"What's with this forest. I mean, I've been walking for hours in a straight line and we still haven't come out a Pewter yet.. It's a total drag." Our new trainer complained as he headed through the forest. "I just can't believe it's nightfall already, that's just annoying.. maybe I should just camp out here."

"Aabraaaaaa..." The pokemon yawned, turning it's head in the direction of some rustling grass.

"What's that, Abra? A Pokemon?" Unburdened by any possible threat, Quinn simply turned to face the bush, his hands still in his pockets and raised an eyebrow out of curiosity. "I wonder if it'll be something interesting for me." 'Bellsprout, the Plant Pokemon. Bellsprout precede there evolutions of Weepingbell and Victreebell. They can channel their roots through the ground to trip up their opponents or spit a toxic poison from their mouths. Bellsprout Trainers will flock to a tower in Johto called Sprout Tower which is believed to be built a round a massive Bellsprout that died long ago.' Dexter admitted as the pokemon came out into view. "Bellsprout, huh? Not really my style." he noted to himself. "But I suppose Abra could use the warm up, I'll capture it and send it to the Professor for study and whatever." He glanced to his left shoulder and pointed at the bellsprout.

Abra obediently teleported off of his shoulder and in front of him. It was ready to battle but, would it really be able to? For once, it was at Quinn's request that Dexter went off. 'Abra are very capable fighters. Despite being asleep, they can employ their telekinetic powers to fight anyway.' Quinn smiled a little "Now that's useful. Alright Abra, use your Shadow Ball attack." The abra simply turned it's head to the side and looked forward questionably. Dexter began to speak again. 'However, untrained Abra may ignore their inexperienced trainers completely if asleep. In most cases, a young Abra cannot use any other skill then Teleport without proper experience.' Quinn breathed heavily "Now he tells me.." Quinn seemed disappointed just as fast as he was glad.

"Bellsprout..." the wild pokemon uttered, sending it's roots through the ground, wrapping around Abra. 'Among it's Grassknot attack, Bellsprout are also very good with vine whip which they often use to put the squeeze on there opponents.'

"Your not helping Dexter, just tell me how Abra can defeat it." 'Abra is a psychic pokemon, your a trainer. Through Battle and THOUGHT any trainer can overcome any situation with any pokemon.' the mechanical voice expressed sarcasm in its speech. "Tch. Thanks alot. Abra Teleport behind it, keep doing that until it gets dizzy. " Abra began following his trainers command, one teleport after another and in a short amount of time the poor bellsprout was tuckered out. "Now finish it off by teleporting above it and allowing yourself to drop." As commanded, Abra did, creating the Body Slam technique something unusual for Abra to use. "Alright now.. Bellsprout, your mine.." he said lazily as he through his Poke-ball, dragging the injured into it with a flash of red light.

The Poke-ball shook as it's button glew red, left, right, left, right, this way and that way. Finally it stopped and with a smile, Quinn went to go pick it up when it popped open and sent the Poke-ball flying at Quinn's face allowing Bellsprout to flee. As the ball rolled off of Quinn's annoyed face he muttered something "Number one hated pokemon... Bellsprout is officially on my shitlist.." he said watching the pocket monster scamper back into the bushes. Abra, in the background chuckling a bit.

Quin quickly turned his annoyed gaze to his Abra. "You sayin' something Abra..." he said starkly causing the fox-esque pokemon to pretend to sleep as it held in it's laughter. ".. Didn't think so.." he commented as he picked up the unsuccessfully thrown poke-ball. He sighed, plopping down on the ground effortlessly with disappointment. "This sucks..." Quinn distastefully stated. What the hell could have even caused the Eclipse Virus anyway? Quinn leaned back, supporting his body weight by the palm of his hands as rested. For a while Quinn sat absent mindfully as he listened to the ambiance. It was so peaceful one might forget the catastrophe that was actually the present situation.

A tall, thin boy paced through the forest cautiously. He was a rather strange looking child. Wispy thin, with skin as white and smooth as porcelain, with droopy eyes. The black bags under his Oculus indicated that he didn't do much sleeping.
He shuffled his feet as he walked, he was clearly very nervous, but about what?
"Guys...? Guuuys~ Guys!!!!" he shouted, panic written all over his face.
The Boy, nicknamed Mouse, had been alone for hours now. He had let his Pokemon out for a stroll, but they got split up when they were attacked by a whole group of eclipse pokemon! This was not a good day for poor old mouse.

