I know you've got a litte life in you yet
I know you've got a lot of strength left ..

Tsunade sat at her desk, peacefully sipping from a sake cup. Sake was really a good way to start the day, she had discovered, especially when times where peaceful, because then you would have the time to actually enjoy the alcohol making its way down your throat. She let out a content sigh and leaned back in her chair, peering out over the city she was in command of, having turned the chair so she was able to do so. Since Dark Scorpion had fled it had been a quiet two days. Jiraiya, she knew, had gone straight home after being told that he was not in any immediate danger of dying, and since she had personally told him that she should get some rest, he wanted to do it at home. Stupid pervert .. At least it was safer to let him go home and rest, than risk him peeping at the poor female patients.

It unnerved her though, that Dark Scorpion had not been killed. Who knew if he was going to come back any time soon? She grabbed the bottle standing on her desk and took a long swig instead of the modest sip she had before. She hated loose ends .. The evil guys always come back, especially if they are people like Dark Scorpion .. And Orochimaru. She thought with a sort of sad sigh. Hopefully today's festival would cheer her up, and Shizune wouldn't come barging in with some stupid thing she needed to do, like paperwork. Who needed that anyway?

The legendary .pervert Toad Sage of Konoha.

Jiraiya was lying face down in his bed, drool running from the corner of his mouth. No he was not sleeping, he was just resting, as he had been told to do. Resting was good .. It was just getting old. He wanted to do something, but he knew that Tsunade would attempt to murder him if she saw him outside his house, no matter how bored he was. He momentarily envied Naruto's fast healing, but then remembered the price of it. Nah, he'd rather just lie in bed and do nothing. Or, well, he hadn't exactly done nothing; he had written two chapters for his next book, something he was quite pleased with. He was going to the festival though, death threats or no death threats. He wouldn't miss an opportunity to dress up even more extraordinary than he usually did, Festivals were great!

He didn't go to many of those though, he was a hermit after all, and Naruto's tales of his birthday and the festivals that ended in fires and what not, hadn't increased his care of them, despite knowing that it would probably be fun. He had a dress kimono somewhere in the back of a closet. With some flowers on and stuff like that.. Yup, he was looking forward to the festival. He rolled onto his back, with a grunt and wiped off the drool from his chin. “Urgh ..” He rattled before getting to his feet, dusting off his dark red nemaki. Should I take a bath? He lifted his arm and smelled his armpit. Euw, yes. he decided and headed for the bathroom.

The sennin sighed contently as he was now both clean, and even wearing clean clothes. Today was going to be a great day! With that thought in mind, Jiraiya headed out into his home village and began wandering the streets aimlessly .. .. All right, so he was headed for the hot-springs, but I think all of us already knew that. He even began humming.

Lee skipped, yes, skipped down the road towards the park. He was feeling fresh as an eagle and he the soreness and ache he had felt the last two days, was beginning to lessen. Anezka-San was a very worthy opponent indeed, and he would make sure that he would be able to defeat her if they should attempt another sparring session. The black haired youth was in a very good mood while running up the stairs at a comfortable pace. He had begun to wear his usual amount of weights after the doctor had told him that he was fine again. Sadly he had been unconscious for nearly a day, and then been told that he was sick, and should stay in bed for another day (He therefore has no idea of what has happened at all, only that it is the 31th of December.)

He was particularly hoping to bump into Neji-San at some point, and of course Hinata-San as well, to hear if she had liked the gift he had bought for her. He was very positive that she had, seeing as the Hyuuga was very kind and liked a lot of things. Ah! Perhaps he could even find Naruto-Kun! For now he would attempt to find Anezka-San and thank her for the match, he had unable to do so last time they saw each other because .. Well .. He was knocked out by a sound-wave. And had luckily not gone deaf, that would be yet another disadvantage for him. He had been told to avoid loud noises though, and that h would experience ringing for his ears for at least a week. Before he even knew it, he had completed his run up and down the stairs. Oh .. Now what? A bright smile was on his face despite him having no idea what to do next. He headed down a random road.

