The Bird Trio
The Legendary Bird Trio is a trio of pokemon that originated in Kanto and as their name suggests, they resemble birds. One of Ice, one of fire, and one of thunder; all are powerful and said to be the spirit of each season. Though, one begs the question where the fourth season hides. Humans recently began speculating that the trio may have a fourth unknown member. Although, despite seeing all three of these legendary creatures in different lands... the fourth bird has never been found... so no one even knows if it exists..
Articuno
Bird of Winter
Articuno, the Bird of Winter is known to live in isolated, cold locations in the world. The two locations where Articuno are said to roost are Seafoam Islands and Ice Island, in the Shamouti Island Chain; an Articuno in Sinnoh is known to roam the skies though, proving that it can withstand warmer climates. Articuno can be recognized by it's blue plumage which is unique to it as a bird pokemon and streamer like tail. It is said that if it snows in an unusual time, it is an Articuno that's at fault. Articuno tends to be more passive due to it's isolated locations.
Zapdos
Bird of Summer
Zapdos, the Bird of Summer is almost never seen in any other place than Thunder Storm Clouds. It's said that the crackling of thunder is a result of the creature flapping it's wings and that the lighting bolts are shed from it's spiky feathers. Therefore, it is associated with summer storms. A Zapdos is said to live in the abandoned electric plant in Kanto, though no one dares go there. There also seems to be a Zapdos residing in Lighting Island, in the Shamouti Islands. Zapdos seemes to be more fierce then the rest of it's kin.
Moltres
Bird of Spring
Said to be the bringer of Spring, Moltres has fire hot enough to burn man to ash in a single fell. If injured, it will immerse itself in lava to heal. In one instance during Red's first Pokemon League Challenge; The spirit of Moltres was able to protect him from harm from a single flame which fanned out into a silhouette of the bird raising the question of it being able to project itself through it's own fire, Moltres is fairly Noble, not caring either way for aggression or pacifism. Moltres, like it's bird brethern are very rare pokemon. That being siad, Moltres has been sighted in Victory Road several times attributing the nickname 'spirit of the pokemon league' as well as in the Sevii Islands, Fire Island in the Shamouti Island Chain and even Mt. Silver.
The Mew Twins
The Mew Twins are named so due to genetic similarities as a result of Mewtwo being cloned from Mew. Unlike the Birds, there are only one of each in the entire world and they are said to be ageless. They are both powerful psychic users.
Mewtwo
The Psychic Maelstrom
Cloned from Mew to be a superior genetic duplicate, Mewtwo is regarded by many people as the strongest pokemon in existence. Mewtwo has been wandering the Globe ever since it escaped from Blaine. It was originally defeated and captured with a Master Ball that Red had however, it escaped during a training session one day with Blaine. People who come in contact with it report fierce eyes and being manipulated with it's telekinetic powers. Consumed by Rage, Mewtwo is just another problem to worry about with the Eclipse Virus about.
Mew
The Psychic Mirage
The Legendary Pokemon said to have spawned all pokemon, Mew's signature capability is Mastery of every pokemon move in the world. It's so rare, it's widely accepted that it's long since extinct however, people still insist that they've sighted it only for it to whisk itself away on sight. It can turn invisible, morph and is said to contain within it every Pokemon's DNA.
The Beast Trio
The legendary beasts have variously been referred to as legendary dogs or cats, but beasts is the accepted neutral title. These speedy, powerful creatures were created by Ho-Oh after the burning of Brass Tower; because they are unable to restrain their extreme power, they race headlong around the land. They can be found racing around the Johto and Kanto. Though they are very rare to come by. They are all known to be able to communicate telekinetically.
Raikou
The Lightining Nimbus
Raikou zips around the Johto and Kanto regions in the form of lightning in the sky during heavy storms. Whenever lighting strikes, it is said that Raikou just put it's paw down to the ground in a steadfast sprint. Raikou appears in physical form when great danger is upon itself but otherwise keeps running to discharge it's overabundant energy.
Entei
The Volcanic Aterui
Entei is said to have been birthed from a Volcano although, whether Ho-Oh actually created the pokemon on the spot or reincarnated them in unique ways is uncertain. Nevertheless, this fiery pokemon races across the land. Some people attribute good deeds to Entei's name, believing fire to be a symbol of honor. It is said that whenever Entei roars with anger, Volcano's around the world erupt.
Suicune
The Racing Purifier
For a long time, people have misunderstood Suicune vastly. It is however known that Suicune is a nobel pokemon and would seek no harm to humans... or any other creature. Suicune has the power to purify dirty water and can walk across water as well. Northern winds always seems to blow where ever it shows up. Because Suicune is the embodiment of the north winds, it is able to learn and use almost every attack with relation to the wind. Suicune, like the other Legendary Beasts, is also extremely fast; though it is said to be the second fastest due to Raikou's lightning. It was thought that it travels the world challenging trainers who it things are worthy of mastering it however, in actuality it just loves a good challenge on it's way to the next body of water it needs to purge of filth.