He was dressed appropriately, however. He wore a thick navy pea-coat buttoned all the way up to his chin, slim-fit black jeans and some sturdy brown boots. Covering his coarse black hair was a red woolly hat.

He slipped his hands in his pockets, and allowed his worried little eyes scan his surroundings, much like a rabbit would do. His best friend who he had been travelling was nowhere to be seen either, what if he needed help? What if he was hungry? Who'd cook him a nice tasty stew? That was Mouses job!

He bit his bottom lip and closed his eyes tight, listening hard for any indication of his pokemon's whereabouts.

"Nyooori~"

Mouse gasped. That cute gurgle! It was definitely his Swalot, he'd recognise that sound anywhere!
He ran towards the sound, a smile spread across his face.

Suddenly, he was ambushed!
Four Venonats jumped out of the bushes, but not just any ordinary venonats.
They were black, black as the night sky, and their red eyes were filled with hatred and rage.
Mouse screamed, spun on his heels and bolted off in the direction he came in.

As he ran, all he could hear was the thumping of his boots on the ground, his panting breath, and the click-click-clacking of the Venonat's pincers. He tripped and stumbled through the forest, he wasn't the fastest of boys, AND he was a smoker. He couldn't go on forever.

He mustered up all of his courage, from the very depths of his body, and shouted as loudly as he could.
"HEEEEEEEEELLP!!!~~~"

Quinn found himself annoyed when the quietness of nature that he so enjoyed was interrupted by another human voice. Naturally, he just tuned it out. He after all was not a hero, he was just a guy who wanted some peace and quiet and was willing to do the extreme to get it... such as take on this whole ridiculous quest. If it happened to make him a hero in the process eh, so be it. Suddenly though, his feeling changed when he heard the cry of a Venonat and not just one but several. If I capture a Venonat, it might be useful. I might even be able to have it train Abra on how to use a few moves. He stood up, Abra teleporting to his shoulder. "Well, I guess that's that then. Willing to give another pokemon a shot?" He questioned his pokemon "Abra..." The pokemon said opening it's eyes and teleporting the duo in front of Mouse.

It was an unusually flashy moment in Quinn's history but, the appearance was nothing short of gallant when he added a little hackneyed flavor phrase to enhance the dramatic affect. "You rang?" He commented with a smirk, he looked up to see four Eclipse Venonat "Whoa. Brutal." 'Eclipse Venonat. The Psychic Bug Pokemon. It's black fur is a sure sign that it has been infected, beware... this usually docile pokemon will now willingly fire psychic attacks from it's eyes or try to poison you without warning.' As if reacting to the Pokedex, they all fired Psybeam at once. Quinn hesitated for a moment, certain they were about to be in pain when the crashing sound of the halted psybeam sounded against Abras palm, slightly damaging it. Was that... Barrier? "Well alright then!" he said with a smile. "Hey, old-man. What's your name? You wouldn't happen to have brought any fire types with you, eh?" Quinn had a plan to take them all out in one shot but.. he needed a fire-type for that plan.

The young boy's sudden appearance shocked Mouse, causing him to trip and cower.
"Eeeeeeek~! DON'T HURT ME DON'T HURT ME DON'T HURT ME!!!!!" he squealed, covering his face with his arms.
It only took him a brief moment to clock on to the fact that this boy was, in fact, his saviour.
He blushed deeply, and jumped to his feet.
"Thankyouthankyouthankyou~" he sighed, clasping his hands together and bowing slightly.

Mouse thought about the boy. Heroic entrance? Check. Cocky? Check. Eager to battle? Check.
Just the sort of person poor old Mouse was looking for.
That was, until, the old man comment.

"Oooold?" he whined "Do I look old? Omygod that's so mean!" he shouted, turning away from the boy and folding his arms.
"I am only 17 I'll have you know~"

The mention of fire pokemon reminded Mouse of his sticky situation.
He spun around, head shaking frantically.
"No sir, not on me! That's why I am here! I've lost all my Pokemon!" he explained, eyes filled with fear.
"Oh! and my name is Mouse pleasedtomeetyou~" he quickly added.