(( I missed Lee .. Let us not knock him out any time soon. ))

Lilith smiled softly as Tadashi questioned her meager serving. Her head tilted to the side as she tried to reassure him.
"W-well it's not exactly like that. I live by a saying, only eat till your eighty percent full. It's not because I'm afraid to get fat or something, to tell you the truth I kinda wish I was a little meatier."
She sighed softly, realising that probably wasn't going to happen. She was going to become that withered old hag that never leaves her home.
"Also, I hear there's going to be a festival tonight, so you know what that means. Junk food! Plain rice will make everything else seem so very tasty. Also, I figure that having a light breakfast will help me not feel so sick throughout the day with all the activity I do."
She plucked out another chunk full of white rice to place into her mouth. She looked to Tadashi again, that curious yet careing look on his face always seemed to be there. Like it had been painted there by the gods themselves. For some reason she felt a little guilty. Her chopsticks slid from her lips and clipped themselves around a sunny side up egg, carefully placing it into the half eaten bowl of rice. Hopefully that would make Tadashi feel a little better about her eating habits. She mixed the rice up with some of the yellow yolk that was spilling down from it's creamy center, her head lifting as he asked her to be his date. She stared at him in slight shock for a few moments before her eyes began to glitter like the rubies they seemed to mimic. Her lips formed a smile before her euphonious voice dripped from her lips like smooth honey.
"Tadashi... How can I say no to that face? I'd love to go to the Festival with you~!"
A very slight almost indistinguishable pink came to her cheeks. A small blush that any girl would expect to get after being invited on a date. She could feel bubbles of joy swishing around in her chest, eager to burst out. If she wasn't so calm at this moment she might of squealed and jumped across the table to glomp him to the ground.

"But you didn't bring a Kimono did you? Well no matter, even if you did I still owe you for buying groceries and helping me. For you, I'm going to tell the spiders to make you a very nice silk with a sash. Hm but what colors should it be... I think light blue and white will match you perfectly! But what design to put on it... hmmmm.. Perhaps the spiders will suprise even me. They seem to have taken a liking to you. They say that since you got here you havn't squished one. Not even on accident."
She smiled happily and ate another mouthful of eggy rice. She had a special plan for her clothing, seeing as how she always wore a kimono top. Perhaps even Tadashi would be stunned by it. Then again, not only was that her intention but Tadashi was always too kind to say something bad about anyone. Oh how lucky Lilith was to be going to a festival, her favorite thing, with someone like him. She didn't even have to hold him hostage to get it either.

The dark haired girl finished the last of her bowl and stood up to take the dirty dishes to the sink. It was then that something hit her. She hadn't told Tadashi about what she had been working on upstairs. The second floor was her new shop, but she had been so rude as to not tell him her wares. She looked to him with a small smile as she spoke.
"Oh yeah. I finished the upstairs shop. Would you like to see it?"

Tadashi listened intently to Lilith explain her eating techniques. It mad sense, but in Tadashi's case it would never work. He smiled and nodded to show he understood. He was abut to say something about her wishing she was a little meatier when she mentioned the festival. He smiled and decided to ask her to be his date for the evening.

When Lilith said yes Tadashi's smile would widen even more. His chest swelled with joy, a bit of a twinkle in his piercing blue eyes. He was very very happy to say the least. The fact that she blushed made him very curious but he didn't mention it. Like the gentlemen he was he stayed quiet as she continued to speak.

He shook his head 'no' to her question. Truth be told, he hadn't a clue where his kimono was. It wasn't anything special, just white with gold edges. His eyes widened a bit when Lilith said she was going to have the spiders make him a kimono. During most of the conversation he'd been eating while he listened. Twice now he'd stopped eating because of something she said. The first time was when she said yes to beig his date. The second was right now.