The Tower Duo
These two additional magnificient birds of legend are referred to as the tower duo due to the fact that before the burning of the Brass Tower, they each perched atop a tower. These powerful legendaries are thought to be closely related, although they are also polar opposites.
Lugia
The Guardian of The Sea
Lugia is known as the Guardian of The Sea and can be likened to Tsukiyomi. It is represented by the color Silver and the Moon. It's said that by flapping it's wings it can cause storms for forty days and forty nights. Lugia is known in Shamouti for being the beast that quells the three birds quarreling. It once perched upon a tower however, it's tower burnt down and it fled to Whirl Islands. Lugia, unlike most legendary pokemon have been observed with offspring.
Ho-oh
The Guardian of the Skies
Ho-oh, Guardian of the Skies is famous for it's ability to resurrect the dead. It's most famous resurrection was of the three pokemon that died in the fire that burned down brass Tower. It's said that Ho-oh used the thunderbolt that destroyed the tower, the fire that engulfed the tower and the water the quelled the fire to resurrect the dead pokemon into the Legendary Beasts. Ho-oh searches the globe in search of a trainer with a pure heart for an unknown reason and has for almost 730 years.
The Legendary Golems
The Legendary Golems have been sighted multiple times in comparison to the other legendary pokemon. The Golems typically inhabit abandoned caves and more then one of each have been seen in different locations. No one knows where in the caves the rest since, whenever a confirmed sighting is searched they are mysteriously no where to be found. It is believed that they are typically guarding something since every sighting has been related to the area receiving damage to which a Golem will come out of hiding and fight off intruders. They all have the remarkable ability to learn Zap Cannon despite their types.
Regirock
The King of Rock
Regirock are typically sighted around the rockiest caves. It is theorized that it uses the abundant rock-source as it's diet though, no one has ever observed a Regirock eating. The question of if it even needs to eat rises since it appears to have no internal organs. This was founded in a battle when a trainer completely dismembered the pokemon, only for it to use rocks around it to rebuild it's body.
Regice
The King of Ice
Regice usually lives in icy caverns. Like Regirock, it's theorized that it uses the ice as sustenance. Regice cloaks itself in air that is -328 degrees Fahrenheit and because of it, it can survive even in molten lava for short periods of time. Despite this however, the fire that pokemon produce still seem to inflict damage. No one has ever determined the difference of the two fires.
Registeel
The King of Steel
Registeel also lives in caves of it's elements abundance. Typically iron ore mines. It's notorious for ruining humans mining expeditions in search of this useful ore and it's believed that it is it's food source as well. Despite it's name and typing, Registeel has been confirmed to be made of metal much harder. Like it's siblings, it rigorously defends it's territory without hesitation no matter what.
Regigigas
The King of Giants
Regigigas is fabled to have moved continents with it's sheer brute strength. It has shown the power to control the other golems and unlike it's subjects it is unique. There has only ever been one Regigigas in the entire world and it tends to disappear once it's found. In the snowpoint temple in Sinnoh, there is a life-size statue of the pokemon.
The Eon Twins
Latias and Latios are twin Dragons, one female, one male, respectively. They have the ability to project what they are seeing to other people and change into humans. According to legend, they once guarded a city known as Alto Mare and were revered as Gods but, Alto Mare suddenly sunk into the ocean when the Eclipse Virus took over.
Latias
The Crimson Eon
Latias although more timid than Latios likes humans very much. She finds them about as curious as we find her and she often shape-shifts into young girls in order to play with us. If you meet a particularly silent but energetic girl, she might be a Latios in disguise.
Latios
The Cobalt Eon
Latios is much more abrasive than it's twin sister. He may first come off as arrogant and aggressive but he does not like to fight. When exposed to a compassionate heart his anger is quelled and he becomes loyal to those whom he trusts.

As you curiously follow the now moving boat with your eyes, you see it heading to an exceptionally rough patch of water filled with raging Gyarados and Fearow and other such pokemon but, the most profound aspect was probably the spherical manifestation floating above the ocean, black in color and resembling a sun. Little did anyone know, it would later become known as a terror to the world of Pokemon; The Eclipse Sun.
centered on the boat, all the pokemon paused as they glaringly approached the boat. "Volkner! That's your cue!" the women shouted frightened by what would seem as unusually discolored pokemon, were they all shiny? No, all these Pokemon's Shiny forms were not jet black like the coats on the Pokemon at present. "Volkner!?" her shrill voice questioned but, Volkner was nowhere to be found. Another cry of fear came from the camera men as they backed away from the Magnemite on the boat which seemed to be struggling. 
"Magne... Magnet--" it tried to say it's own name, as if to warn the trainers of the danger to come, as if they could leave the boat, they were halfway to Sootopolis. "Magneterror.." the pokemon finally let out as it took on a new, terrible form it seeped with a strange sludge and it's magnets seemed to have sunken into its body. As the world around you disappears for the last time, consumed by eternal darkness you hear the cries of the team of reporters as their slaughtered by their own pokemon.