Quinn looked back at the seventeen year old teenager, Pathetic..., he thought to himself looking displeased. "By the way you abandoned your Swalot back there, I'd question that. I guess you don't have any pokemon with you then.. So uncool.." he commented as Abra hopped down onto the ground from it's trainers shoulder. "Guess I'll just have to make due then. Alright Abra, this is our first real battle then, lets avoid major screw ups." The abra nodded it's head, unusually active as it stood like a four-legged animal poised for battle with it's tail arching to the side with vigor. "Abra-bra!"

Quinn was astonished to see that Abra was so active but, he wasn't about to complain. "Alright, let's see.." Quinn contemplated as he plopped on the ground and looked up to the sky. A force of habit that allowed him to think more clearly. The Venonat still decided to attack, firing off psybeams in sequence causing Abra to teleport out of the way constantly as the Venonat took turns attacking. Abra was barely evading as the beams that chased it charred the ground when it disappeared to another point in space, "Abra, assume a spherical barrier around yourself and then brace yourself with by curling up into a ball!" A flash occurred after the order, a stream of light following a path around the Abra, the air around the creature slightly distorted as if some invisible force was there. Shortly after Abra followed instruction by hunching up into a sphere to protect itself. The relentless psybeam attack had simply been halted by the barrier that Abra floated within but, it was a new technique. Quinn was certain that it would not hold out for long. "Abra, try using a psychic attack. Hmm... I got it! Use confusion on the sphere to spin it and send yourself flying at the enemy." he commanded calmly as he looked down at the battle. "Abra.." It's eyes lit up as they shot open, the sphere spun in place for a moment, deflecting some of the energy into nearby trees causing some Caterpie and Metapod to fall out. Though Quinn looked to the side for a moment, he paid no mind to them as the Caterpie tried unsuccessfully to help their immobile brethren back into the trees; too weak to carry the Metapod.

The crashing sound of collision along with the cry of a lone venonat was both a good sign and a bad one to Quinn. It meant that on the bright-side, Abra had learned how to use his abilities to successfully preform a roll-out attack and strike a pokemon dead on. On the down-side, Abra only managed to hit one of the Venonat and was now vulnerable to attack from the remaining three Pokemon. Sure enough though, Quinn took this opportunity to throw a poke-ball out at the purple Venonat for capture. The ball didn't even shake. "Looks like we got a new partner, Abra." The Abra was on tense guard with the last three pokemon who were a bit more hesitant to attack but still obviously aggressive.

Ninjask’s hyper beam was aimed directly at Houndoom; it was guaranteed to hit, but that’s where it came in handy. For Houndoom’s flame wheel was faster than the hyper beam attacked. So when Houndoom was just a couple feet away, the hyper beam exploded right in front of Ninjask; resulting in both pokemon being injured from the attack.
But then she had an idea. ’Since he already knows what Houndoom can do from our last battle. Then what if I switched pokemon?
“Houndoom! Come back!” She shouted, returning Houndoom to his pokeball. “Noctowl! Go!”
“Ninjask, use Screech!
“Noctowl! Counter it with your Heat Wave attack!” She shouted. The fire attack swarmed around Noctowl like a giant barrier. In a few more seconds the screech had been completely deflected back to Ninjask, and then the barrier of fire began to shift. The Heat Wave attack was thrown at the Ninjask moments after the countered-screech hit it.
“Noctowl, Sky attack!”

Power and luck are good to have but.
Hikaru was on Gaia's back relaxing listening to music from his Pokégear as Gaia walk towards Viridian City. Hikaru would see bird pokémon land on Gaia's tree, and check them out a bit. None of them looked like any of the reports he had been hearing about "Eclipse" pokémon. Which Hikaru was sightly interested on. However wasn't going to run off to every place that reported seeing them. Rather just run into them if he could. Then sighing he hops off of Gaia and starts walking along side of him out of boredom. He felt that something was going to happen but didn't know what and when. He figure not much he could do unless he was there and he wasn't the type of guy to run off to play hero though he did know how to play the part when he wanted or needed to. Though prefered to just a bimp in the radar cause anytime something really good or bad happen he had to deal with his parents. Which though he loved them thought at times like most parents they needed to cool off when it came to him. As his father never stop talking about him and his mother wasn't far off.
Without the skill to use it, both power and luck would be wasted and maybe not be of any use.