He nearly dropped his chopsticks. He wanted to jump up and hug her, along with thanking her but befoe he could she spoke again. This time she was talking about the shop upstairs. He smiled when she said she'f finished, his head nodding 'yes' vigorously when she asked if he wanted to see it. "I'd love to! I'm glad you were able to finish it."

He paused for a moment, the twinkle in his eyes was more noticable than usual. "Lilith, I'm so happy you said yes to going to the festival with me. I can barely contain myself, I'm so excited. We are going to have a wonderful time, I just know it." He nodded his head vigorously in agreement with himself. His expression was determined with a huge smile. He was so happy he could just kiss her, but for the moment he contained himself.

"I can't wait to see the kimono. Be sure to thank them for me, and thank you...for everything. I always watch out when I'm walking around, could never forgive myself for harming something that meant so much to you." He smiled kindly as he went back to eating. He figured that he could continue to eat while he waited for her reply. If he kept smiling so much his face was going to get stuck like that. Seeing as being around Lilith made him smile, it was likely that it would infact get stuck like that.

The Pessimistic Optimist

Lilith smiled as she saw the life in Tadashi's eyes. He seemed so happy right now. More happy than he usually was. Lilith herself was in rather high spirits herself at the moment. She'd never been asked to a festival before, she just sorta showed up to watch the festivities. But now that she was invited, and this village was very hospitible, there would be no reason for her to worry about being kicked out. Perhaps she could even get a few goldfish for the Koi pond that they had cleaned up.

In the back of the house was the main pond with lily pads and some other plants, (it had been mucky and filled with weeds before) and leading around the sides and front of the house was what was basicly a mini moat. It led under the steps that allowed people to enter Lilith's home, and under the side stairs that lead to the second floor. But seeing as how it was empty, it's beauty was yet to be completed.

Lilith's tentacles took the dishes that were in her hands and placed them into the sink. Her own hands fixed themselves to a 'thinking' pose. Her usual right fingers to her lower lip, while her left hand rested inside the inner elbow of her opposite arm. She'd need to think of a design for Tadashi's kimono, or at least an idea to help the spiders. She couldn't just leave them to do things on their own, they needed help too.
"Now what would be a nice touch..."
Suddenly it struck her, Koi fish. Goldfish were used for little kids, a symbol of youthfulness. And Tadashi was still hyperactive when given the chance, but he certainly was not a kid. Larger Koi fish would seem more appropriate for him. And perhaps a little white snowflake here and there wouldn't hurt either. She smiled before looking to Tadashi once more.

"Well let's wait till you finish eating. I'm eager to see if you actually can eat it all."
She stated with a small chuckle.
"But while we wait I might as well tell you what my wares are. I'm going to be selling herbal remedies and stuff. You know, like this plant increases luck, placing this dust in your wallet brings money, eating these cookies will make your love stronger, chewing on this fruit peel helps joint pains. Also, I figure I can do massage and acupuncture for special cases."
She tilted her head to the side with a smile.
"I doubt anyone will come by since it's so far out here, but you never know."
It really just gave her an excuse to keep her jars of strange plants and dried up leaves in plain sight. She did enjoy helping people though and she certainly did not like hospitals, so this could be perfect for her.

She couldn't help but softly laugh as he showed how excited and delighted he was to be going to a festival with her. She herself was happy, but it was always a little hard for her to admitt that. It always seemed that when she did it was horribly ripped away from her. But it could clearly be seen on her pale face that there was a bit more life to her now. She was genuinely happy.
"I'm sure we will. Anything can be made fun with positive mentality~! Perhaps I can finally meet Anezka there. We were so busy fixing up the house that I had forgotten to ask you what she was like. All I remember is her long white hair."
She still wanted to meet her savior, but aside from the flower hair pin, she had no way of knowing who she was. And that was just IF she acutally wore it in her hair. Hopefully she would be at the festival as well, or at the very least she'd get to stop by her house and see her.

