communicator. With it you can talk to anyone on the island. It also includes a map, which would be more useful if the island was already mapped. At least until you learn that as you explore it makes notes of basic things like elevation, coordinates, and some terrain. On top of that it updates every night so, by morning, you can see where other trainers have explored. You can also make notes on the map of interesting locations and if the pan out Blazonics will give you a prize. Whether in cash or items. Useful. It also includes the ability to scan plants. It only offers basic information on them such as if they are edible, poisonous, useful for healing etc. Lastly you are told that there will be a news report every few hours. It will offer major weather, events on and off the island, interesting locations, and dangers to look out for.

Before you start to worry about what the lack of working communications can mean you learn that any pokemon you catch will go to your box, you just cannot access them. It seems they do not have the access point to the box set up on the island. Well at least you know the Pokemon you catch will arrive safe.

You also learn the only way on and off the island is through the ship you arrived on. Or the path it takes, they do not clarify. If you attempt to go by sea or air anywhere else you will be turned around inexplicably going back the way you came. You are told that it is a part of the island's defenses. Fascinating. Then they tell you the island is huge, yeah right. How can an island that big be undiscovered for so long? Though the more important question would be why does an island need defenses to begin with? What is it hiding? They tell you about a veil, giving spotty information. It hid the island, they found a way through it, now go explore. Maybe it sounds sketchy. Maybe you are too excited to pay attention. Or care. With the parting comment that this was the only base camp on the island you are told to have fun and be careful.

You are either already in the island interior, most likely with a small team, or posing as a trainer/adventurer and ignoring the speech. These people are just diversions and unwitting help for your organization's glorious plans. Team Blaze, under the guise of Blazonics, drew them here. They have a few uses, these adventurers, and Blazonics plans to make good use of it's resources. If you are posing as a trainer/adventurer it is to further confuse and distract the Advenrur's here so they never catch on to the master plan. Which you will get into later. First you take a moment to go over what you know...

You know the island is huge. Bigger than it has any right to be. There is some speculation about pockets of space and pathways but only the egg heads talk about it. Honestly you don't really understand, or care. You know the Veil was created by the Legendary Pokemon to hide the island. Not just a few, but all of them. You aren't sure why, but you can guess. The Legendary Pokemon are actively defending the island, hence the purpose of these people. They chased your landing forces off. Annoying. You know the 'news' that Team Blaze will feed the Adventurer's is meant to either distract them from an area or pull them to it. Sure there will be truth to it, too many lies and they will become suspicious. You are confident they will never find out. None of them even know they are being manipulated.

Finally, and most importantly, you know the true purpose to your presence on the Island. The Legendary Pokemon might have drawn you here, but you are only after the Arceus Stone. A stone of legendary powers. You aren't sure what it does, your bosses must know, but it's powerful. What more could you ask for?

You might have heard rumors about human looking Pokemon. Or humans that look like Pokemon. Most likely you scoff at these rumors. None of that exists outside of fairy tales...

You have lived a peaceful life so far. A few trouble makers among your fellow Gijinka but nothing serious. Humans are a myth to you, if you know about them at all. Your villager is at the center of the island in a crater that was made a long long time ago. Age has worn the sides down though it also opens into a large lake. A rock formation hides the village from a casual observer on the shores, though the lake is so large that it is hard to see the opposite shore. The sides of the crater have crumbled to steep cliffs, if one were to fall from such a height they would die. The only way into the crater is by flight, climbing the vines that tumble into the crater, or by the lake entrance.

There has never been a leader of the Gijinka, it is what you call yourselves, never have you needed one. They have a speaker, a communicator, who talks to the Legendaries when they need to. They discuss the state of the Island, how the village is doing, and a great many other things. Gijinka and Pokemon work together to make your village a prosperous place.

There is a story of how the Gijinka came to be, but it's nothing but a myth to you. Just like the humans the story claims your ancestors were...

Long ago humans stumbled upon the island, unaware of it's power. It was uninhabited by man and the people decided to camp for the night. They would explore it in the light of day. Upon awakening they found themselves in different forms. They had combined with their Pokemon companions. The people were shocked and frightened. Some of them started destroying the island in rage, some cried horribly, and others basked in the glory of their new abilities. Though after a time they realized that what happened to them could happen to others. They decided that it must be stopped, or at least controlled. In their search for both a way to stop the power from working on unsuspecting travelers and a cure they ran into the Legendaries. To their surprise they could understand these Legendary Pokemon. In a long discussion with these wise and powerful Pokemon they learned that the process was irreversible. But they could stop it from working on others. In the end they decided to hide the island and create the Arceus Stone. They realized they could never return to the lands of man, no one would accept them. So they learned to live on the island in peace with the guardians.

If you have lived here all of your life then you know more about the secret corners than anyone else. But humans are a mystery to you, maybe a rumor from the others who are too wary to approach anything that resembles human. Mostly you live in blissful ignorance of Pokeballs. Or perhaps you long for a companion that some of the foreign Pokemon speak of. Not all humans are bad after all.

If you found a path to the Island you are quite lucky. A new place to explore, new Pokemon to meet, maybe even meet a Legendary!

If you are here with your human companion then you may know as much as they do. Or simply do not care enough to listen to the humans talk. It's not as if you can hold a conversation with them.

So, as long as it's not trying to communicate off the island your electronics should be good.

tab Ａ TMs are a thing and they will work on the island. HMs are not as I don't really see the use for them. Your birds can fly, your water Pokemon can swim and carry you with them. So yeah, but if you want to use the attack 'Fly' then yes they must know the move. Okay?