Quinn had paused a moment, to see if his new company would make any statements or actions. Not that Quinn particularly cared though, he was never much for companionship. Sure, like any young boy he yearned for someone who would make him whole but, he never really made the effort and if he wasn't going to try for the female gender, he sure as hell couldn't give two shits about the males. What can I do? Quinn thought with a frown, Abra still on the defensive. Suddenly though, Dexter popped on as if reacting to Quinn's though. 'Eclipse Pokemon are contagious to touch and must be dealt with from afar. This makes many inexperienced fighting and normal type pokemon very susceptible.' The Venonat all focused their beams to Abra who was surrounded and hit it head on before it could teleport. The sound of Abra shouting out snapped Quinn out of his trans-like state, he looked down at the battlefield, Abra looked pretty bad. "Abra form a barrier around yourself, then use confusion to spin on a horizontal axis like a top." If this was successful, Abra would be using Twister a dragon type move. Abra did as it was told but, when the Venonat were sucked up into the maelstrom of damage the fired a psybeam attack straight down, destroying the barrier and sending everything flying. From a distance one could see bird pokemon flee from the area as the tree's swayed like the ebb and flow of the seas. Abra was finished but, so was the Venonat swarm. It was all that Abra could do to teleport to it's masters shoulder. "Good work, Abra. I'll try to make it a little easier on you next time." With that, Quinn stood up and reached to his pocket for three empty poke-balls. "We can't just leave them here, it wouldn't be fair." Quinn said to his pokemon-pal. "Professor Oak will take good care of them." if not for his compassion in that instance, Quinn would probably seem like someone who didn't care at all and just wanted results and though he'd never admit it, he cared for a lot of things and people. When the time had come he'd sent three pokeballs off with his pokedex and kept one, the first of the Venonat's he defeated. He picked up the red and white ball and pressed the button on it to minimize it's size before putting it in his pants pocket.

Ignoring Mouse, he'd just simply walked over to the Caterpie and Metapod. They'd all seemed pretty scared. "Excuse me there." he said picking up the Metapod and holding it up quickly the other caterpie that stayed in the tree used string shot and before long, all the metapod were back in the tree's.

The battle continued on and on with Noctowl defeating Ninjask, Mightyena beating Dusclops, Houndoom knocking both Regice and Registeel, Croconaw knocked out Solrock.
“All right Luxray. Use Giga Impact!” Athena commanded. An orange sphere of energy began to circle around him. Luxray slammed Regirock so hard that it sent both of them crashing into the walls, leaving huge dents in the wall.
“Regirock! Stone Edge!” Brandon exclaimed.
“Luxray! Don’t do anything!” She shouted. She knew from there last battle with Brandon that Regirock could control the direction of the Stone Edge. So dodging was just a complete waste of energy and it gave Luxray a chance to recharge. The stones where flying towards Luxray at an unbelievable speed. But when the stones were just a few feet away from Luxray, Athena shouted. “NOW!”
Luxray jumped into the air, causing the Stone Edge to crash into the wall behind him.
“LUXRAY! Finish Regirock off with THUNDER!”
Luxray began to spark electricity when suddenly, a huge beam of thunder shot out of Luxray and towards Regirock. At first Regirock didn’t even feel the attack, but as it kept coming non-stop at it, he started to get seriously injured. After a few minutes of constantly getting electrocuted, Regirock fell to the ground in defeat.
“Regirock is unable to battle! Luxray and Athena are the winner!” Sam the referee declared. Brandon returned Regirock to his pokeball before he walked over to her.
“That was an excellent battle Athena. Your pokemon have grown much stronger since our last battle. And as such here is your Gold Brave Symbol.

Effort, Talent, they are meaningless.

Hikaru makes it to Viridian City. He returns his Torterra back to it's pokeball, and heads off to the Pokemon center to get his team healed, and plan his next move. He had nothing really plan out.
((err short. If anyone wants to meet up to battle or something let me know.))

