- "Matt? Would you get the post, please?" Matt's mother called from the kitchen.
"Sure," Matt called back, going outside to the postbox and opening the little door. The first thing that caught her eye was a small, thin, ornate envelope on the top of the stack with neat, cursive handwriting. She took out all the mail and brought it in, reading the envelope, and then smiling.
"Ma! I got a letter!" She giggled girlishly and set everything else down on the dining table. "That's great! Who's it from?" Ms. Juno replied semi-enthusiastically. Matt flipped the letter over.
"I dunno... there's no return adress..." Her voice became slightly uncertain, and then bright again. "Maybe it's a love letter from Cole..." She put much loving emphasis on the boy's name, then opened the lavish note.
Matt Juno,
You have been cordially invited to a private costume rave, along with several other hand-picked guests. Please try to attend. The party will be held at the Castle On the Outskirts of Lake Pacis on October 31st at night. Come at dusk.
Yours,
The Sun God
P.S., No other guests than yourself may attend.

- Matt sighed dreamily and giggled again, then frowned. "'The Sun God'? Cheap. However, this is a rave!" She spun around on her toes blissfully. "This is gonna be so badass!"
- Apollo looked around the ballroom. Link was busy setting up the stereo system on the stage. Apollo helped set up the strobe and blacklights as someone else dusted the blackout curtains. After that, he escaped to the kitchen to help make the punch and fill the water jugs. Waterlimeberry ((watermelon-strawberry-lime)) punch was good, right? He gave it a little taste, then frowned. Someone put a hint of vodka in it... Oh, well. It tasted good, so who cares? He carried the giant bowl into the ballroom and set it up on the blacklight-sensitive tablecloth on the table at the back of the ballroom. There were also little snacks that he'd made, like finger sandwiches and little cakes in case the guests got hungry. After several trips, the water jugs and plastic cups were on the table. Then he looked around the ballroom. Other than the stereo system, which Link was still working on, everything was pretty much ready. Might as well go get his costume ready...