As she waited for Tadashi to finish she seemed to think about something else. She wanted a way to thank the people of this village who had helped her. Or at the very least that she had befriended. ( Which in turn was the ones that had helped her ) She had an idea, a very sweet idea, of what to make for them. But she'd need to distract Tadashi, she had already found out about his sweet tooth. With that little puppy dog face of his, he'd probably get to snack on the gifts before anyone else. Lilith was planning to make Sakura Cherry pastries and Mooncakes, since it was the start of the new year, but aslo she wanted to try something new. Candy Sushi.

Monsters are real, and Demons are real too.†

There was no wind blowing within the forest that outstretched around the village of Kohona. There a young woman walked, her face hidden behind a old red scarf. Her gray hair shifted with each step she took, her eyes gray themselves had a hint of blue splashed close to the pupil contrasting the cold darkness of the outer rim.Her clothes old and torn in few places but still intact for the most part. This shinobi was named Kanashimi, she was the daughter of a great leader of Yukigakure, but she hasn't returned to her home in over three years. She according to anyone in the north she was simply dead.
Kana jumped to the trees now she climbed and climbed until she reached the top. She scanned around spotting Kohona's Borders about few miles away, she slipped down the tree to a sturdy branch. Pulling out a brush and a scroll, she wrote a letter to the Hokage which wrote:
To whom this may concern,
I wish for passage into Kohonagakure and I wish to confide to you as well.
My Raven shall lead you to me.
-Kana.

Rolling it up a low whistle passed her lips, soon a ebony bird rested upon her shoulder.
" To the Lady Hokage" She told him handing the bird the scroll.
" Will it work?"The Raven questioned with a crackle in its voice.
" We can only hope she will listen and help us"
The bird nodded and took flight, soon landing within the window of the room of where the Lady Tsunade was residing.

I know you've got a litte life in you yet
I know you've got a lot of strength left ..

Tsunade had emptied her bottle and started on a new one by the time Kana had decided to send a raven. A pink blush was comfortably set over her nose, and a slightly drunken smile was present as well. It disappeared though when a bird suddenly came swooshing towards her window. Like hell she wanted to attend any sort of business right now, no way Jose! Her thoughts didn't make the bird stop heading for her window though, and her frown was thick when it finally landed. She raised a hand at it and waved at it. “Shoo .. Awaaay .. Be gooone ..” She told the raven (it was now close enough for her to identify the race) unenthusiastically.

With a sigh, Tsunade finally got to her feet, leaned forward and snatched the scroll from the raven, reading through it irritably. 'My raven shall lead you to me.' She glanced briefly at the raven and wrinkled her nose in disdain. It would be plain stupid to leave with an unidentified bird to meet someone she had no idea who was. Important question was, why hadn't this person approached the gate guards .. Her frown deepened as she looked at the bird again. Should she send someone to investigate? Whom should she send? Tsunade pinched the bridge of her nose with a frustrated sigh.

Two days of quiet were over, she should have known it wouldn't have lasted, being the Hokage was so bothersome .. “Urgh.. I don't suppose you have a good suggestion?” She asked the bird, perfectly aware that birds couln't talk, but her half drunken mind told her that she might as well talk to the raven, instead of calling Shizune in and then have to listen to her ramble about stupid things. "Of course you don't." She answered quickly on the animal's behalf as he looked the scroll over again, to make sure she hadn't missed anything.

" Actually I do" The raven crackled and laughed." I'm sorry dear Lady that we have disturbed any festivities that you involved in" He motioned a wing towards the sake bottle. "My name is Kai, Kana and I have been looking for a new home and wish to reside here in Kohona." The bird spoke swift moving his hands as he talked. It was probably a huge shock that a bird was talking to the Hokage, espically in her drunken stuper. " Please Dear Lady, Speak to Kana. She has not intrest in harming you or anyone here. I can have her meet you at the gate or anywhere at your request. Just please help her." Kai tilted his head from side to side capturing her image in his head.