Athena felt the wind in her face as she and her pokemon soared through the sky in a sled like contraption. After awhile though, she decided to land at the nearest town, which happened to be Viridian City.
“Guys! Land down there in that grassy field!” She commanded. Almost at once, Luxray started to swoop at a downwards angle and toward the earth below. Moments later the rest of her pokemon followed. Soon they where had landed in the grassy field in the middle of park. “Thanks guys. You deserve a good rest.” She said, then returned her pokemon to there pokeballs, except for Noctowl.

Quinn had long since made it to the pokemon center, without the twerp from before. "I can't belived that guy was an older trainer.. he's so pathetic. Well, I dispatched all the Eclipse Pokemon he was being chased by so, it's not a big deal if I just left him there, right?" The question was almost rhetorical though as he handed a rice ball down to his new partner. "So, your a Venonat then?" the Venonat jumped up and down happily as it grabbed the ball and chirped its name. "You sure seem to be an appreciative one, huh? I bet your just a youngin' too." Quinn gave his seldom smile, he was after all at peace for now as all his pokemon had rested up. He was just taking a little break before he'd go to see the town's Gym Leader, Brock. "You guys rest good now. You're going to get some hard training in just a bit." he looked at his buddy Abra on his shoulder.. "Especially you, we're going to work on your Barrier technique. There's a river through this town and it runs through Mt. Moon. There's probably a waterfall there." Quinn paused to take a final bite out of his own riceball. "If I sit you under that and have you used barrier, your bound to nail that technique." Abra didn't look happy about it at all though "Quit your griping, lazy. I'm going to be sitting under the waterfall next to you, without a barrier so don't be such a whine-a**."

If one were to follow the trio of two pokemon and a trainer they would find themselves resting upon Mt. Moon's base where a waterfall could be seen. The rocks below had gallons of cold water crashing upon them which would destroy even the solid forms of earth over time to make its river that much larger but the destruction was a beautiful sight as the crystal clear water fell from a cavern in the mountain and with it, various fish-type pokemon. "Venonat." Quinn requested. "Focus on these trees. Imagine drawing energy out from them, feeding on that energy to empower yourself. The attack is known as leech life. You probably know that to do it, you have to bite on something. Do not bite. Absorb the power with your mind. It's called Giga Drain." The Venonat rigorously reacted and got to work, eager to thank the trainer for saving it from the virus. "Abra, you'll come with me." Abra gave a sigh before Quinn turned away from Venonat. When the duo drew near the river, Abra had jumped off while Quinn took of his clothes leaving him in nothing but his boxers. He spotted two rocks. "Abra, make a wall of stone with your confusion attack that will allow us to sit upon the point." There was no doubt that Abra's Confusion technique was spot on because the wall was built in two shakes and soon the team sat upon it as the cold water rushed across their backs. "Abra, use barrier on yourself to repel the water." The Abra did this but was almost pushed off the edge of the rock-face. With a helping hand from it's trainer, it made it's way back up. "Don't be so uncreative, creating a flat wall will only allow something to push you. Like a good fighter, a good barrier does not halt force or impose force, they merely redirect the force." Abra sat there intently listening to his trainers pointers. "Now try it again. No more food or rest until you get it right."

Meanwhile, Venonat was also having a hard time. "Venonat!" Quinn called out from the river. "Don't strain yourself. Focus, you can't focus if your not comfortable." The Venonat nodded but wasn't so sure. If it could, the purple puff ball would probably be sweating. It's body expanded for am moment as it took in a deep breath, it really wanted to bite and use leech life if just to feel a little successful but it new it's trainer would be disappointed. It thought about the moment it was released from the grip of the virus, the feel of Quinn first releasing it from the pokeball and felt somehow at ease when suddenly a snapping sound floated to it's antenna. It felt a bit of a change in itself, not much but a little. "Good job, Venonat!" The trainer called out, "That was Absorb, it's more or less a weak version of Giga Drain. You just need to build on it now." With the encouragement, the Venonat got back to it's rigorous training.

At the same time, the Abra was getting a little bit competitive. "Aaabraa.." it spat in an irritated voice, angry that it hadn't yet mastered it's power. "For you Abra, think. Examine the angle that the water is hitting you at, make that point of impact the narrowest so that your spherical barrier becomes more egg shaped. Also, it should be the thickest part. This is the ideal defensive barrier." Just like Quinn said, the water flew around the pokemon instead of crashing through the barrier.