I know you've got a litte life in you yet
I know you've got a lot of strength left ..

Tsunade squeaked ungracefully and jumped away from the bird, drawing a kunai at the blink of an eye. Luckily she hadn't had more to drink, or else she would have dropped the kunai and simply just fallen on the floor. She squinted her eyes at the now talking bird. Perhaps it wasn't actually talking, perhaps she was just really drunk? No, as mentioned before, she would have fallen. Must be a summon or something or other. She decided that she needed some strength after the scare and took another swig (a large one) of her bottle, putting her kunai down on the table afterwards. “Aren't you a talkative little bird eh?” She murmured and poked the b.. no Kai with the butt of her soon to be empty bottle. She had decided that it wasn't a threat so far.

“If she wants access to Konoha, she should go talk to the freakin' guards and get her passport checked ..” She informed the bird, poking it's head again. Being Hokage was really annoying. Of course, the suspiciousness of the request itself was enough to decide that Tsunade wouldn't be going with the bird herself, no, no, she should send someone. Someone like .. “SHIZUNE-EE!!” She yelled, not even bothering to turn around to face the door. The 'summoned' shinobi scrambled through the door soon after. “Lady Hokage! What can I .. S-should you be drinking sake this early?” Tsunade glared at her assistant and pointed at Kai with the butt of her bottle, accidentally hitting it.

“Go figure out the motive of some girl at the gate. He says she means no harm, but I have my doubts.” She slurred, raising her index finger to empathize on this, making sure that Kai knew that she did not trust him yet. Shizune merely blinked at her Hokage, then looked at the Raven. Surely this was just drunken talk .. Right? There should be a law against drinking this early, but since it was Lady Tsunade who decided most things in the village, no such suggestion would make it far. At least the Hokage's powers didn't reach far enough to allow that casino to be build outside the Hokage tower. Shizune had spend many hour comforting Tsunade when the proposal had been denied.

" I thank you for paticence Lady Tsunade."Kai bowed now that Shizune had came into the room."I assure nothing will happen unless you make it so" He took flight circling the dark hair woman "This way" Kai shot out of the window waiting for someone to follow, she sent a call into the sky.
Kana heard the call and leapt from the tree in full sprint.Soon she was at the gate cautiously coming close but out of sight of the guards she waited for her bird to came into view when Kai and Shizune arrived.

"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." ~ Winston Churchill

Tadashi looked up, a piece of egg trapped between his lips when Lilith said something about a nice touch. He didn't know what the hell she was talking about, which was very apparent thanks to the confused to look on his face. He blinked a few times and tilted his head to the side a bit. His piercing blue eyes were filled with curiousity. After a few minutes he just smiled and went back to eating. He continued to look down at his plate once more, only taking his eyes away from the food when he heard Lilith speak once again.

He smiled deviously, "Well I'll do my best, it's delicious so as far as my taste buds are concerned bring it on! But my pit of a stomach make have a few complaints after awhile. Who knows." He chuckled and shrugged his shoulders before digging in once more. He'd look up at Lilith every so often as he listened to her talk about her shop and what she'd be selling. It was very interesting and strange, more importantly it was devious almost. Atleast, it sounded devious. When Lilith said massage, Tadashi nearly died right then and there.

He'd never had one, though he'd heard they were amazing. He'd given on before and was told he had magic fingers but everytime he tried to get one something always happened. Poor poor Tadashi. He said nothing about it for the moment as he continued to listen and eat, what a wonderful combination! He smiled and gave her this look like, Oh of course they'll come...or ya know...>.> I'll dring them by force. A very devious look to say the least.

He smiled when she mentioned wanting to meet Anezka. Tadashi was curious as to how the two would get along. Lilith could be very serious at times but Anezka was usually serious and quiet. Well except for when she was making your ears bleed after releasing a intense sonic boom on everyone around her. That long white hair is all Lilith would need to spot Anezka at the festival, she stood out like a sore thumb, just like Tadashi.

He put his chopsticks down and looked up at Lilith, "I'm sure Anezka will be there. I think you two will get along splendidly. Maybe one day you two can play together. She can play her flute and you can sing. Your singing is beautiful to say the least, I'd love to hear it alongside something like the flute." He smiled, "Oh and I'd like to ask you. These special cases...can I be one? All my life I've given massages and been told they were amazing, but..." he looked at her with puppy dog eyes once more, "I've never gotten one."

The Pessimistic Optimist

Lilith closed her eyes with a small grin playing at her lips, a small chuckle escaping from her throat as she watched Tadashi continue to eat.
"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you're trying to finish everything and still have room so you can get dessert after breakfast. It's too early for sweets silly. Then again, it's never too early for you. Don't think I don't see you snacking every so often."

It always was a little funny to see him pop a piece of candy in his mouth as he was helping her on the house. She had often wondered if he had so much energy because of the sugar, and if he would crash if he ever ran out of it. Sometimes, she bet that if she told him to empty his pockets he'd take out the contents of every candy store from Konoha to Suna. ((Which in turn probably isn't that much since I don't think Ninjas have a taste for candy...))

Lilith continued to pick up the empty dishes as Tadashi finished them, one after the other, and carry them to the sink. He wasn't forcing himself to eat was he? No, he seemed much too comfortable and happy to be doing that. And there was no reason for him to do so either. Well, unless he didn't like her cooking. But so far he hadn't complained so it couldn't of been that... could it? Nah.

The raven haired girl began to start on the dishes as Tadashi had nearly finished everything. When he said he was a bottomless pit, she should of believed him. Well at least she wouldn't have to worry about wasteing food, he was sure to clean his plate every time. She gently hummed as she listened to Tadashi talk about Anzeka again. She always took special attention to listen when he spoke about her. She had saved Lilith's life afterall. She wanted to be able to repay her some day, perhaps she could let her have something free from her new shop. Or just inform her first of new wares as they come in. As he suggested that Lilith and Anzeka should play together, the first thing that came to her head was less than practical. She softly chuckled and turned to look at Tadashi.
"A flute, harp, and voice. Now that does sound lovely. Perhaps I should hire her to play relaxing music."
It was then that Lilith realised something.
"Oh that's right, you havn't heard my harp have you. Then again, I don't usually play it around people. The spiders have a beautiful song when they sing at night, it's too bad I'm the only one who can hear them so far. Maybe someday I'll teach that trait to someone.."
But whom? Right now she didn't think she'd ever have children of her own, though she would very much love to be a mother. She was no sensei either, and she wasn't going to go through the trouble of becomeing a ninja of this village to do so either. She was still in love with her old village, the village she still intended to create. Quickly, she changed the subject.
"I bet Anzeka has a wonderous voice too, she might be too shy to know though. But it's still a lovely idea."
She continued to wash the dishes before she heard what else he was asking of her. She set one down, thinking she might of dropped it if she didn't, and turned her head to look at him again with an innocent expression. Was he just joking? No, he was using the face, he only did that when he truely wanted something. He wanted a massage? Lilith decided to take this seriously instead of blushing and fainting like Hinata usually did. Maybe he had pulled one of his back muscles helping her fix up her house. She did still owe him for all he'd done. She gave him a small smile before speaking.
"Alright, when you finish your breakfast we can go upstairs to the shop. I do have to ask you though, do you want a deep massage or just something to relieve pain? A deeper massage works better if you lay on your stomach and take your shirt off, that's the only reason I ask. Some people aren't comfortable with their clothes off."
She giggled so innocently afterwards. Almost as if she hadn't realised what she was asking. If someone was evesdropping, they probably would get the wrong idea right about now. 'go upstairs' 'lay down' 'shirt off' It certainly would make people wonder.
